Our 1000 cache!! It's been a Rollercoaster to get to here, but after many many years... got there (the 1000, not the cache, it was spotted reasonably quickly). Logged as TBS12.
A caching weekend in the Penrith area with a group of canberra cachers. Prior puzzle solving had a wealth of caches, more than we could do but made for full days and plenty of choice. Log signed with team name CPI24. (Canberra Penrith Invasion 2024) The group is MinnieK, Fitzy_65, joolay, Contesta, Flintstones, sacada, Gliss, Nibletricecakes, Tankengine, dty73, Youban and myself.Weather was nice and warm and company great. A challenging weekend at times with my ongoing health issues but managed best I could. Lots of events, morning catch ups to focus our day with dinners to relax at the end. Good to meet local cachers at them too.The Saturday was a local busy day, puzzles and others as we passed. Sunday was the pretty day up in the blue mountains with scenery and short walks. Monday was another local day of groups and some independent caching to round out the weekend.
After completing the Nepean River parkrun, Nibletricecakes and I met up with a group from Canberra for a day of caching around Penrith. We had success with most of the targetted caches - many of them puzzles that had been on the solved list for a loooong time. There were a couple of DNFs - a reason to return in the future. Found with Tankengine, Youban, fitzy_1965, minniek, Joolay, contesta, Aquilus1, sacada, DTY74 and Nibletricecakes. We signed as Canberra Penrith Invasion 24 (CPI24)
Found with minniek and the rest of the Canberra Penrith Invasion 2024 Group (consisting of joolay, Contesta, Flintstones (Sunday Monday), sacada, Gliss (Saturday), Nibletricecakes (Saturday), Tankengine, dty73, Youban and Aquilus1 - signing as CPI24.With a long weekend upon us a plan was hatched to do another Penrith Invasion as there are still many quality caches up here that we haven't found. We drove up early this morning and the group gathered at the Panthers Maccas as a starting point. We had a basic list of caches to follow which worked out well. Only a few DNFs along the way which we will try for again next time. The day was a lot of fun. This cache was a nice quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on to the next one. Thanks blacktownman !!
No trains.Up with a group from Canberra running around the Penrith area. Signing as CPI24. for Canberra Penrith Invasion. Thanks for getting me out and about blacktownman
Find # 127985/10/2024 Caching adventures continue and trying to tick off some of the Penrith caches as well as many on the solved pile as we can. this is one such cache, found and signed CPI24 for Canberra Penrith Invaders - consisting of Joolay, Tankengine, dty73, Youban, Sacada, GLISS!, Nibletricecakes, minniek, Aquillis, and Fitzy65. All caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks blacktownman for trains above (sometimes)
Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC. First day of caching Penrith with the Canberra mob (CPI24). A great day collecting lots of solved puzzles, and everything in between.Nice quick find with CPI24
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and youban on a caching invasion of Penrith! Unless trains can fly -they would not be above this cache! signed TYD as the log is full! Thanks blacktownman!
With Tankengine and Dty73 in Penrith. Bit of walk but we got to see a train and find a cache. Kutgw
Traveling with Tankengine and Youban for the long weekend. We are looking forward to meeting up with friends in Penrith this weekend for some caching and fun. Along the way up, we picked up a few caches to break up the drive and stretch our legs. So this cache: Found all good. Log over full. Lucky to have a train go overhead. Felt like I could almost touch it. Tftc!!!
I was heading west today so decided to stop for this cache. Getting in and out of the suggested parking area (not that there was anywhere else close by) was very very slow with lengthy waits each time.I know this area as this park is a great place to sit with views of the river and enjoy serenity. Don't know why I haven't done this cache before.Once here, parking was easy and it was a short walk across to GZ. It took a while to locate the cache but once at the right angle it was easy to see. Signed the log and replaced everything. As I walked back to my geomobile I found a Stanley knife, in perfect condition. Hmm, why would you have a knife around here. Anyway I removed it so all safe for future cachers. Two trains, one east and one west came past as I walked across the park but none while I was here. Would have liked to see that.TFTC # 6158
A quick midweek caching day. Only a few of those each year, so better make the most of it by driving all the way to Penrith and the lower blue mountains.TFTC Wilbert67
Took a while to find, had to check others photos, had no pen so had to walk back to car and get one, replaced as was. Tftc
Tricky find. With my geohusband SurdiVisio who found it last year. It took us 5 mins to spot it. Thanks for my 15th find today
Quick find at gz, although my gps took me a little further - found a discarded hypodermic syringe - so be careful cachers. As I was signing a train went past ! Tftc
A quick find here this afternoon. I was lucky to have an old 4car silver set pass above me, while signing log, thanks.
Find #: 3,545Companions: NoneMuggles: NoneWeather: Pleasant autumn morningCache condition: GoodOn my way up to Katoomba I decided to stop in this area to explore (cool weir, particularly given the high water levels). My approach to the cache was simple, and I soon had CIH - TNLNSL TFTC

A low down easy find, eventually. A high speed train whizzed overhead while I was at GZ and scared the crap out of me, thanks.

A straightforward find while doing the nearby eateries AL. I did check that I was signing the right cache log though ... I note from previous logs that there's an old cache here as well.
OCW frazeydaze. I remember a previous cache here. Quick find with trains above. TFTC
Very simple find! just make sure to be careful with the makeshift toilet nearby
it’s close to it but not next to it so please wash your hands after you find it!
Not many people have written in the cache though!

No, there is definitely still another cache here. Maybe the one that used to be here a few years ago. The old one is amongst the tree connected to the bottom of the fence, but not Blacktown Man's one
There is definitely still an old cache here, further to the left of the current one. I came here on Saturday night with Miltsy92 and found the old one that I'm sure was from a few years ago I found that same one.
I headed back tonight after some intel from the CO that we found the wrong one. After some searching finally came across the correct one and was able to sign with Miltsy92.
Amazing trainspotting place! Absolutely incredible!

The cache & log sheet found by the last cacher doesn't look anything like the one we found & signed a week before them. The signatures on our log sheet photo match the previous online finders of the cache. Accidently logged the wrong cache perhaps ?
TFTC. Tricky find at GZ especially in the dark. Log is torn so photo attached as POF. OCW MF428.
Found on a caching morning out with WaywardWoman. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
