A short notice trip to town and time to solve a few more select caches. I had an idea perhaps due to one of my own but then noticed something else and headed down that track. Onto what I thought was the final twist but the checker said no. I clearly hadnt included the B factor so had to PAF instead PFA TLA. With a set of coords GZ was added to the list of places to visit. I only had a low slung 2WD car but it was a hire car so as I have often found they go further than normal cars and got to within 30m of the cache (and it didnt bottom out). The hills are steep and the wind strong. Cache was spotted but not where I thought it would be and the log soon signed. As for a favourite service while I respect the Ambos I certainly never want to end up in one, the police?, well flashing lights while driving is not a good sign. Fire items are close to my work but after this puzzle maybe I need to rethink?, which would then see the Ambos come out on top. TFTCA fav pt

Out for a day of finding mainly puzzles and anything utilising a ladder or a poll. after attempting to drive here from what was almost definitely a private road, I circled around a bit and was able to get within 30-40 meters of the container.Saw my goal from aFar, and was soon utilising the correct tool to retrieve the container. In the process, the attachment device was injured. Everything that is supposed to be there, is still there. So it is still findable.Ive contacted the owner to let him know what went on.TFTC!

Adelaide and train trip Day 12. Blackwood day 4. After returning from my epic Ghan trip from Darwin to Adelaide yesterday, today was a day with a full day of caching planned. I was targeting the SFE challenges up beyond Norton Summit. I did a lot more walking than I expected and had to change my direction as some of the 'roads' I had targeted turned out to be reserve trails. I had a great day and apart from two Cherryville caches found everything I went looking for. I only just made it home in time, but it was well worth it.Having solved this one before arriving in town, I thought it would be a simple find. In the end the track to nearby the cache was not too bad, and I was able to turn around. With a tool in hand, I ventured further down and was rewarded with a sight of the cache. Next came the retrieval. It is quite a heavy cache for my pole, but it all sent well and was signed and returned as well. Thanks for the cache Brad&Janet44712.3 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Generic Gold A#11**Albida**

Tricky puzzle which took quite some time, and Panadol too! Wink I expected the hide to be in the vicinity of.... but the container was very fitting!
Thanks Brad&Janet

We arranged to catch up with Tassie Trekkers, who have been over here for a while, to do some caching around Adelaide and surrounds. The weather was typically Tasmanian, four seasons in one day with some flash flooding thrown in!

It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.

Found this cache while out caching with Tassie trekkers. Goosenegg and stainless steel rat.
Second full day in Adelaide, and we worked our way through some caches we had predetermined to do

Thank you for the cache.

All caches stamped with "Team Tassie"

November 2022 was planned as a trip to the Mega in Melbourne, so we flew from Hobart to Adelaide to find quite a few caches that we had missed last time. Some great caches were found, but the planned boat trip was canceled due to the weather. No matter the showers we found quite a few caches on the trip (Around 600) including a number with high Terrian values.

The drive-through down the Murray river on the NSW / Victoria border showed the impacts of the current floods. A number of caches planned were canceled due to the flooding. Unfortunately, many of these caches will have been lost to the flood. The Mega, as per the whole week, was on and off a wet time, even so a number of caches were still found with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Whitewebbs and Tassie Trekkers

Today we teamed up with gooseandegg, stainless-steel-rat and Budgietas to do some caches around Adelaide of different types and this was one of them.

With the required TOTT we made a quick find. We signed the logs as Team Tasmania, cache and contents were good.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We traveled for few days and collected some different stand out caches that we had picked out for this visit, thanks!

Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.

At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 11th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who traveled up from down South to join us for the day

Thanks for the cache.

Time for a weekly Wednesday wander fro the befuddled group.
Our group consisted of a Rat, Astro, a Stasrfish an d a Snake.

This week Our plan was to cache around the foothills.
The Snake picked up the Rat.
They met the Starfish and Astro at Glen Osmond.

We got into the Starfish's geo mobile to start our adventure today.
I solved this puzzle, with a migraine after looking at the flashing pictures.
Persisted and solved the puzzle.
Then the coords sat in the GPS, until today.

The geo mobile parked in safe spot, the group, then went for a short wander.
The cache was quickly located and logbook stamped, c ache replaced where we found it.
It was a lovely day to wander around the foothills.Tftc

A very neat cache indeed. It was possibly that one may have thought they were on some sort of illicit drugs as after staring at this cache page, ....CoolCoolRazz flashing pics can result in some weird ocular manifestations.CoolSurprisedSurprised[xx(]

We drove the track and aimed at a logical park spot which turned out to be about 30m from the cache. The cache was soon spied. We spun the wheels a number of times as we left the cache location, as you do...........

