Finally!!!!!.. have done this walkway several times and never spotted sometimes searching limited by muggles other times by my blindness. Today was the day for success, cant believed I have missed this before. As per previous log, it is a little damp and some pulled away as I unwound. Thanks for the trail.
Thanks HeMaLuDy for placing this trail of tricky caches for all of us to enjoy. I wish I'd brought a few helpers with me for some of these!TNLNSL, replaced as found, TFTC The cache has slightly rusted so not sticking as well as a new one would.Still a great place for this style so gets a favourite point
In Papakura with rattll to walk the Southern Pathway, picking up caches as we go.Stealth required here, as a very open situation, and walkers/cyclists appearing with monotonous regularity. Spotted something not quite normal, led to the caches discovery. Log really tricky to extract, but managed eventually. Damp about the edges, managed to sign. Returned as found. Tftc!
Matagouri and I have headed this way, targeting this nice trail of caches along the walk/cycleway, so as to put a dent in the latest souvenir challenge. It took a wee bit of searching to find it, and then a bit of work to coax the log out, but we got there. The log definitely is there! Thanks for putting this here
**21,083**Nice to take a moment to stop and enjoy the view (and wait out a passing muggle) before locating this cache. TFTC
Nice geo, found it with geodog on walk near where we are visiting family , nice spot!
Awesome just found it thank you, also saw a fellow geocasher going for a walk so hi thanks for the hint! x
First time on the Southern Path. I see a line of caches and I made a plan to bike ride out here. Nice ride in November today even though it said 20c there was some surprise rain. Hint: on western side
Good find, fun and clever. Could not get the paper out to sign though, shoved in too tight!!!!
Too windy for the 3 yr old so have to give it a pass for today after a 5 minute search.
Cute cache. Mr 9 found it easily as someone had left the log paper hanging out!! We signed it and put it back properly. Saw lots of big fish just down from this spot.
Found it on our way back. Was initially looking on the wrong side. Found it after reading the past activity and looking for something that doesn’t match the rest of the barrier
I didn't have any plans to go away for King's Birthday as I would be going on a road trip in a few weeks. This meant I would be staying in Auckland. The weather forecast wasn't that great for Monday, but in the end, it actually held out until just as I arrived back to the car.
Didn't have too much trouble locating this one, but had to wait out a woman and child on a scooter before I could grab the cache. This one definitely won't rust!

A replacement cache container has been constructed and is ready to be replaced at the location. Now just waiting for a day when the weather, the time and other commitments all align to allow us to go and place the cache. Fingers crossed for this coming weekend.
Extremely hard! Found it but u wudnt even know its a cache as so rusted and cant open
Found with Reny90 and bigmama128 on a nice sunny bike ride. Tho the log has soaked up the corrosion so it can't be written on anymore
Based my whole search on the word "corrosion" from someone's previous log, thank you for the bonus hint didn't sign but pic for proof
Headed here today to loosen the cache, but discovered it has already been done. Thank you for that.
The log is not really able to be written on and we didn't have another with us today, so until we get back there, please send us a photo of the cache to verify the find.

Geo Mum and Geo girl are out for the day. Geo dad and geo boy 8 decided to head out for a quick geocache session before home to watch Bathurst for the afternoon. Cache 4 for today. Couldn’t open due to corrosion but will send owner a photo. TFTC.
Pretty sure we found the cache but unable to open it. Will send photos to owner. TFTC
Just about at GZ when GAR rang to say he was on his way to pick me up. Hoped I could find this one and the next before heading to the road to meet him. For this one I did make a relatively quick find which was lucky. Another nice hide HeMaLuDy - you guys have spent a lot of time on these caches by the looks! Was a bit scared the strong winds were going to blow the log away but I managed to keep it all safe, whew.
Out walking the Southern pathway to make a few more finds this afternoon. We wandered along as far as this cache and began making a search. It did take some time, but eventually we spotted something that was slightly out of place. A very nice hide for the location. Thanks.
Time to turn around.
Time to turn around.
On a bike ride with rebel98 along the trail, some finds, a few DNF, and some did not get a chance to search due to muggles.
Thanks for the hide HeMaLudy

This walkway wasn't open last time I was in Auckland, so certainly enjoying the views, and the bike ride, soon found after checking a couple of spots, TFTC
Looked for ages. Finally spotted something out of the ordinary.. Found on my way back. Unbelievable hide. Very cool.
Pretty windy here today, with the log fluttering in the wind.
Thanks for rhis cool hide.

