Logs
Found it or didnt find it? We pulled the string and pipe was full of ants. Could see something in the hole in the ground but couldnt get it out so ???????????
Good spot and took me to a part of manly I have never seen before, love these kinda caches, log extremely wet, cause was that the lid was not replaced by a previous cachet and so flooded with water, so wet that it ripped when I attempted to log, need replacement badly, recommend a waterproof log next time if available, nonetheless, TFTC =)
Found it, and attempted retrieval, but the top of the container is broken and it no longer floats to the top, it needs some TLC, thanks.
Great idea for the cache. I think the log is now missing or stuck at the bottom of the outer case so might need some maintenance! TFTC.
We used to walk by here on our regular walks down to Manly. No problem locating the cache. The cap to the inner container is damaged, so the log is no longer waterproof. All good at the moment though. Thanks for placing.
Today me and batapus16 were introducing our friend Adam to geocaching. Todays journey started at the Seaforth Library where this was a new for both of them. After that we got the 172X bus to the first cache of my very own burnt bridge series which was also a first for batapus as well. Towards the end of the track, Adam wanted to find my first ever hide Escape from North Balgowlah. Making that pitstop, I gave them my phone so they could at least find all my premium caches. After the walk we made a stop at dominoes for a 4 dollar pizza, before we went to the community garden where for some reason they both couldnt find it leaving to me to give them hints. Anyway after that batapus had to leave and me and adam continued to this cache. After walking down Innes road we arrived at the Hidden reserve. After reading the description we looked around to see what we needed to be looking for. After checking our bags Adam had a bottle but it wasnt enough to retrieve the cache. This is where I had the genius plan to use the nearby river to refill the bottle. Whilst adam held the water back, I bolted back and forth 3 times between him and the river. Soon enough on the 3rd run we saw the cache float to the surface. The cache itself was quite damaged but the log was in a bag still in decent condition. I found this cache quite fun deserves more favourites, **AWARDS FAVOURITE POINT**. Thanks for this epic cache, I already did the one at the dam, but this one was just as cool.#149, TFTC!
#12991 18:35Luckily I always carry a waterbottle in the car, just in case I get thisty or encounter a cache that needs water. So with these TOTT the cache was found. A bit of maintenance from the CO might be needed though.TFTC Decnet101
Cool cache and a lovely walk with the geodog. My GPS said GZ was 5m away when I was standing next to the cache. Got everything out successfully - internal container broken and log wet. Couldn't unroll as the paper just tore. Good to find tho. TFTC
We found a yellow capped hole that we thought the cache was in. I used my entire water bottle in the hole and it didn’t fill all the way. We also found a weird capsule that had a weird light or something in it. Other than that, we can’t find another spot it could be in.
(2 of 3 today)
Not a fun caching day this afternoon...
Headed to the Warringah area to keep those find numbers moving.
I went for five caches but had two DNFs - both of which had been found in the last 7 days.
One of the caches I did find was painful - literally as well as mentally. Another was in a bad state. Both resulted in difficulties accessing the log.
And the other find - in a playground. Always a favourite... [:p]
Sigh.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Parked close and walked to GZ. Quick find - oh, one of these. Went back to *The Hademobile* for he required tool and returned for the retrieve. Took two goes - finger not on hole properly the first time.
Yes, there is real difficulty removing the log - even with a tool or two. The inner container is cracked - ie not watertight - probably as a result of the log issues. Even so, managed to sign the log and replace.
OK, lets go back to that playground and hope it's empty.

I found the cache shell, I have seen this type before so I knew what to do. Did what I had to do but no cache rise to the surface.
Found the cache but couldn’t get the log out! There were ants nesting in the cache.
Found it. Cache is in reasonable shape - the paper is dry. Interesting hide - TFTC.
My GPS had me searching about 10m away in no man’s land … might be worth checking.

As stated in previous logs, the grass is over grown but is still findable, I may try moving it but as said it is still findable, I will go down again to check the cache out. Thanks
Please note, this is a puzzle to retrieve a container, not a regular container, you need to find something to put water into, more in description.
Sadly we couldn’t find it. GPS led us to a patch of grass but could not find a container or somewhere to add water! Would love a clue if that’s possible as we bike past here regularly. Thank you!
We had some water in the car so we used the water but then we could not get the piece of paper out because we had no idea tweezers!! It was by far the most fun out of the four today!!
Found the cache before reading the description. Luckily, sandysa had a coffee mug with her which we used to complete the task! Log was signed and all returned. TFTC!
Came prepared for this one, however, I left the TOT in the car and had to walk back after reaching the cache. A nicely crafted container in reasonably quiet spot, should last the test of time.
Thanks for placing this cache Decnet101.

