Thanks for all the fun that we are having Out on the Trail today. These forest trails are really beautiful to walk through and it is a few days since weve had a good walk so we are making up for it today. Some lovely undulating hills. Thanks THE GREEN GECKOS Domsky
After a very enjoyable, but exhausting , nine days of GCLogan events, I had 2 full days left before flying back to NZ. To maximise the value of these 2 days, a plan was hatched with GG1 and M65 to target some special caches on the Northside that would help me with possibly two further D/T loop completions. Their help was invaluable, with local knowledge ensuring the best route was taken to fit in as many high quality caches as possible today. Day two today and a little bit later start, but we still didn't stop till well after dark..... With my hosts well prepared for any tott we might need today, even though it was pretty high, was not too much trouble, even for an old guy, to access this one and sign the log. TFTC
We all had a turn at carrying the bazooka and then all had a turn at fondling/handling/caressing it into action. The bazooka is the nickname we have given to TeamARFs fishing pole because it was the only thing capable of launching the (potential) unexploded ordinance in the area.Actually it was nicknamed the bazooka because when you carry it on your shoulder, you are going to blow your back out. Not only that, actual bazookas are lighter. Ive played enough Call of Duty to know how easy it is to run, climb, duck and weave with a bazooka on your back, but put this fishing pole on your shoulder and you might as well be a busted orc. This was my first crack at the pole and it definitely felt nice and firm in my hands. I started trembling just holding it. There could have been an earthquake and I wouldnt have noticed because I was shaking so much. Rigid! It took a while but I was able to get it up and down without braking a branch. tftc
Another hike with the bazooka pole to collect this bunch. Rather steep in places so a few slides. The boys engaged in lots of pole envy and us girls got the chance to play as well! Cheers for some topNotch caches
A short little back track to get on the right path and we were storming towards the finish line now that the ground was relatively flat. The eagle eyes were out again and this was another cache swiftly spotted and retrieved. Log signed, cache returned it was time to hit the trail once more for the final two and the up hill section we knew was coming.
No gratification of desires nor bison spotted at this stop. However encouraging the team to overcome their fear of large poles was a highlight for me. The fishing pole was passed through the many hands of my companions. Shocked at first, they quickly become accustomed handling the large pole, pulling the segments so they connect and hold, and keeping it erect. Each tentative hand hold bought back memories of the game 'truth and dare' from teenager days. Not having too much luck with the rigidity of tree holds for the cache. Two branches gave up their hold on the tree and alternative spots were found. All good now with this cache, thanks GreenGecko1 for another word association lesson.

