Geodog and I checked on this cache on our walk today. The cache is still in place where originally positioned.Rustic means OLD, not plastic. The cache is at the location of the end of the original bridge which was removed a century ago.The modern "plastic" walkway was installed after the cache was placed and has nothing to do with the cache.
TFTC from the Kayakviking! Nice little walk. The clue is accurate just need to interpret. Not the obvious spot. No find on way out. On wander back we rechecked the less obvious and CIH.Cheers KV
What would a day out caching be without a DNF?Read old logs, and tried our best, but no luck with this one today.
We looked everywhere here, under around for about 45 minutes and then decided because of the dark to call it off . Maybe another time.
omg i did not think i was going to find this one. i had literally opened messages intending to ask CO for a hint as i was starting to think i was in the wrong place (def more than 3 steps, def too much mud ) when i thought id better check my other suspicion real quick and bam, there it was, no extra hint needed TFTC!!
Had a good look but was not able to put my hand on it. Wish I had as good a hint as the one at the rock down the path! Ill be back. Thanks for the walk.
I failed once or twice before but persistence and the extra hints paid off. Still took a long search. SL TFTC
Yes! I arrived without Mr Gaztek and with determination. Turns out I needed it because I was wandering much further and wider than I needed to until I stopped and had a think. We had a DNF in December 2023, no one had found it since but the CO had checked it was in place and left a few new hints. I'm not much taller than the CO so I had a stature and step indicator that narrowed my search. I had sought sandstone with holes unsuccessfully but had another thought. This CO does not just throw things about in the bush. The container would be pretty secure and I recalled a time when, with the straight face, the CO had let me literally put my hands on one of her container attachments and not let on how close I was. Hmmm! I started again and bingo! There are multiple potential locations to search but it is roughly in the vicinity of wiggly coordinates. You just have to keep a keen eye out. Enjoyable to visit this place again on a sunny day! SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Sad I have already tried this one with mailman but still walked by and couldnt find anything thanks anyway
Geodog and I checked on this cache on our walk today. It's safely hidden and the logbook is nice and dry.Extra hint "it's 3 steps away from the boardwalk, where the Rustic Bridge was situated".Put it on your caching list for 2024.
A pleasant walk in the misty rain meant the cache could be checked without any passing muggles. The cache is still in place where originally positioned. The cache is at the location of the end of the original bridge which was removed a century ago.The modern "plastic" walkway was installed after the cache was placed and has nothing to do with the cache.
No luck for us here today. We stopped both on the way in and on the way out. The mosquitos had more success than us. Never mind. Its such a nice track, well return after we have a think about some places it might be hidden. Cheers Gaztek
Found It!This one took a lot of searching. Cut my finger on one of those pointy grass/reed like things (the cache isn't in them so stay clear of them, they are sharp). Eventually took the PAF option and found the cache about 5m away.TFTC
Thats a nasty hide. Knowing o had to ignore the walkway was a starting point and I soon spotted it with the help of good coordinates. TFTC.
This one had us spinning in circles with the completely wrong idea. Discobob3 PAF to CO to get us on the right train of thought and then DB3 made an instant find on our return to GZ. As others have said the coordinates are pretty good given the tree cover. I loved the lillies further up the path and lots of them were blooming today TFTC
Met up with jennyfromthefarm to do a string of caches in riverview today. We looked and looked and after no luck, even with a few comments in the log not really helping. We messaged the CO for some help and went on our way. With some more direction from the CO soon after we made a quick find on our way back past. Thanks for placing. Would love to know which direction the bridge actually went originally, as it wasn't to clear from the sign.
Finally turned my DNF into a smiley, quite a tricky hide with relatively accurate coords, thanks Jackscruff
Ran down here with use of my phone as light was nearly gone. Couldn’t see anything in the darkness, I’ll return when the sun comes back one day
Nice walk in old forest, many geological and botanical marvels here.
Almost expected to see alligators coming out of the swamp.
Challenging search and clever camo, thanks jackscruff

Beaut spot for a walk. Fascinating rock features and wonderful, tall trees. As I looked in the wrong spots, MP soon cried "I think this is it" and it was. Thanks Jackscruff.
Stopped off on my way home from work today for a few caches around the Greenwich & Longueville areas. Started with an Adventure Lab Bonus cache, then went for a pleasant stroll along Tambourine Creek in Warraroon Reserve at Longueville for a couple of Traditionals and a MultiCache. This was the 3rd of 4 finds for today.
This was the next of the CO's caches I came to along the track. Searched at and around GZ for a considerable amount of time, checking & rechecking the many possible hiding spots, and was thankful the CO had kindly ruled out the most obvious feature at GZ. Eventually uncovered the hide and had CIH. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found.
Had a look for the holes in the sandstone that's mentioned on the information sign, where the old bridge supports once stood, but failed to find any trace of them. The information sign is looking a bit worse for wear, and is getting a bit hard to read, but is still an interesting read. Now to head up past "Hodgson's Rock" to the MultiCache. TFTC Jackscruff.

Finally! After five goes! Thanks to the CO who patiently sent me hints - mostly where NOT to look which narrowed the search area, and for maintaining the cache! Thankfully this golden orb spider wasn’t at GZ that I encountered on a previous search!
Not too far away from here we had the engagement party for Geoson #2 this afternoon. With festivities wrapping up about 5pm, I had time to divert to this cache on my way home.
Parked in Karingal Road, and made my way to GZ.
Glad the event was casual, as it enabled me to get down and dirty where necessary.
OK, so not there, but where?
Had a few ideas, and one most likely spot, but nothing was panning out. Checked both sides of the walkway but nothing had revealed itself after 20 minutes. And there are so many possible hidey holes here.
Decided to concentrate on one hide type after reading the logs. And only a metre or two from my most likely spot I spied a tell. Gotcha!
Added my ink to the log and replaced with enough camo to make it difficult, but not impossible.
Time to head home and collapse!

I have increased the difficulty level slightly.
I have also added some information to the hint "The 'plastic' walkway was installed after the cache was placed and has NOTHING to do with the cache."

A trip over to the north side with Oldmorty was the order of the day. After having no luck at the last cache we soon found ourselves on a boardwalk looking all under it, around it, outside it, reading past logs, looking for an "attaching mechanism". Yes the gps on the iphone was bouncing so maybe it needs a difficulty increase or more revealing hint? Unfortunately majority of cachers use smart phones so more help is always going to get more finds. TFTC!
Ventured over to the Northern Suburbs today with morty8888. A tough 1.5 difficulty.
Second try after CO confirmed it was still there. GPS kept jumping, even while I was standing still - going from 5m to 45m in all directions so made it hard to narrow the search. Very boggy search area when not on boardwalk! Thanks again!
Walked past for a cache check this afternoon.
I could see the cache on approach, it had not even been rehidden. Very disappointing.
Please read the cache page information - the Rustic Bridge fell down over a century ago, so you won't find it under there.
The cache is however hidden where the bridge started.
Good luck!

Nope - looked in all the obvious places. Thanks anyway, hope it hasn’t been muggled!
Found the cache, but no rustic bridge. Newish walkway though. TFTC Jackscruff.
After finding "End Of The Creek" we followed the trail to this area. I didn't see anything of the rustic bridge, but I did find the cache. Though it took awhile as the GPS goes all over the place under those trees. Eventually I spotted the attaching mechanism and had CIH. We (GeodogZelda and me) added our names and then continued along the track with the CO and JackSoot. TFTC

After a pleasant walk on the trail, the cache was found following a short search. Log signed and replaced. TFTC, and for bringing us to this trail.