This was another cache that blended in nicely and took a few passes before we found it. Thanks for another cache placement.
Little bit tricky but once the eyes refocussed, nice find. Good blending camo. TFTC
MrNZT made a very detailed inventory of this section of bridge and came up trumps. enjoyed watching the water rushing through the inlet on the incoming tide. By the time we finished the cycle way, had a snack break and biked back the water was heading in the opposite direction - very impressive! TFTC!
Out and about on a bike ride for a few hours with NZ Travellers and laval.
Hmmm where could this one be....up and down, around and around and then suddenly Mr NZT made that reassuring sound that only means one thing...found it! Yay.
It was nice to look up from signing the log and see the island that Team SEAC walked to for the cache so many years ago - great trip down memory lane so yes we enjoyed the view here.
Thanks for the cache.

7956 Having a lazy day at home when ABCDF4 rang to say that they were going to the Papakura area and they could drop me at one end and pick me up at the other. So I jumped at the opportunity. Enjoyed the walk and good to see it being well used though that made it challenging when grabbing some caches.
I did enjoy the view and signing the log. View so much better when the tide is in.
Thank you for the placement.

Sorry about the difficulty opening the cahce, it had rusted slightly. Cache visited today and after applying CRC the cache can now be opened again.
On our count up to 1000th find this makes 18 to go, well you must have been just behind us as we too had difficulty open this little blighter, also took a pic but wont post any spoilers.

Out around Auckland picking up a pile of caches for a countdown to my 10,000th cache in a week or so, hopefully on Mnt Ruapehu at one of the huts.
When I parked up here on my e-bike, I could see this might take a while. I searched both sides of the railings pretty carefully I thought, but the cache wasn't obvious. But when I realised I was probably in the middle of the bridge, I realised I parked spot on, did another search and viola! But do you think I could get the cache open? No way, I must add some pliers to my pannier bags next time apart from all the other paraphernalia.
Hope you don't mind guys, I just took a foto and still claiming this as a find. (Foto can be seen by you obviously if you want).

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… We bolted from the Huntly Community Event and made our way north. The plan was for us to soldier on until our friends caught up with us… And then we met.
After repositioning vehicles, we decided to attack the Southern Motorway trail with much enthusiasm… Just when we’d felt secure in our knowledge of this CO’s hiding style, we arrived at this cache. After several attempts and lots of time later, we had to bite the bullet and move on…
Much later, we sent Mr ABCDF4 back for another hunt. Together with other cachers, they found the target. But the lid was on so tight and it refused to budge. Claiming a find for now, but will return once we see maintenance. Happy to watch this cache for now. Thanks HeMaLuDy and TFTC.

After Attending a couple of events in Huntly decided to go abcdf4 ad a couple of caching friends to do the trail.
As we arrived at the GZ we noticed some other cachers so we asked them if they had found it yet. Turns out they were still looking too. We spent some good time looking here this afternoon for this one and were about to give up when luckily one of us noticed something different. We doubled checked to confirm and there it was the cache now in our hands. So we told the other cachers too. Unfortunately we were unable to get into it though and didnt have time to wait for them to get their tools. We have taken a picture as evidence if you require. very clever and well hidden cache. Nice to be able to work as a team for this one.
After parking our car in Karaka, we headed out to explore the Southern Cycleway on our bikes. The tide was in and while we stopped to enjoy the view, we also stopped to find this well crafted cache which is plain sight. Thanks for the excuse to stop on a very hot sunny morning.
You are right, it is a lovely view from here. Sun was just rising behind me as i found it. End was very tightly shut and i had an immense amount of trouble trying to open. Got there in the end though. TFTC!
It took us a few minutes to spot this one, made slightly more difficult by a lot of muggles coming and going. But it gave us a chance to stop and admire the view which was very pretty at this time of night with the sun shining through the clouds as it was setting.
After a close inspection we noticed something that didn't seem quite right and were pleased to see it was the nicely placed cache.
Now off to get one more before it gets dark.

We were very appreciative of the breeze across the bridge as this took us a little while to find. Thankfully after searching for a few minutes Nette turned and spotted something a little different and there it was
Took me a few minutes but finally spotted the "something different" here...
Hope it stays safe!
Lovely walk....great how it all gets lit up at 9 pm too.
Plenty of folk still Walking, Cycling, Skateboaring , Scootering and baby or dog walking!
I was a minority walking solo!
