Logs
Visiting South East Queensland for a week from Port Macquarie. This morning we ventured out towards Springbrook before returning in the early afternoon to do a spot of caching around Robina and then raced over to Currumbin just in time for the afternoon Lorikeet feeding.Decided to attach our splint again for this one, managed to spot it on approach and retrieve it easily. However, getting it back up was again a little frustrating, the wire loop seemingly kept getting stuck on thin air. After a lot of coercing, it was eventually back on its rightful perch. Thanks for the cache
Teamwork is what counts - we dont have the desired too but we managed to think of other ways to get this so we didnt have to return - with deafsanta bullash silent49
I performed a welfare check on this cache, and it all appears to be good.I reviewed the logbook, and I noted that the last two finders who logged online never physically found this one.
With the support of the noisy minors and a few magpies, we made the find, retrieved the log and got it back up.
I had today of from work so early run for some caching then I headed home for some appointments.
This was the first one on the list. It was quick find. Cache signed and replace.
Davidwazza thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for my enjoyment.

Nice ladybug!! easy find once one looks aloft. I did feel we were under scrutiny as everybody’s balcony faces us in a 360 degree enclosure.
Nevertheless cache retrieved, signed & replaced as found. We were as stealthy as

Whoo hoo, first time we have had to use our TOTT to its full extension, it certainty was pretty bouncy at that length.
Took longer to return than retrieve.
TFTC and greetings from Tassie and thanks for the fun.

With a recent report that this geocache may be missing, we made a stop here to check on it, and Ladybird is still available to be found!
I don’t have a… pole? I’m new to this so I don’t understand what tree fishing is but I can infer. I did look and try to find the giant ladybird but I can’t see it, maybe cause I’m squinting, but the thing in photos is fairly large so it may be gone?
Unfortunately i couldn't fit my TOTT onto the plane with my hand luggage!
Maybe next time.

Out and about looking for a cache with a 24/7 attribute and what a better one to get, a fun tree fishing hide
It was overcast and drizzling when I reached GZ and immediately spied the biggest ladybird that I'd ever come across. The tree was also home to four chirping birds and I kind of didn't want to disturb them but business is business in the caching world.
Now this looks like an easy retrieval I thought, not so! My hook got caught up in the ladybird's numerous legs and the dowel with hook attached came away from the rod and got stuck up there. Back to the car and praying my tool box with attachments & duct tape was in the boot, yes, a sigh of relief!
Back at the tree, nearly lost the second hook but after some patience and perseverance the ladybird come buzzing down along with both attachments.
Thankfully the returning process went off without a hitch.
Thanks Davidwazza, beaut container and I love tree fishing so sending a favourite point your way

Must say we did like the cache holding the log. Very nice. Just watch out and keep your eyes out of the way on it's speedy slide down the slippery slope. This was a satisfying fishing expedition today as both the retrieval and replacement were relatively uncomplicated. In actual fact I think the replacement went quicker than the retrieval which is usually the opposite to my experience. These are not my favourite geocaches but now I have to do some more to be able to get a smiley on a challenge cache. So I was sort of glad to be able to come here today.
Cheers and happy caching!!

Due to length of TOTT it was luckily Endeavour3 had the extra height to reach. Thanks Davidwazza.

Another play day with Peppa, this time finding caches to complete a Challenge from the Northside. It was suggested we go South today and with showers happening all day, it was a bit of a challenge to try and stay dry.
Making our way to GZ was a challenge in itself with dodging puddles and riverlets and trying not to get water drops in our eyes looking up into the trees. Managed to locate this one quickly and with a bit of coaxing, Peppa caught the ladybird.
SL then returned it back to its hide.

Patrol14 still had caches to find for the latest Challenge on the Northside of Brisbane so I suggested a trip to the Fabulous Gold Coast…
It turned into a day of random caches, some found in the rain, some in clear weather… it was just that kind of day…
The amount of water on the ground here surely adds a another star to the D here… because it’s all about the 4.5’s…
It didn’t take long to spot the cache, and then using Patrol14’s cup hook managed to retrieve and return the container…

Like our last tree fishing venture this solid ladybird gave our lightweight pole a test. The way the pole was bending retrieving the ladybird looked like we'd hooked a marlin. With our name in the fresh new log the cache was hoisted back onto its limb. Only problem was, our hook was now perched up there as well. A bit of tapping from the hookless pole and down it came. Geocache back in play.
Apologies for the delay, but new materials were required, construction and other priorities got in the way.

I received permission from the owner to log after I went searching and found the remnants of the cache. So many of these little parks dotted around the Goldie.
Hopefully this fun cache will be back in action soon.

Council are clearing trees in this park, and unfortunately, it looks like Ladybird's tree has been cut. So once again, Ladybird has flown away.
The cache container was located, and a new geocache will be constructed. I will wait until council finalise their works within the park before replacing, so stand by.

Checked on cache and logbook, and I made a few adjustments.
Logbook audited and consistent with those who have logged online.
Cache restored to original position, and back in play.

Found the critter but alas we figured we were about half a metre short. Have to return even more resourced!
FTF Fortunately I arrived with enough of a ladder to do the job but just. Well anyway log signed & replaced. Can't see this cache being muggled anytime soon. TFTC Davidwazza
Returned after borrowing another cacher's TOTT, who was at work and couldn't join in the FTF hunt. Quickly had the cache in hand and DAMN! In between our visits that pesky Curley1623 had crossed the border for a FTF again!!. Had some difficulty with the replacement. Will contact CO. TFTC Davidwazza and a fave point from us
Ladybird attempted to fly away home, but unfortunately, its wings were clipped and she didn't make it all the way back.
Subsequently, Ladybird has been collected by a friendly guardian, and she will wait until her wings are in a good enough state to return her back home.
