Geoturtle37 and I are slowly dotting our way home finding caches along the way. Unfortunately, we do have limited time so that curbs how many we can stop for. We do like to take roads that don't have bitumen when possible so this was must and so pleased we did. We have decided to head to Beachport and have a look around. Thanks for this and the other caches along this road.

Not a lot of caches, but a lot of fun. Sunshine, snakes and smilies Big Grin

Don't get bogged... we didn't. (But we did get cached!)

Appreciation for the cache placement NiceNannies , and ongoing maintenance Smile

--------------------------------------

Do please take care out there,
it's a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and objects falling from trees Surprised
...... but a cache a day still keeps the boredom away Wink

--------

Most of our caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids.
No apples or other fruit needed Big Grin An apple a day doesn't keep the doctor away, we've tried that Razz

----------
Make sure that Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Wink (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - clean and cache the countryside Big Grin

It's awesome of all those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas,
in sensible safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting Cool

Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Wink Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Big Grin [:o)] Wink

The end. For now...

... until next time! Wink

Mrs JTreeTrack2 and I set off for 5 days after the school term finished in Victoria. We have set our sights on camping in Robe, then tour the area, then back down the coast through Port MacDonnell and then back through Nelson camping at Narrawong. The trusty Camry set up with the tent and beds on the roof. Let us travel see some beautiful sights and get a few caches.
After passing all the lakes on the way in to Robe, it is was good to come in from a different direction and see the Lakes. Now as we headed off down Bog Lane and up the dusty track, thank goodness we won’t get bogged. We didn't get bogged, we found the blacktop again. Signed the cache then decided it was time to get the next one.

Thanks for the cache Nice Nannies.

Found quickly on a day that hevwalker and I hoped would be kind weather wise. It's been a bit blowy and wet the last few days. I hadn't found this one so hevwalker pulled in for me to get a quick smiley. The cache was found, signed and replaced quickly and we were on the road again to find the next cache. Luckily the road isn't too boggy today, although someone had driven through when the ground was soft leaving tracks behind them.

03-Jun-22
Having spent the last 4 days caching in a group, today I was back to solo caching from Millicent to Kingston SE, picking an assortment of caches. This was my first for the day, and it turned out to be a quick find.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC NiceNannies

We are slowly making our way down from Adelaide to Portland concentrating on Adventure Labs but also picking up anything else that is close by. We spent the night in Meningie and are now heading towards Millicent.

We had just finished in Robe and still had a bit of time before we get to our meeting in Mt Gambier. We looked at the names and figured that it hadn't rained that much so we would give them a go. Once we turned onto the track we had a bit of a smile as we realised our mistake and headed off with confidence.
The first cache for us turned into a DNF but our luck changed from there on in. We located all caches but one was out of our grasp to add our name to the log. A better than 50% success rate so no complaints here as it's no sense getting bogged down just because you can't add your name to all of the logs.

Many thanks NiceNannies for the caches.

It was time to get on the move again with ilook4geo and head to the next destination. We picked out some of the caches to pick up along the way where we could take the caravan safely. This was a nice easy find and after both names were noted on the log all was put back as it had been found. Thanks for this cache placement go to NiceNannies.

The great Geoventure 2020 tour....take 2...which is of course now in 2021 Surprised Once again it myself and AnyMules doing things that not many sane people would attempt. [:o)]

Day 11: The weather today was fantastic, so we headed north all the way to Kingston SE in search of unfound boxes. Cool Some rather fantastic locations and caches found today Big Grin
* If anything was particularly interesting then there will be a comment

Here.. We mistakenly saw this series and thought it might be a test of the 4WD. Big Grin Wrong. Easy find. Smile

otherwise we found all the caches we looked for and they were in good condition.

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

***Thanks NiceNannies for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

It was raining and we prayed the rain would not get any heavier, and it didn't.

Found on a visit to the south-east to attend the Mega event at Millicent. I teamed up with a few others over the LWE to complete some of the trails and other caches in the area. Thanks to Don who came along for the ride on all but one of the days! Lots of laughs and fun and good food and the rest!!

Thanks to NiceNannies and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

Mogni didn't want to drive her car down her but was happy to do this series in my 4x4. On driving down this road she realized that the series was named after the road name, not the state of the road. the road condition was alot better than many of the roads/tracks/lanes driven down over the mega event weekend. Some of this sries where quick finds, others where a pain in the back side to find.

On route to the 2021 Mega at Millicent with Mogni. A run of bad weather before the mega meant a last minute change of vechicles for us. Instead of Mogni's car we took the 4x4 down to the mega. This also meant a change in the target caches on route. Now we detoured off roads to get those caches that where on sandy tracks, high clearance or in locations mogni would prefer her car not to go, less finds and highway drive bys was the result. We got down to where we staying the night with out getting rained on to badly.

After a will-it-be-on, will-I-go back and forth, Owl was finally on her way to the GeoVenture in Millicent. With JJ52 in the car it was a slow drive down, partly due to unfound caches on the way but mostly due to some very heavy and hairy traffic. That disappeared after Robe but the unfounds increased so it was somewhat slower going. Fortunately the duo did just what the cache name suggested and just found it.

SA Mega weekend with sir_spectre, a huge weekend of catchups and hunting geocaches. At different times over the 5 day weekend we joined up with other teams caching as either the misfits or mystery randoms depending on the numbers of people and who organised.
Unfortunately the weather was very typical of the south east and put many teams off exporing the forests and some great creative caches were only found by a few teams.
For me this was a little bit different than for others as I lived in the south east for 15 years and worked in Penola, Millicent and Mount Gambier. Strangely this also meant I kept running into people I knew each day.
Lots of wildlife seen, wombats, echidnas, snakes, kangaroos and wallabies. Luckily the snakes in particular kept leaving the paths as we were walking.
Thanks to the Mega committee for all of their hardwork organising and the many locals who have placed and maintained caches (this includes me Smile)
Thanks to NiceNannies from mogni Smile

Heading to the Mega in Millicent with Doctor Owl and this was one we stopped at on our way past. [^]

We stopped at this one but didn't have time for a drive down Bog Lane and certainly didn't want to get bogged on the first day of our trip. Surprised

Thanks for the cache NiceNannies. Smile

Day One of my first mega experience. Today I make the drive from Gumeracha to Millicent picking up a few valuable caches along the way. The weather is grey and drizzly but not too cold, and at least I’m not out in the storm that blitzed through yesterday.

I recently did get bogged at Grace Plains, and it wasn’t much fun. Caches along this road also help my 360° from home challenge, but I’m just doing this one for now. Took a while to find, and while I was looking, a number of vehicles turned up Bog Rd, so I’m sure it’s quite safe for 2WDs even after rain like today.

Down in Robe for the weekend to catch up with the husband. Dragged him out for a day of caching around the area. Also picked up some of the new crayfish series which was fun.
All up we found around 40 caches and we had a great day out our rainy picnic at Beachport was a highlight washed down with a cuppa from the flask.

Found this one just as the rain started so had to retreat to the car with the log, just got in car and a down-pore started followed by lighting that must have hit the high ground about 200 metres away. Just had to wait it out before returning the log, bit of a damp silver for us.
