Left home early for a day's caching in the Gawler to Bolivar area to see if I could achieve a Personal Best month. Most caches were in good condition, but there were some on the Gawler to Port Adelaide trail that needed maintenance that I didn't have with me. TFTC
With such a beautiful, sunny, winters day, I decided to take off on my bike and complete the PATOG power trail. I have been working my way along it and hopefully today I will complete it.So after disembarking the train I jumped on my bike and headed west!TFTC equipe de cinqKeep smiling
A morning walk along the Port Adelaide to Gawler bikeway. Currently the walled section is covered in spiders so there were a couple I couldn't get to and will have to come back for, but it certainly got me on the way to 13,000 steps today
We parked at the end of Undo Road and unloaded the scooters and skates. Our goal was to travel as far as necessary to find 13 caches so we could finish the rolling part of the trip at 2999. Then drive to Gawler to find skuzzybears Dustins Cache as our 3000th.Our PATOG journey was successful. All 13 caches we visited we found and logged. We rolled for 7.56km between Waterloo Corner Road and Bolivar Road the skaters were quicker than the scooter-ers! It took about two hours (1.5 hours on the way out collecting caches and 30 mins back to where we started).Apologies for the copy and paste.TFTC equipe de cinq.
Out riding the bikeway finding some more of the PATOG series. Today I had James0116 and locus cache for company. TFTC equipe de cinq
Last night, ttrogg rang me and asked if I wanted to go for a drive[?][:X] I sure was NOT going to say 'No!'So this morning he kindly picked up Rex and I[:X][^] and off we headed into the Eastern part of the state[^]Our destination was Parilla[^], where 3 new caches awaited the first opening of the container and the first signing of the log book![^] They'd been waiting a week[?][?][?] I guess Hurtle must have been busy during that week[?], or slipping on his FTF hunting game[?], to have left 3 new caches unfound for a weekEither way, ttrogg and I were glad to get to Parilla and then the fun startedApparently we each had to find one cache ourselves and then it was a race for the third cacheStrangely enough, that was how it worked out, too![^]After Parilla, ttrogg took me to complete a Crane2 multi that was my then closest unfound as I always like a Crane2 cache and history lesson[:X][:X][^][^]Then he headed off for some of his favourite types of cache series[^][^] and a favourite CO cache as well[^][^] and I had no issues with that idea, either[^][^]I do think that some of the race car driving scenario at Bathurst must have seeped into ttrogg on the way home as I rarely have visions of dying when being a passenger[xx(][xx(] Not even when being pillion on a Kawasaki behind Robbie Phillis at Mallalla Thankfully ttrogg's judgement ensured that I lived to write these logs and cache another day![^][^]There was a certain cache, just over the Vic border, that caught ttrogg's eye[:X] however he didn't trust my judgement in getting us there so despite trying one way to get to it, time was called and it was left unfound by us as the border didn't get reached Our unintended circular route for the day[?] saw us coming home through the Barossa Valley where, during a gorgeous super moon full moon wander[:X][:X][:X], another cache was found[^] That cache made our 4th FTF for the trip and my 15th find overall for the day[^]TNLN. Southern Autumn adventure Day 48. Mid North section of SA trip Day 19. Gawler Day 7. Today was a mixed day starting with some more Anna Tommy caches that were difficult to solve, but fun to find. Next was a set of Unicorn caches. The area was still quiet, even though it was now a weekday, and I found the ones I targeted without any problems. I then i wanted to get back on the NEXY bike trail with my scooter, so I selected a set of them to do from Bolivar. It did not go as smoothly as I had hoped, but I made it back to the car without having to walk. After fueling up I headed back to Gawler.