Glad to find this cache restored: Beautiful part of the world I hadn’t seen before: TFTC
Disappointed on first visit to cache as it had been muggled but this time found. These are very clever caches and deserves a fav. TFTC
We wandered to and fro without spotting what turned out to be a well-disguised hide. Once found, we were fully prepared and signed the new sheet. Thanks Decnet101 .
I’m disabling this cache because I need to wait for the new container to arrive, further announcements will be written in the logs.
Lovely part of the world. We found the cache but no container. Ran into another geocacher, we all searched to see if the container had been discarded nearby, but it appears to have been muggled. Needs maintenance
A little slack in updating my logs... entering in Jan for Dec.
Bumped into some other cachers also looking for this cache... container is there but cache is missing. I can see owner has temporarily disabled so all good. I will be back when things are sorted

Came here from manly on foot on my across to collect the hire car, With enough water in my drink bottle the cache was open and out in no time the log book some getting out but is all good.
With a few days of not much going on in Adelaide, I was deciding what to do for the next few days. For some reason Sydney seemed like a good choice and within 6hours I was off and away. With a last minute decision came a last minute plan of what I was going to go and find and as usual it changed but still got most of what I came for. A few DT fill-ins for my next loop, high favourites and JASMAR caches I was yet to find including the oldest in Aus: Lane Cove. Day 1: I arrived in Sydney late in the evening and had booked to stay at the rocks, I got off the train at an early stop and collected a few caches in the city along my path and a few lab caches. Day 2 I was up nice and early and went for nice run along the foreshore collecting some cache from the opera house to Walsh bay, I then headed over to manly and a nice walk around the area before picking up the free hirer car collecting a few caches on my way to lane cove. I later headed north to central coast to 2 Multis I was keen to tick off before arriving back in the city suburbs for the evening. I continued driving around the suburbs collecting LGAs and that continued on for day 3 before going to Bondi for some nice walks along the rock faces and the beach. As I had to drop the car back at lunch time I headed back into the city for the afternoon to collect the rest of the caches I had missed that were possible in the time I had left.
A total of 86 finds and 37 adventure labs for the trip.
Thanks for the cache

Understandable why this reserve is hidden given what's underneath it! A well-constructed container that I came prepared for. Not really watching what was going on, I ended up getting sprayed with the results of my retrieving - ha, ha! SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Looking for something to get me out of the house today I decided to come over to North Manly or is this Manly Vale and grab this one as I know the area, a bit. At least I remember the big Golf Ball that used to be near here.
In hindsight it probably wasn't such a good idea as there was a breakdown on the Spit Hill so it was very slow going. Seemed to slow down the traffic in both directions too.
Fortunately the cache was straightforward.
Parked the geomobile and headed across the paddock with the cache camo coming into view as I walked.
Carrying the right geocaching aids I soon had the cache in my hot little hand. Getting the log out proved a bit more tricky. You need long tweezers!
I vaguely remember there being a problem with runoff from this site contaminating the creek during one of our 'wet' Sydney seasons some years back. Don't think I'd want to live beside this land!

Found this on 6/10/2020 but logged the day after. A cracking little cache with similarities to another in the Dam - we were therefore well equipped (and stayed dry this time)! Our dog didn’t love the long grass near this one and came out covered in hundreds of burs.
Today we headed over the Spit Bridge and into AussiePam territory, to have a go at the CO’s “Bucket Full of Blues” Adventure Lab and new “Seawall” MultiCache. Parked the geomobile at Kirribilli and then walked the streets of Milsons Point, Lavender Bay, Blues Point, McMahons Point, and North Sydney to complete our mission. Afterwards, on our way back home, we stopped off at a new Traditional cache at Manly Vale for our final cache find of the day. This was the 8th of 8 finds for the day.
Stopped off at this new cache on our way back home from North Sydney, parking the geomobile at the end of Addiscombe Road and then wandering into the reserve for a look. Quickly spotted a very familiar style of cache, which looks much the same as our own creation over at Manly Dam (Water Research Laboratory), so we knew exactly what needed to be done. And yes it also functions exactly the same as ours (nice and efficient in it's operation), so we soon had CIH. Signed the log sheet and then replaced (reset) everything as it had been found.
We were quite familiar with the large garbage incinerator that used to be at Balgowlah North (end of Condover Street, where Condover Reserve is nowadays) which was closed in 1954, but we didn’t know much about this nearby one. Thanks Decnet101 for the history & cache.

Decnet101 I found your cache The hidden Reserve on 29/9/20, 3:05 pm. This is my find 2727 and find # 7 today. Seen this type of cache before therefore knew what had to be done. One of the better ones I’ve seen. Well done. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
I arrived just at dusk, and fortunately checked the description before leaving the very, and I had sufficient water with me.

Right time, right place for us today.
A very pretty reserve and plenty of TOTT resources nearby.

Right place, wrong time for the FTF. We happened to be in the area for the Manly Dam AL, so a visit after grabbing the bonus. Had plenty water to extract the cache and trusty tweezers to remove the log. Added our monikers and replaced as found. Neat idea. TFTC
