This morning I attended the Rockier Saturday Social at Rocks Riverside Park and afterwards I told everyone that I needed to go home and prod my teenagers to do some study. When I arrived at home they were both working hard and I realised that they didn't need me around, so I headed out for the afternoon and drove down to Beenleigh to search for a few more caches with the off-road attribute. This was my first target cache and a very interesting area. One minute you are on a suburban street and the next you are driving down a country road. As I drove down the road a number of vehicles were pulling in to a nearby field to begin harvesting. At GZ, I waded in through the grass and soon found the cache. Getting it out of it's hole proved to be the biggest challenge here. I am well known to have super skinny wrists and even I struggled. In the end I resorted to finding a nearby TOTT to help me and somehow I still ended up with scratches all up my arm. Thanks robotpickle for placing this cache! It was a fun challenge and a great place to come and see.
Teamed up with Snickersallan, Granny Smith 1947 and chamad on the hunt for the Multis Jigsaws, Wherigos and whatever took our fancy whilst out on our travels within the Logan shire. What a fantastic selection of caches and containers on offer for GC LOGAN event. It was great to be with my usual buddies, delightful to meet up with new ones and strengthening our ties. Thanks so much to GC Logan team for arranging events and placing caches for our enjoyment.
We have been attending all of the GCLogan activities and events; enjoying the events and caching activities, I teamed up with Bluewattle, Grannysmith and Snickersallan as we worked our way around the areas collecting the new caches, and even some older ones. We managed to attend most events, a few citos and some meal events. It was great to see the many different faces turning up to the different events. Today we are heading to a few caches and a couple of the events. Our team was happy to grab a whereigo or a UGO as they are known down this way. I am glad we got to do these as a group, we always seem to run into issues like the phone dying or the app dies off so there is safety in numbers. We then started a few multi caches as well. Between events and cache runs we also stopped at a few to clean out an area or stopped at for a particular reason. This was one of those that we did on the way and early this morning, we signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for placing.
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - Robot Pickle [^]
This was the second pleasant stroll to a cache today. No traffic noise, just a lot of birds and two pilots on the way to Archerfield. The cache took a bit of finding. Obviously, I was in "commune with nature" mode and wasn't giving it my full attention. When I did find, it, I had a devil of a time retrieving it. Finally managed to put my name in the logbook and then noticed a second box in there. "How curious", I thought. I wondered about retrieving it, but it was almost 600 metres to the van, and I'd already signed one cache.
I did not attempt this one today as I was a bit wary of the no entry authorised persons only and construction site signs. Maybe another time. Thanks for the placement.
As we were in Eaglby ,we head out to sign the log on this cache , so we can take it off our to do list. Its a bit over grown here but we mamage to add our name to the log. Tftc
This cache needs a "brush cutter required" attribute at the moment as the grass is chest high after all the rain. On arrival my courage almost failed me as I pondered what may be lurking in the jungle between me and the prize, you really could have hidden an army in there! I stamped around a bit before plunging into the greenery and after taking the long way round and checking the wrong level I finally spotted the cache. I did have some difficulty extracting it from it's hide, I think the tree may have had a growth spurt too. Got my name on the log before making a hasty exit. Was very surprised and even more relieved that the only snake I encountered today was the plastic one in the cache.TFTC
GC8ZW4P Dead End 2.0Out for a day of caching with KerriMG. This one was on our radar thanks to an attribute I read the hint and suggested the road on our map might be a red herring. Poor KerriMG was devastated as we pulled over to watch a tractor come the other way. Stop and lock the gate behind him. Yep we have to walk. If only we hadnt seen that bemoaned KerriMG. It ended up being an easy walk but after searching high and low in the overgrown grass we resorted to reading previous logs. Then it was a quick find. With nearby sticks to help us we soon the cache in hand. TFTC robotpickle
I had been meaning to visit this geocache, but I never had the time to make the walk from the end of the road. However, with this cache being only one of a couple left to find, it became a suitable target, and [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) and I enjoyed our nice walk to GZ. After a few minutes of searching, we found the cache well-wedged. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks robotpickle for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. ---------- Following [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14)'s Brisbane morning arrival, the Logan evening catch-up event [Logan Geocaching Catchup - November '23](https://coord.info/GCAEZC6) would be a good excuse to meet the locals.Subsequently this evening, [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) and I drove south and planned to be early to beat the M1 congestion. With our spare time, we first visited a few of my unfound geocaches in Eagleby, and then headed "across the road" to Logan River Parkland, where we completed the [Explore Logan River Parklands](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/087b6cb3-13c0-45ff-b092-40cbcb5882a9) Adventure Lab. It was then time for the dinner event, and we discussed how everyone was introduced to then become geo-addicts. Interestingly enough, all but [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) were introduced by a friend, so perhaps we need to do more to encourage our networks to partake in our enjoyable hobby?
Cache found in the first place I looked.Freddo traveled north from deep south to catch up with friendly Liz and Bruce and the RV Home base crew. David Wazza provided a sturdy vehicle and we traveled in style. We had good weather. Not to hot. Not to rainy. Lovely one day and perfect the next. The caches were found in a blur of Which Is Next and Where Are We Going Now. Some caches were harder to find than others. Some caches we could see from the car. Regardless all caches were found in the last place we looked.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Tftc, however, we could not physically pry it out from its location. It was physically stuck
this thing is mega jammed, my arms too big and tried to use sticks to prop it up but they all broke tftc tho
Before today’s event in Springwood, I came down to Eagleby for a few target caches with an attribute that I’m needing for a challenge.
It was a pleasant walk to gz - I saw blue wrens, finches, sea eagles, an egret and a Willy wagtail plus ducks - a great spot for birdwatching.
At gz, I searched in a few places then saw the well hidden cache. It was a bit tricky to retrieve and I drew some blood. All good besides that. Tftc

