Nice puzzle! At GZ, we put our TOTT up high and were grateful that it did manage to make the distance. Carefully retrieved and replaced, our name is now in the log. This is a beautiful forest walk today. Thanks Muggle65Domsky
After a very enjoyable, but exhausting , nine days of GCLogan events, I had 2 full days left before flying back to NZ. To maximise the value of these 2 days, a plan was hatched with GG1 and M65 to target some special caches on the Northside that would help me with possibly two further D/T loop completions. Their help was invaluable, with local knowledge ensuring the best route was taken to fit in as many high quality caches as possible today. Day two today and a little bit later start, but we still didn't stop till well after dark..... With my hosts well prepared for any tott we might need today, it was not too much trouble, even for an old guy, to access this one and sign the log. It was pretty high and not that easy to spot though. Loving the camo'd containers on this trail, so another FP due here. TFTC
There was a bit of talk about no trails appearing on the trails map in the area. Our whole walk had been planned by satellite image which was close to the actual trails, but not quite. For this hide we decided to follow the trail we were on and then head back up on hopefully another trail that must be there. What we didnt see is that we could have bush-bashed for 20 metres to save us a bit of time as the trails were close to each other as a shortcut. This made me reflect back on a time when I was thinking with my downstairs brain over a girl I liked back in high school. She unintentionally bought the international game of Snakes and Ladders into rebuke by planning her own shortcuts up snakes and getting off ladders when it suited her. What I learnt from that is that there are always shortcuts even when you cant seen them or the rules of life dont allow it. My downstairs brain didnt fire off any synapses that night. tftc
Another hike with the bazooka pole to collect this bunch. Rather steep in places so a few slides. The boys engaged in lots of pole envy and us girls got the chance to play as well! Cheers for some topNotch caches
It was here I realised I had made a boo boo. Couldnt work out why we were all stopping. Thought perhaps it was someone else needing a rest, but then the pole came out! It would seem I only half applied the offset!! Good thing I am with people more on the ball otherwise Id be staring at another tree for 30 mins with no joy. . However, I will say that my half done coords did look good .
If nothing else comes from today, at least I'm learning new words which I'll forget later on this evening after my first glass of red problem solver. I'll let others go through the nuances of imperturbable self-possession, poise, or assurance. My sermon focuses on search engine recommendations post looking up words starting with W. There are the following suggestions and I'm conveniently leaving out the risque ones:- a partitioned blue and white fluffy toilet seat cover presumably to completely seal the rump no matter what size. Not very practical with kids / grandkids in the house or old men with enlarged prostates- an over the shoulder boulder holder designed to be hung only from the ladies left shoulder- prawn de-sheller that doesn't leave any mess!!- skimpy pink dress on an attractive young lady- cylindrical cage used to cook vegetables on the BBQAll very useful items if you have plenty of unused drawer space or present ideas for this year's secret santa. A day off means a day trip to Brisbane to go caching with Peppa. A pile up on the Bruce hwy has changed our original plans and north Brisbane has become our new target area.I e never been to Wantage but it sounds like an interesting spot, maybe next time Im in England .This one blended in well, Peppa was the one to spot it first. Thanks for the cache Muggle65Find #6087
Continuing on my hike through this area, this was my next cache on the list. This took me a while to find as the sun was in my eyes for the most part. When it was spotted the cache was retrieved and log signed.TFTC.
A lovely day out with Kolour today, accompanied by the geopup. We had quite a few caches on our radar. We spotted this one quite quickly but my fishing pole which was already partly injured and had been behaving quite well on a busy tree fishing day, decided it was time to misbehave! Eventually the cache was bought to the ground, the log was signed and the cache returned to it's home. I was holding my breath the whole time ... not sure the badly injured fishing pole was going to be able to get the job done! Thankfully we got there. Thanks Muggle65 for the cache.
Willis007 and I decided to spend the day caching in this area. It took a few minutes to see the cache and then we had trouble with Willis007s broken fishing pole which kept collapsing. We almost gave up but with one more try, Willis007 managed to get it down. Logbook signed and then we had to get it back, which was luckily easier than getting it down. Tftc
A New Year brings resolutions and some new goals. My current goal is to get my hiking fitness in order for an upcoming 3 day hike over Australia's highest dozen mountains in early February. This morning, I decided that a few geocaches along some selected Camp Mountains fire trails would help the days step count and put some altitude into the legs. The hills are about to start in earnest. Bloody glarey today. This one was hard to spot. No problems retrieving. Many thanks Muggle65Pete#7,568
