# 7552 Now that we can go caching in beyond the ACT border, iPlod65 and I headed up the Barton hwy to Yass stopping off in Murrumbateman for a few lazy caches along the way. It was a fine but breezy day. We neglected to bring a ladder something we would soon come to regret.
All in all, a bunch of interesting and varied caches.
We spent quite a while looking for this one, eventually gaining inspiration from a previous finder.
Thanks Sui_001

Camping at Joe O'Connor Park Yass. Day 3
This morning we headed back to the Birds of Australia & the Challenge Cache series that we didn't do last when we were here with pprass.
After a lunch break we decided to find a few caches closer to town.
I can't believe I was right here a couple of days ago admiring the Bottle Brush & hadn't realised there was a cache within a few meters of where we were standing,
We have given so many FP while visiting Yass, met the CO who owns so many & will give this town a name for having quality challenging hides. Another day before we leave town to accumulate so more FPs
A FP for the hide & the amazing Bottle Brush.
Thankyou Sui_001 for placing this cache.

Thanks to all the CO's for a entertaining day. All caches found quickly and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Sui_001, for us and others to find.

This cache was not unlike another Yass cache I found today, although I must admit it fooled me at first. Thanks.

Found on a caching expedition out to Yass with sebass19: from 9:30am to 7pm, 51 caches! A quick find at GZ. A very well constructed container; was fun to see! TFTC Sui_001!

Thoroughly enjoying this series, so many interesting caches, with just enough challenge to give that nice find buzz and so far nothing to give gray hairs! This one aggravated the earlier geoG injury and there was some choice language before retrieval. Love the use of natural camo, well crafted again and yet another fav, glad we came with plenty to give out. Tftc

The Day: Lovely weather this weekend and Aquilus and I planned a long overdue attack on some of the new caches around Yass that we had heard so much about and which looked quite intriguing.

After most of Pebbles guests were due to depart midday, that is when we arranged our start. As the days are nice and long this seemed to plenty of time, although we did run out of light in the end but only after we had hours and hours of fun with the new and old caches up here.

We had a few that we were particularly keen on. Burdern of Sisyphus was one of them which we did early on before we ran into Sui soon after. (Just amazing!) And bowning creek was another which sounded super intriguing and turned out to be cooler than my wildest dreams. It was great to have the CO there for this and many other of his caches we did. Not just for the mischievous smiles/laugh Razzor the TOTT that help with browning Red Faceor the occasional hints he gave (between laughing with glee Twisted, but for a very fun and cheery company [^].

Aquilus' company was, as always, very enjoyable and we had an absolute blast with so many cool and inovative caches around. We didn't quite get to do them all, so will be back for more.

This cache: This is the cache where the CO found us at. We were quite surprised to see him suddlen walk up to us. What a nice surprise Quickish find, the grass is much higher than usual as the CO confirmed which makes the search differnt but Aquilus1 found it quickly.

Thank you Sui_001 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

It was a lovely spring day, no forecast of rain and a perfect day to be out enjoying the beautiful green countryside up around Yass. With Flintstone's driving and my company for the day we made our way north to find what we could of the newer caches up around the area, and a few of the older ones as we passed by as well.

We had a number of must do caches, some we had heard a lot about and came prepared with a selection of TOTTS that may help the cause. A great selection of caches greeted us and I loved the variety, with Burden of Sisyphus we hit the challenge early on... I say 'we' but really have Flintstone's to thank for tackling the bulk of what was required through out the day.

I had heard that many of these required trees, its true. However with the right TOTT these are achievable and not difficult to access, just need to spot them first! Lightly camouflaged caches was the theme of the day, some taking a little more time than others, the neck took a stretching with the looking up required! Not all up though and a variety of hiding locations and objects greeted us.

