*Found on the 4 Nov 2024 @ 2:30pm.**Cache find # 16020.* I had now finished with the Gannawarra LGA and into Swan Hill LGA, Buloke will come later to get my minimum 20 finds in each one.Still on my way to the letterbox cache but I was also passing by this one which was actually on my to do list as I have been trying to find all the TDOC23 caches.I headed over to GZ and found the 2 containers as per instructions but the only thing in one of the containers was a note saying that the part was missing and also a code, I was then able to sign the log, its a shame that it isnt as I intended to be.**Thanks to Hercs&pinky for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
Sir_Spectre and I went for a long weekend over to Victoria, we hosted some events and CITO's and was really impressed by all the people that made the effort to join us. Any caches that needed attention got it, with many log books being replaced or extras sheets added as needed. Thanks to all who placed and maintained caches for us to find
I came and found the cache. At this point i realized it was a field puzzle. It also turns out i have fat fingers, unlocked it on the 3rd go. My fingers currently are swollen, so literally fat fingers. fav pointFound with Mogni. The plan this October Long Weekend was to head over to Victoria and host 3 CITO's plus host my first geocaching event, also increase my finds to 20 in at least 5 victorian LGA's. Given that we were caching in the country alot of km's were travelled. The weather was raining on and off all saturday including the night time but by luck all 3 events that day were dry. The first CITO ( and the cache of the trip ) was in Kaniva at the wetlands, the next in CITO was in Dimboola at one of the rest areas, and placing a future challenage cache then slowly making our way to wycheproof canavan park which was our accomadation for the weekend and then up to Mount Wycheproof ( the smallest registered mountain in Australia - at 43metres tall ) for my coffee and sunset event. Sunday started off with a early 630 am CITO in the Mount Wycheproof wetlands reserve ( sorry i did forget about daylight savings when i made the time for the event but it was a dawn and light still ). Now off to swan hill ( which is my least favorite LGA to cache in ) and then a few more LGA's and back to the tent in the dark well past dinner. Then it was slowly heading home via the silo arts works along the way and walpuep and then over the border to pinaroo and home. We went through over a milk crate of spare containers and got 2 and 1/4 garage bags of cans and bottles. Any caches that were found broken/cracked/etc were replaced and any full log books were replaced.
Wow we were on this motorbike track earlier & we didnt know it was one & got a fright when 6 loud motorbikes came flying down the track! We parked where suggested & walked in. Windy as hell still. TFTC!
After finding view finder missing a PAF was neededSigned log and replacedTFTC
Unfortunately, as people have stated before, the second container was empty, or is it the first? Good luck getting it open without any clues.
What a great cache, something completely new to us. Mrs SKI had one of these devices as a child and was quickly able to answer the required questions. Mr SKI understood the given clue so the lock was soon open. We really enjoyed this cache. A favourite from us.We have had a few weeks of solid caching since leaving home so it was time to have a quieter day where we caught up on some washing and recharged many of our things. We couldn't resist heading out in the area where we are staying for a few however to look for a few caches. There were a mixture of multis and trads some with good containers and a few challengesThank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Hercs&pinky.**SKI Pair****
What a dogs breakfast this one was, took nearly 20 minutes to finally come up with the correct sequenceTFTC

Moving today from Mildura to Swan Hill. We set up camp then headed out to grab a couple of nearby smilies.TFTC Hercs&pinky [^]
My goodness this cache had already earned a favorite point on reading the hint before even starting. Little did we fully understand its meaning until reaching GZ. Then Mr Riddell dragged part one back to the car to work on with Mrs Riddell in the comfort of the air conditioning.Whilst we collected the information there were at least 3 ways to interpret it. So Mr Riddell returned to GZ armed with info to sort out part 2.Before you know it, the log was signed and sealed and delivered back like a Christmas present under the Christmas Tree. Thanks to Hercs&Pinky
Found by Mary and David at 15:40. So sad to learn of Jeff's passing from Bazz Gilmour at QOGM. RIP. Nurse M has always said "Do not cry because he has gone, but smile because he has been!". We will miss him so much, but have memories of him at the Wang Mega, so proud of his gadget caches. This one was unique among our finds, as we haven't come across this method of determining the numbers for a code before. Having to rearrange the questions added another level of difficulty for us and we had to use a PAF when we doubted our answers. Definitelt gets a FP from us! Our thanks to Hercs&pinky.
Travelling to the Yorke Peninsula with Team Crackers. We will be meeting up with a few of our caching buddies in Gawler on Sunday before hitting the Yorke as a group.TC and I made a detour via Swan Hill and Merbein to pick up a couple of TDOC23 caches. We both wanted to do the HercsandPinky TDOC23 cache as we already miss Hercs from the game and feel for Pinky's loss. We are so saddened. Thanks HercsandPinky for your very significant contribution to our enjoyment of geocaching.
I'm traveling across to South Australia with micaparamedic to try our luck at a few of the series over there .We are also stopping for caches neither of us had found along the way. We are both enjoying the TDOC series and had decided to go the longer way to pick up this one and the one in Mildura. We really enjoyed this one and it's twist in the tale , it bought a smile to our faces and as we have always said if a chance make you smile it deserves a favourite point so we are leaving one behind. Thanks Hercs&pinky for placing this for our enjoyment.
