Find number 14578 at 1:00:36pm on Friday the 8 November 2024Out galavanting around this city doing chores, chasing up bits and pieces and grabbing the odd geocache here and there It turned out to be a big trip though as I skirted right around the city before returning home about six hours later.A nice quick multi, nice and quite and another smilie **Thanks for placing this cache Robmc**---*WOW, so much happening at home in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
Did some careful counting and came up with coordinates inside someone's house... Recounted and found my mistake, maybe I should go back to primary school! Short walk to GZ and cache was quickly found, signed, and replaced. Tftc
I found this cache today on a trip past Yarraville. After doing the counts, of which I often get one wrong, it looked like a likely spot to be. It turned out to be correct and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks from D B-A
Quick and simple multi, but I had a nagging suspicion I had mucked up a figure.A second count/check and trip to my calculated GZ led to the welcome find. Thanks heaps for adding to the playing board.
I tend to avoid playground caches given that I am male and generally cache on my own, however I was in the area and the playground was empty so was able to get the co-ordinated relatively quickly. Getting to the cache was a little more difficult given the jogging muggles.Daily streak: 480
Second multi cache! Woke up at 7:00 to take the geo-dog for a walk, and decided to find this one on the way. Very fun and simple, and coordinates are quite accurate once I found the cache.TFTC
No mini or maxi muggles around, so I collected the clues and walked to GZ for a quick find.
Working in this area and when I finished early, thought I would go for a stroll from Tottingham to Spotswood collecting geocaches on the way. 7 finds, 2 DNFs and 1 Multicache I started but wanted to take me back the way I came. Not bad for 2 hours and over 7 kilometres walked. Almost got the targeted 20 caches in this LGA now.Fortunately the muggle kids were just leaving as I arrived. After they left, I has the place to myself and was soon able to find the Geocache in good condition. Thanks for the cache Rob MCHunter
Found at 12:46Time for the next section of Stony Creek. Luckily the weather was not great so I was able to collect the required information without worrying about any muggles. A short walk and a quick find followed. Thanks Robmc for the cache
My first ever multi cache wasnt quite sure how to use the coordinates but found my way there eventually
Out today for some walking and caching. I chose Stony Creek and Kororoit Creeks to walk some and drive some - truly a Robmc day with all caches belonging to him. After doing the counts and calculating GZ, it was a short trip there and a quick find.
Thanks to Robmc for the cache.
Thanks to Robmc for the cache.
The wind and overcast skies made it a perfect time to hit this one as we had the playground totally to ourselves. We explored the equipment counting the necessary clues and made a logical set of coordinates for gz. Not to much longer and we had our name in the logbook.
Thanks Robmc for the multi placement.

We were up in the city for the Cachemas in July celebration in Kensington. What do country people do after such an event in a part of the city you haven’t visited much in your life? Go caching! I wanted a multi to fill a gap in my calendar, so this looked suitable for a quick find before heading home. The playground was deserted when arrived so collecting the required information without being too worried about muggles being concerned with our presence. A short walk to GZ lead to a quick find. Thanks for providing this cache to extend our caching fun and introducing us to this unexpected location Robmc.
Yay my first multi! Thanks Robmc - that was fun! Very rewarding indeed! Cache is in perfect condition- just a few cobwebs to contend with but that wasn’t a problem.

I was now making my way towards home but at the same time, avoiding the freeway and going the back streets to the bridge.
When you go a different way, you come across all these caches that you would normally miss, this being one of them.
I don't mind done a multi or 2, so I couldn't pass this one by, once all the info was collected, I headed to GZ where a SPOR was spotted from a distance and sure enough, it was where the cache is.
**Thanks to Robmc for placing this cache.**

Thanks Robmc, for another great find. A quiet little corner away from the noise of the freeway construction. Once the playground had been explored, the short stroll to the GZ was easy. Standing & appreciating the trees, plants & song of the pobblebonks provided a good diversion from the muggles walking their pups on the bike path. A quick find with spot on coordinates & fresh dry log.

The original plan had us likely to head elsewhere, but Rebel Acts was called on to take some keen horse fanatics to Equitania at the showgrounds. He was going to be in the area all day so we decided to meet him as we had been looking for the chance to drop our granddaughter's bike back at her home nearby anyway. We were also joined by Omegaman which led to a fun day with lots of stories and gentle sledging. A great day out that took us to a number of places we had not visited before.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Robmc.

With Rebel Acts marooned on this side of the city for the day it was a perfect excuse to put some smiles on the map and feed my OCD regarding finding all of the current sidetracked caches in Victoria.
Was great to finally do some caching with Ski pair, and share some caching stories.
Cheers for the cache

I had to drop the girls off a Equitana at the show grounds to today and pick them up some twelve hours later so plans were made with my caching friends to meet up to do a few caches for the day we started in the western suburbs before feeding our Side tracked obsession and chasing a few off those, we had a great day out the weather was just great for caching, plenty of laughs were had a long the way.
This is one of the caches found today. No trouble with this one.
Thanks Robmc for the cache.

