On a senior's Metro trip to Chatswood. While Mrs Brew shops, I caught the train to a few local stations to grab a few caches. This was my first for the day. After gathering the info, it was off to GZ for a quick find of an interesting yet pretty camo. TFTC
On a side rail journey up here after work. Somewhere far from my home, never mind the drizzling weather. This was a cute cache, worthy a favourite point. Another Sidetracked multi ticked off. TFTC fdsawq
Struggled a little with this had PAF with one of the WPs. At GZ a nicely found cache . TFTC
TFTC!! super cute container! same problem same solution- couldnt find the plaque but the checksum makes it solvable so it wasnt an issue
Made great use of the new lifts at Roseville station. Managed to find all the answers to locate the cache. TFTC
Im back visiting from Brisbane for a few days while my husband is working here. I had a coffee with my cousin in Lindfield, then came the one stop to Roseville. I used to live in Roseville in 1986, so it was nice to visit again. I found all the information except C - I had a good look but the plaque seems to be missing. Like the previous finder, I was able to work out the number using the checksum. All other numbers were easily found. After working out the coordinates, I walked to gz. At first I wasnt quite far enough but a few metres along, I soon found the cute cache. Signed log and replaced as found. Tftc
A slightly challenging multi for us. Found two values for A - obviously had to be the single-digit value. Couldn't find the plaque for C. However, the checksum was very useful to calculate this. A short walk to GZ and with very good coords and hint, we managed to find the nice container. Thank you fdsawq
My first find in Ku-ring-gai, as I've found five caches in five different LGAs today. After a DNF minutes earlier, I got to work on a multi so I wouldn't have to make another trip up this way tomorrow. TFTC
Heading to Hornsby Heights for a Jasmer filler. Decided I had enough time to grab this sidetracked which is also good for my stats. This was about my #273rd Sidetracked. Thanks!
That was a fun hunt! Love the camo! I was unsure of the blue box. Looks like it has been moved. Checksum worked out in the end!
Found, with shaneo58, We came down from Newcastle to do some easy caches on the northern line. near Lindfield and Roseville. After last week we found all the different items to look at but the last one was done by using the checksum as there is no access to this, nice little cache at GZ.
Signed log and Cache replaced as found.
**Thanks For The Cache** fdsawq.
This makes the 12th cache of 12 for today making a grand total of 4188 at 1:08PM on this Thursday the 7th of September in the Year 2023
Signed log and Cache replaced as found.

We tried doing this multi the other week but were pressed for time as we needed to get the train back to Newcastle. Today BillHill531 and myself came back to give it another crack. We found all but one,so we had to extrapolate with the check sum to get the coords for the cache. Nice little cache. A TOTT would have been easier to sign the log, but got it in the end. TFTC fdsawq. I enjoyed it. A fav for me.
Got the the station and got the first 2 numbers easily then struggled to find the plaque. I felt a bit dodgy walking up and the platform eventually I spotted it then the rest was easy. Got to GZ and it was a quick find. I will be being one out like this cache soon.

Arrived at the posted coordinates and started my search.
A got me confused as to which blue box I was looking for. I took both numbers just in case the checksum did not add up. The first box was correct.
I moved to waypoint 3, and collected the final answer.
Sitting on the nearby seats, I did the calculation. Answer a confuse me again, but I soon worked out what I needed to do.
A short walk to GZ, and I had the cash in hand, as where I should’ve brought my backpack that had my tool of trade, but I manage to get the log out of the cash container.
I signed the log and placed the Cache back is found.
This was a very cool sidetrack.

