Hard to reach could not see

We had already succeeded twice with fishing in these windy conditions, so we decided to keep the streak up and make it three! You gotta do what you need to do when travelling and cant come back anytime! The cache was spotted without issues and Toy Hunters showed us how much of an expert he is once again with a quick retrieve & replace. TFTC**Signed SLT - Scaphoid, Loci612 and Toy Hunters**

20-Jul-24
Another tree fishing in some unfavourable windy conditions, but we soldiered on, and thankfully this area was more protected from the wind than previous locations. Toy Hunters again expertly did the retrieval and replacement while I admired what a great picnic spot this would be! TFTC Wilbert67

Found with Scaphoid and Loci612 (we signed our initials as SLTs, a sneaky reference to the Heartbreak High reboot). The gale-force winds died down slightly towards the late morning when we arrived at this GZ, which made retrieval and replacing a little easier. Albeit, the fibres of the TOTT that we had started to split apart more, but we still managed to leave with our TOTT in a mostly workable condition. Beautiful area, it was about 11 years since I last came here to find caches! TFTC Wilbert67!

34,844. Found with minniek and Team SHI.We joined a group of Canberra Cachers to tackle a whole bunch of caches around the Shellharbour/Port Kembla region over an ACT only long weekend. We signed our group as Team SHI (ShellHarbour Invasion) which consisted of minniek, Kittykatch, Joolay, contesta, ispoeda, Tankengine, dty73 and myself or if most had already found we signed our own names. I have already found most of the caches attempted this weekend, but I did manage a couple which along with the awesome company made it a great weekend's caching. Day 3. My first find of the day. I've cached all around this reserve previously and always enjoy visiting here. All caches were found in good condition unless stated otherwise. This one was a bit of fun retrieval - I enjoy a fishing pole cache. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on to the next one. Thanks Wilbert67 !! Nicely set up. Fav Point !

Find # 1221626/5/2024 09:02DAY 2Caching adventures continue and trying to tick off as many on the solved pile as I can. Headed across to the coast for the long weekend to meet up with a few other CBR cachers. The main target is the SES series, having worked on these puzzles last year and gradually made the solves. Some with help and others straightforward. Either way it was an enjoyable series, generally. Now its time to collect. And of course with so many others to choose from in this area, its a busy weekend.Always shenanigans in a group as you never quite know what might happen but its guaranteed to be fun! The group consists of Joolay, KittyKatch, isopeda, minniek, fitzy_65, dty73, and Tankengine. Signing as SHIAll caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks Wilbert67 for Blackbutt Reserve

Tankengine and I drove down from Canberra leaving at 6:30am Saturday morning and joined our friends (Kittykatch, Joolay, contesta, Isopeada, minniek and fitzy_1965) and we had become part of the Shellharbour Invasion Team (SHI). We could only stay one night, so up early Sunday for a quick bite to eat and more caching before we had to leave everyone to head home again. We had a fun time caching, logging many finds and a couple DNFs, enjoyed a lovely dinner at the very busy club at the great event on Saturday night and most of all hanging out with great friends. This cache: Great fishing by Kittykatch. She knows how to snag them. Tftc!!!

Took a TOTT for a test run and successfully (other than the sun in my eyes), retrieved and returned the cache. Now I will have a lot more smiling fish in the sea to catch!

Upon reaching GZ realised what would be required. While the cache itself is probably not that hard to find, getting to it is a different matter. Should the Terrain and Difficulty ratings be reversed? I'll be back!

We have a few days to spend in the area over Christmas and the New Year, and before heading up to Sydney this morning, we stopped and drove into this beautiful reserve. It was incredibly quiet with only our car parked here. It was almost a drive-by for us, which was lovely. After spotting the little hide, it was a careful retrieval, made a little easier because there was almost no wind today. Name added to the log sheet, and then carefully returned once again. Thanks Wilbert67Domsky

I'm certainly readily getting the hang of these types of caches- my epic experience so far was one super high up in a tree in Auckland. Anyway, made fairly light work of this one with the appropriate tool on board. TFTC!

What is this squid doing on dry land? Well I caught it anyway. TFTC Wilbert67

Came back to catch this one with the longest rod (made by [cache track](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=47e21f90-4a8e-44ca-97c5-64f3ac5f955f)) on the shortest day of the year.
Many thanks for the cache Wilbert67

An unclaimed find sitting for a week is unheard of but that’s what faced us today as we headed out to attempt this cache. It took me back many years when published caches sat for weeks before the hounds got to them.
Hoojar and I soon spot the cache and after a quick retrieval the blank log was signed.
Thank Wil
TFTC