Very hard spot to access but very cool! Cache was empty but a little army dude so i filled it up for the next person
Thanks for the cache! All.ij good working order! I attempted this cache to get a trackable called the Key, however there is no trackable in this cache! Regardless, beautiful walk to get this cache
This is my first cache and forgot my pen!! Good walk though (coming back to write my name down)
No one is going to come across this cache by mistake!!!! Was definitely among lots of noise to make sure any snakes stayed away!!!
Found it on the ground so put it a bit higher to stop it getting lost next time it floods down here.
You really feel alone down at the end of this road, serene. Thanks for the cache!

On arriving at GZ some very high grass protected the prize.
Do I don’t I. Oh well let’s give it a go.
Yes
Signed and back to the car

Found with BCCS today thank for thanks for the cache (and the walk) despite little miss and little man’s disgust haha
Managed to get it out of its spot after the last user reported it stuck. Was a battle, but we got there! Signed the log, popped the lid on and placed it back in a different part of its hiding spot to make it easier for the next person to sign. Thanks for the cache!
Found it, butttttt.... its really stuck and all i got was the lid, ive tried building something to stand on to get it but im way to short.
A lovely walk in the later afternoon. Cache found quickly. Thank you for placing
Took the walk and enjoyed the serenity to GZ . Thrre were some ducks happily swimming nearby and once at GZ I focused on the wrong tree but once in the right spot found the cache all good. Thanks for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
It was overcast and threatening rain as we pulled up at the end of the road but we needed to find this one to drop off a TB.
We took off towards the dead end and were greeted by birds, cows and ducks pretty much the whole way down. We felt the temperature drop around the lake area and were amazed at the amount of weed floating on top. It honestly looks like a grass field that you could easily run across.
We were almost at the cache when I noticed my daughter shivering. It was so chilli and windy down here now, even with a jumper on she was cold. I offered up my jumper to keep her warm just as the rain came over. We hustled to GZ where we found it just laying on the ground with no teather. We quickly signed in, dropped in the TB and replaced in the fork of the tree out of sight.
We had to jog it back to the car to avoid getting too wet, luckily it had turned into a light shower on the way back.
Thanks again robopickle, awesome location.

A dead end, but a busy route anyway. Runners, walkers, bikes and dogs. Lucky for me they were all heading out as I headed in.
TFTC!! And thanks to whoever left the flamingo car airfreshener in the cache to swap. I needed a new one
Quick easy cache to find. Cute place and was able to take the geodogs with us.

