Despite a lot of searching, we couldn't find it... HOwever, we were really interested to see that amongst all the rocks, there were signs of an old 'constructed' path (cement joins and dry stone blocks) which must have, many years ago, lead down from Heathcote to Heathcote Creek. Most interesting!

23-Mar-08
This cache was archived in November 2004. There has been nothing there since. In fact the container was subsequently used for "Hats Entertainment".

20-Nov-04
Now made a completely dispute free cache.

20-Nov-04
Cache on hold pending maintenance run.

18-Nov-04
Perhaps SWAGtim and Ropes should delete their logs. As Ropes said by the rules of caching, to log a find you must sign the log book. Well we did that, what we found was the original log book, and we signed it! why should we have to delete our logs. Perhaps, Alternate Route, you could save alot of trouble by actually doing a maintenance trip and reunite the original cache and original log book, otherwise in the future you may still have the problem of people finding either the original log book or the cache box.
Signed a disgruntled Mrs Odee McPodie.

OK
Thanks Ropes, good to see the cache is still there and well hidden.
Odee and Peakn I think you should remove your find logs, try again and actually find the cache this time.
It would have been very disappointing to do a maintenance run for nothing.

16-Nov-04
Very interesting! I found the cache, but not the logbook. By the rules, to log a find you must sign the logbook, so I did....the cache has a new logbook...maybe one day the old book and the cache will meet again!

13-Nov-04
I found the log book as well but not the cache I re-hid the log book in a not so hard to find spot this cache will probably need a cache check by the placer.
Great spot too

13-Nov-04
Well this is the second time we have looked for this cache. We looked in the same place that we worked out that it is suposed to be and we found the log book but no cache in sight. I wonder where SWAG tim found the cache? Its very disappointing to find caches tampered with or missing.

02-Nov-04
Thanks SWAGTim, good to know the cache isn't missing after all, just well hidden. Saves me a maintenance trip.
Cheers

Took a bit of searching, the cache is well hidden, but no logbook?
I almost feel guilty logging a find for this cache, since it is only a mere shadow of its former self.

16-Oct-04
After searching unsuccessfully for about half an hour, we asked for some help from The Rats, who confirmed that we were looking in the right place, but there did not seem to be a cache there. I think someone has swiped it.

07-Aug-04
I hadn't found any other Pilatus waypoints, but I was passing by and figured I would give this one a shot.
Luck was with me today and I found it in about 5 minutes. Third place I looked I believe.
Sorry to rub it in, whoever it was that wrote in the logbook "found it easily, on my third trip and after several hours of searching"!
Continued on to find the next WP as well.

Found 6/6 today. A trip a couple of weeks ago I found 1/5! Sometimes the Satellite Gods are smiling...

07-Aug-04
Might have found the first cache easily enough, but the second location proved more difficult. Looking in the street directory it appeared to be in a park, and I predicted a quick find... which turned into a 45 minute search... Razz
Ironically, when we finally did find it, the thought crossed my mind that the hiding place was a little too obvious! heh...

05-Jul-04
This is a bit weird as the other week on my way to Hobbyco to check out their latest model trains I spotted a guy going down the escalators wearing a Pilatus cap. So I guess unintendedly I found Pilatus in one go. Pictures of the encounter at our website.

02-Jul-04
Well, after a brief search and a quick call to SWAG Aft, I went back and re-searched the spot I looked in initially. It was in the very spot that I looked first - only I just hadn't looked hard enough - the light was fading fast.

12-Jun-04
Our research on this one was a little thin. We'd jotted down a street name and were running only from the directory. After filling the petrol tank around the corner, we found our street and parked the car. Thinking that the direct route might be too difficult for geo-pup and geo-bub and that there might be a path we had to follow, we were suprised at the short walk. I'm glad it wasn't my turn to look first because I probably would not have found it.

A nice easy start for the first cache for the day.

10-Jun-04
Took a bit of looking but finally found it after widening the search a bit. TNLN. Thanks guys.

Due to an over site by a friend, this log is a LITTLE late. This was our first solo cache and the first of 5 for the day. A nice find and a great start to the day. thanks guys.

It was time for the Cheekfrogs and the Jamss to join forces for a caching day. This was our first cache for the day. We took TNLN, but broke a nail... what a start to the day.

29-Apr-04
Finally got this one, and my #85 thanks.

and it only took 10 mins to find.

Sorry Bear Left, I have now corrected the page and written the history as it occured.

22-Mar-04
Ooooh! Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it infamy!
It's hardly _our_ fault if you choose such obvious and open spots to hide waypoints! [:(!]

19-Mar-04
This one poped up when The database of wps was resynced with the geocaching site.
A nice easy find in my lunch time.

18-Mar-04
On the "dead waypoints" page:
"Erskineville It just went missing (before anyone found it!)"
should read:
"Erskineville It just went missing (before anyone EXCEPT BEAR_LEFT found it!)"
Hmph! Cool}

This was the first of a monster hall for the Rats today. Started here at 6.30am. After finding numerous rocks out of place the cache finally revealed itself. Swapped a CD for a plane and magnet + a TB.... Thanks guys

29-Feb-04
Dropped the difficulty rating down since it is no longer necessary to find the seven preceding waypoints or crack any of the codes.

