TFTC. On the way to Port Campbell from Ballarat and decided to quickly grab this one off the main road. Loved seeing the sheep on the oval. How good are country towns!
A morning drive had is out near here so it was time to nab a cache or two! Thanks for the cache - not sure this venue gets much use!
We are still in the Ballarat region and today we decided to head south to pick up a few of the caches that are either new or that we just have not got to on our many trips to the area. The decision was to head as far south as Cressy as we did not leave the van until 11.30 making it a short day for us. There was only one cache we did not attempt and that was 'How Deep the Woady'. We have looked at this one on previous visit's and both times we have chosen that it was not quite the one for us to do. All in all we had a fun day. SL TFTC
We were in the area for the fantastic GIFF event last night and then after attending The morning after the big night in Creswick event this morning we decided to grab a few caches as we headed to Portland to visit dad.As per normal we approached this one from the wrong side and found an obstacle between us and the cache. Not being as young as we used to be we decided to drive back through the gate and get a bit closer using our wheels. This also gave us a better view of the hall and recreation area and although it doesn't look as though it gets a lot of use it is still well maintained.Once at gz the cache was a nice easy find and after adding our name to the log book we returned everything as found. Many thanks for showing us a different part of town.
After attending 2 events in Smythesdale we continued on to Cape Clear with wozzle68 to seek out the latest caches in the area. With the rec reserve deserted today we were able to make a muggle free find, adding our team name to the logbook.
Thanks Perpetuallylost for the placement.

After looking in the wrong spot, Mr P and Mr 7 moved along and Mr 7 spotted it. TFTC
As Glanville Girls mentioned we found ourselves on the wrong side of a nasty barrier and had to rethink our approach. Thanks for the hide.
after approaching this one from the wrong direction with stood back, had a think and realised there was an easier way. A nice quick find at GZ. Thanks for placing.
Out on a day trip from Ballarat and stopped for this one as I was heading back. Went down the wrong side of the fence, however it was an easy squeeze to get to GZ where the cache was soon in hand. Log signed, then back the same way and off for a couple of multis.
Thanks Perpetuallylost....cache all good.

Travelling between Warnambool and Ballarat and stopped off for this one. Thanks left trackable
Good to see Cape Clear with a couple more caches. Not much life here outside the coffee van which was handy.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Found It........Stopped by here on the way home from shopping in Ballarat. After pulling up in the Geo Truck we set off in search of the cache and after a short stroll we had the container in hand. So with the log signed and container replaced we continued our journey homeward. Thanks Perpetuallylost for the cache. P.S. sorry for the late log as i just realised we hadn't logged it while working out another caching run.
Thanks to Perpetuallylost for this cache, a nice quiet area this morning.
We were heading towards the approaching cold front.
Hope it doesn't rain too much.

Found on our way to Warrnambool for the weekend. Could almost cut hay off the oval today. All is well with the cache.

Carrying a geocoin that wants to visit lighthouses - even this is miles inland, is near the lighthouse hotel so took quick detour.
Found with McAdies and Geo_Eddie.
A nice quiet little town out here.
Thanks for hiding this cache for us to find.

Thanks for the hide.
We visited Cape Clear for International Geocaching Day to find the few caches in town.
This reserve hasn't seen any sport for a while it seems.
Cache found in good condition in a likely spot. Thanks for the hide.

Heading homeward after a week or so in the great company of Suscoe around Millicent. The little green icon beckoned from the side of the map, we couldn't resist. A nice quick find for cachers.
Perhaps some ID to ensure muggles don't just "Click & Collect" the container might make it more secure.
Thanks Perpetuallylost for placing caches in interesting locations.

[FTF] Yay!!!
After recording a DNF from a cache on the rail trail in Linton I had walked back to the car in the rain and checked my email. Ooh, new caches! Oh, not near me. Oh hang on, Cape Clear! I was not far from there so I turned the heater on full blast and started driving.
On the way there it poured. And poured and poured and poured some more. I wondered if the cache had been found yet. I was excited at the prospect of getting my second FTF. My first and only FTF had been a muggled cache so I was hoping that if I was the first finder that this time would be different.
My GPS took me straight to the Recreation Oval road but I thought it might be easier to go down another road that ran close by. I took one look at the dirt road, quickly filling up with puddles and decided against it. Good choice! I parked my car at the hall and I was the only one there. It was still raining but it had fortunately eased off. The oval was muddy and slippery and full of puddles so I chose my path carefully.
It didn’t take long to find the cache at GZ. There it was, hiding away, just waiting to be found. I hesitantly opened the container, what would I find? I had already checked the caching app to see if anyone had logged it. No one had. When I opened it I let out a huge breath. I didn’t even realise I’d been holding my breath! There it was. A blank log. Finally, a FTF! An unmuggled FTF! With a TB in it! I excitedly signed the log book and returned the cache to its spot. It’s done well with all the rain. It’s in excellent condition.
I did the excited little FTF dance that just goes with finding new caches. When I was driving out of the reserve another car had just pulled in to the driveway. Was it a cacher? I didn’t know. I was so happy that I waved to them excitedly and smiled before driving off. Now I’m home and logging all my days efforts, I don’t think it was another cacher. Whoever it was probably thought I was crazy! I’m still giggling about that now.
Thanks Perpetuallylost for the experience of finding your cache. Everything just fell into place and it was meant to be. I’m leaving a favourite point for the whole experience. I had a great time. TFTC