Thanks to Brad&Janet and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

The usual Wednesday Wander for members of Befuddled Puzzle solving group had us heading once again in search of solved puzzles and anything else we might be passing. Today it was myself, Blackadders, SA Sewer Rats and Astro. [:o)] Meeting at Glen Osmond we headed into the foothills doing a few short but steep walks. Cool

The puzzle was a lot of fun. Step 1 done and that gives - okay those ones. Razz Now what.[?] Very clever step this one to give me some coordinates. Razz Once again a FP earned at the puzzle stage. [:X] So onto GZ we went and like the previous finder we drove to and found a park just 30 metres from GZ. Then it was time for the Snake to do some pole fishing, (he doesn't trust me with his pole since I broke it at the last B&J double pole cache.) Surprised Luckily the Snake's Pole was enough this time and despite the wind in the gully he soon had it in our hands. Smile And then back it went without dropping it which was good as I am sure it could roll a hundred metres down the slope without trying. Big Grin

Great puzzle - great cache.

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again I will trying to get the other two this year. [^] Should be easy as I only have to get two multi caches in July from the lockdown and couldn't get out. [:o)] The other was DNF's that came down from over 50 to the low teens before blowing out again but I really want to see only single a single digit this year. Cool

***Thanks Brad&Janet for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

The usual Wednesday wander for the befuddled targeting a few of the higher terrain hides around the hills. This involved some climbing, uphill hiking and the use of vertical TOTT's.

Most were found in a good condition with a few needing some attention by the owners.

Thank you for the cache Brad&Janet, found 30/03/2022, 4:33:41 PM

Found It!
A nice little puzzle that I slowly worked my way through and soon had a tick on the checker. When I was a small child, the toys were tractors, headers and trucks (and not the fire kind). Although Santa used to arrive on a firetruck each year for some reason. Anyhow today I drove to within 30m of GZ, then got the long stick out and walked down to GZ. The wind made things a bit difficult but I soon had the cache in hand!

Today was a great opportunity for a quick Sunday afternoon trip past a few high T caches that require a TOTT.

This cache was a bit further out of the way than I envisaged. Police cars, ambulances and fire trucks can probably drive to 30m from GZ, but I wasn’t going to risk my little KIA.

Still it was only 250m in the end and a nice stroll to boot. The cache was spotted quickly and now I’m an expert with this tool (ahum) the retrieval and replacement went without a glitch.

I wish I could say the same of the puzzle. I really made that one a lot harder than I needed to.

In the end puzzle, location and container together definitely deserve an FP!

Drove to 30m the cache. A short stroll later the pole was erected. Cache retrieved. Who are you gonna call? Tried to ring 000. The mobile phone did not work at the cache location. You will need the sat phone if you have an emergency here. Or you could activate the EPIRB.

Did a 15 point turn and left the hill side with no mobile coverage.

Cache was found in the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Well we did return and achieved success!

It seems that the CO took pity on our poor attempt to retrieve the cache and very generously offered some assistance. After arranging a suitable time we were able to meet up this afternoon. Brad had a TOTT and with some coaching from the sidelines, the cache was soon in hand. With the first page of the logbook now full, we were happy to turn the page and add our name!

This cache had all the things we enjoy most about about geocaching - a cleverly crafted puzzle, a spectacular final location and the chance to meet people that we wouldn't otherwise cross paths with. Many thanks to the CO, not only for crafting a quality cache, but for going above and beyond to help us make the find.

At the breakfast club this morning I was still stuck on the second step of this puzzle, I had made quick work of the first but I kept getting no where that really helped. I had something that looked promising and played around with that but the CO said nope. Back to the drawing board and I had ideas but nothing came of them.
At the event this morning an idea was given and it was the right one. Well how did I miss this and can understand the FTF had a good advantage on this one.
Freddo was keen to find this one and the TOTT in the car we set off to find it. Got fairly close to GZ and soon found the cache up were it needed to be, Freddo made quick work and the cache was in hand.

Sounds like sour grapes to me...

There is absolutely no advantage to being a copper, firie, or ambo in the solving of this puzzle. If anything it was a disadvantage! Ask the others with a tick.

08-Aug-20
It seems that the solving of the puzzle is the easy part of this cache! We arrived at GZ today while out walking and spotted the cache, only to realise that we were inadequaely prepared for it's retrieval! We will return.

Lockchick's affinity with certain types of vehicles led her desire to get this solved.
Alas, I can say that inside knowledge of my profession only helped identify what was missing, and not what was needed to solve. So some old-fashioned brain-storming coupled with a modern method got us to the first point, 2 days ago!
Then a lot of staring at flashing vehicles, aha moments (usually followed by the regular 'Doh' moment), re-analysing, and following red herrings (some were CO's, but mostly they were of our own making), eventually led to the face slap moment and it all came together rather quickly after that, closely followed by the checker's approval.
Then all that was left to do was to finish a rare nightshift, and get to GZ asap.
Arriving only a minute apart, we soon spotted the forlorn cammo, which wasn't going to be easy to retrieve!
Doing our best Richard Dean Anderson impersonation, we retrieved, hi-fived the blank logbook, then replaced, before rushing off to work and home.
Thanks for stretching the brain here ...
It was a fun start to the day...
Dropped my *FTF* geocoin through for the joint FTF at 0743, my 2nd high D/T of B&J's in 6 days.

Thanks