My first find for this year. Consistent quarantines and isolations means this last 2 years has been geocaching intermittent at best. Gorgeous day out. Cache safe and dry with plenty of space on log. Small guardian evicted from top. Smile today!TYFTC SLTNLN
Staying at the nearby Caravan Park so took a nice stroll this morning to get a few caches. TFTC
Today we met up with Mattycat for another walk along the expressway, today we continued on from where we finished last time PATOG 33 through to PATOG 64, most were straight forward find, three were missing, a couple were found on the ground and one across the path and replaced to where the hint indicated. A cool overcast day made for a comfortable wander all up approx 12 kms covered before heading off for other local challenges

Another fine day out caching with Froghoppin. Walked, hopped and drove our way around some caches. Lots the same on the patog and some nice variations elsewhere!
Most hides were easy to locate today and in good condition.
Many thanks to equipe de cinq for hiding this cache on our SA geo map game board

Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about especially away from the city crowds,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

Found by brisal5, TeamAstro, thewhitedoggang and Featherwaite, signing the logsheets with the acronym BAWF. Being cool, cloudy, no rain and with light winds, it proved a great day for a ride along the bikeway. Thanks for the cache and series equipe de cinq!
GENERIC LOGS FOR PATOG series! [8)][8)][8)]
Time to attack the PATOG series. [^] So the calls were made to find a group to take on the ride and a group of brisal5, Astro, WhiteDogGang and Featherwaite were available. So the acronym BAWF was formed to sign the logs. We chose Tuesday 8/6/2021 to make the ride but the forecast of a thunderstorm, continuous rain and howling winds caused the newly formed BAWF to balk and we delayed until Friday 11/6/21! [B)][B)] What a great day for a ride, overcast, a nice cool breeze and not a drop of rain to be felt. All caches were found in good condition except, one that needed a new cap (done) and one that needed replacing. (also done) Great day had but I felt like BAWFing by the end! [:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)]
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks equipe de cinq for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Enjoyed our walk along the NorCon so much last week , we thought we'd continue again today (although we shuffled cars so we didn't have to walk back this time) [8].
Our GPS died before reaching this one, so had to use the backup device for 3 caches before reaching the car and fresh batteries.
TNLNSL.
Thanks again Equipe de cinq.

Claiming a cache find as part of the awesome beta testing cache placing crew for this super fun cycling series. All of the PATOG caches in the series have been found many times so our work must have been good. Kudos to anyone who does the full end to end ride in one session and collects them all. If you run it or walk it then you get extra bonus kudos.
Eventually some time in the future when the rail access is restored to Gawler it will be possible to catch the train to Port Adelaide, ride with the wind to Gawler, and catch the electric train home. From Patog one to Patog eleventy first. That would be awesome.

Set out today aiming to find the 54 required to finish off the newish PATOG series. Decided to tackle the high terrain one first so parked as close as I could legally and set off with the required TOTT. Was able to spot from the ground so it was a reasonably quick job of getting my stamp in the log. Left as found.
Back to the car and after chatting to some nearby muggles decided to leave if there and set off on the ebike. Returned a few hours later with 47K on the odometer, the series completed and even a BFE bonus cache.
Now that I've had the recreation it's time to head home for the rest.
Thanks to equipe de cinq and all involved in getting this series out and placing this cache here for me to find

Today after work I took advantage of the last of day light savings to collect another 9 on this trail. A new style of hide was encountered which were a little trickier than what I have become accustomed to but all 3 tackled were found. Needed my trusty stick for several of the others.
TFTC and the series eventually I will have walked more than the way to Gawler.

Out for a long bike ride with Uni and Medusa along the Northen Expressway and beyond. We parked a vehicle at each end and took the mountain bikes along the trails - 48.9kms and 115 caches in around 5 hours.
The bike trail allows one to see a lot more at 20kmh than whizzing past in a car at 110kmh. There is interesting WWII history in amongst the market gardens and salt flats. I really enjoyed the massive redgums and lushness around the Gawler River. On a hot day one would want to take plenty of water, there isn't a lot of shade or facilities along some of the stretches.
This cache was found at 10:07:00 AM and was 42 of 102 finds today.
Apologies for the generic log but it is a powertrail. Thanks equipe de cinq

One of the nice things about working in the northern suburbs at the moment is the chance to pick off a few of the PATOG series at lunchtime or after work. Sometimes it's as low as two, today it was five. I prefer it that way than slogging through the whole lot in one hit. All caches were found in a good order today, which is better than the bikeway signs along the back of the Highway 1 caravan park, most of which have now been graffitied. Luckily the vandals have tagging, not nicking caches, on their mind. TFTC.
A group of us(JJ52, mogni, Sir Spectre, Azzo7777 and Dad, Tallbikestan and I) decided to do this series. We started at number 1 at 8:30am and finished the series at 1:30pm with a few other caches along the way. TFTC equipe de cinq
A big day out was planned with allister w, sir_spectre, mogni, azzo7777 and tallbikestan to tackle the PATOG series and give my new ebike a good workout. [^]
We started early from #1 leaving cars there and then were picked up at the end. It was a fun, but very tiring day and we managed to find all the caches quickly except for a couple that required extra effort.

