After going up Mt Edwards with my 9 and 10 year old granddaughter's and gathering all the required information I set off to find the cache, unfortunately I had my Y and Z mixed up and was a bit out, asked the CO for help and he kindly helped me out, returned today to put my name in the log, many thanks to the CO for this one, a favourite point from me, thanks for placing andTFTC
At a family picnic in 2013, I managed to disappear across the wall and just halfway up this hill to find the old geocache there. But I have no reason to believe then or since I have ever pressed on to the summit. A bit rude of me really! And wild considering I've summited like, every other peak within cooee. Some multiple times.
But reasonably recently, I wasn't far away and noticed this relatively new icon. I'm on a bit of a mission to find ruzzelz' geocaches so want to get back here to revisit Wummum properly. This afternoon I wanted to get out, touch a tree and be in nature and nowhere near a screen for some hours.
Considering this is just an hour drive from home, it was the perfect target for a solo adventure. Back down the familiar and enjoyable drive that is the top of the Cunningham Highway I went and followed the signs to the picnic area. I was prepared with water and snacks, but had remembered the walk to be a bit easier than it turned out to be.
Dare I say it, there isn't another hike going that begins with a stroll over a dam wall. I did waste a bit of time peering over the edge on both sides. Then I grabbed the number from the sign and began up.
Each climb is usually pretty unique. But as I recalled Edwards is simply a track up a slope. And maybe that is just because I spend a lot of time looking at the ground to not fall over. But just follow the track up.
For little breaks, the track wends by a little lookout every now and then, where I stopped to catch my breath. I stopped plenty of other times too, but there was less to see. Some fallen trees tested leg stretgnth as I hopped over. And more than once I stopped to look at my progress on the map and generally notice there was a lot more contour lines ahead and above me.
Generally safe to say it was an enjoyable climb. Even if a guy running back down mentioned he's aiming for a 45 minutes car to car run. And it took me an hour just to get to the top. I don't think I'm old or unfit!
Here at the summit, a most spectacular view unfolded from between the trees. Seeing so much wide open country, a familiar place near home made me feel things. Seeing the low sun cast long shadows from each ridge was both a spectacle and made me realise how I should ghet a hurry on!
I had to poke around for the required numbers, and honestly never did work out Y solidly, except for a process of elimination. Although I did find a cache left by Freedom Climb 2023 (photo attached and container left behind). I was wet from sweat and the sun was threatening to set. With a wind picking up the cliff, I was cooling off fast, but made sure to have a snack, drink and watch the view as much as possible.
Just before everything in my body went cold, I began my trek back down. It got progressively shady and I wished I'd left home earlier. But after 45 minutes, I plonked back out onto the wall and away from the serenity.
Kindly looking back on a successful little adventure to get into nature briefly and grab a choice geocache, I was back in the car and with the headlights on, headed home. Oh, and there was a geocache among all that too. It was late in the day and I needed my phone torch to see, but it was easily located and in great condition. Thank you for this geocache and little mountain climb, ruzzelz

Yes another early morning rise for another mountain climb.
Today climb I was with my normal caching partner The Green Geckos, Muggle65 plus DisSister came along for the walk. What a hot day it was.
After the oldie we had a break then headed ti the top of Mt Edwards to gather the information for the earthcache and multi. The view up here were beautiful. Then we had the walk down hill at least that was faster. We had a rest at the car park. Then headed to GZ to find the cache. Ruzzlez *TFTC 7832 Finds*

I’ve had the oldie Hydro Camp on my to-do list for what seems like an eternity, so when The Green Geckos mentioned they were heading this way with Muggle65 and Brislions, I jumped at the chance to join them. We made an earlyish start but the sun was already heating the day up, making for a sweaty walk. I quite enjoyed the walk, stopping to admire the views every so often (some may say quite often). After finding that cache, we settled down for a snack before continuing on. Once the coordinates had been determined, it seemed the rest of the time on the mountain was like a walk in the park and we were surprisingly quickly heading to GZ. We took a slightly circuitous route due to a crazy arrow but the cache was soon found. Thanks ruzzelz
For some inexplicable reason & I yet again woke up at ridicule o’clock to drive umpteen miles so we could enjoy the sun come over the horizon while mentally waking up to another mountain climb.
At least we weren’t alone in our cachemare dream!! Today we are accompanied by Brislions and DisSister. Meeting at Moogerah dam to climb Mt Edwards to find Hydrocamp , the Oldie, along with the Multi, Wummum & Earthcache further up that rather large rock.
Relatively quick find once we arrived at our projected coordinates. Great uphill walk to the summit lookout & tried to avoid some wildlife.

