Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Next up to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Firstly heading back south for some Canberra time.TFTC. After a rather strange and eerie night in Ravenswood we again tried to get lots of kms done. Well... only made it 150km to Bowen.Lots of great stops and scenery.Great hide and nice quick find.
It's an odd thought there are many who don't know the phone box, shows my age! A nice straightforward find here today. We came to Ravenswood for an earthcache, ended up caching the town, exploring, met the locals and stayed last night. So, this morning we made that our first stop, worth the detour and the town experience.Seems we can't escape Townsville as we head back in that general direction, and all roads, all day had it highlighted and temping us back despite now heading south. Some time in Ayr, and Bowen. Adventure labs featured, as did earthcaches, and others. Lookouts and peaks, a few short walks but views, fields of cane and melons and coastal scenery. It was 30C by 10am and stayed there all day till the sun went down. We made it to Bowen where we stopped at sacada's friends for the evening. Not a lot of distance, but a good, full day still. Thanks for your cache that helped guide us through the area.
Found under the cover of darkness which doesnt really work in a lot up box! Haha *The generic bit for this trip*We are on now on our way south after heading north for warmer weather. From Cooktown back to Notth East Victoria, weaving inland and to the coast, caching as we go. No real plans, just taking each day as it comes and enjoying the adventure in our converted ambulance. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining caches for our enjoyment.
Found it TFTC Found in good condition. Not quite the Tardis maybe the chameleon circuit is broken again
Getting some hours up with the learning driver before she turns 17 next month we headed to Ayr for the day. Nice little container. Thanks emilywanders for getting me off the couch.
Day 9 of our NQ holiday & we have stopped for a few quick finds before running some errands in town... Log was quickly found but no sign of the container here?

Towing the caravan with geodog Peppa and geocat Levin in the car.
We’re heading to Townsville but pulled into Ayr for a watertank AL waypoint that we started in Mackay, I wanted to grab a trad whilst we were here and this one was the closest.
We found the log without a container m, signed it and replaced it.

Mrs CNQ used to teach just music to primary school students and had a picture of a record player once, one kid said they had them in the olden days. Cache was a quick find using th mobile to navigate heading back into Ayr near lunch time, thanks again emilywanders.
Up from Mackay for a few finds to help Signal to get home.

Quick find as I was still using those in my childhood.
It has been quite some time since I explored the general Burdekin region. Numerous years ago we stayed in town overnight, did a dive at the SS Yongala and enjoyed the little town a little more before continuing further. Since that time we usually only rushed through to leave as much bitumen behind us as possible with the aim of exploring locations down south. Also a few more wet visits at the Yongala followed, but all of those were made via liveaboars.
But not this time. This time I specifically took the time to enjoy the area. Well, and what better to do than searching for all these great new caches that have fairly recently been added to the map. Thank you very much emilywanders that you have created this cache and showed me the area! Much appreciated.

With the release of the latest labyrinth challenge, and a job happening just down the road, I found myself picking up a few of your caches around Ayr.
Having lived 52+ years, I do know what that is. A much need piece of infrastructure from years gone by, and could still come in handy
Thanks emilywanders for the fun and challenge of locating this Traditional

Kids knew what it was. They always stop to play with the phones and try calling people

I did enjoy this one. I looked in a couple of spots before happening to come across the hide. Good to see you are living up to your caching name again, back out to my old hunting ground. Just a short Hosan_Wanders today for me. Thanks for the cache. Nice to see a number of new ones on the map down here.
Staying in Ayr for a few nights.
Yes, feeling a bit dated right now, great find though.

[FTF]. This location brings back a lot of memories from my high school years. This location was the local convenience store and I remember sneaking there in school hours to get lollies for class to share with friend. A lot of good laugh and fun was held in this location. TFTC Emilywanders.
Whilst out and about we thought we would make a quick detour to pick up this newly placed cache. TFTC