A day off means a day trip to Brisbane to go caching with Peppa. A pile up on the Bruce hwy has changed our original plans and north Brisbane has become our new target area.No wisents spotted on our walk today but the cache was quickly spotted from the track. Thanks for the cache GreenGecko1Find #6086
A lovely day out with Kolour today, accompanied by the geopup. We had quite a few caches on our radar, this one was spotted quite quickly. After getting the cache to the ground, the log was signed and the cache returned to it's home. Thanks GreenGecko1 for the cache.
Willis007 and I decided to spend the day caching in this area. It didnt take too long to see the cache and Willis007 managed to retrieve the cache even though her pole is broken - it helped being a nice straight eucalyptus. Tftc
Im enjoying my walk around this area and geocaching today. Thanks for the cache. Cheers
A New Year brings resolutions and some new goals. My current goal is to get my hiking fitness in order for an upcoming 3 day hike over Australia's highest dozen mountains in early February. This morning, I decided that a few geocaches along some selected Camp Mountains fire trails would help the days step count and put some altitude into the legs. Are all the tree fishing caches get higher and higher in SEQ? I was aware of this trend when I bought my new pole, after breaking the last one right in the middle during a retrieval. So, I wasn't worried about 10 to 11 m. I was a little surprised to find this one a lot lower than that. Then I read some logs and see what has happened. However, I couldn't spot a suitable higher spot, so I put it back where found. Now, about this hill.... Many thanks GreenGecko1Pete#7,567
M was feeling less than 100% so I left him at home while I came out to grab a few of the high D/T caches here. I headed up the wrong track at first while heading to this one but quickly detoured through the open scrub until I ended up on the correct track and at this cache. It was a quick retrieval and return here. Thanks for find #5212TNLN
Never knew here trails existed. This was tricky to get down with the TOTT at full length. Im dropped on the way down and my TOTT split so I wasnt able to put it back as high. Its about 6mtrs up now and needs to be 10-11 so next finder maybe pop it back at the must longer part of the tree next trunk next door another 4mtrs up, Its tucked away safely for now. TFTC, found with mugglemum10.
Having just found wankle in this reserve we decided to find just one more. The cache was spotted on approach and that was the only easy part about this cache. Boy it took some jiggling to get that snug loop along the branch but we did it. Getting it back in place seemed much easier to do. Thank you.
On a lovely spring morning in South east Queensland, headed out with a few goals in mind. I had a few more Wherigos to reach a new level in project GC and a few caches towards my third DT loop. My geowagon is out of service still so I had to take the van. Found a safe place to park and off I went.It wasnt long before I arrived at Ground zero and located the cache. After securing the prize I made my mark and returned the cache to its lace of rest. Its now time to head to the next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found by fellow cachers.CheersS
A fallen branch resting on the same branch as the cache made this too much of a challenge for us to retrieve with our bodgied extensions on our pole. We will have to return with reinforcements.
TFTC smile 17168 out and about on a lovely day Signed and replaced the grey matter is still working thats good I hope, forgot to log this one the other week better late then never Thank you THE GREEN GECKOS for placing this cache for our enjoyment
I had the forenoon free before heading to the Sunshine Coast Airport to pick up a friend, and heard grannysmith1947 wanted to do this trail, so I agreed to accompany her. With some miscommunication, we started at the top instead of the bottom entry at Wessling Close, which resulted in collecting the caches taking much, much longer than it should have. Our second cache today and another neck stretcher which we took our time with for a good result.Thank you, THE GREEN GECKOS, for this good hide, the hardest part was remembering not to leave the ToT behind
It is off to Brisbane I go for the day to do some geocaching. It is a Saturday and I need a few geocaches to finish off a challenge cache, Busy Saturday Challenge Mystery Cache, GCA3VW8. I am also planning to finish a couple of other challenge caches as well. The Garden Variety Calendar Challenge Mystery Cache, GC9BY7R.Extreme Tree Fisher Challenge Mystery Cache, GC9BY7WThe AuNZmer Challenge Mystery Cache, GCA8HKROctober Challenge - Up the hill Mystery Cache, GC9YTBZThe Personal Challenge of Bristracker Mystery Cache, GC89FKXMM to MMX Challenge Mystery Cache, GC9XR9XAn early morning walk through the bush to start the day. A quick find here and some extensions added to my fishing pole to reach the cache. The log was soon signed and returned. Thanks for the cache.
Down in SEQ for a few days to celebrate the life of a caching ambassador and a great friend Karicka. It’s more than likely he’d found this one.
Before today’s service and with assistance of greencordial I made a plan to attempt to find the 4 DT’s I need to complete loop 13.
This was my main target of series so I set off with pole and ladder. After easily grabbing this one I just couldn’t leave the rest with them being so close by. No problems other than dropping my pen on the way up the hill but I found it on the way back. The ladder ended up just tagging along with the 10m pole or free climbing sufficient.
It was nice to sign below Karicka for most. He did well to get to these. Thanks GreenGecko1 for adding to my day.

Day 3 of MegaGOM boating and tree fishing expedition with **bella at waggy**, **Baktrak**, **Purplepeopleater** and an anonymous local.
After 2 days on the water, it was time to remain on terra firma. But we still caught some fish, and for some, it was a big slog up a steep hill. Towards the end of the day, it was a mad dash mopping up around the airport and still managing to get through security on time.
Enjoyed all the caches and the company was reasonable as well.
Lugged a huge ladder around this group of caches. Was it necessary???

On a quick trip North with a few Sydney mates and a colourful local for a few days on the water, in the mud and up the hills, running around grabbing some beaut caches. Much joint puzzle-solving and planning paid off. On day 3, we left the water and mud behind in favour of tall trees, steep hills and a final race around the streets near the airport.
We signed with the space-saving catch-all, “megagom”, in memory of previous exploits.
Thanks Green Geckos.

Some plans were hatched with a local and some Sydney Siders for a 3 day quick caching trip which involved get the boat out, yaks, mud, poles, ladders, trees etc. Plenty of solving was done and routes plotted. The boat, the MV Grumpy lived up to its name with some cantankerous displays and the need for running repairs on serval occasions so our timetable had to be amended on more than one occasion.
Day 3 was planned to be a land day well with a few trees as well. More good use of the pole here and lucky we have some tall cachers with us.
A number of us have thought we have previously been the victims of caching identify theft by that mysterious mob call the GOM’s. As a result and given it felt like a bit if a mega the logs were signed MegaGOM. TFTC

Together with Crash2079, Baktrak, bella at waggy and a notorious QLDer this was day 3 of the MegaGOM's special edition Brisbane adventure.
Sans the boat today, there were far less mishaps other than losing a certain member of the party for some time.
Caches all found and in good condition.