Top top idea and top top view. Somehow I managed to see what was needed. It's not often I will cache in such wet weather but I'm on a mission and who knows when I can return when home base is far out EAST! It's wet wet wet but quite happy to stop for fun themed caches! After a mammoth marathon multi mission into SA with a few geobuddies I'm making the journey home solo. Also have a personal project that means finding 20 caches in each LGA...thats something. TFTC and the FUn. Fave for a top idea!
Well my trip up to QOGM started a couple of weeks ago and I took the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there. So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so after heading west and making it to Longreach time for a break from the travelling. So after a couple big days out to Stonehenge, Isisford and Ilfracombe, The Tritonz and Roaming Howie finally joined me and we did the puzzle trail. Then a fun first muster day to Muttaburra and back then a great tea event and a few more caches.A trip to Stonehenge and back again for them. The second muster day and boy what a busy day as there was a lot going on in the car with everything we had to do.Collect trads, look at photos, find some forks and then some property numbers as well. The Mexicans as we were called teamed up with a couple of other cars The Morris and Pool Pool to have a lot of fun over the radio.Well all the caches have been found and after another great dinner event QOGM has officially finished. This was my first QOGM and I had a great time, but all good things must come to end and today I must start heading towards home but Im also taking the very long way around back to Victoria. So this was state # 4 for me on this trip.Roaming Howie is joined me on part of the Strzelecki track and left me at Camerons Corner.I continued on down the track and and eventually reached the black stuff again and stayed at Copley then Wentworth. The question for the day is will I reach Melbourne or make my holiday last one more night. So after spending too much time in Mildura, coming via Euston to here the decision was made for me.Chasing a few TDOC caches up north and this is the next one.I need to spend some time in Swan Hill as I have heard that there is a lot of good caches here.I have not seen on of these for years and it was great fun working out the code to get to the log. Thanks Hercs&Pinky
Day 27. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my by way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip. After a very late night stop just outside of Swan Hill it was off to Longwood today for a few days of camping with friends before finally returning home. A few key stops though along the way in Swan Hill, Echuca and Shepparton.I had this cache on my to do list from the beginning. When there was a chance I was coming home along the SA/NSW border I knew I could make a stop through Swan Hill. Sadly the news of hercs passing filtered through QOGM and this visit became a must do. I had only been communicating with Jeff a month earlier as part of his Cachemas contribution. RIPI arrived at GZ and located a few items that would be necessary for accessing the logbook. I sat quietly here to enjoy the experience. Oh wow!!! I have not seen one of these in years, perhaps a decade or more. I instantly knew how to use it as most people would.I gathered some information however it didnt provide the access I needed. I hadnt read the cache page and hints properly and hence of course it wasnt going to open. After reading all the information to hand, I soon had access to the log and was adding my name to the list. Thanks Hercs&pinky for adding this cache to the Cachemas collection for us all to enjoy. Jeff you will be sadly missed. Thanks for all your contributions to the community and my deepest condolences to your family.----------------------------------------------------------
This was a great idea for a cache. I had trouble with ants running up my legs while I was trying to get the answers for this one. In the end I resorted to PAF. Definitely a favourite from me
Day 2 of Chook and OzHockeyChick's "QOGM-consolation" roadtrip, targeting caches in three states over four days of fun, friendship, laughter and adventure.OMG we remember these! What great fun to revisit our childhood!A definite favourite point from us.TFTC Hercs&Pinky.
With a huge portion of the Victorian caching community enjoying their pilgrimage north to Longreach, chook(nchunk) and I decided to plan our own little mini-adventure, targetting adlabs, solved puzzles, faves, TDOCs and anything else that piques our interest along the way. Day Two: Jerilderie, Swan Hill, Mildura, Merbein. We love love loved this one. I still have one of these, in the toybox from when my sons were young. Now waiting for some grandchildren to enjoy.A definite favourite point heading your way. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Hercs&pinky ~~
Another great cache from Hercs&Pinky. A bit of fun was had here and I quickly gained access to the cache thanks to the hint TFTC
On our way out of town this morning, we diverted to find this cache. What a terrific field puzzle, it has been a while since we have seen these! We had the required information but we were not having much luck….lots of head scratching and some SOS but we actually read the hint and it all made sense. Eureka! What a ripper. A definite favourite from us. We can’t wait to return to the area for more of your caches.
Thanks for placing the cache Hercs&pinky. Happy Cachemas.
Thanks for placing the cache Hercs&pinky. Happy Cachemas.
Found as I was driving past the area, I made a detour especially to find this one. It was worth it, an interesting way to obtain the numbers required to open the padlock. I haven't seen one of those gadgets for years but enjoyed working out the answers. TFTC
Found today. Didn’t realise that we did one related to this one in Halls Gap a couple of days ago. Definitely a tricky one. Thank you for the presents in there. Amazing
You little ripper. A First To Find for us today. The find was quite easy but it took us way way way too long to work out the combination to get into this big cache. But it was worth it in the end to get a FTF. Inside this cache is a heap of swaps for the kids to find. Thanks H & P for putting another cache out on this road for us to find. An what a view of the green paddocks it is. Thanks again and Cheers. Great idea and great work in putting it together. Giving this one a fav.