A fun multi, and after all the required info was collected without any trouble, it was a short walk to GZ where the very cool cache was found. Great camouflage! TFTC, have an FP.
Needing a multi find for the day this was on the way so headed over. A bit if looking around WP1 and found the various bits of info. It was then off to WP2 before calculating the final. A nice bit of camo. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Had to make a quick journey up to Gordon this evening and made this multi find on the journey home. Quick to collect numbers and a quick find. I only had a couple of mins before the next train so literally scribbled in the first wrap and replaced neatly a ran back to meet the train. A lovely station and I now know about Tuck brick pointing. Thanks for placing this cache fdsawq #1890
Took a weekend drive with goingplaces2 to pick up some target caches without the weekday work traffic. The numbers were easy enough to pick up for this multi, so the cache was found easily, log was signed and replaced. TFTC.
We decided to do some caching with ilook4geo in some areas that is better done on the weekend when parking is more readily available. This one was no problem and very few muggles were around, so a quick find was made. Actually, with track work being done on the weekend we had plenty of space mostly to ourselves to find the numbers and look for the container. Plenty of room to sign on the log and all was put back as found when finished. Thank you to fdsawq for placing this cache.
The blue cupboard has been moved from it's original position. There is also a second one on the other side of the station which could lead to some confusion. For anyone trying to solve for A, the correct cupboard is the one to the north of the station building.
Loved the cache and camo. TFTC

My first multi! Given how small the cache is i probably would have broken something (clumsy). I took a photo instead! TFTC!
I love it when I have to get a train to a particular station and there is a SideTracked cache there. Very accurate final co-ords and a cute cache. TFTC!
For the life of me, I still didn’t find the spot to count bricks, thus trusted my calc’s for the other locations and just added. Luckily an obvious spot was found with the correct coords and CIH made straight away, thanks for this nice multi
This looked like a good one to do on this International Geocaching day, so we collected numbers, did the calculations and moved to GZ, where good coordinates put us right on the cache. We loved the container, really cute. Thanks for a great multi and our day's souvenir.
Out on a bit of a SideTraced series run via the Hornsby line. This was my first and the nice straightforward multi was soon to hand. TFTC fdsawq
We got involved with this one while waiting for the local cinema to start the day's business.
Interesting stories and waypoints thanks fdsawq
I thought the final cache was very sweet!
Keep up the good works.
Have a fav from me

SideTracked find 86.
I set off by train from Penrith to log four SideTracked caches, changing at Strathfield to the line to Hornsby. After finding the SideTracked cache there, I caught another train to Mount Colah, where I found that one. And then after a bit of a wait (not all trains stop at Mount Colah) I caught another train to Killara; found the SideTracked cache there, and then came onto here.
I had no trouble working this one out, and then took the short walk to GZ, where long fingernails assisted with log retrieval. Nice station Roseville. Have a favourite point. Then I caught a train back to Penrith. TFTC fdsawq.

I have had this one my my to find list for some time so today is the day to get there.
SideTracked cache number 75 for me and counting.
The collection of numbers was relatively easy except for finding the plaque which required a bit of circumnavigation.
Off the GZ and the themed location was soon spotted. The log grew wings of its own and flew off, fortunately to land nearby.
Thanks fdsawq for a productive visit to Roseville and have a favourite.

Very clever container. Good area and the lead up was good except that we couldn’t get into the building at 7 o’clock on Sunday morning. Manythanks for the checksum– it helped tremendously. Gets a favourite from us. TFTC
I dropped off my car to get serviced at the local dealer this morning and waiting for the job to be done, I was enjoying a nice brunch at a nearby cafe. But then I received a phone call from the service advisor telling me a couple of other things needed fixing and that they'd now need my car for the whole day. OMG!!
So how to kill 6 hours when I don't have a car. Caching was the first thing that came to mind but there's none left nearby on the Central Coast! Then a brainwave ... I remembered there were some caches near stations along the North Shore line.
So, I hopped on a train from Gosford and spent the day jumping from station to station ... and getting sidetracked along the way. This was the last time today I got sidetracked though, and after the disappointment of a DNF at my last stop, I was pleased this was was a successful one.
Thanks for another enjoyable SideTracked multi fdsawq.

