It's International Geocaching Day so AlpiSteve and I ventured to Kakanui for a walk along the beach. Stopped here along the way and made a quick find TFTC
A quick find. The logbook was full so I added a small semi-waterproof sheet. tftc
A short walk after dinner along the river and found these cache.
Thanks for hidding.
Thanks for hidding.
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee drive to Invercargill and back. Today we made it as far as Owaka, very windy in places and it got hotter the further south we went.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

A lovely looking church. Hopefully it will get a new coat of paint sometime in the near future. No problems with the cache.
Quick and easy find located on a little walk with nice views of the ocean and Kakanui River. Thank you for this cache!:)
A quick find and I decided to walk to it rather than drive but will have to now drive here as I found a book exchange
Short revisit to this lovely coastal village. Only had time to find one so will come back for others.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a coolish winters day caching in and around Oamaru during our Queens Birthday trip south.
A wee bit of miscommunication between navigator and driver here, but did manage to get a park outside the church. A little wander later and the log book was signed. TFTC.

#21320. For some reason I thought the cache was a bit nearer the church. Turned out the church was on the across the road from the cache. We took advantage of the church parking, crossed the road, and made a quick find. TFTC.
One of several caches I located today, mostly in the Kakanui/Oamaru area before continuing in the direction of Christchurch. Not sure that I’ve ever visited Kakanui before. Good to spend a little while here and pick up a few caches. This one was a quick find. #4975. TFTC.
What a lovely we church and now privately owned. Found cache all good and signed log. Thanks for the cache drawp.
This took a lot longer than expected as muggle partner Kev headed over to the said church to see what all the activity is about. A couple are restoring it - what a Labour of. Love. There is lots to do but they have mostly finished the Sunday school room at the back which Appartently was in the worst condition.
Quick find of the cache.
Quick find of the cache.
Quick find on this popular track cache in perfect condition ready for the next finder TFTC
The church has seen better days that's for sure. Easy find and one we could have actually driven right to! TFTC
Having overnighted in Oamaru and noted that I had heaps of unfound caches between Oamaru and Kakanui I decided to spend the afternoon clearing as many of them as I could. I note that the church is now probablyh someones' do-upper. This was find #18.
Set out this morning on a mini tour of North Otago since I had been unable to go on a caching trip.
The sea was very calm as I traveled along and on arrival on the river was like glass and I thought boating here on a day like this would be really enjoyable.
I took a trip down memory lane as I had attended this church with my parents when we were staying out here with relatives.
Thanks
erninz