Muggle65, Brislions, DisSister and l met up at the car park and started up the hill. It was a beautiful hot day. The sweating started immediately . I was not well at all and this relatively easy walk was killing me. But we gathered what we needed and our names eventually made it into the log. I was so happy to sit on my butt in the car and blast the ac into my face. On a regular day, this would have been fun. The view was spectacular
We decided to walk up mt Edward's today. On the way up tried looking for the sign and failed miserably and seeing others had the same problem I messaged the owner who was very helpful and by the time we got to the top we had the required information. We were above the clouds at the top.
After gathering all the information that was required for this and the earth cache and having a bite to eat we headed down.
At the cache after circling a bit and wondering about the hint I saw where it was hidden.
Thanks for preparing this multi cache

Out with mnance101, great walk to the top, the views today were awesome thanks co
Out caching with Bennyboppers. Our initial hike was cancelled so we decided to hike Mt Edwards. A steep but great hike with great views. We were unable to find the Stage 2 waypoint but the CO helped us out. We found the other waypoints. A lovely quiet spot for the cache. TFTC!
As mentioned to the lovely CO, sign way point is missing, most likely taken out by a eucalyptus tree that fell over - or was the tree being lazy and lie down? Photo at waypoint location.
A good view at the top makes this hike worth while, albeit a rush as I literally snorted and sweated my way to gz to collect the clue.
The area is unfortunately covered with lantana, with the path almost overgrown.
Found very late in the evening.
I left a yoyo for the next finder.
I like the metal case for the cache, it must be rat proof and water proof!
As mentioned, a way point is missing, but the co of the cache is very kind and helpful.
Found after a nearby event.

My muggle daughter wants to do some hiking and I was afraid I'd scared her off last week with a hike up Wilson's Peak. So today we set an easier target of Mt Edwards. We started off nice and early and had the amazing views to ourselves, only encountering the masses heading up as we headed down. Thanks for the cache
A wonderful Multi, great hike up and back from the mountain, and a sneaky hide. Finding the right path to the cache can be a challenge! TFTC!!
I completed the walk a few months ago. I am not sure what solar magnetic storm was happening, but my GPSr decided to go barmy for the rest of the day. Phone signal was not the best either, so I did not find the final that day.
Out again today, with confirmed numbers. The GPSr simply does not like it here. The closest I got was 10m, which is OK, but as to which direction, well that was not so sure.
The grass out here is long, so it was careful steps amongst the rocks. Lots of places to check, but eventually my circles brought me to the right spot.
Rescued the TB

My first visit to this beautiful dam with such stunning scenery and after meeting up with geo friend Davinells we headed off to look for all available caches at this location.
The overnight rains that made the track slippery in places didn't deter us in the least, we just took our time and were very careful.
Arriving at the summit we were greeted by absolutely beautiful views then sat down to have some well earned morning tea before gathering the required information for GZ.
We collected this cache on our way out but due to my miscalculation we searched here for much longer than we should have. Once I discovered my error it was a quick find of the very neatly hidden container under its canopy. A very enjoyable multi and a real pleasure to do, thanks CO.

I have wanted to climb Mt Edwards for a while now, with a cooler change and a break in the rain it looked like a December hike was doable. I had great company in Snickersallan and we had a great day collecting the caches on this mountain.
The storm last night meant the track was wet and muddy in places so we took our time making sure we didn’t slip. We did meet a kiwi ultramarathon runner who ran up and down the mountain 4.5 times!!
The views at the top did not disappoint and it was even better that we had the summit to ourselves. After finding the required clues for this multi we sat there for a while and enjoyed it.
On the way out we stopped by GZ, but couldn’t find anything.... a quick check of our numbers and we had to switch two around. At the new GZ the cache was quickly spotted and we signed the log. Tftc Ruzzlez

We enjoyed our walk immensely both up and down Mount Edwards. The weather was perfect on the day, just a little overcast and so not quite as hot as it otherwise would have been.
Upon arriving at the top, we stopped to take in some truly awesome views. The colours were brilliant, and with recent rain all looked amazing.
We collected information, and gradually made our way back down, noticing that our knees prefer the uphill to the downhill, while our lungs are the opposite.
At the bottom of the mountain, we grabbed the esky and had a drink by Lake Moogerah, under the shade of spectacular Jacaranda trees. I think we were there on the right day to enjoy full bloom.
It was then a drive to GZ on the way out. It was a little search and a bit of cryptic thinking about the hint that helped us make the find.
Thanks ruzzelz. This is an excellent multi in a beautiful location. Highly recommend this one!
FP added.
Thanks

With a caching trip planned with Kolour to climb Mount Edwards, we arrived at the posted co-ords and started gathering the required information. Such stunning views up on the summit, very glad we made the trek.
With all of the required details collected, we calculated and headed to GZ where we found a cache buried under a lot of rocks.
Signing duties done, we replaced the cache, and the rocks, and headed to the cafe for a well-earned cuppa!
Thanks ruzzelz for a great multi.