I had previously visited this location on 12/08/2023, and I was short on time, and ultimately logged a DNF as my 10-15 minutes of searching upwards had failed me that day. I would like to blame my manual mathematics for adding the offset, of which I think I had made a mistake with one of the decimal tenths, however, it only narrowed down on one of the two trees that I was searching anyway.Despite subsequent visitors finding this cache with ease, I managed to convince [chamad](https://coord.info/PRPP06G) and [MeAndDe](https://coord.info/PR9CNGM) to make the slight detour with me in order to point this cache out. They positioned themselves a little away from the tree, and I soon had the cache in sight (perhaps this was one of my issues). From there, I said farewell as the two continued their walk to the main parking waypoint "downhill", and I still had another cache to find nearby. The cache was retrieved successfully, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [Muggle65](https://coord.info/PR10G2R0) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today turned out to be quite an epic day of adventures, which was in contrast to my usual Monday work day with thanks to flexible work!It was an early morning start meeting [chamad](https://coord.info/PRPP06G) at Mount Samson, and we walked in the scrubland finding a few high tree fishing geocaches. Following that, the technical tree climb [I See Better From a Distance](https://coord.info/GC6BNVZ) was conquered with a small group. It was then a northern drive to scope [Licorice Challenge](https://coord.info/GCA9J9Y), and despite having heard about its sketchy tree climb aka tough Terrain rating, it lived up to its reputation.I then closed out the day with [MeAndDe](https://coord.info/PR9CNGM) to walk the mud flats of Sandstone Point finding a few Little Birds. I had planned to kayak these, but this appeared to be a reasonable alternative. We detoured past Beachmere to complete the [Beachmere - worth a visit!](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/1920324e-f45b-4471-9c63-83e9302f835a) Adventure Lab, and made one last swing past its bonus cache.
M was feeling less than 100% so I left him at home while I came out to grab a few of the high D/T caches here. I was concerned about the comment regarding an extension for my pole but luckily our tott was suitable and I soon had it down, signed and returned to it's perch. Thanks for find #5213TNLN
Nice quick puzzle. Enjoyable walk with sweat sliding down my back in this muggy overcast day. Seriously had Ive got the sunnies while I use the TOTT as its blinding looking up into the white clouds. Found and replaced without issue. TFTC, found with mugglemum (shes getting some great DT combos on her first offical day with the app)
Out with IolantheK to collect a few caches in this area Well to be honest I saw this cache as the final one of the 5th D/T Grid IolantheK did the fishing and signing Cache in good conditionTFTC Muggle65
T-Tech wanted to take a walk to grab this cache as it completes his 5th loop of the D/T grid It's familiar territory and we had no trouble reaching GZ and making the find. My 10m TOTT made short work of the grab. TFTC, Muggle65.
Last Sunday I went for a walk to grab a couple of caches in this area. While I am trying to keep up my own personal challenges, I went to this area for a challenge cache which I got. There were a few other caches but I did not have the right tools for the caches. Today armed with the right tools I headed over to grab these caches. This was a nice easy find and with a little extra attention to my tool I was able to keep it up and achieve hooking the ring. I signed the log and returned to cache to its hide. From here I was off to the next one on my list in the area. Thanks for the hide and the fun here.
On a lovely spring morning in South east Queensland, headed out with a few goals in mind. I had a few more Wherigos to reach a new level in project GC and a few caches towards my third DT loop. My geowagon is out of service still so I had to take the van. Found a safe place to park and off I went.It wasnt long before I arrived at Ground zero and located the cache. After securing the prize I made my mark and returned the cache to its lace of rest. Its now time to head to the next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found by fellow cachers.CheersS
Slowly but surely filling my tenth DT grid, I made plans to hike this hill to target this particular cache. We started early this morning before the day got too warm, turning right at the top of the first hill before realising we needed to be on a different track. A short cross country traverse put us on the right track and soon afterwards, we were standing staring skyward. Luckily I had positioned myself in exactly the right position to both see and retrieve the cache easily. A great cache to warm up on, we replaced where found and continued on to the next in the series. Thanks Muggle65
I had the forenoon free before heading to the Sunshine Coast Airport to pick up a friend, and heard grannysmith1947 wanted to do this trail, so I agreed to accompany her. With some miscommunication, we started at the top instead of the bottom entry at Wessling Close, which resulted in collecting the caches taking much, much longer. This was our first find after coming down via the mountain bike trail.Thank you Muggle65, this certainly was a neck stretcher, but perseverance paid off in the long run.
TFTC smile 17130 out and about on a lovely day out with geo friend had a long walk went the wrong way Thank you Muggle65 for placing this cache for our enjoyment
It is off to Brisbane I go for the day to do some geocaching. It is a Saturday and I need a few geocaches to finish off a challenge cache, Busy Saturday Challenge Mystery Cache, GCA3VW8. I am also planning to finish a couple of other challenge caches as well. The Garden Variety Calendar Challenge Mystery Cache, GC9BY7R.Extreme Tree Fisher Challenge Mystery Cache, GC9BY7WThe AuNZmer Challenge Mystery Cache, GCA8HKROctober Challenge - Up the hill Mystery Cache, GC9YTBZThe Personal Challenge of Bristracker Mystery Cache, GC89FKXMM to MMX Challenge Mystery Cache, GC9XR9XAn early morning walk through the bush to start the day. A quick find here and the log was soon signed and returned. Thanks for the cache.
Today, I met up with DoratheExplorer! at the parking coords. We took a stroll further along a familiar track to this solved puzzle. DoratheExplorer! quickly spotted the cache and deployed the tool that we had brought with us. Before long, we were adding our names to the log. Cache returned to its spot and we were on our way again. TFTC
Down in SEQ for a few days to celebrate the life of a caching ambassador and a great friend Karicka. It’s more than likely he’d found this one.
Before today’s service and with assistance of greencordial I made a plan to attempt to find the 4 DT’s I need to complete loop 13.
This was my main target of series so I set off with pole and ladder. After easily grabbing this one I just couldn’t leave the rest with them being so close by. No problems other than dropping my pen on the way up the hill but I found it on the way back. The ladder ended up just tagging along with the 10m pole or free climbing sufficient.
It was nice to sign below Karicka for most. This one I attempted to sign with mud. Thanks Muggle65 for adding to my day.