Out for some of the new caches in the area.
A walk that was long enough for me in my current state.
Brought a couple of TOTTs just to have a back-up plan.
Quick find here, than you

Coffee and caching with Karicka on a sunny winter afternoon. I needed to step up a couple of steps to reach. Thanks for the cache THE GREEN GECKOS
This was my first geocache find whilst in the area, and although I was trying to prioritise the newly published [Leo Challenge](https://coord.info/GCACDJN), I was also conscious that I may not be returning the same way as passing beside this geocache. I searched upwards just as the day's sun began to lighten the area, and within a few minutes, I had glared at something that may fit the criteria of the geocache. A very tough one to spot, and so I then used my TOTT to investigate the item, and bring down to the ground. As it turned out, it was indeed the geocache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. The tiny loop really doesn’t help extraction and placement, but I can understand that it then aligns with the geocache's difficulty. I was able to just utilise with my 10 m fishing TOTT. Thanks [THE GREEN GECKOS](https://coord.info/PR1Q82V) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
----------
Today, with an early morning start, I visited Clear Mountain / Cashmere area to walk around Wessling Close's adjacent bushland whilst chasing a newly published geocache. It was then a visit to Warner Lakes parkrun to then join the family for Saturday morning activities.
Later in the morning, it was then a visit to Mount Gravatt to catch up with a friend and call past a couple of nemeses geocaches, and the afternoon was then utilised in seeing the World Press Photo Exhibition at Brisbane Powerhouse in New Farm.

There were some dramas at this cache. I arrived at GZ and spotted the cache easily enough however my TOTT was not quite long enough. I decided to walk back to the car to get some more equipment that would help me retrieve this cache. As I was walking back, some forestry rangers asked me what I was doing as I should not have been there. Apparently they are carrying out some controlled burning and no one is allowed in the reserve. I may have to come back and try again if the cache is not damaged during the burn.
Out with T-Tech for a few hours for some tree fishing.
First we took the wander off Wessling Close. With the wherigo done we meandered our way to GZ for this one next. We searched in several trees until I spied the container on the ground! Putting it back was tricky as it was just about at the end of the limit of my 10m TOTT. TFTC, THE GREEN GECKOS.

Out this avo with IolantheK collecting a few tree fishing caches [^]
Every cache took us a while to spy the container at the final; much craning of ones neck and squinting into the sky
Although with this one IolantheK spotted it on the ground After signing it was again set about, hopefully on the same peg it came from [^]

Out with Dora the Explorer! finding a few caches. After finding a nearby cache, we came to this one. Dora managed to break her fishing pole attempting to retrieve this one, so, with the spare hook already attached to my new fishing pole, It was deployed again. Retrieval was no problem. After signing the log, the cache was returned to where we found it easily. I am liking my fishing pole {:)} TFTC
Today, I embarked on an exciting geocaching adventure, venturing into the wilderness in search of the Tree Fishing Adventure cache. It was a thrilling experience, combining the joy of geocaching with the unique technique of tree fishing.
Upon arriving at the coordinates, I followed the cache description. Reading through the instructions, I geared up my fishing rod with the hook, ready to tackle the challenge.
I scouted the area and quickly spotted the designated tree. Taking my position, I cast the fishing rod towards the branches, carefully aiming to hook the cache container. After a few attempts, my persistence paid off, and I successfully caught hold of the cache.
Reeling it in, I felt a rush of excitement as I opened the container. The logbook awaited, filled with signatures of previous adventurers who had conquered the tree fishing challenge. I added my name, and date, to commemorate my own journey.
With great care, I returned the cache container to its original hiding spot. I took a moment to appreciate the beauty of nature surrounding me, grateful for this opportunity to immerse myself in the great outdoors.
I would like to express my gratitude to the cache owner, for creating such an engaging and memorable geocaching experience. The Tree Fishing Adventure cache added a unique twist that made this find truly extraordinary.
Thank you for hiding this cache and providing the opportunity to challenge my geocaching skills in a whole new way. I look forward to more adventures and intriguing caches in the future.
Happy geocaching,
This morning it was a nice little walk around the new area of recent cache placements. I was joined with Brislions and The green geckos. The walk was to grab a new FTF but also to grab some newer already found caches.
The weather was a little drizzly but that did not dampen the spirits of anyone. I can see a few more caches coming out in this area I’m sure. A nice walking area with some nice cache placements, and a little tricky in some spots. While I managed to get a find on all three, I was happy to be in and out within the hour. Thanks to the CO’s for the placements in this area. I look forward to seeing more around here.

Yippee!! **FTF** I met up with Muggle65 then headed to GZ. I hooked the cache and found an empty log.
Signed for both of us.
It took awhile to replace and then headed off to work.
Thank you to The Green Geckos for placing and maintaining the cache for my enjoyment.

An early morning call from Brislions served as my alarm this morning. So with a good dose of pillow patch and morning breath, I met BL at the parking area. He was standing waiting at the gate with his fishing pole in hand. I left mine in the car and we started down the track. Without coffee I was a supportive passenger at GZ. Retrieval and replacement was challenging without my longer pole. We taped an extension onto BL's pole which made it very unstable. Eventually the log was signed and we returned to our nice warm vehicles with an {*FTF*} under our belts. That was fun TGG.