On a wet afternoon and some spare time I had seen this published but wasn't around at the time. Love a multi and a side tracked one too! Nice and easy without having to draw attention. All data gathered and was soon at GZ with a cache container I had never seen before but have found 2 in the past week. TFTC!
This one is very close to home , so, with the rain pelting down ( again) , and needing to get closer to the peak of Everest, we ventured forth. Numbers gathered we retired to our local coffee shop to do the sums. In a brief moment of dry we dashed out and found the pretty cache. Great fun thank you
Enjoyed this fun multi. The station certainly has had a spruce up since I was here last. Loved the cache is container. Thanks for placing this cache fdsawq.
Used to do my daily commute from here. Back today to visit friends, couldn't help but drop by to make the find.
Cheers

I'd collected many of the numbers by train a while back and came back today to get the last one and make the find. Cute little container but log extraxtion was a bit of a challenge. Signed ᗺT to save the limited space. Thanks fdsawq.
A nice cache to undertake during a break in watching the Winter Olympics. A quiet Saturday afternoon saw us on the platform with a handful of uninterested muggles. Enjoyed the short walk to GZ and the cute container. SL TFTC Cheers…. Gaztek
What a lovely unexpected way to learn about the history of the station - with my all time favourite Geo caching buddies we did some repair work in the cache. Long may it fly! TFTC
Only just discovered this cache at my local station (not that I've Been using it of late!). Found answers and calculated final co-ords without a hitch for easy find. TFTC
Enjoyed walking around Roseville station and the new lifts help a lot. The cache well hidden and good camo. TFTC

Another one in the SideTracked series. Along a busy commuter line, at least before Covid came around. Easy parking next to the shops, an easy stroll on the platform and Hill Street gave all answers. Soon the cure cache was found.

Now I do like a good SideTracked Cache but I had no intention of coming here today.
After some issues at the local bank and post office about not being able to get access to things it was suggested I try another post office.
But where???
Not wanting to stand for ages in a queue I knew Roseville was small and friendly and not very likely to be busy so I went there. That meant being right on site I couldn't resist checking out the cache.
The information was easily found although there's something there I bet local commuters have never noticed.
As I left the station I saw the sign about Roseville being the Garden Station, which brought back memories. When I was at high school one of my friends lived at Roseville so I often came here by train. In those days State Rail ran a competition for the most beautiful station which Roseville was the perennial winner with a sign "Winner of the most beautiful Sydney station, Again!"
The area inside the rail corridor on the road side of both lines were packed with many decorative flower beds of ever changing annuals and sculptured shrubs and hedges. It was always such a pretty place.
Well it leaves a lot to be desired these days but outide the station at least on the Hill Street side has been improved and is beginning to look more like the old days.
That fact made returning the cache quite tricky as many elderly muggles were sauntering along from the train inspecting the gardens making for a long wait and careful timing to replace the nicely themed container!

For today’s Sunday caching adventures we initially had thoughts of attending the Geocaching NSW Christmas Event at Lake Parramatta, but decided to give it a miss due to the lack of Public Transport options available for us to get to GZ, so opted instead for a train ride along the T1 North Shore Line. Stopped off at Mount Colah and Roseville stations for a couple of SideTracked MultiCaches, and then to Artarmon Station for a nearby Traditional cache. Ended our day of “riding the rails” with a stop at Waverton Station, where we walked down to the Waverton Coal Loader to view the Loader Lights light show (mini VIVID) down in tunnel #1 of the Coal Loader (on till Sunday 19th December 2021). Afterwards it was back onto a train to Chatswood Station to catch a 280 bus back to home. This was the 2nd of 3 finds for the day.
Not all of the T1 line trains from Chatswood continue on past Hornsby, and it was to be a 20 minute wait for a Mount Colah (Berowra bound) train, so we caught a Hornsby bound train (4 minute wait) to Roseville Station to start working on this Roseville SideTracked MultiCache while we waited for the Mount Colah train to arrive. Gathered all of the “on station” information for this cache, then hopped onto our train to Mount Colah for the Mount Colah cache.
After completing the Mount Colah SideTracked cache we returned to Roseville Station and headed off to locate the final piece of information for this cache then, after an agreeable checksum and a few computations, we were off to final GZ.
Soon arrived at final GZ and made a nice quick find at a very "on theme" item. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. We then headed back to Roseville Station to catch a train to Artarmon Station for our final cache target of the day.
Thanks fdsawq for another SideTracked series cache to add to our growing collection.