Met up with the Sui through the day and a loan of a TOTT that was useful for a certain cache, we had one that would have worked but this one was, well, best for this location! The three of us made our way around, my logs may be brief as not to spoil what awaits... but the CO has had the enjoyment and knowledge of how they really went! Wink

A really enjoyable day and looking forward to being able to return for the many caches we still have to find. A great effort in the construction, thought and placement of these caches, had us searching but I liked that, its all part of the fun, and well... we do this for the fun, right?! Many thanks to Flintstone's for his driving, navigating, finding, TOTTS, climbing, wading, good coffee and company! Thanks for your cache that led us around on this lovely day.

Sui wandered over to say hi, under his watch we sniffed this out quick enough although not in the first place we looked!

Found on a trip around Yass on a fine Spring day. Wink
Many excellent hides and many muggles around.
Some of the Sui hides were a real challenge as well.
I had to PAF here after a good search of every option.
With a little nudge in the right direction it was eventually located.
Cache condition is good/OK here. Anothe fav point as well.
Thanks for the cache Sui_001,

Day two of my journey of collecting caches and the original plan was to collect a few around Yass and then head to Tumut (via Gundagai) and do a lot more there, but I enjoyed the ones I started that I spent a lot more time around the former town. Had very little luck in Gundagai (it was tourist central) and had quite a few DNFs (or did not stops) bt still cracked 50 for the day (all trads as I had no luck on multis today).

Another quick one - lots of grass, lots of potential hides but a bit of a sign gave it away. Though should have read the instructions - would have made signing the log easier.

Out and about in Yass to collect a bunch of Sui_001 caches and a few others. Joined by ZQX, AngelG27, TikvaNZ, SpecimenX, Noikmeister and Sui. A fun day with lots of different DT combos to keep us entertained.

By the time I had stepped out of my car, Noikmeister had declared the cache found. It appeared he spied something quickly that gave the game away. TFTC Sui

Cache 6476 on 19 Sep 2020.

Another Saturday morning geomission, this time with Fox in Jox, Noikmeister, SpecimenX, TikvaNZ and ZQX. The CO of some of the Yass based caches came along to laugh at our efforts, and there were plenty of laughs to be had. I scored a respectable 14 caches for the morning, and a fun morning out with my geobuddies!

Fourth one of the morning and another good hide by the CO. My phone GPS was all over the place this morning, but Noikmeister had a proper GPS and came up with the find.

Thanks Sui_001 for the cache and the fun! Fav point comin at ya!

Up and at 'em early this morning to join AngelG27 and the geochaps (Noikmeister, TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox and ZQX) on a geomission to Yass to meet up with Sui_001 (nice to meet you!) and nab some of his caches as well as a few others around.

A couple of motorists on this quiet road were probably wondering why we were all gathered on the side and wandering around with our phones! Wasn't long after that Noikmeister came up with the goods here.

Thanks for another crafty cache, Sui_001! Cool.

With the weather being so nice we made last minute arrangements with ALL7 to head out to Yass to check out the new caches that have appeared in the area. With the Co along for an afternoon of adventure and giggles, our goal was to clear out the area again.

This one had us stumped for a little bit and searched things we had searched before until those magic words were spoken. Found it! Gets another favourite point from us.

Thanks for the hide Sui_001.

Tankengine and I were out with two main aims today - 1. Collect caches for the new souvenir challenge and 2. Just for the sake of caching LOL!

I was looking forward to this trail and seeing these new more interesting caches than some stuff that comes out.

This CO has produced some great variety of caches. There were tricky ones, challenging ones, creative ones and some straightforward ones. I really enjoyed the day. Tankengine is always great company and thank you for all the driving and having all the equipment we needed for the day. And thank you to the PAFs who helped us find them all in the very limited time we had. Sorry to the CO who were did intend to call for a catch up, but we just took too long and other commitments on my behalf made us have to rush home.

This Cache: This cache was another well crafted cache. Tftc Sui_001!!!