27-Feb-04
This one popped up on my nearby caches list so I thought I'd quickly get it done now that it is a simple traditional cache.

I think the difficulty is much too high unless you are classing it as a part of the overall Pilatus set. The cache is well hidden and camouflaged but didn't cause me to much grief. Having a torch helps as usual.

TNLN. Now for parts I and III

What an epic! It took us two days and a mere three calls to the Pilatus Help line. Piece of cake! We made late starts on both days, which didn't help the cause, but we trudged on regardless. WP1 and WP2 gave themselves up fairly easily, however we started to come unstuck on about WP3. Our first call to the help line confirmed our suspicions that we wern't meant to be looking in the driveway of an abandoned servo at Mascot. DOH! Back to WP2 to decode the clues again, and then off to the correct WP3! After 45 mins scouring this site, we logged another distress call to the friendly bods at the help line who gave us another clue, and #3 was ours. We started again on Sunday and set off for the final WP. Again after 45 mins of furious head scratching, a 3rd call to the help line confirmed that we were on the right track. We returned after a lunch break and found the cache almost imediately!

Not sure when we'll get around to doing part three of this series, however I did achive my main objective for the weekend. The Air TB for the fifth element cache is now mine! WOO HOO!!! That's the final one I needed. An assault on that one coming soon. Thanks to Shaggy and Miss Leah for invaluable assistance and many thanks to the Pilatus helpline, without who'se help, I'd still be scratching my head in Mascot somewhere... DOH!

After the abortive start a few days ago, and waiting for the right moment to grab the next waypoint - I was off this morning at 8:00am... There were a few strays sleeping off their hangovers in the park, but I managed to get to the waypoint and get it without raising suspicion... Then it was back into the car and off to the next waypoint... and the next... and the next... With regular calls back to base to help with the decoding of waypoints... Arrived at the final cache site and it took a while to find it, but I got there in the end...

A great cache, with ingenious waypoints and interesting hiding techniques... A fitting cache to reach my milestone of 200 finds... Cache 100 was Get Smart, who knows what cache 300 will be (maybe Pilatus Part 3?)

Great work guys...

Left the AIR bug there for a future player...

Managed to find the first waypoint of this cache... and then something terrible happened!!! The waypoint got stuck inside my car CD player - Whoops...

I'll be back on the track for this one soon... Sorry guys...

28-Dec-03
The cache is still here and waiting to be found again. It now contains the Air TB for Fifth Element.
Following the lost CD and the fact that the following WP has been fenced off by Sydney Water, this cache is now shorter and easier. More details on the web site real soon.

04-Oct-03
Did a check on the final waypoint of this one and it is safe and sound. (I think Splatt and flawless should log a no find on this one).
Hurry while stocks last, this cache will not last forever.

24-Jul-03
The missing WP has been by-passed, making the hunt even easier!

15-Jul-03
The Kensington Waypoint has been compromised and will be bypassed shortly. SMS the help desk for following co-ords until further notice.

04-Jul-03
Had to ask for help from the Pilatus help desk. Finding the cache was easier than the waypoints. Thanks for the interresting and well constructed cache.

Not quite sure what's going on with this one...I took the long drive down from home to find evidence of Pilatus having been here, or that he visited during certain hours...see pics. The co-ords from P1 sent me to a hole in which I found something very interesting but couldn't quite piece it together...is a mini cd with letters and the word of the location part of this cache? or is there someone else playing a similar game out there??? I vaguely recall a cache of this localities name some time ago but it went AWOL...is this a missing clue??? Pilatus eludes me once again.

13-Jun-03
Managed to find all WP'S without any problems. Found the final waypoint in no time. Need to contact the help desk a couple of time. Now heading for Pilatus III

Good luck to all in the hunt

We're still on the case but have come up against a sticking point. 'Point' being the operative word. Don't worry though we'll be as pesistant as dogs with a bone.

We had to abandon the hunt last night due to darkness and hunger, and it was, of course, the furthest WP from home...
Nonetheless, we only had 300 more important things to do today, so we headed out again bright and early, at the crack of lunch.
Not only did we find the waypoint, but it turned out to be this GZ cache!
We then went on with the hunt, and might (just might) finish it before we leave the country in August...

06-Jun-03
Found WP1 OK, but we weren't carrying the right equipment (not _everything_ on the list is a red herring!) so we had to nip into the nearby shopping area and improvise (the trusty Palm T|T was invaluable again!)
Spent a while scratching our heads at WP2, but we'll have to go back in daylight (and armed with a herring perhaps...)

06-Jun-03
In fact the only red herring is the red herring.

05-Jun-03
Pretty scare view from here. Took EARTH TB for placement in a cache near by.

This place is a real hole. Would love to live in this area.

Charlie Brown and his apprentice

Jr was a bit keen. Ive edited this a post only now. Sorry guys.

Dropped off the Earth travel bug at the first waypoint of Part II.