Today, I embarked on an exciting geocaching adventure, venturing into the wilderness in search of the Tree Fishing Adventure cache. It was a thrilling experience, combining the joy of geocaching with the unique technique of tree fishing.
Upon arriving at the coordinates, I followed the cache description. Reading through the instructions, I geared up my fishing rod with the hook, ready to tackle the challenge.
I scouted the area and quickly spotted the designated tree. Taking my position, I cast the fishing rod towards the branches, carefully aiming to hook the cache container. After a few attempts, my persistence paid off, and I successfully caught hold of the cache.
Reeling it in, I felt a rush of excitement as I opened the container. The logbook awaited, filled with signatures of previous adventurers who had conquered the tree fishing challenge. I added my name, and date, to commemorate my own journey.
With great care, I returned the cache container to its original hiding spot. I took a moment to appreciate the beauty of nature surrounding me, grateful for this opportunity to immerse myself in the great outdoors.
I would like to express my gratitude to the cache owner, for creating such an engaging and memorable geocaching experience. The Tree Fishing Adventure cache added a unique twist that made this find truly extraordinary.
Thank you for hiding this cache and providing the opportunity to challenge my geocaching skills in a whole new way. I look forward to more adventures and intriguing caches in the future.
Happy geocaching

Day 3 of MegaGOM boating and tree fishing expedition with **bella at waggy**, **Baktrak**, **Purplepeopleater** and an anonymous local.
After 2 days on the water, it was time to remain on terra firma. But we still caught some fish, and for some, it was a big slog up a steep hill. Towards the end of the day, it was a mad dash mopping up around the airport and still managing to get through security on time.
Enjoyed all the caches and the company was reasonable as well.
Lugged a huge ladder around this group of caches. Was it necessary???