Had a great day bushwalking with Willis007 on Mt Edwards. Found all the information for this one and headed to gz. After a short search, found the cache covered in rocks and dirt. Picked up a tb and left one. Had a nice surprise seeing the domsky’s heading up Mt Edwards while we were coming down. Tftc and bringing me here, one of the few mountains I’ve not climbed in this area.
Forgot my pen this time, but what a great camouflage
- Don't look for the cache, look for where you would hide one

Mt Edwards (Wummum) was my target area for today... prior to finding Hydro Camp I had talked myself out of carrying on to the summit... I had an internal argument and the summit won out... damn my need to find more multis....
I’m so glad I did... it was satisfying...really satisfying... I even stopped to take a pic or two...
Found the required info... and headed back down the “hill”... I passed four groups on the way down, so I was lucky to have the summit to myself...
Once at my calculated GZ I went round and round... so sensibly rechecked my numbers to find a rookie mistake... a 20 metre mistake... once I was at the actual GZ is was a nice quick spot...
Thanks ruzzelz for getting me out of my comfort zone... left PinkDragon87’s C3PO Cache Wars Micro Geocoin... I think I may have dropped a fave point over a cliff somewhere... I need a coffee...

A small group made it to the summit and back down via sandy Creek.
A good day for a walk, have driven past many times always looking for another mountain, to day it was the day for this one.
A cache in my style, a few finds a year.
Thanks Ruzzels

Today, I joined karicka in hiking up Mount Edwards. An early morning start had us arrive at Moogerah Dam, where the area was already filling up with Mother's Day group plans, and it looks to be a lovely day and picnic area. We then spent the next 3.5 hr making the hike up to the peak, and then returned via a detour to the west of the dam. We then returned home via Mount Alford, stopping off at the pub for a well earned drink, and made a few miscellaneous geocache stops at various creeks and cemeteries.
An enjoyable climb, and the main target for today (along with the nearby geocaches). Scenic views were had along the trail and at the peak, and it was also nice to similarly have good views from GZ also. The answers to the multi-cache's questions were not too difficult, and we managed to find the relevant markers and signs without any drama.
Whilst finding a few geocaches upon our summit return, karicka nearly forgot about collecting this geocache until I reminded him. We parked and searched around GZ, and I found the cache after a reasonably quick look. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I also dropped a *Melbourne Teaspoon* TB, knowing it would be safe in this cache here. Thanks ruzzelz for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A Favourite Point from me!

We were pleasantly surprised to discover this multi up here for us to find as we thought we'd done all the caches in this beautiful area. Mount Edwards always catches us out as we tend to think of it as a quick and easy ascent, however, this is not necessarily the case! In reality it's longer, steeper and more rugged than we remembered, taking us 75 minutes to reach the summit, haha. Anyway, the view from the top is well worth all the huffing and puffing. Yes view, as last time we were up here with the CO we were high in the clouds with only tantalizingly brief glimpses of what lay below. TFTC Ruzzelz and an FP for bringing us back here again.
I may have been on this walk when the CO decided to hide this cache. He then asked me to check his working before publishing, so hopefully I was a good proof reader and there were no issues with this multi. Thank you ruzzelz for extending an invitation to accompany you on a walk up here. It’s a beautiful piece of paradise and well worth the drive from Brisy. As I was arriving I could see a hot balloon floating along and thought yes that would be a lovely way of seeing this area. And I wondered did they have champagne on board (I do like my bubbles). Thanks for a lovely morning ruzzelz
With a multi day walk planned for next month, our group was keen to get some more up-hill walking into the legs in preparation, especially with fitness levels haven fallen drastically over the Covid-19 shutdown period.
The overcast sky on the drive down unleashed a short shower of rain before we reached Aratula, which provided an excuse for a coffee stop while we waited for the precipitation to pass. The skies were beginning to clear by the time we arrived at the car park near the dam wall, providing perfect walking conditions.
As we were kitting up, Dez remembered she had some photos from a previous walk and we tried our luck at locating the final cache, using the information we had, before heading off for the walk. No luck there, so it was back to traditional methods of solving the final coordinates.
Although I have hiked this mountain twice before, and successfully completed a number of steeper hikes in recent weeks, I absolutely struggled here today. Luckily Crookedpete was there to keep me company at the rear of the pack. Finally we made it to the top to rejoin Stairman1 and JezNDez who seemed to skip their way to the top effortlessly. Rather chilly up here, with quite a cold breeze blowing and cutting straight through my sweat soaked clothes, so I donned my spray jacket to ward of the mist and mizzle from the low scudding clouds which enveloped us.
With final numbers calculated, we headed back down the hill which was a much more comfortable effort. What had been a deserted car park when we left, was now filled with cars and 2 buses and throngs of picnickers gathered in the parks.
We headed to our final destination which was remarkably close to where we had been. Still no luck in our search and a quick recheck of the numbers resulted in a small adjustment. Bingo! Cache found, mere meters from where we had searched at the beginning of the morning. Oh so close. TFTC

