I found this cache today on a walk up Merri Creek after the Coburg CITO this morning. When I arrived at GZ, I spent a fair while looking around to no avail, so I called out a PAF and they said "under the boardwalk". "Boardwalk?" I said, "what boardwalk?". I walked around a bit to see if I was just getting bad reception but there were no boardwalks to be had, I then checked back on previous logs and the available pictures, which gave me a picture of the cache and more importantly, a picture of the boardwalk, which I was able to line up against a tree, so I knew exactly where it used to be. With that information, I looked downhill into the very thick and lush blackberries and I could see what looked like bits of the boardwalk and the bottom part of the cache - but I couldn't get to it. I scoured the area for the largest log that I could find and threw it into the blackberries to give me a path to the cache. Inside that part of the cache, was part of the log sheet, so, I at least had enough to claim the find, however, it certainly needs a redo. There may be other parts of the cache also in the blackberries but I could not find them without some more heavy duty protection and clothing. I put the parts that I had into the multi trucked tree above the path. Thanks from D B-A
Thanks, didn't have a pen to log, but found it eventually. May have been a bit more hidden with the recent bush growth.
awesome find! no bush bashing required. added a new log sheet; old one is looking worse for wear. kudos!
What an adventure. After the CITO at Coburg Lake, I joined ConnieandRick and Cathlud to find a couple of local caches. We arrived and parked up, and then the adventure really began. Not finding an easy way down, we split and headed down in three different directions. Eventually, we all arrived at the well constructed and camoflaged cache. It was then we noticed the easy way out, isn't it always the way you bush bash in only to find an easier way. Thanks thelastjar for placing this cache. A FP from me.
After the CITO at Coburg Lake I was invited to find a few caches with Connie (from ConnieandRick) and micaparamedic. Finding a parking spot was no problem but then we had a little trouble finding a convenient path to the cache. A bit of rock scramble and bush bashing got us to a boardwalk and path, and then we located the themed cache. Of course, on our way back to the car we used the obvious formed path.
Thank you thelastjar for this fun adventure and cache.

Out with Cathlud and micaparamedic after the CITO today. I thought I'd seen a path down that didn't exist and none showed on the map, so we bush bashed in three different ways down the very steep slope to find this wonderful cache. And of course we found the easy way up afterwards! Gets a FP from me too.
After the Breakfast event and nearby CITO I had just enough time for one last thing before heading back home.
Let me shake your hand on an excellently themed container.

The gps threw me around a lot, and it took a while (and some scratches) before I realised I didn't have to go into the prickly bushes to find it. Lovely spot, tftc!
After attending the CITO in the park I headed down to collect this cache. Unfortunately my pen decided not to work and I didn’t have a spare. I hope the CO is happy to accept a photo of the log as proof of the find. A very interesting cache construction. Thank you thelastjar for placing and maintaining Thing for us to find today.

This wasn’t quite the quick stop I had planned on my way home but it was still great fun.
With it having been found recently I knew it had to be here and sure enough it was there larger than I expected. The cache was in good condition.
Thanks thelastjar for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Travelled over to the Coburg area this morning for a couple of events and to grab the odd cache in the surrounding area as opportunities arise.
Nice cache, found quickly once I worked out how to get down from the upper level.

I found the thing. I'm not sure if the muggle or woofles was more surprised to see another person along this section of the trail.

Out on a wet and rainy Easter Monday and beat a muddy trail to this cache. Access wasn’t easy as we approached from nearby car park / redevelopment area. At GZ it was a quick find but a nicer day would be better
Thank you very much thelastjar for the cache!
Thank you very much thelastjar for the cache!
After a hell of a time on my first find when it fell down the hill, I have successfully come back and managed to get a better hold of it! Thanks TheLastJar for your help. Dropped off trackable
Took me a while to find it, I think it may have moved from its original position but I decided to put it exactly back where I found it, I love love LOVE the cache tho!!
Not what was expected here but sure a was fun thing to discover after a little walk. A bit wet underfoot. Thankfully there was some wood around to help me pass.
Thanks for the cache thelastjar