I have been ever so slowly working on qualifying for "The Non-Traditional Calendar Challenge" (GC7RCQ3) and as some one who is not much of a puzzle cacher, I have been trying to rely on finding multi caches to full fill the my gaps.
I was in the west today, visiting the partner's family and once we finished visiting with them I convinced her to stop and do a quick multi with me. As I was looking at the geocaching map for short easy multis, I saw this one. So we hopped in the car and made the drive over.
With the perfect weather we have had the last few days, I assumed that the park was going to be quite busy. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see the park completely empty. We were then able to quickly obtain all the required information and work out the final coordinates.
We then made the short walk over to GZ and after a quick search the cache was in hand.
Thanks for all the fun today and TFTC.
Cache Maintenance Status:
The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Grub62 and I were able to get the information for the cache despite the playground being in use. Then it was an easy walk to GZ. After a short search the cache was in hand and signed. TFTC.
Bunadoorian and I were over this way for lunch and I saw this cache on the map. We did the quick calculations whilst a father and two children played and walked around the playground.
A short walk and the cache was found, signed and returned. TFTC and for bringing us here - Robmc

Found by Mary and David at at 15:10. Did our counting and able to escape the playground before the mini muggles left school. A nice quick find at GZ. Our thanks to Robmc.

A lovely evening for a ride up Stony Creek.
Navigation is trickier than it might be, due to the Westgate Freeway works, but it wasn't hard to ride around the blockage.
Now, this is probably the best time to hang around in a playground if you haven't got kids, but it does add to the uncertainty when you're counting thing by torchlight.
Which makes it such a relief when the container is exactly where you calculated.
Thanks, Robmc

Another nice Melbourne afternoon so what do you do after work, go and find a few caches on a trail put out by Robmc of course.
I keep staring at these green dots on my map and always think I will get to them one day so this afternoon is the day.
Relocated the Geowagon again to be close to another 3 caches.
Now I’m not a fan of hanging around playgrounds but luckily for me the place was empty so I was able to stumble around and collect all of the information required and soon had a set of coords.
Of to GZ I went and I soon located the cache and now onto the next one.
Thanks Robmc TFTC.

After a failed attempt at a previous multi I decided this hidden park might be the one. I decided to be “local traffic” for today and weaved my way to the posted coordinates, very close to all of the west gate construction works.
There were no muggles at GZ so I had free reign to gather all the info and made the find shortly after. Success at last!
Thanks Robmc for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Quick multi and not affected by the building works close by. I only temporarily disturbed the 8 legged cache protector. Just achieved my 28 multi caches for Feb, for the nearby challenge.
Got here and found three muglles here. One large one with two mini ones. As I started checking out what I could from the car, they all left! From then on it was plain sailing.
It’s always a good day spent with echidna44, and add caching and it becomes excellent. This expedition ranged from Spotswood to Altona. A lovely little playground which luckily was deserted when we were there. Some counting, some calculating and then to the cache TFTC Robmc
Out with au.fait, we had a lovely day walking and talking while caching in the Spotswood and Altona areas. This was an easy multi in a secluded playground, which led us to a well concealed cache. Thanks Robmc.
A nice cache in a very quiet end of the stoney creek. Easy questions and good location. TFTC!
Thanks to Robmc for this multi, we enjoyed checking out the space and doing the calculations.
It was great that we were the only folks around here today as it was quiet apart from the freeway works.
The GZ was established and the cache was found and the log signed.

TFTC! Being early evening was a great time to do this cache as no muggles were around. we quickly did the maths and a quick find at the gz!
Well this was the quietest part of the park.
Well almost.
Only one muggle family here.
So i quietly went round collecting clues.
Before long I had likely co-ords.
Signed and moved on.

A walk through a park I frequented when I was a kid. We would ride our bikes down here and this stretch of parkland became a meeting place for man kids, as it was today. There were plenty of kids on bikes and families walking the tracks. But this park was completely empty this morning - not a soul to be seen. We quickly worked out our answers and found the cache quickly. Thanks for the cool little multi-cache Robmc.

Compared with the last time we were in the western suburbs, the weather was much better today! Sunshine, some perfect caching weather.
The spinney thing wasn't as fast as others I have been on. It's fun running when dizzy though.

Great day out with ilukaperi. 29 finds from 29 caches. No DNFs.
A nice easy multi. I had thought the final may end up on the other side of the creek and with the bridge closed, that would be mean. Thankfully, not the case.