I had time before my Bowling League to find a few caches and this was the first on my list. I have not been down this area before and I was surprised to find a well known establishment at the parking spot. The walk to the cache from there was a bit chilly but at least it was flat and paved. The cache was quickly located and I signed the dry section of the log. I assume that the cache has been under water during the last flood. From a sign on a fence along the way I wonder if this road will be used for the construction of a M1 alternate route in the near future.

The Ittybitties were staying for a few days. Next we headed to this cache. I pakred the geomobile and we took a lovely stroll to GZ. There, the cache was quickly locatedd and the log signed. We were almost back at the geomobile when it began to rain lightly. Luckily, we were safe and dry before the rain began to come down heavily. Thank you for the lovely walk and TFTC
Easy find after a long walk. Be prepared because there is a gate about 600m from the cache. Nice long walk on a hot day. Saw plenty of birds

Wow what a hot walk that was lol. Was a quick find for which I was thankful for lol.Left some swappables .Thank you
The council have just installed a gate on the road blocking traffic as there has been a spate of people dumping rubbish down the far end.
You will now need to walk approximately 500 metres from the gate to the cache.

We decided we need to spend a bit more time cleaning up our map around the southern realms so today we headed south to start at Upper Coomera & work our way north to Eagleby.
#28 of 27 smilies earned today!
Hey, I never said I could count!
Our last for today.
Serenity indeed, so quiet & lovely out here away from the rush.
A quick find where all is good.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Geocaching definitely takes you places you’ve never been. Have lived in this area for 40 years and have never been on this road. Surprised to see the cane farms didn’t realise this part of Eagleby had so much farmland. Thanks CO for bringing me here and for the quick find.
Heading south to attend a long awaited Logan Geocaching Meeting and could not find at least one cache while there. Quick and easy find, log signed and all replaced as found. TFTC
I checked on this cache today and it is 100% in good condition and complete. The last couple of logs appear to have been referring to part of an old container which I have now removed.
Quite peaceful out here at the end of the road and a bit trashed just beyond where the road ends.
Half the container is still missing but the waterproof paper left by the last finder is doing its job. Jammed it against the sign for extra protection but a strong wind will probably blow it free again.
TFTC!

The daily find for the day.
The container is now high and dry but half of it might be missing.
Added a piece of water proof log to the container.
Plenty of water around today
Thank you for hiding this geocache robotpickle

In the area to collect a few of the newer caches and to attempt to rectify a DNF or two... after working my way through the roadworks I pulled up to this very quiet GZ... the cache was easy to spot as it was exposed and on the ground... I made my mark and considering the amount of water that comes through here put it into the tree... I don’t like its chances of staying there though... perhaps a rethink on the cache container so that it sits up high easier...
Thanks for bringing me here today robotpickle...

I will head out and check on this one in the next few days as soon as the water subsides.
FTF @ 2039 26/03/2021.
Let me preface this with I was very lucky. Cruising down the road, in the pitch black and noticed a small amount of water on the road. Got out, checked the water and it was barely anything.
Got back in and started driving through. Looked at the flood gauge and it showed 0.1m (well I thought it said 0.1). All of a sudden, the water was above the bonnet line and not looking good. As I got to the flood gauge, I realised that what I was referencing was a stick up against it and it was really 600mm deep.
Having no choice but to continue (never stop in water!) I nervously pushed on until all of a sudden the water level had dropped and i was out the other side. Checked the brakes, got out and checked the car, no damage. Mrs Rogersclan would've killed me if I had destroyed our brand new 4WD (it's only got 2500 kms on the clock).
As I'm walking around the car with the torch, I actually kicked the cache - well that was an easy find. As I suspected the flooding had come through and has since relocated the cache (and unfortunately damaged it. The container itself is fine, but very waterlogged and the log has been destroyed.
I tipped the water out, but it really needs a replacement log and a good towel in there to dry everything out. I've hidden it by a tree out of sight roughly where the coords were pointing to preserve it until you can safely get to it.
Sat there for quite some time contemplating camping here for the night, but being in such a tidal area, I was afraid the tide would come up further so I pushed on through again.
Such an adventure, never again. I rescue people who get stuck in flood waters for a living, I never thought I'd ever find myself in that situation and I'm so very grateful I got out ok. No smiley is worth writing off a car for or worse.
Will never forgot this cache, that's for sure. Thanks Robotpickle, be interesting if they ever do put this new highway through here.