This one took longer than it should have really. A favourite from me since it is in my top 2 mint tins of all time. Tftc
After sleeping and sliding in the mud it was a pretty quick find. A refreshing idea.
Took me a bit to find it but one light bulbs idea moment led me right to it. Very fun cache to find.
What a beautiful area! I love the little bridge to nowhere. Slide on shoes were a poor choice. Fun cache! Left a sticker.
Having a lovely day out and about in the northern suburbs collecting many interesting caches in the delightful company of echidna44 and xambo4u. Enjoyed the short walk and a very clever cache. A favourite point here TFTC thelastjar
Out and about with echidna44 and au.fait for a day of caching. Long time coming due to lockdowns. This one really bought a smile to our dial. Making the short walk we wonder how people find these places. Did for walk across the bridge??? and made the easy find. SO good. its gets my favorite. But who does it belong to??. Thanks for the cache thelastjar
Out with xambo4u & au.fait, we had a very successful day caching in the Coburg area. This was a big surprise, but then it all made sense.
Great cache. Thanks thelastjar.
Great cache. Thanks thelastjar.
Awesome creativity at work for the cache and bush handiwork amid the creekside greenery & mosquitoes! TFTC
I did not know what to expect with this one and GZ was a bit of a trek. I should not have worried as the name says it all. Happy childhood memories.
A nice quick and easy find on a pleasant afternoon stroll around the area.
Used the bush tracks to navigate to the cache.
Very well done!
But, the guts of the cache is dislodged and may require some attention. Eg. More adhesive!

The better half was after a new phone, so I accompanied her to the local orifice of works, then walked home. Via a side of the creek that I might not have traveled since long before the nearby bridge existed. On the way, a close view of the last remaining drive-in, a small park evoking the ghost of an old dairy, the backs of a bunch of the industrial history of the northern suburbs, and, before leaving the creek, groves of prickly pear.
But first, this cache. Totally worth the walk. Love your work, thelastjar, as each time I've come across one of your hides, it leaves me grinning for days.
This one was particularly clever, and the way of getting to the log made me laugh. Well done, indeed.

This cache took us on a magical bush journey. We felt like we had discovered some hidden pocket of the city we had never seen before. Upon reaching the gz, we dangled our legs over the 'bridge' and settled down to solve this puzzle. Needless to say, there was a squeal, then a laugh when we saw what was within. Stowed the puzzle back correctly
I've liked the CO's other caches nearby (The Onion GC93C3H and Whomping Peppercorns GC8Y7E5) and so this one appealed as today's caching target. It didn't let me down. Yes it's a mint tin, but it's a mint tin with a fresh, creepy twist. It took a little while to find only because initially we were being pointed off into the blackberry, but I think it was just the signal bouncing around - the hide is fairly friendly and close to the clear path. For what it's worth I had GZ as anywhere between the posted coords and S.554 E.157. As to the field puzzle, I suspect I did it all wrong but I got to sign anyway. Thanks thelastjar for another creative hide.
I came, I looked and I DNF. Grub62 and I thought that we had a thorough investigation of the area with no luck. Maybe the long break in lock down has affected our grossness. TFTC.
After the trek in, Bunadoorian and I looked in different places but we couldn't find this cache.
Mozzie repellent would be recommended coming back here.

Too hard today, after a couple of falls I wasn't too keen to go on, a great area on this side of the creek though. Thanks at least in getting me here.

A joint FTF with Jarwillo, who came upon us stumbling around looking for GZ. As per usual for us we took the longest most difficult path possible and sadly dragged him around with us, none of us dressed for the occasion! A very clever cache and a new cacher friend met made this a great first FTF for us! Hoodedhooligans (H.H.) 18 December 2020 6:25 pm #388
{FTF} Joint first to find with the Hooded Hooligans. I wasn't really dressed for this one having come from work but when I pulled up I spotted a travel bug on a near by car. Knowing there were other cachers already here I took off down the path hoping to meet them. I somehow missed the obvious path and found the overgrown one on my way to gz. The hooligans were still looking so I joined them in clambering around and disturbing insects until we all decided we were looking in the wrong place. A change of focus and we soon found the cleverly constructed cache. Always good to meet other cachers and we had an enjoyable walk back discussing our caching experiences.
