Haven't been back there, so we'll archive it to allow other cachers to use the area if they wish.

We've been told that this one has been removed. Disabled until we can investigate a better location.

The GPSr was struggling a bit under the trees and while I found one spot that was very heavily searched (there were stout poking sticks lying about and much disturbance) I had no luck. The day was getting late and there were muggles about. Oh well.

Found by geeceecee 04-02-07 15:35.

Had lunch in park, then went searching, walked wrong way around track, so did Shelley Harris Track first, then found cache on return, been here a number of times before, GC adds another reason for returning. Took Samari, left Aus $20 note keytag.

This one proved a straight forward find. For some reason I hadn't done this one before as I had the idea there where entry fees or the gates where locked or something. Neather of these proved true. The GPSr more or less pointed straight to it and in that place it was obvious. The little black ants had a little nip but that was it. Cache was visable from a meter or 2 away but is now covered.

Thanks Maccamob

We had a great day picking (and eating) raspberries at a local farm, then ended the day with this great walk and a picnic. The handheld GPS was not pointing close to the actual site, but a keen eye easily spotted the ideal caching lair and we picked this up without any problem.

A great spot. We'll come back and do the longer walk next time.

Took the 'conkers' and left small McDonalds electric game.

Found by very excited Geomum and Geokid using new GPS that I got for Xmas!! Took awhile walking up and down the trail as we didnt read the hint but was eventually found. Lovely walking trail enjoying the cool crisp air of the forest. TNLN. Thank you Maccamob for this cache.

21-Nov-06
There was no one within coo-ee. Not a muggle to be seen!
A nice stroll thru the ferns made a good contrast to TeamKittens Peaks that I had just done (well, the first 4).
An easy find after I looked a bit further in.
Thanks, Robmc.

a lovely find on a lovely spring day. We based this cache around our desire to find out the differnce between Mountain Ash and Mountain Grey Gums. Great spot in a fantastic part of the best park near melbourne. TNLN

First of twenty finds for the day I found the cache at 07:10. I was on my way to meet up with Dak and Muzza for a days caching up the Hume highway so I did this one on the way. I had looked at the cache on the map and thought that it would be just stuck in the bush as I saw no tracks leading in, what a pleasant surprise I had when I discovered the great picnic area and walking tracks at this spot. The bell birds were really turning on a song this morning. Thanks Maccamob for showing me this location and thanks for the cache.

Found late today on way home between farms. Great little spot that again without geocaching I would have never known it existed.

Found @ 11:20am Third find of day, by a new geo cacher, sister and brother in law, great spot but by the time we had found our fourth and returned to the car we were extremely tired. Just great fun thank you.

Found by Roma and Max.
Another beautifull out of the way park with excellent facilities.
However it was quite damp in here today and not very conducive to satellite reception.
Roma said this will be the spot but Max had to proceed to the intersectiion to be convinced.
By the time he got back she had the container in hand.
We took a small Green Car and left the usual Mondo Figurine.
Thanks maccamob,
from Romax.

Eighth of nine finds on my "Clean up the Far North", part one. Having bagged all four preliminary peak-beggers caches, I took the opportunity to grab this one before heading to the final peak-baggers cache. As the cache description says, it's a wonderful area of cool ferns and giant trees. How do maccamob find these places? At first, I overshot the real GZ by about 10m, and spent a bit of time looking around an obvious object there, with no success. GPS reception was pretty ordinary in there, so I decrypted the hint. Once I corrected the 'off-by-ten' error, I had the cache in hand at 1705. Thanks to maccamob for the cache.

IN: Mondo figure (Japan 1560)
OUT: One-battery torch

Found the hidden gem of a picnic area today at 1.00pm ,bit damp but no one around .Took the correct track and pottered around for awhile with thick tree coverage and cloudy day at gz but finally saw a likely spot.Took bear travel bug for a trip.Very pleasant area, enjoyed the challenge, and first time to Kinglake area was a good one .Thanks to maccamob for the picnic area and forest walk invitation .

Found at 4.40pm GAFF3. Not sure what was going on with our navigation on this cache. We were enjoying the coolness of the shady walk and passed a spot where I commented to cprass that it would be a good spot for a cache - however we were 39 metres away from GZ, so without a second thought we kept going. Arrived at GZ, got to zero distance with 7 metres EPE and started searching. We noticed quite a bit of disturbance in the area indicating (we thought) that we were in the zone. After a few minutes of fruitless searching, we retraced our steps up the track and cprass went to the spot we had previously noticed and pulled the cache out to my amazement (and annoyance). Thanks maccamob Took: Planting set, Left: Hairbrush.

Decided to visit this cache after coming to the area horse riding with friends. Left the horse in the horsefloat in the car park, and went for a walk to find the cache. Had trouble with the co-ordinates, and finally had to use the hint, which we found useful as we had gone too far. Back tracking, we looked for an obvious spot, and not too long later had the cache in hand. The co-ordinates turned out to be correct, but the thick bush made it hard to get a proper reading. Only had to flick off 2 leaches.
Took: princess doll
Left: green pull car
Also left: Monty P. the Lumberjack Bear T.B. - who likes to be in foresty areas. Goodbye little friend.
Thanks for a great cache.

Found by edmil & maddie. Last find for the day as it was just on dusk. Had a bit of a problem keeping in contact with the space birds and only just managed to hook up at the crucial moment. 27 mtrs from the GZ. Took a punt on the cache location which turned out to be correct. Great location for a cache, one which I will return to for an attempt at the Kinglake baggers 5. Thanks for the cache. TNLN

Droped in to have a second go at this one on the way home from work. Now that the GPS is set up right it only took me a few minutes to find. Nice walk even if it was raining. I live only a km from here but have never visited before. I'll have to bring the family down to enjoy the wildlife.