Out with Tallbikestan, allister w, JJ52, azzo and mogni. Todays target was to do all of the PATOG Series using bikes or power assisted bikes. Getting dropped off at one end and getting picked up at the other end. The only problem we had was the one cache that needed a ladder, Tallbikestan's bike was just too short by about 1/2 foot. Easy found with the ladder deployed. i never got to complete the last bike trail, i only ended up finding about 11 of them. We even had a lunch break about 3/4 down the trail. A fun but tiring day out. All logs stamped as mystery randoms.
A big day out with sir_spectre, Allister W, JJ52, tallbikestan and azzo (and his Dad). Today we tackled the PATOG series and all caches were found, only a couple took more than a few seconds.

Staying at Gawler Gateway, we noticed this recently published series. Mr F wanted to tackle this series so a plan was made to attempt before the coming week of hot weather. Mrs F dropped Mr F and his trusty steed off at the cycleway, for him to head south before turning around at 001 and returning to complete 88 for today. . A big days cycling, some wetlands, and a few shady areas to return sunburnt. Alas not wearing climbing boots so at least 1 DNA (did not attempt for the day)

There had been discussions between Freddo, Davidwazza and myself to place this series for quite some time but never got around to it till the other day. Finally we set off from Gawler and made our way to Port Adelaide riding the full 49km and enjoying the path as we went. Placing bee caches and removing the old series. A great day out despite the rain to start us off. I hope people enjoy the new series and a lengthy bike riding series.

It was only a few weeks ago I was telling Malco! there would be a series out here on the new bike path. Saw these come out yesterday but knew the weather would be better today. Organised a car shuffle with Malco! and the morning began. All find made with SupaTurtle, SupaOrange and Malco!. Three FTF and a bunch of STF and TTF. Podium finishes all morning. Thanks
Joint podium with Csaba!, SupaOrange & SupaTurtle.
Hopped on the treadlies for an early morning ride. Beautiful smooth track. Only did a short section of the bike track, leaving plenty for next time.

STF. Today was dedicated to the newly published PATOG 111. I managed to complete the whole series by push bike in one day, yes that’s from the first to eleventyfirst. All hoovered up in a day like a whale gulping plankton. Collected 15 FTF which was nice. A highlight of the day was meeting other cachers on the journey, nothing like bringing cacheroachers out of the woodwork with a teaser of FTF. I met Malco, Csaba, two turtles, a lovely couple (larayugal) and a Hurtle. Thanks equipe de cinq for the cache and series. Fantastic work.
Today, I had organised with Freddo and gridge98 to ride the Northern Expressway bikeway to complete the *Nexy Challenge* series geocaches. We rode the full distance, and then in the afternoon, jesswrigley and I visited the south-eastern end of Cleland Conservation Park and took a few walks around the area. The day began cold spitting a little, but towards the afternoon, it turned out to become quite warm and not too hot; almost the perfect day to be outside and hiking.
Freddo, gridge98 and I had set off early to complete and collect the *Nexy Challenge* series, and concurrently, we stealthily placed the new version 3 series: the **PATOG** Port Adelaide to Gawler series. A discussion was had 6-9 months previously about arranging a day, and with my time running out of Adelaide, it turned out that Australia Day became our collective free day. Magnets were purchased, and cache containers were prepared. However, we ran into a problem early, as our plan to use magnets was thwarted when the sign poles were aluminum, not steel. Who would have thought that the frog's kryptonite would be metallurgy today? Nevertheless, alternative hiding places were found, and the series was rolled out. It was a significant session riding the 49 km, but at least they are now available for the community to find. Thanks equipe de cinq for the ongoing maintenance of this series, and hoping that this version can last longer than the previous two.
Note that this geocache was beta tested on 26/01/2021.
