Aloha! Sitting in Tombstone Hotel/Motel/Backpacker Hostel wasting time until our walk to the train station for our next scenic train ride, to Christchurch. What is this? A traditional cache in or near the cemetery across the street? Why are we sitting here? Lets gooooo! Sometimes you should listen to the written word, not your own head. After glancing at the gps, straight up we went. Yep, straight up the cemetery. Sometimes were just not too smart! What a huff and a puff getting to the top only to find that we know longer at cache data. We could use the gps for navigating but no other data available. Off we go on a relatively straight line. Whew! Made it to ground zero, had a look about where the gps put us, within acceptable range, took a guess (searched a bit), and BINGO! cache in hand. Back at Tombstone(dont you love the name?) logging this cache and leaving for the station. TFtaking us on a walk&C! Aloha!Note: Log and container were wet. Dried as best possible, added substance to hopefully soak up the condensation until the next cacher, and returned where found. Sorry we couldnt do more.
In Picton today picking up people at the ferry so arrived early and had time to do some Geocaching TFTC
Tftc - nice location.Container had about a cm of water in so everything is sodden. Ive dried it out but only had one tissue. Leave the container upside to keep water out.

Driving from Christchurch to Wellington today to attend the epic geocaching trip to Mana Island on Sunday. It would be silly to not grab a few random caches on the way up the island.Ended up being 20 minutes early for the final check in time for the ferry... YES! Just enough time to find a cache or two.It was dark by this stage so searching took a little longer than it probably should have, but soon found, logged and replaced. Thanks for the cache. Off to the ferry with 10 minutes to spare!!
Nice walk through town and out to find some caches. Nice easy find thanks! No pen so bring your own
Coords off by 7 meters . Lots of trash by the cache. Not a pretty one. Found and signed on our last day in the south island.
Just arrived from the North Island heading over to Blenheim, but took my time to stop for a cache or two or three Well foundTftc
During our trip through New Zealand while waiting for the crossing to the North Island, we still had time for a few geocaches. Thank you very much to CO for making this available. With a friendly Dutch geocach greeting.
The colour of the container blends in well with the surroundings. Although we had the hint, there were many objects to check as both devices were sending us around the back away from the road. Too much rubbish in the area due to lazy dumpers and one item I am sure was illegal. Anyway cache found, log signed and we headed off again. tftcCollected the tb#7098
**19,946**A nice quick find here, hint pretty clear so didnt have to work too hard, although has to toggle the cache out with fingers. Dont blame it for not wanting to get out of bed in this weather! LOL TFTC
4 for 4 today. I'm in Picton for five hours after barely missing the ferry. TFTC
Tftc, the coordinates are a little off, but after a bit of searching it was soon in hand
I went in from the wrong side of the vegetation, but not the nicest place, full of rubbish and evidence of nighttime activities. I retrieved myself and approach from the other side but still a lot of rubbish. Located the cache eventually.
Decided to head up to Picton for some caching. Enjoyed a stroll here through the cemetery. GPS was off but hint and previous comments got me there in the end. Sadly it looks like some people decide to drop the rubbish before getting to the transfer centre. Thanks for the smiley
Eventually found - some rubbish in the area and a decoy painted stone in a nearby tree.

The phone GPS was not very good today, took a while to find it and found a few interesting things on the way. Cheers
I need a cache for Blue Switch day. Yesterday I failed to find the cache I was looking for. So today this one was on my radar. Thankfully found after a short search. Cheers
Took a bit of looking around but did find it in the end... But it was dark out there when I was at GZ. Cheers for the smiley
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.
Found with Fisha1288
Cheers, Cympull.

I was on a cruise around New Zealand on the Noordam with my sister, Piney Wood Walkers, my brother, Cloiud9Hikers and their spouses. We were in Picton for the day with nothing to do but explore the city by caching. My favorite kind of shore excursion. Greetings from Minnesota MN.
Walked through the cemetery on my way to GZ. Used the hint to get signed in. TFTC SL

Found today while hoping / waiting to catch the ferry. So I went for a quick check. Log is very wet but still able to write on it. Thank you for the cache.
A well camoed container. It took me a double take to spy it. Our ferry to welly is delayed so had time to pick up this cache. Pleased to get it so that we can maintain our streak. This is day 64. Cache and contents are all fine. Thanks for the placement.
Found with judithrichards and kaz53. While they are visiting in their motorhomes
I looked at the right spot but didn't see the cx. There was some rubbish around, which, upong careful examination, turned out to be the cx. It was opened and in pieces, so I put it all back together and hid it securely in the tree. TFTC.
Found using the hint after GPS sent us hither and thither. Filling in time before checkin as our ferry sailing was delayed.
GPS had us a bit lost We managed to find though, definitely is a park and grab next to the rd TFTH
Easy find. Oldest date of death we could find in the cemetery was 1866. Can anyone find an older date?
The GPS must have been hung over
Found it
Emptied out the water, dried the log, and the baggie
Replaced

Having just delivered half the family to the ferry, it was far too early to head back home. So, I used a chunk of my precious mobile data (I can't afford to be on one of those fancy unlimited ones yet) and made a plan for a couple in Picton and a few on the way back to reach the summit of whatever this months peak is. This was the first. Easy peasy. Dried off the water proof paper and it was all good to log.
Since my original plan of being in Auckland this long weekend is not possible, I decided to head South for a couple of days. Took the ferry from Wellington yesterday morning, picked up a cheap rental, and off I went. I was targeting some specific caches for a personal goal as well as some fun mystery solves and some just 'cos. This was one of them.
All good here, found without too much trouble. TFTC

Heading on a geo adventure with BCD to the top of the South Island...Picton, Blenheim, Havelock and Nelson.
Day 1
Arrived in Picton and time to explore. Took a bit of back and forth to locate this one but got to it in the end TFTC

Lots of muggles turning around as the gates were closed. Managed to find it without attracting to much attention. TFTC
Found on my way for a few nights in the Marlborough sounds. Had a target to get and am nearly there
In the South Island from Tauranga on a six week holiday and now following the PWGT. I hope to have the tour completed before I get home. Today is a day in Picton to gather a few extra smileys. Nicely concealed. Had me going in circles for a while.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

After two weeks in the South Inland we are heading home. In Picton waiting for the ferry to sail. Thanks GH6710 for the cache.
Today I'm on my way from Nelson to Picton to catch the ferry to Wellington en route to Auckland. I passed through Marlborough and Blenheim and found a few caches along the way. I was also quiite focused on completing the Solar System quest as well. Here I found the Asteroid Belt and the cache. I parked near the cemetery and walked along to GZ. I overshot by a few metres then bnacktracked to the right spot and spotted the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
Caching our way to Blenheim today. Having just found the AdLab bonus this cache popped up on the radar. Made the short diversion and a quick find.
