A nice quick find. This is the first time that I have visited this nice park. I can see it being quite busy on a sunny day. Lucky for us it wasn't sunny! Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I went for a wee drive over to the Coast for a long not weekend, Sunday to Wednesday We had another great day with with mostly dry weather in the moning and sometimes heavy rain in the in the afternoon. There was also a surprise FTF thanks to Gracie7+mum..Yipee.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

A very impressive band rotunda till I discovered some of its history. Wikipedia says that Richard Seddon, ' encouraged the propaganda aspect of South African war memorials and their potential to inspire national pride and imperial loyalty'. A favorite point for the cache as I loved the many interesting things in the park, plus I didn't have the worry of trying to keep children out of the river! Thanks holymu.
It's been many years since we have been to this park. We entered through the controversial gates (I vaguely remember the story behind this) and were a bit worried about the number of muggles about. It turned out to be not a problem as the cache was located away from everyone and SW soon laid his hands on it.
Loved the topiary shrubs near the rotunda - they look like giant toadstools. TFTC.

We tried finding this on Friday night and found a likely hide but it was empty so messaged the CO who confirmed we were in the right place. On our way back from Hokitika we stopped by with a new container and log and replaced. Thanks for bringing us here holymu

A lovely, well maintained park being enjoyed by many children and a shag that was a study in patience. It just stood poised for what seemed ages. Thanks
Odd picnickers in park on a warm evening. However were well away from cache. Tftc
A few of us went for a wander across the park, through a family cricket game to find this cache. Someone who shall remain anonymous but knew where this was hidden gave me a hard time about the circuitous route I took - still got there and that's all that matters! TFTC # 17,883
