On our way home Te Arai we decided to stop off here and grab a couple more caches. Parked up on Hamilton Road and made our way along the footpath. The rain stopped us from reaching the end of the trail so after finding this one we turned around and made our way back to the car. Would love to do this walk on a sunnier day and collect the caches we missed.
Bit tricky to uncover, lots of growth covering it. And it's not a false rock anymore.
Thank you once again G-2 for bringing me to a nice walk that I would not have known was there otherwise. I really do enjoy chasing your caches... Keep up the great work.
After a good walk around Tawharanui this morning, I stopped at this small little trail near Sandspit to take a look for the caches along here. I parked on the gravel side road and walked to the cafe and back again. The trail was quite muddy in places, but I found all caches without any problems. TFTC!
it was a muddy muddy muddy track, but without the caches we would have not come to this place .. so TFTC
Merlot58 and I then moved location to the Duck Creek Trail for me to sign off a few more caches.
This cache was easily spied as the lid was uppermost. I replaced it with the lid down.
Cheers for the cache, G-2.

Found the cache easily though slightly different to hint given. Cache is all good. TFTC
Wot a name for a bridge - even if it IS in Sandspit. Well I'm loving this neat walk, but this has become my first DNF like the others before me. Is this a problem? Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin. I have come prepared, in my caching bag (in foto, which FMZ gave me after a trip to Seattle) I have supplies for such a situation, I had a large plastic specimen bottle on hand or is that in my hand... no specimens taken here today G.... I promise.
So I replaced the hide today, cache will be found as per the hint. Can't have a gap in the ration book (old saying).

Looked for a while, but looks like it was removed. A circle of dead grass where I assume it used to be!
After we found the first cache on this trail some 8 years ago we were walking here regularly over the years. But only now we went to hunt down all the new caches along this, at the moment rather muddy, trail. TFTC
Sadly, making assumptions had us here longer than necessary. Then reread everything and realised our mistake and soon thereafter had the cache in hand. At this point GAR decided to head back to the car with the mutts and daughter and I went on to the other end, looking for the remaining as-yet-unfound caches.
No spitting was attempted today but we did briefly contemplate a game of Pooh Sticks however the water was running a bit too fast for so we just looked for the cache instead.
A nice quick find.
Only two to go now before a visit to the cafe.
TFTC.

Lots of long grass around the place that we looked through until we finally spotted the rock and realised we didn’t need to look through the grass
Last one in this direction...loved the walk.
We met a lady who offered to sell us her nearby farm, with large totaras.

Last one on the trail for me, so another turn around point. Love all the work that has been done on the walkway and a nice set of caches. Cheers
I thoroughly enjoyed this trail, we're nearing the end now and I'm looking forward to a coffee at the cafe along the road
Out for the day with Merlot58, S/N and Nette to find the latest G2 caches in the area. Another quick find here and we rocked on to the next one. TFTC
Glad there was no spitting going on today...on this bridge or anywhere we went to in Sandspit today!
Very pleasant way to spent the day...out catching up with mates while enjoying our obsessive hobby ; and forgetting about our worries from the past week.
No dnfs with four pairs of eyes...or 5 if you count my glasses!

On a day mission caching with B4Dawn. This took us a few moments to find as we went to far along and overlooked the cache guardian. Soon corrected and we were on our way again. Thanks for the cache.
Team G0LD had planned to cache in Orewa today, get 50 caches and clean up that area. Such a nice surprise to see all these new ones published. We left Whangarei 10 minutes earlier than planned and made the short diversion out this way to try for the ftfs along this trail.
The idea of a spitoon is gross but the alternative of no bowl and spit everywhere is less appealing. Glad times have changed and such things are unacceptable these days. With the worldwide covid pandemic I'm sure people are getting more of an idea of how to avoid spreading bugs and diseases.
This was an easy find for the {FTF} at 8.22am. This container type is seen reasonably often but this one looked like a neat version of it. Thanks again for the cache

On a caching mission this morning with Keylev. I had mentioned that I wanted to hit 100 caches this week. Managed to get up to 50 so today was going to be the big one!
Keylev saw a few FTFs up here and was keen to give it a go. I'm always good for caches so it didn't bother me one bit! Apologies for the copy and paste but there were a few caches her but appreciate the new caches here! TFTC

[FTF] Out with Team Gold this morning (0B80B8 and Liscrew) to collect a few caches to keep our numbers up. This series pop up last night, so we though we would give a FTF a go. Pete found this one relativity quickly. Yay another empty log, TFTC
