Bingo!A lovely evening cycling along the cycleway and picking up a few caches along the way. TFTC Find#198
Kids keep wanting to push on for one more - and who am I to stop them! The chat was good and the birthday biscuit was fueling us along a gain. Master 9 was all over the pile of rocks like a needle in the haystack but luckily I spotted it. TFTC
Made plans to go out caching with TheWonderStuff around both our busy weekends. We decided to target the caches along the Northwestern cycleway on our bikes/scooter. The weather turned out to be very nice and warm, so it ended up being quite busy along the cycleway. No trouble attracting the cache here.
Got the bike out today to avenge some DNFs along here, and grab the new ones that have popped up! We parked in Waterview, and planned to go till Lincoln road, or till the rain started. We only made it to rosebank road before the rain came in! TFTC!
Dropped mr 16 at the nearby pump track and headed for a wonder in the maybe rain! No fear of muggles today! TFTC
It's been a while since I took the bike out. It gets regular use by B for his commute but by M (me) not do much. So took a little Sunday ride today and grabbed this cache. I'm intentionally not getting others today so that I have to come out here again. Tftc never seen one of these before!
I decided to do get on my e-bike and do routine maintenance on most of my motor way caches, I wish I chose a day that wasn't so unbearably hot! Got a fair bit sunburned and was quite glad to get home, put on the air con, consume a cold wine and a few sandwiches. I replaced most of the caches with new paper (only where necessary).
#13,961. Todays mission was to walk from Waterview to Te Atatu bridge and back, 10km in the hot summer sun. Yep madness is in the genes. Not as mad however as the men's rugby league team walking the same stretch carrying large wooden poles, full 20 litre water containers, rock filled ammo cans, large tractor tyres and heavy metal cages. They looked hot and buggered each time I passed them. It was very dry and thirsty out here today. I ran into Gorby up the other end on his electric bike. Very helpful to get some hints and help finding several I had missed on the way heading NW.This one was quickly spotted as I headed north into the heatwave. Not all Gorby caches are easy to spot on this trail. Signed the logsheet and left the cache tucked in behind the natural cover. Thanks Gorby for hiding the cache here. Really enjoyed the variety of caches on offer today and good to catch-up with you on the return walk.
#11079:8:48am. Four minutes between caches - not bad. I went straight to this one. Nice and simple. TFTC.It's barely 9am, but I'm already getting sweaty. I do enjoy summer (and no that isn't sarcasm).
I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Tuesdays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and Saint John's. Wednesday we ended up caching in the Waitakeries and finished up in Glen Eden, New Lynn and Waterview. Thursday we geocached around Blockhouse Bay, Green Bay and Titirangi. Yesterday we decided to finish off a few out here before Yvettetb had to leave. I then cached around the Panmure Basin and the new subdivision Stonefields. Today I was alone and walked the cycle trail between Waterview and Te Atatu. It was a bit of a damp morning at times. This cache was certainly attracted to me. I don't know what that says about my personality. I did get a few glances from passing cyclists who seemed currious as to why I chose today for a walk. Great to get lots of smiles along here today. Thanks for the fun and different hides along this trail
Looks like this one will be our last for today the little cacher is wearing crocks and managed to get a blister TFTC
Day 2: The Northwestern TrailOur second day in Auckland was shaping up to be another wet and sordid one, but I was hardly going to let the early summer weather rain on my parade. So, after dropping my sister off at United, I was dropped off at Te Atat South to begin my adventure for today. Despite being a power trail, there was such a great variety of caches, that it really didnt feel like one at all. Despite passing showers, I thoroughly enjoyed the effort put into the construction and camouflaged. Thanks for everything - this is why one of the reasons why I keep returning to NZ for geocaching!(End of cut and paste bit)Specific log for this cache:Easy enough of a cache to find despite the number of possibilities. It kinda sticks out, you know no innuendo intended. But, another quick find in the rain is most appreciated, and on to the next. TFTC!
Looked on the wrong side of the track for this one until I realised what the cache name meant... TFTC
Found it after treking down to this suspicious looking log then I thought about the name and boom TFTC
I started today with a walk along the section of the cycleway. I started at the Waterview Reserve and went as far as Rosebank Road. Then retraced my steps. Everything went to plan, the round trip took me just on two hours to walk the 6.90 km for 17 finds. A good variety of hides. All in all a top notch caching experience.
Cheers and TFTC

GPS brought me to the wrong side of the path but after reading the title I was drawn to the right place. The force was with me on this one

Decided to Ebike the NW Motorway this morning to re-smilie up the pathway and this was No 18 of 21 today. Another cache exactly as hinted at so another quick find. TFTC
All good here today, G-2's paper he added is going strong, no need for me to replace it.
I am out and about for an extended walk today. I started at Waterview Reserve and followed the cycle way out west, as far as my feet would carry me (Lincoln as it turns out). Of course I stopped for any caches along the way. This was an easy find with a very clear title and hint. Cheers for the cache placement!
The 2Izs set off to do a night e-scooter ride and try and hit as many as we could on the north western cycle path.
This lil guy had fallen from his location, but we returned him.

Today I was on a mission to sign off the "one thousand points of light challenge " cache, which we now qualified for.
So, I thought why not start my journey from where we were parked at the NZMCA park in Henderson, and go via a long walk/cycleway full of caches, to meet mr rattll at the carpark opposite MOTAT.
If it had been a weekday, I would have taken the bike, but as its a Saturday, I figured there would be masses of muggles on this walkway, so opted to walk as it would be less obvious stopping all of the time. I wasn't wrong about the muggles. The place was swarming with them.
Another attractive beast. I did as instructed and was rewarded with a cache find.
Thanks for setting this up Gorby

I was very attracted to this cache, as it was the last on the cycleway for me!!
Yay!!
Thanks for all the fun caches along here and all the maintenance you do!