Saw that this cache had a warning about the muggle factor, and so we decided to make this cache our target. Got all the numbers relatively easily, though the plaque played hide and seek for a while. Found the old Police Call Box..... now that was very interesting, and it's great to see that it still has a purpose today, and has not been demolished.
Found the cache easily enough. Thanks fdsawq for a nice multi. We liked the cache container.
TFTC.
p.s We were very disappointed to see that a previous finder had very selfishly, and inconsiderately used his stamp to take up 6 spots on a micro log. We know for certain, that a couple of other finders before him have not used their stamps.

TFTC great to see some more caches in the area. Love the history of the little building.

Headed west on an errand then decided to pick up a few of the caches on the edge of my 20km from home radius, this resulted in a nice big loop to get home.
Picked up a coffee at a nearby cafe before collecting the clues at the station. I've always thought this station and others close by on the line are very sweet. I really like the little building at WP2 too.
A surprisingly pretty cache at GZ.

It was that 'Just One More!' to ease the frustration of a DNF (did not finish) a bit earlier in the afternoon, due to the inability of my phone to CHIRP the right bird language to get some usable coords. This one almost proved frustrating too, as the cache description had changed since first published, and changed again while I was there solving and finding it. With a PAF to a previous finder, and some recalculation with the new checksum, I got there in the end. TFTC fdsawq
I decided that today was perfect for some train riding and was pleased to see this new multi.
I gathered the numbers and ... with a bit of guesswork... eventually arrived at co ordinates that seemed promising. success!!!
Thank you for a fun hide.

E has caused too much grEEf, so I've removed it (i.e. I've moved the old F to be E and reworked the calcs). Apologies, GH.

Lest We Forget
Headed out for this one a little before 12, again targeting a multi - and I get a *SideTracked* cache into the bargain!
Parked not too far away from the station, and found myself approaching Waypoint 2. It used to be a TARDIS? Aaaaaanyway... Grabbed the clue here and then moved on to the next location.
Clue E. I looked and pondered, and found I had absolutely no idea what I was looking for here.
So headed to the platform where the rest of the clues were collected without problem.
So I had definite numbers for all but one clue - and I have a checksum. So reverse engineered E, and looked at my coordinates. Plausible.
So had one last look for E before heading to GZ. Still none the wiser.
At my calculated GZ I had an idea re a possible hide. checked it - CIH! Easy.
Completed signing duties - yep not easy extracting that log - and replaced. Now I need to see a store about a Police Box...

Not often we see a new cache so close to home and so had the luxury of waiting around a bit before heading out
WP1 info found easily enough - can't say I've noted these items before, and knew exactly where WP2 was as had contemplated placing a cache here before.
Interestingly enough couldn't spot E - and I'm fairly certain I've seen it while walking past before (there has been some recent restoration - perhaps it has been removed?) , but with F was able to work backwards.
Initially overshot GZ but luckily the cache was in a logical location... Camo worked on Baby J Man. Extraction of the log proved tricky - it is very tight in there and the usual pen trick didn't work. Luckily had a pocket tool - but tweezers would be well advised.
Thanks fdsawq!

Apologies, the sign with E was removed between me finalising the cache's placement and publish - sigh. I have replaced the clue for its derivation (same outcome).
Aarrrr 2nd to find bugger. I was looking for ages and getting wrong coordinators, my cache brain wasn't working. Looking in all the worng places. I should have found it ages ago, looked way too long. Oh well. I'll settle for 2nd place. Thanks for the cache. Nice multi!
