No luck for us today either. GZ has had some work done around it but we persevered to try to find it as I've had it solved for a good while! We shall be back Smile

Ill check on this hide next week. MM

Regarding the puzzle, I remember solving this when it was first published, but it was too far for me to contemplate the FTF race.Today whilst visiting Fernvale for lunch, I obtained permission from the family to detour past this location before heading home. A good 10-15 min search around GZ was unable to locate this cache, so I'm not sure if it may be missing, or just too good for my search today. Thanks anyway [Ms Maddy](https://coord.info/PR7A4AG) for the cache placement.----------This morning, [jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T), baby Cottontail, baby Mopsy, and I joined [arewethere?](https://coord.info/PR2J301) with a short walk in Pine Mountain Bush Reserve. After walking a short circuit(-ish), we visited the nearby cemeteries of different denominations, before the family headed to Fernvale for a bakery lunch and relaxed on its nearby lawns and playground.

This took us a good while to solve and even longer to make the journey to Fernvale to find it (even though its our closest to home unfound for over a year). Today we changed that. We were surprised to see a square metal frame padlocked to the host tree and wondered if it was part of the cache. But after a good look, clearly not. Cache is all in good condition. Thank you for the puzzle and cache.

Found this cache while out exploring the local area today.I was stumped with the puzzle for a while but with some help from the CO I soon saw what I was doing wrong. At GZ I had to navigate very tall grass before arriving at GZ. The council haven't had the mowers out here lately.Once at GZ it took a good 10 mins before I finally spied the little bugger in its spot.TFTC

I first heard this poem on a Simpsons episode and thought it was so cool that I went and looked up the original. I have loved it ever since. So when I saw this puzzle cache I was keen to solve it and thankfully it wasnt too tricky. Today I was heading to Sommerset with GeoM so we stopped to look for the cache. He was quick to find it but when he opened it there was no log. I found the log lying on the ground so we are calling this a joint find. Thanks Ms Maddy for the great puzzle and the fun hide!

Easy find. TFTC.

I had solved this puzzle some time ago, but had not been in the area to find it. So, today, after attending a nearby event, Mr CuriousQuest and I headed to GZ. We arrived at the same time as IolantheK and T-tech. A joint effort was made for the search. Cache located, names added to the log and we were on our way again. TFTC

Out with IolantheK doing some radio field trials up the Brisbane valley and collecting some caches as we went [^]
IolantheK did the work on the puzzle this time [^]
Nice easy find at solved co-ords, just a bit hard to spot.

Today T-Tech and I have a whole day of geocaching planned!!! We drove from our place via Mount Glorious to Fernvale for an Event, then on to Coominya and Wivenhoe Hill, before heading north through Esk and Yimbun and along Gregor's Creek Road to Kilcoy. Loads of fun!

After the Event at Fernvale we made sure to visit this cache as I had it solved. Selva Girls and CuriousQuest arrived as we did so we headed in together. CuriousQuest made the find and I added everyone's initials. TFTC, Ms Maddy.

We are now heading north to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria. Loving our time around Brisbane and around the area. Today we went for a drive out around Wivenhoe dam and grabbed a few along the way.

Stopped off here for a cuppa with Moosetash and took at this puzzle. It was only after a bit of head scratching that Mr M had a bingo moment. Headed to GZ, where some baby plovers were exercising.

Thanks Ms Maddy for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

05-Aug-23
We stopped for a coffee and saw this cache on the map. A look at the puzzle didn’t yield much, so went for a walk around. Had another look at the description and everything clicked into place. A quick find at GZ… although watch the thorns and the plovers with their chicks. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide.

Finally solved this one. Smile
A bit of a search to find the cache. Not where I expected.
Thanks for the cache.

04-Jun-23
Solved at an earlier event of Ms Maddy's and picked up during a caching trip. Had a good crack at it but no luck so had to get SF70 to assist Smile Replaced the log as we found the bottom half on the ground but everything is GTG now. Thanks for placing Smile TFTC.

This takes me back to high school english classes where the raven seemed to do little else but quoth "nevermore". Had to go and find the old poetry book to read it again. Sadly, didn't help at all with decoding the puzzle. Harking back to previous Ms Maddy offerings, soon had some information and the rest had to wait until we were in the area. Of all the times we have driven around here, we had no idea there was this much development of family housing. No trouble from muggles - kids must be all getting haircuts and new shoes for school start this week rather than playing outside, though we did see a couple of adults on ride-on mowers. However while searching we were pretty well hidden from sight, and Mrs George soon spotted the cache, where it would most likely not be spotted by casual children on the swing. TFTC, Ms Maddy.

Hanging around with the birdies Smile What a lovely shady area - it was much needed today because it was so hot in the full sun.
I solved this puzzle just before the event the CO held a while back but ended up having a fall and couldn’t attend.
Today I was fully able and willing to attend her New Years Cake event as it was the last week in my 4th round of chemo and feeling pretty good. With this one ticked off it was time to venture back to Wivenhoe area to tick a couple more off my to do list.
Was a great day out with MrGravel so thanks MsMaddy for todays event and for this cache!

9994.

Left Bargara at 5.30am to journey to Brisbane arriving there at 1.30 pm. Plan is to find some caches on the way down. Thought this route would be much easier than trying to battle the traffic on the Bruce Highway

Parked close and a short walk started my search. Relying on good accurate co ordinates i looked and looked and was about to walk away when I had a thought and went towards the fence a little and there hiding up on a branch and not hanging it was having a lie down I spied the cache. Good hide. . I soon had my yof in the log. . TFTC Ms Maddy.