Checked up on this one, all good here, G-2's paper he added a while go, still going strong.
Thankfully did not take us too long
A few cyclists about today, but we are just taking our time. Thanks for the hide gorby

Had no idea where to look for this one. Will have to come back and grab it another day
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are in Auckland Auckland for a break and we are exploring the region while we are based here. Rain was forecast in the afternoon, but didn't eventuate. Yay!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

M24: with liljap finding caches on this path. A nice and easy cache to find. TFTC.
Found as sharkbait went straight to it. Having fun walking along the cycle path, finding caches as we go. TFTC
School holidays bike ride with the odd cache on the way. Deliberately not aiming to find all the caches along the way as it's a ride we want to do more often and a few more geocaches to find always helps the motivation! Nice easy find for our youngest geokid. Tftc!
Thanks for this easy and straight forward find. And off I go to the next.

Mr Pazza found an immediate attraction here. I was expecting another dnf, so we were pleasantly surprised! Tftc
337. Out trying to complete this trail. After reading the hint the cache was quickly found. TFTC
Took a few moments, but I knew almost exactly what I was looking for so it was only a process of elimination. Thanks!

A bit of a search as the GPS was a little out but was just a process of elimination.
Thanks for the ones so far!

What a lovely morning for a bike ride. Had to be careful in the bike track as there were so many other bikers whizzing by. Lots of varied caches and the GOS was spot on. TFTC
Walking along the cycle path with Team Welsh while we continue a journey to the west.
Cache sense soon attracted us to the right spot to make the find here. Thanks.

Mr KC and I must of had a certain attraction to this cache as it was easily found. Cycleway was busy today with lots of lycra clad bods and lots of families out enjoying a ride. TFTC
I get a sense this cache is still here waiting for an attraction from someone.
Needed a change from my 1-cache-a-day, so came out here and ended up with 11 cache finds along the NW cycleway
#6: A very attractive container, this one. The quickest find of the day so far since I had seen this type before. Had to be stealthy when replacing it though, as a few times the coast seemed clear but then cyclists would suddenly go whooshing past. TFTC!

Seeing that it was a nice day I decided to get the bike out and go for a spin down the Northwestern cycleway trying to locate a few caches.
It must have been true love as I got down on one knee.
Cheers for the cache.

This one gave me a lot of grief. I searched one side without luck. Then i switched to the other side & still nothing. Gave up & continued my walk while asking CO as to its likely location. A text came back not long after, just as I returned to GZ. I was reading the text & I just happened to glance down at the ground & saw the cache lying out in the open. Council had done some maintenance & obviously disturbed its true location. So signed the log & returned it according to the hint. Lucky find of the day. TFTC
Another bike ride and more effort to find some caches today. Took a moment, but we got there in the end. SL. TFTC.
Out for a ride with the geo-kids - surprisingly they were no opposed to caching today which makes a change - we had a great time!!
Very attractive little black number with a white twist in it.
Thanks for the cache.

It was a nice morning to get out and find a few caches today. Weather was perfect for a walk along the cycle way to find a few caches that have popped up since the last time I was out this way. My GPS seemed to have me on the other side of the path but a previous log and some random guessing took me to the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
An exhilarating walk down the cycleway on this wet and stormy day.
The wind was so strong that an impromptu Mary Poppins impersonation almost occurred but we managed to keep our feet on the ground.
Once at GZ it was a nice, quick (and attractive) find.
Shall we head back now? of course not! , on to the next...

Nice and easy find here, and oh yes that was a very strong attraction keeping it true and placed.
I haven't taken much exercise over the last couple of weeks and have been yearning for a good leg-stretch, especially as Autumn is here with cooler mornings, and rapid loss of evening light. And so with an early start at work(before 0600) and working through lunch etc, I treated myself to a slightly early finish and headed along the Northern motorway to do some caching out Waterview and surrounding area. I ended up walking 10km plus in the afternoon sun and not too many people around so time to search and look for caches. I ended up with half a dozen gorbys, 7 rustys and a funky munky cache for 14 finds total. Thanks to the COs.

Well gosh more lockdown, seems I should go caching, at the very least, to get some exercise...
Nice quick find here today, TFTC

Looks like the path is starting to get busy again. Managed to make a quick find here in between the muggles. We certainly were attracted to it.
Parked near the Waterview Reserve then hiked along the cycle way to get four new-ish caches. TFTC.
A quick find but I had to wait for a cycling muggle to pass before I could return the cache to it's spot
Out finding some recently placed geocaches. This one took a bit longer as the GPS put me on the wrong side of the path. Thanks for hiding Gorby.
Second cache on my bike today. Bang on.
I wonder where the hormones are racing ?
Thanks for another reasone to cycle here!

Out for a girls day caching with Supernannny and Nette1234 we walked along the cycle way to collect the newish caches. We almost missed this one as we were too busy chatting. Luckily one of us had their eyes on their phone and noticed that we were fast approaching gz. Another quick find here. TFTC
This was a quick find although we nearly walked past it....
Had to watch for cyclists whizzing past even on a weekday.

I expect the final find for me along this stretch for a while. [FTF] TFTC!!!
