A trip over the dittecch and I'm in the land of the big white cloud. Yep, Made it to Christchurch and onto Dunedin for a week of caching. DAY Four, (25/10). Today we migrate south to the predicted weather of rain cold and snow, really its October. Anyways it is the 5 hour straight drive today, Opps caching time and butterflies along the way means it will be a 12 hour drive. Have the usual crowd in the car and again the usual laughs and jokes. The caches on the way down were all signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the placements. I will say there is some very pretty countryside on the way south.

Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. TFTC BigglesNZ

25-Oct-24
Heading south to Dunedin for the Mega weekend and stopping for a few caches along the way, combined with a leg stretch or two.Loving the beautiful green landscape and the mountains that still have snow on them. Thanks, BigglesNZ, for the good hide and hint.

24-Oct-24
Finally the time has come - The GeoToroa Dunedin Mega!JustLookingOO has arrived in Christchurch from Wellington and we are driving down together, hunting down some multis on the way. This was our first one. Information was easily gathered, and cache was a quick find once we realised we were on the wrong side of the tracks initially. Thanks for setting this one up.

23-Oct-24
+Mum and sister Wendy are heading South for the GeoToroa Mega After completing the Adventure and final they backtracked to do this multi. Trying to rush it they did make a small mistake but with some phone assistance that was sorted out and off to the final they went. The hint was obscured from view initially, so it did take some luck to find the cache (always nice to see where Layla's offspring ends up Very Happy) Needless to say this was the ONLY multi of the trip. lol. Thanks for the smiley Smile

23-Oct-24

I had solved this one previously so a quick park and grab on our way past today. A very interesting feature and great place for a cache, I really enjoyed finding it. Great to get a multi out of town to fill another multi dot day. Thanks!

15-Feb-24
Muggle-hubby and I had been sightseeing at Methven and Rakaia Gorge. I had found a couple of oldies on the way and we're now on our way back to our Airbnb. Of course I needed a slight detour here because we were travelling through, and thankfully Muggle-hubby was happy enough to stop. I grabbed the information that I needed and continued wandering around to get Ad Lab waiting's.As I made my way to GZ, I was unsure if I had the right coordinates, as the area didn't seem to match the hint, so I stopped and re-checked what I had. It looked okay, so I continued walking and that's when I saw what the hint was talking about. After that, it was a quick and easy find. Thanks, BigglesNZ, for the cache and introducing me to Dunsandel.

13-Feb-24

Parking was wonderful. It made finding this cache really enjoyable. I had solved this multi at an event at the beginning of spring . It's now coming to the end of spring and I have finally found it. I wouldn't have had such an interesting trip without your geocache. Thanks so much for hiding and maintaining this cache.

25-Oct-23
While I'm here in Dunsandel I might as well sign off this multi even though I don't need them any more.Cheers for the cache, BigglesNZ.

#23028. It still feels a bit naughty finding a multi on any-old-day even though we both completed our 366 day multi-calendar a few weeks back. We saw four other cachers while gathering the info (a veritable pre-event event). I drove to GZ but found there was no parking close by, so dropped off Troodles and went back across SH1 where I found a park round the corner from event. By the time I walked back over SH1 Troodles had found the cache. I think this is the southern-most BigglesNZ cache we have found. TFTC.

02-Sep-23
Truth to tell I've not been on Dunsandal side roads (always a drive through) so it was good to have a multi here.

02-Sep-23
We quickly collected the numbers with Beeba and Pako and then continued on to the final which M found with an excellent hint.

02-Sep-23
Gathered the required information while completing the first stage of the AL, and made the final find after the event today. Thanks for the cache.

02-Sep-23
We arrived in Dunsandel purposely early for the event so we could do this multi and make a start on the ad lab before the event. There was already some here, who turned out to be a cacher from Rakaia, then ridders arrived.
Worked out the final, which looked conveniently located Razz.
Just as we were about to leave, snugpup and lytteltonwitch drove up, everyone thinking along the same lines!
As I approached GZ, I wondered where the cache could be hidden, then spotted something which was obscured by some bushes. Aaah! Cache was quickly located, took longer to re-hide. Nice wee reserve and I liked the interesting history info panel. TFTC.

2wombles and I were on the way back from the other sentry multi and had a crack at this one as well. A good find.... nothing to see here, just 2 grown men excited in the bushes....

Found using a Trackme NZ supplied Garmin Montana 750i GPS inReach, connected with Trackme Pro+ to the iridium network for tracking and 2 way communications, 100% coverage around the world .

Needing a multicache find to continue in my quest to find 365 multicaches I had to drive down to Dunsandel to find thuis my closest. The data was quickly found and the cache was found as I progressed through visiting the waypoints of the Dunsandel Walk Adventure Lab. Interesting in that I seemed to following another North Cantabrian geocacher today. Thanks for the cache BiggleNZ.

Third to find with ivss_xx.

I don’t think I’ve ever cached in this area. So we decided to incorporate the new publications into our Eclipse plan

Always enjoy running into other dodgy-looking people in parking lots staring at their phones!

Saw the publications so decided to come here, although I already noticed KM's note pop up by the time we were barely starting out from Chch.

There was no way to beat KM, as it turned out. As he could just take a leisurely stroll to get the FTF.

A very fresh and new looking wee park here. And an interesting discovery at final GZ.

Kia ora! ???? Paldies! ????
Thanks for the cache, BigglesNZ!

A nice day for a wander around Dunsandel. Me&Pedro obviously thought the same as we kept bumping into them at various times.
No problem working out the final and the cache was a quick find. TFTC.

A lovely sunny morning what better to do than go for a drive, find a couple of caches and meet some fellow cachers with the same idea. TFTC

A couple new caches in Dunsandel. I figured given kiwimoose lives nearby (as in a literal stones throw from this wee park) I'd have no chance of a ftf...but it was a nice morning and i had a bit of spare time, so i headed out. A lovely wee park with some nice history and a funky final gz. Thanks.

28-May-23
A fun cache to try and not too hard so a stress free afternoon. Loved the final hide and that went with a fun afternoon in Dunsandel. Had more than one offers of help from the locals, showing this is a friendly village. Thank you Biggles!! (where is Algie?) A fav from us.

28-May-23
A couple new published caches, means another couple that will go towards the FDF challenge.

Todays a multi dot-day for me, so this worked out quite well. On arrival, I had no issues finding the information, and then went off to get a couple of the AdLab waypoints before finishing this off. Neat final, I hadn't noticed it before.

TFTC BigglesNZ, the cache was found in good order Very Happy Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 3 today, making this find #4076

What, new caches nearby? 200m away? No way! Yes way! A quick get up and wander, thinking how much time I had up my sleeve from the CHCH crew. A short stop to get the numbers then figured out where the final was (TBH, the hint was more than enough to know where it was). I remember the old hall here, voted in it a few times and the library on the side was nice - now it's a useful spot for fire brigade practice Smile A short stroll to the final while doing the AdLab and there it was - cheers for the {FTF}!
