Walking past so stopped in to grab this cache. Funky find. In another life i would love to earn one of these! [TFTC]
Walked straight to this one. Certainly a different type of cache to find. Thanks for this cache in a great area. Thank you GeoRick for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 5276
Over this way today to collect a few caches. The water is quiet today but quite a few people around doing lawn mowing, attending work training and public just enjoying the area. Walked up here and saw this unique cache straight away TFTC
Had been working in Tauranga for the day. Had been a success and was able to leave earlier than anticipated. Might as well cache on the way home. Also a chance to get some caches that might not otherwise attempt.Beautiful place. . Quick easy find.TFTC
Up in Cambridge to support my brother as he was competing in the National Powerlifting 24. This was just 300m or so from the venue so was a quick walk to gz.Came with a newbie/muggle cacher to find this one. Bit chilly out, but it didnt stop us. Quickly saw something from afar but dismissed the idea as I thought, Thats not a cache. Dad soon grabbed it, he was right, and it did indeed match the name perfectly. Interesting style cache!I wrote in the log and placed the cache carefully back as found. TFTC. Thanks GeoRick for placing this Traditional cache! GeoRick , ! 17 September 2024 at 6:04PM#956th Find
Staying nearby in the camp enjoying the area. lovely views and a great themed cache..love the creativity. Thanks for a good find.
JDScout and I are spending 15 days traveling up to the Coromandel from our home in Christchurch. We are taking our camper van and E bikes. Our journey up and back will include a few stops. The aim is to spend 10 days on the peninsula. Today is day 4 JD made the find.
Out & about while staying in the area for the weekend. Our boys won a few silver and a few gold medals at Maadi during their high school years. No problem with the find TFTC.
We also passed by here on our trip through New Zealand. Thanks for placing and maintaining it. Many greetings from Germany.
A quick find once we were in the right spot, very busy day with an event going on
Scouts from Jamboree troop Best West pirates green patrol. water activitie day.
Wow what an interesting cache. I am her with the e scouts and thought I would check this one out.
A bit busy here today with a scouts event on, had to give up on the other cache but luckily this side was a lot quieter so grabbed it on the way out TFTC
Lots of people about today - looked like part of the scout jamboree at nearby Mystery Creek. Had I known that in advance, might have left this area for another day. There was no getting near the other nearby cache but this one was fortunately accessible. Quickly found and signed, always fun to find a cache that's a bit different like this one. TFTC
Took us a bit to find this, GPS was a bit off. "The Silver Cachist" found it first!! Unusual cache, enjoyed it, thanks!
A quick morning wander to grab a cache or two before attending an afternoon wedding ceremony. Nice quick discovery here.

Nice quick find and an innovative cache! FP from me. All quiet at GZ, so a very peaceful morning by the lake. Tftc and MX!
Found! Delightful spot, lovely cache. My partner had some pokemon to find so we went for an evening stroll together
Day 9 of my Spring Holiday. Spending a couple of days in Cambridge. Very wet today but had to drop some scrap iron off so a couple of stops along the way and then a drive around Lake Karapiro. Nice quick find here TFTC
Stopped here enroute back to Puckeko after a great 4 day break in Rotorua. What a beautiful Lake. Found with Uist blues though I claimed the gold medal finding it first.
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.
My 2nd for the day while attending the Branded event.
An awesome hide and has earned a favorite from me.
Cheers, Cympull.

Wow, what a great hide! FP. Wandered over from the Cafe with muggle sister and delighted with the experience.
Apologies for the very late logging, things, like travel and getting back to work just got in the way, time flew by, and well, I'm finally here and doing it.
One afternoon in Hamilton we went for a loop drive, over some bridges, along some dams, up some hills and around and about, checking out the sights, and looking at the views - and of course, collecting some caches along the way.
Anyhow, this was the fourth cache we found on the drive, and No Hobbits were spotted here either, but I did love the cache, and learned something, so you get a fav from me.
Thanks for the cache GeoRick

Took a slight detour on the way past the domain to grab these caches. Quickly found this cache, a great tribute to the effort that went into winning this medal. Thanks for the hide.
Decided to take a traffic break on the way home from Gisborne and find this very special cache. Beautiful cache in a quiet peaceful location today, although I suspect it is usually a very busy hub.
I overthought this one, once I searched according to the hint I had the prize in my hand.
Nice idea.Tftc.