Chooo ooo [FOUND] with DTY73 on an overcast, but otherwise fine day! Now that the Wonders of the World game was active, we decided to come up here and try and see how many Wonders we could find! Managed to score a fair few – but not all of them. Todays caches all turned out to be Sui caches for me! And man, many of the were hard to find. Indeed, we needed to PAF on a number of occasions! In the end, although we didn’t manage to collect all the new Sui caches today, we were happy that we found each one that we attempted… Especially given how tough some of them were!

A nice quick hide here, Thanks for the cache Sui!

Plenty of sheep watching on and not many cars which was good .
Another sneaky hide and the log sheet signed around 1.30 pm .
A fav tick added .
Many thanks to sui_001 for the cache hide.

I spent Saturday and Sunday driving between Yass, Crookwell, Taralga and Peelwood to visit is many of the caches in this region as I could. The new caches near Yass were all very clever hides that provide a great challenge. I fit in the new Adventure Labs in Crookwell in the afternoon before a chilly night at Bummeroo Ford. Sunday started foggy and stayed that way till after 10. I made it to Peelwood for a cache that I was blocked from on my last visit and finished the day with caches near Goulburn before heading home.

Thanks for the cache Sui_001

After a day spent collecting my old cache containers, decided to grab the new ones out on this road. Hint had me looking in the wrong place, and the CO turned up to watch and laugh at my attempts to find the cache. Eventually spotted it.

Thanks,

The last cache of Sui's today with DSD and the CO himself watching over us! Big Grin
Having previous knowledge of the last couple caches, we went into this one a little bit more confident! We still had to scout around a bit and dismiss a few ideas here and there, but then a thought came to my head and the cache was soon located!

Well done, this is probably my favourite one, so will add a point Smile

Thanks for spicing up the Yass cache hides! And welcome back to the game after a long hiatus!

Found at 1:45 PM GAFF1.
Set up our van at Joe Conner park and we thought we had better do the caches north of here that we don't normally do as there were plenty of caches in Yass and south of Yass.
Arrived at GZ and found the sheep just bleating away in chorus - no idea what set them off. Then the farmer came out and stopped at his gate and we thought he was going to come over and ask us what we were doing - but he didn't. He just drove past and we waved and he waved back.
A nice hiding method that we have a couple the same at home Wink
Thanks Sui_001
Feedback: Reading the hint now as I write this log - gosh! So glad that we didn't have to rely on that to find the cache. That is what you have to do when you actually find the cache - so no help whatsoever I'm afraid.

Loved this. I did spend some time wondering what exactly I was trying to find. The old caching eyes came in handy and I spotted a curious thing. Yep that’s it. A FP for the well placed cache.

Great hide, easy find. Thanks for the cache Sui_001.

I tried for the first-to-find on this cache, but when I arrived at GZ there were people standing in a paddock close by, having a chat.
Today I came back to check it out and other than a few cars scooting past, I thought the area was all quiet - then the CO popped up!
I was able to entertain (or was that torture?) Sui_001 for a while as I looked fruitlessly for the cache, only to discover that like another cache by the same CO yesterday, I'd actually already touched the hide and not realised! D'oh!
Another example of a simple, but highly effective camouflage job!
Thanks for another great hide, Sui_001!

A nicely made cache. It's nice to see a cache that some effort has gone into. Worthy of a favourite point.
It's a long time since I have seen that much stinging nettle, as is growing nearby. TFTC Sui_001.

20,931. Found during a caching run with minniek heading home this afternoon.

After catching up with my Geo-Daughter and going to CostCo, we started heading home. We detoured a bit for a quick 16 caches for our calendar requirements. This was the last find of the day, and quite a nice hide.

Heading back home from Canberra, fitzy_1965 decided to try and finish of this series.

After doing a quick series out the back of Murrumbateman, we headed home via Yass to pick up this new one.

I definitely overthought the hint so was glad when fitzy came up with the find. A clever hide.