I loved this puzzle and today after a picnic at Red Cedar we were passing this way so i wanted to turn it into a smiley. At GZ there was no one around and i soon spotted this cache. Thanks for another great puzzle and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy

After completing the England creek falls multi, it was time to head home.
This pre-solved puzzle was on the way home so decided to stop and get it.

I first found just the lid and then found some scraps of log and further digging uncovered the bottom of the container. I didn’t have any spare logs with me so signed a scrap bit of paper and replaced it all to where it belonged

We were here several months ago and there was so many children playing right at GZ, decision made, time to move on and come back at another time. After being here today we believe that the local children know all about this cache. SL TFTC

With a group ride scheduled for the BVRT I did a check of any caches along the way to find a couple had popped up since my last ride through this route. Oh dear, a puzzle but a hint in another finder's log had me looking back to realize how this worked.

With coffee completed Rosie and I left the group to seek out this cache and extend the ride a little further than the others. Not sure who has been pruning branches off here but it made the find so much easier, just watch the thorns on the asparagus fern grown in the middle.

Now how far is it to the next stop?

No Ravens were encountered during the ride. However, magpies are certainly starting to survey targets.

It looks like it was very busy in the Fernvale/Esk/Toogoolawah area today.
Solved the puzzle a little while ago and so stopped on the way to make an easy find at GZ.
Thanks for the interesting puzzle Ms Maddy.

Quoth is a raven who lived at a wizard's in Quirm. He is now the mount of the Death of Rats, but as he says himself: "I'm only in it for the eyeballs." He is named Quoth, as in "Quoth the Raven". The raven himself is not fond of the name imposed on him and refuses to utter "the N-word" (“Nevermore”) Quoth has been known to get irritated if circumstances ever lead to a suggestion that he might be forced to say the word.

Out in the area today for the lovely COs event, then visiting several caches in the area with chamad. This was next on the list ... I hadn't had an opportunity to solve it prior to our visit but have now!
The cache was quickly found after arriving at gz, the ground was still quite soggy underfoot, but we managed to get in and out without any problems.
Thanks Ms Maddy for the great puzzle and cache.

After attending the event in the area, this was the closest cache in the area and a reasonably new one so off for another adventure. We had solved the while sitting in our armchair the evening before.

Found and replaced.

After attending an Event nearby you can't pass up a new cache so a quick solve after a clue from fellow cacher and co ords added we were on our way, RoddyC, Hatsoff GrannySmith1947 and me. Parked the car and headed through the wet field to GZ and Hatsoff was onto it in a flash
Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC

Out today with Willis007, it was going to be a short day of caching. We had an event and some caches to grab around the Ipswich and Fernvale areas. The plan was to first stop at the event and then work our way back to home via a few fun caches. We did have a fun day, first the event and then it was a drive around Ipswich and Brassells looking at caches.

We got a few good caches and got to chase a few butterflies along the way. I solved this one with a little push along from a fellow cacher. An easy find here and with our names in the log we replaced the cache as found. We set off and just as we left, 3 other teams were just pulling up, lol. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

04-Jun-22
I solved this easily when it came out as I've seen a similar puzzle from the CO previously but it was a bit far away for an FTF at the time. Today we were out here for the event and made a quick stop on the way for a quick find. Thanks for the cache

Came to Fernvale for an event. Nice to do some caches afterwards.

Amazing how damp it still is underfoot. Time to mow the grass.

Log signed and cache replaced as found at 11:46 am on 4 June 2022. TFTC, Ms Maddy

It was a late start today, but I ultimately decided that this rare day of sunshine was too good to pass up… So heading west I did a loop that included Laidley, Atkinson Dam, Esk, Fernvale and finally Blacksoil…

I looked at this puzzle and nothing jumped out at me… poetry does make me shudder though… thanks to Mr Cooper in year 7 English… but I digress… much smarter people than me saw what had to be done… many hands make light work…

Pulling up at GZ, I kept the hint/request in mind and donned a ghillie suit to get closer… jumping the ditch, which turned out to be useless as it was the driest part of the whole area, I squelched my way to the cache…

Eventually spotting the container I may have accidentally removed one or two small “twigs” in the retrieval and return process…

Tftc… Is it wine o’clock yet?

With a catch up planned with the in-laws in Crows Nest over the weekend, I spotted this newly published cache appearing along the route for our drive up from Brisbane.

I managed to put a couple of crosses on the checker with a few random guesses before properly delving into the puzzle and soon spotted what was required. Acquiring a green tick on the checker I just had to wait a couple of days until we would be heading off.

With bad traffic on the way out of Brisbane and then getting stuck behind every slow car from then on, we were already behind schedule and I barely had enough time to detour to GZ for a look.

The day so far had been one of those that I should have just stayed in bed and pulled the covers up over my head, and arriving at GZ I fully expected a DNF just to round out the experience. After a few sweeps of the area I managed to spot the cache dangling from its hide, and quickly signed my name in the log as **FTF** as the mozzies swooped in.

A dash back to the car, and we were off again, with only a couple of minutes difference in our ETA and booked dinner reservation. Even more slow cars impeded our progress but we managed to arrive just in time, where I then had to endure (as designated driver) the rest of the family slowly getting sozzled and rowdier the remainder of the evening. Thank you for providing the only highlight of the day. TFTC