On a quick trip North with a few Sydney mates and a colourful local for a few days on the water, in the mud and up the hills, running around grabbing some beaut caches. Much joint puzzle-solving and planning paid off. On day 3, we left the water and mud behind in favour of tall trees, steep hills and a final race around the streets near the airport.
We signed with the space-saving catch-all, “megagom”, in memory of previous exploits.
Thanks Muggle65.

Some plans were hatched with a local and some Sydney Siders for a 3 day quick caching trip which involved get the boat out, yaks, mud, poles, ladders, trees etc. Plenty of solving was done and routes plotted. The boat, the MV Grumpy lived up to its name with some cantankerous displays and the need for running repairs on serval occasions so our timetable had to be amended on more than one occasion.
Day 3 was planned to be a land day well with a few trees as well. More good use of the pole here and lucky we have some tall cachers with us.
A number of us have thought we have previously been the victims of caching identify theft by that mysterious mob call the GOM’s. As a result and given it felt like a bit if a mega the logs were signed MegaGOM. TFTC

Together with Crash2079, Baktrak, bella at waggy and a notorious QLDer this was day 3 of the MegaGOM's special edition Brisbane adventure.
Sans the boat today, there were far less mishaps other than losing a certain member of the party for some time.
Caches all found and in good condition.

Out for some of the new caches in the area.
A walk that was long enough for me in my current state.
Brought a couple of TOTTs just to have a back-up plan.
Quick find here, than you

Coffee and caching with Karicka on a sunny winter afternoon. This was very tricky to spot, retrieve and return. Thanks for the cache Muggle65
When this puzzle was first released, I was lying in bed and I performed the simple arithmetic on my phone, thus transcribing the coordinates back into the geocache. However alas, I'm not sure how I did it, but I checked the puzzle post visit, and I had messed up the south coordinates by 0.005'. As it turned out, I was still looking in the targeted tree, but my previously incorrect coordinates had me searching between trees.
I ended up spending a good 10 minutes searching in this particular tree making many loops whilst searching upwards. The sun was in a reasonable position for me to spot this prize, but alas, I had exhausted my time limit at this location, and so I decided to move on, knowing that I would likely be back in the area for other newly placed geocaches. Thanks anyway [Muggle65](https://coord.info/PR10G2R0) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
----------
Today, with an early morning start, I visited Clear Mountain / Cashmere area to walk around Wessling Close's adjacent bushland whilst chasing a newly published geocache. It was then a visit to Warner Lakes parkrun to then join the family for Saturday morning activities.
Later in the morning, it was then a visit to Mount Gravatt to catch up with a friend and call past a couple of nemeses geocaches, and the afternoon was then utilised in seeing the World Press Photo Exhibition at Brisbane Powerhouse in New Farm.

{*FTF*} with Brislions this morning. After a look around we spotted the wee thing and BL hooked it down. Somehow everything went wrong all of a sudden. The hook or the cache was stuck and as BL shook it, the hook and a bit of the rod snapped off. The cache went flying but it was easy to find. The hook part - not so much. We couldn't locate it anywhere. A pair of tweezers was taped to the rod in an attempt to return it to the correct place. This proved impossible so we got it to where we could which was way lower than it should be. Let the CO know before we returned to BLs house and made some rod repairs. Cache was eventually returned to the correct place. And we still couldn't find the original hook. Thank you for our morning laughs Muggle65