Set off on a chilly but sunny Sunday morning with __Cat__ to find a few caches. This was the first of the day and __Cat__ managed her scribing duties admirably. Cache found fairly quickly at GZ. TFTC!
Got here in the afternoon and encountered no children. All calculations worked smoothly and cache found where the CO had placed it.
A quick count and then backwards to the cache which was fortunate as the path onwards is blocked by yet more roadworks, why can’t they build these things big enough and smart enough the first time.!
Thanks Robmc for Stony Creek - The Playground

A perfect day for tackling these caches. I agree this was a nice location and we wish that BM would take on some beautification around the area too. Lovely trail that was a pleasure to ride along.
Thanks Robmc

A nice morning to be out and many were fishing. Spiffy- and I took the electric scooters today and collected the clues... interesting to now know what the tribute was! Spiffy soon had the maths done and a quick find at GZ.
it was Robmc day as we made our way around finding these caches. Some extra navigation to get the the spot with works in progress, but found easily enough.
Thanks Robmc for the hide(s)

Found at 12:54 pm.
I had a message from Fleabag- that he was spending a bit of time near the WestGate bridge today before heading off to Western Victoria and so we grabbed the scooters which made traversing the trails and back streets really easy without having to ever find parking. One of the best caching tools I have purchased so far.
Perfect, the playground was deserted so the clues were gathered easily. A quick ride later and the cache was signed.
Thanks Robmc for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

"Stony Creek - By Bike" the best way to explore the western suburbs. There was enough space between us and the "BIG" trucks. It was great to see so much natural vegetation and of course collect some smiley tokens, for a variety of hides, such as this, where we had a play break before moving on.
Thanks Robmc for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Out on my own on my way back from staying with my sister for a while. This was my old stomping ground as I spent my youth walking to Footscray High near by. Boy has the area changed. I tried the wrong entry first go but soon found the nifty playground. Had it all to myself today and soon picked up the clues. Nice easy find. Thanks for the cache Robmc.
Following the Stoney Creek trail to collect our second find for the new year. Mulberry tree will have to wait for another day as the sorry cut is closed to construction work.
Made my way back out to Yarraville again tonight, to keep working on my 366 grid of found dates. Took me a while to get my numbers correct, kept on failing at basic arithmetic. Finally arrived at a logical GZ to make the find. A resident was washing his car nearby, so had to sit on the swings for a while to wait for him to turn his back. Cache was found easily at that point, I was back at the car with a smile on my face. Thanks for the series Robmc, really enjoying them!
(Sorry to the cache owner for a very late log. At the time of finding I had a lot going on, including escaping Melbourne lockdown, getting a new job, preparing to move states, quitting a job I loved, and preparing to leave my dog, all which meant getting very slack with logging).

What an excellent little multi.
Boy but what a run around trying to find a way here, with construction blocking the bridge to the playground, I had to find an alternative way back to the trail...
Gathering clues was fun, but one of them had me scratching my head.
The CO is a very sneaky guy. I love trickiness ... and I’m sure he knows which one I’m talking about.
Found the container safe and sound. Now I’m about to find out if I can make my way back to the Trail. TFTC Robmc

This is a simple multi, I collated the information and worked out the location of GZ, where the cache was waiting for me.
#17492. Back in Melbourne after many months and thanks to Robmc there are a couple of new series to find while I am here. This is the first one tackled. We took the bikes and rode. A hot and very windy day and it has knocked us out a bit. Back home I have had a couple of sprinklings of snow in the past month or so. We covered 11kms so that wasn't too bad for a little bit of exercise.
Not a big fan of playgrounds but all was quiet here this morning (well noon really). Just a couple of workmen pre-occupied with their roadworks so I wandered around the gathering the required numbers and off we went to GZ for a quick find. I also saw the strange red insects/creatures/sitting on the container - don't think I have ever seen these before.
Thanks Robmc

*Guess who's back, back again,
Melbourne caching's back, tell a friend.*
The song is called "Without Me", and we can't kick off caching without me.
*Pacman's back, with a FTF trend.*
With the 'ring of steel' lifted overnight and the km leash finally removed it is now almost back to normal, and today was the first day since the 7th July 2020 of some normality.
Still, I woke up this morning much later than usual, to find many new caches published by the CO in the area.
Flat battery on my phone... a couple of hours since publication... ain't going to let that stop me heading out.
After a fruitful shopping expedition to the Newport caching supermarket I made my way north to Yarraville to get to know Stony Creek a little better. It was to be a slow exploration, charging the phone for a few minutes and then heading out for the search. And repeat... 7 times along the creek.

#6 of 7.
The playground was empty today.
But, still mentally scarred by a geocaching incident at a playground in my first month of caching 8 years ago, there was no way I was going anywhere near these initial waypoints.
So this multi called for alternative methods, and I was lucky in the end.
(Some strange tiny red insects around the container - never seen those before.)
Thanks Robmc.