We struggled to find this. According to coordinates we were right on top. We were trying hard to think outside the square according to hints and clues. We'll try again another day.
We planned to spend the day in the Cambridge area and set off early this morning to maximise the time we had.
After a nice breakfast at the lovely cafe in the Velodrome we picked up a few caches around Cambridge before heading over to Lake Karapiro.
Crossing the lake on the one way bridge turned out to be quite an adventure. When we arrived at the traffic light it looked very congested and after taking a closer look we realised people had been trying to cross in both directions at the same time and had come nose to nose in the middle, both unable to move. It seemed they had reached a stalemate with neither happy to be the ones to reverse and the man waiting in the car in front of us got out and came back to have a chat. He was a local and told us that there are often similar incidents and many people don't read the signs and try taking long or wide vehicles over only to find themselves stuck.
In comparison this was a relatively mild incident and we could see an agreement had been reached as one of the cars began to reverse to let the other through. A task that involved a reasonable amount of skill and was made more stressful by some of the people waiting to cross on the other side getting impatient and blowing their horns.
Once the way was clear it was a nice drive over the dam, but we made a mental note to go the other way next time.
We parked near the camping area and walked around to see the sights. It was such a beautiful day and a bit cooler than it has been lately so perfect conditions for our trip.
We were very keen to find this cache having seen it on the recent Cache Walk video but it looked as if we may not be successful as at first we came up empty handed and we saw someone else had just had the same problem.
But we remained determined and expanded our search a little which led to a successful find in the grass, although not quite where it seems it was supposed to be. Looks like it may have inadvertently blown or fallen away from its hiding spot.
We have placed it back in a spot consistent with the hint and made sure it is concealed with a bit of natural camo to help keep it in place and hide it from muggles.
Afterwards we enjoyed walking along the nearby Te Awa cycle/walking trail around the lake which is well worth doing. A couple of local cyclists told us there were plans to extend it further so we hope that is still going ahead. It's a perfect place for a few caches so we may place one or two there sometime ourselves.
Thanks GeoRick for an unique and clever cache and for bringing us to this great location. Also congratulations to Brooke Donoghue, Hannah Osborne and James Coote.
A definite favourite point from us for so many reasons.

Sorry about the late log pick this one up with ABCDF4 on our way back home from Taupo
Find number 7683. First day of Waikato Level 3 Step 1 so a chance to get out and grab a proper cache. But the car battery was flat. The car has not been used for awhile. Observing level 3 lockdown. Thankfully I have a small battery charger and after about 30 minutes I had enough power to start the car. On the way to GZ the mist got thicker but once the car was parked there was very little. The cache was quickly found and signed. No problem with the car restarting for the journey home. Thank you for the placement.
I had itchy feet and a desire to Cache but I was also having car issues... Fortunately it was Fap'n'Gap to the rescue whisking me off to Hamilton on a mission to tidy up the few caches we have left to get there.
This cache was sorted very quickly thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement - very obvious but a neat place to bring us and quite a cool log as well. Cheers GeoRick & TFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… On our way to an event in Hamilton. It feels like ages since we’ve been allowed to travel over the Mamakus.
We hadn’t noticed a couple of caches around Karapiro, so it was just a little bit exciting to have something to do along the way. The iPhone gps pointed over the fence and into the trees - Now that didn’t seem likely. By the time we’d completed a circle, the medal ceremony was well and truly over. This cache was not at all what we were expecting. Thanks GeoRick and TFTC.

Took a lot longer than it should have done but found in the end. Thanks for the placement.
A break in my drive to Tauranga. It sure has changed since the 70's when I rowed here. tftc

Yippee!! A Silver Medal for us too, almost kept the cache as we thought it was for us......
A very neat cache idea, we were heading towards the Waikato when this one was listed but too far away to have a realistic chance at the gold, so happy to take silver on our way past heading back home. Our own hometown Olympians did really well too, Hayden Wilde taking NZ first medal (Bronze) in the Triathlon, Stacey Fluhler as part of the Gold Medal Womans Sevens squad and of course Lisa Carrington with her medal haul making her NZ most successful Olympian.
Good chance for the dogs to get a bit of a run around before back to the van for the trip towards home.

Just slipped into Bronze - third to find. Didn't realise a new cache had been loaded and camping here since Friday at a paper crafting retreat. Shows it pays to refresh now and again.
Lovely quiet place to stay and a great venue. Will be back in Summer for the cycling and walks!
Great accomplishment to celebrate. TFTC.