Found this morning with a great group of fellow cachers. Bit of an early start and keen to set off with the rain holding off nicely for us. We made our way over the dam wall and started our puffing almost straight away. A nice welcome stop at the way-point to gather some info before heading off again. I think Covid has a little to answer here, as our group has significantly slowed down. in various states of unfitness we made it to the top, all with our various excuses ranging from sore shoulder, sore back, sore shins, old football injuries etc. ( nothing at all to do with a little excess food a little coffee a cream bun and no excercising) After getting our breath back we crunched some numbers that we were happy with. Took in the great views between the clouds before making our way down.
Great spot for your final, great views.
Thanks heap guys for a great morning.
Thanks MM for bringing us to this great place

Covid hasn't been kind to me - at least according to the bathroom scales. As the newly elected President of the Fat Bastards Club, I jump at the opportunity of a hill climb . With afternoon commitments, we got an early start. Once on the trail , I duly took my position at the rear of the conga line and then stayed there for the climb.
At the top, the forecast rain held off though mizzle came through in bands, spoiling the view. Clues were collected and cream buns eaten. Then time to test the knee cartilage on the descent.
Prior to the climb, we had taken a punt on the final location and had a quick search. We were oh so close - perhaps 6 or 7 metres away. As it turned out, one of our crew muddled the numbers and we were searching not far away. After finding nothing, the crew numbers guru quickly corrected the mistake and we soon made the find.
Thanks for helping me rid me my winter covid coat, Ruzzelz.

Thursday. A brand new multi up for (FTF) grabs and we couldn’t help but try for the honours. After half expecting to find someone else had snagged the honours, it was a pleasant surprise to find we were to have our names first in the new log book. Great sized container here and I loved the top of Mt Edwards with it’s wonderful views. It was lovely to walk across the dam wall and see the dam. Would love to see the water level a lot higher though. At the top of Mt Edwards, answers were collected by myself and OBC. I popped the answers into my phone co-ords and we headed back down the trail. Wonderful views up here and the cool breeze was lovely.
This was the 4th of 6 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***ruzzelz*** for showing us this place

Would love to see the water level a lot higher though. At the top of Mt Edwards, answers were collected by myself and OBC. I popped the answers into my phone co-ords and we headed back down the trail. Wonderful views up here and the cool breeze was lovely.
This was the 4th of 6 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***ruzzelz*** for showing us this place
Went with the CO on the day he first scouted this out. Allowed by CO to write my name in log for after FTF had gone off....
Thanks heaps to Russell for inviting me along for the walk. Spectacular views from up there.

Accompanied Cache Owner on the hike to setup this cache and kindly allowed to log the find after completing the fantastic hike.
Thanks for the Cache!
Thanks for the Cache!
Oh wow, what an amazing corner of the world. I was lucky enough to join some friends for a trip to both Mt Maroon and Mt Edwards (yes, we are suckers for punishment!) for a fun day of caching. When our grand plans to tackle all four caches on Mt Maroon didn't pan out, we decided instead to head out and attempt an FTF for the multi on Mt Edwards. I was keen for that, so off we set. It was only half way up Mt Edwards that I realised there was an old old old cache up there - Hydro Camp! Wahoo, what an amazing bonus to an already amazing day.
After climbing up (I admit, I was breathing HARD, harder than the other two :p, but in my defense, I've done three significant climbs in five days) we collected the info required to find the multi, and the earth cache. Then we paused for rest, rehydration, body fuel, and to admire the AMAZING views. I didn't regret it - the views are well worth the pain of getting to the top. Really there is nothing better than a great hike and with great friends. Yes yes yes all the way.
Heading down the mountain we set off to the final location, anxiously awaiting to see if we were FTF. The log was not quite blank, but the signatures belonged to those with the CO while it was placed. So we celebrated, another *FTF* ! Wahoo .
In my excitement I sat down very close to a cactus which could have caused some significant pain. I will count my blessings tonight!