T QANTAS comfort pack (strap will be handy)
L 3 knights in armour
SL

Now I'm on track! Thanks.

What a gorgeous walking track this proved to be. Our GPS was jumping all over the place and even though we had read not to pass the junction we did anyway. Then realized we were not getting any closer so retraced our steps and kept our eyes open. We were rewarded by seeing a likely spot which is where the cache proved to be. Thanks maccamob. Took post it notes and left playing cards.

This is a very nice spot. Never been here before, pitty so late in the day. We will have to come back. Thyla found this one with not to much difficulty. Few leeches in the area though!!!!

Visited by Love Piggy, did not like the thought of being around leeches.

Took: Gumby Travel Bug
Left: B-52 Plane puzzle, toy car, rubber dolphin
and 2 wine charms.

Thanks,
Thyla and Thylo

Decided to do this one on the way back home. Was late for dinner anyway, so a few minutes more wouldn't make much difference and it was well worth it - a part of Kinglake not visited before. I'll have to come back when I have more time...

popped tawia
pushed gumby and some Qantas goodies

Interesting - - - this cache was found by muggles on 24 February. They signed the log as two alcoholics, and took some superglue to fix their bong. They left a smoke and an empty beer bottle as swaps and replaced the cache in its correct spot & in good condition..

We have removed the smoke and binned the empty bottle.

We left TB Taiwa to rest in this serene spot for a while and continued on our walk.

Thanks maccamob for introducing us to yet another interesting site.

This was our second find of the day and only our second day of Geocaching. Today Ewan and Tom were joined by Helen and Daniel who have definately caught the 'bug'. Speaking of bugs, we found and took the travel bug which was very exciting (it's obvious we're new to this sport isn't it). Ewan will be heading to Sydney this week so lets hope we can find a nice location close to the harbour.

Thanks for the great Geocache Maccamob.

Thanks maccamob for the escort and the cache!!!

Found at 8:00pm. Our second stop on a Friday night tour of the Kinglake area. As reception was poor, we used the clue and made a quick find. Just as well as the GPSr was showing an untrusworthy extra 25m away. Found Jehosapat but no jumping to be reported.

Thanks Maccamob from D,S & H B-A. Took Nothing Left Nothing.

Even after a hint or three from the maccmob helpline we couldn't get this one... Will have to return again on another day and perhaps the GPSr gods will smile upon us next time...

Wonderful area though!!!

Found this one with Vombatus while on our way to a show in Mansfield. The GPS was not getting very good signals today and a combination of events had us in the wrong spot. After a phone call, Maccamob and a clue we were off but with no luck the GPS kept insisting we were 26mts out. Another phone call, another clue, another search, nothing. We were about to give up when Vombatus found it. Thanks David, bad reception and over confidence were the main problems.
Took Small Angel
Left Mondo Man

After debate about the pronunciation of 'jehosaphat' all the way there, the finding of the cache itself wasn't too tricky. GPS accuracy wasn't fantastic, but we used the caching force. Left a golden crown bookmark, took nothing.

Normally when doing a lot of caches in one day I write a brief discription of the events leading to finding the cache. But this cache I have no idea of where we found it. I'm assuming Alan-san beat me to it because I would have written that down as I love rubbing it in Wink. I do know I found it at 1:05pm and I swapped a poncho for earplugs.
Thanks for the cache Maccamob.

22-Nov-03
Found at 1:05pm, with Kiwideb and Muzza along for the walk. My GPSr initally lead me off in the wrong direction, but when Kiwideb got on the scene things started to improve and we both headed in the right direction, wanting to be ahead of the other. I guess I was just lucky to have spotted this one first as Kiwideb was confused saying she had GZ but couldn't work it out, the cache was about 1 meter below her.
Swapped story tapes 'Heartbreak Hotel' for 'Domes of Fire'. Thanks Maccamob for providing another Alan-san vs Kiwideb adventure.

22-Aug-03
Found by Quasar. The hiding spot was the first place I looked. It was well camoflaged though, so I didn't see it, searched the surrounding bush for 10 minutes then came back and found it easily. Took a demister cloth and left a matchbox car. Then completed the Shelly Harris circuit walk which is a fairly easy and tranquil walk.

Second stop for the day; we spent 20 minutes trying to workout why the hint didnt match with where we were searching!!! Once we twigged what we had done and changed approach The Evil Le Chuck found the cache pretty quickly. Left a talking book and took a candle holder. Also dropped off TB-Geoffry for a spin through the forest.

Found at 12:40pm
An easy find in a pleasant area, there were quite a few people around enjoying a Sunday picnic.

11-Jan-03
Found this one, but only with the help of my mobile phone. The gods of the satellites were not with me on this one and I walked right by the cache and then doubled back on another track before the GPS indicated I was nearby. I looked in the obvious spots, decrypted the clues, all to no avail.

I tried the Maccamob help line, but it was closed. I then tried Biggles Bear who came to the rescue. (Thanks Peter). Once I got back onto the right track, I had the cache within a couple of minutes.

There were people nearby so I made a log entry but no swap. I hid in the bushes as they passed but heard more coming so I re-hid the cache and got out of there.

My thanks to Maccamob for the cache and to Biggles Bear for the help.

Oops almost forgot to log this find.
Found easily on a very wet day.
Took Norm the Gnome and will drop him of somewhere after giving him a bit of a tour of Melbourne.

03-Oct-02
Found at 11.35AM A lovely park with some really big trees, many of which show signs of having dropped limbs in the past (We were glad it wasn't windy today). We left 'Norm The Gnome', a traveller we picked up from Hickey's Hideaway near Yamba. Norm is in his own container which should also be taken if Norm is moved. There are instructions included about emailing his owner so that he can keep track of his movements. Greg and Bev
