We enjoyed visiting the area and found the final coordinates without difficulty, so no problems there. We were looking forward to getting a BBTC here. However, we didn't have the gear for a wet weather hike, so had to leave the final for someone else to find. Thanks for bringing us here, and greetings from Ireland.
Updated description for the stone which looks blank but is actually inscribed at the same location as the other dated plaque.
Hi there aandm
We looked for your cache The Diamond Valley today without success.
We don’t think we are blind, but we couldn’t find the second waypoint. Maybe some coordinates will help to future finders.

Ian & Penny

I have had this on the to do list for some time. However most times I pass through this area it is as part of a MTB ride and time does not allow seeking of the final location of this cache.
This morning fresh after a day at the Rural Safari it was time to close out this cache. After a nice warm up walk in and after a little searching a cache was located.
Time for a coffee and cake.

Today, I joined E_Smiley with our plan to hike at Crows Nest National Park, targeting a few Q100 oldies that included Perseverance Pays No 1 and 2.
We had arranged to meet at Toogoolawah, and I elected to take the drive north of Lake Wivenhoe via Wivenhoe Outlook and Red Cedar. We took a few stops at the small cluster of geocaches north of Lake Perseverance that took longer than I had anticipated, and so we eventually arrived at Crows Nest National Park for our walk. The river and pools were great, but I hadn't anticipated the mapped track to essentially be non-existent, so it was a much tougher slog than I had thought. If that challenge wasn't tough enough, we thought we had just enough time to take a drive south to another Crows Nest National Park section, where we then hiked up to Perseverance Pays No 1. A friendly walk along fire tracks, but the last scramble section was challenging, but the views were terrific. We made it back to Toogoolawah well after our planned end time, but it was a fantastic day nevertheless.
I previously visited the posted coordinates on 29/10/2021 where I attempted to collect the required information. I was able to get the information as per Question 1, but the nearby stone honouring the town pioneers had a plaque that couldn't be read due to weathering. Consequently, I contacted a previous finder in order to get that information, and not surprisingly, the multi-cache was to be another day that required a planned hike.
We set out on this walk deaprting from the car park at 09:30 hr. We ended up walking a total distance of 7.87 km across an elevation of 223 m, with a moving time of 2:00 hr. Despite that, we ended up getting back to the car park at 13:45 hr.
This was our first geocache found during the walk, and despite the cache looking like it was just next to a track, the track disappeared after the valley lookout. I also learned where the name of this multi-cache came from, so nicely connected. Upon arriving at GZ, the cache was a reasonably quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks aandm for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 08/2003 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

Not a bad find for a couple of septuagenarian goats. What a climb but great views!! Found cache, signed and replaced as found. GnS_71

Spent a wonderful weekend camping in Cressbrook and getting to see Australia's famous wildlife up close. On day 2, we popped over to Crow's Nest for supplies. I failed at the second part as I could not for the life of me read what was on the stone as the text isn't distinctive from the background. Unfortunately, after ten minutes I had to give up as the muggle was waiting for me.
Very accurate coordinates made the find easier once at Gz but getting to it from the end of the track was a bit tough as it has gotten quite thick after all the rain. Thankfully the rocky ground meant you could see where to put your next step but just not far ahead or behind due to the small tree growth.

We are spending a few days in Toowoomba, and this morning we went for a drive to the Crows Nest National Park. On this warm day, there were plenty of cars around and people enjoying the nearby swimming holes which are very full of water, quite fast moving at the moment.
Everything is green and lush, and after collecting waypoints for this one, we had a short bush bash to GZ where we found the goods to be safe and dry.
Thanks for maintaining this old one.

A early start today with a bush walk plan and Muggle65 and Green Geckos pick me up for a long day.
We had 3 old caches as our target caches today.
They were also for a challenge cache too.
Oh what a walk it was to grab these old caches. We follow the track to the first cache.
Then we headed to the second one only 800 meters or so. But with a big drop down. Could we find a slightly easy way down. It wasn’t easy, but we did get down to the creek and cross the water it. We found the second cache.
Now to the last one. So up the other cliff side we headed up and up towards the third cache.
What a walk it was. I fell over a couple of times.
Finally we got back to the car.
I ended doing 12 cache for today the breakdown was.
One AL with four waypoints, 2 multi, 2 Traditional, 3 mystery and one earthcache.
Sorry for the generic log.

Muggle65 and l left home at sparrow fart o'clock, picked up Brislions and headed out of Brissie. We arrived at the parking area soon enough and started our walk. I was expecting it to be much more primitive but the track was fantastic. Fabulous views from GZ as well. Great cache - thank you so much
You know some mornings you just want to stay in bed . But alas I found myself behind the wheel driving to Crows Nest for a little country fix & a wee bit of cache time. How manage to con Bris to come along I’ll never know ….(I really do, but I can’t say. It was a glorious morning at the GZ with the fog starting to clear, cache was in good nick & returned as found
Found as I meander my way from Adelaide to Cairns.
With no real travel plan and three weeks to get there before I meet up with friends, there has been plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and finding a few selected caches along the way.
I didn’t realise quite how far GZ was going to be from the starting coordinates for this one. So, after collecting the required information the previous afternoon and calculating the final coordinates, I headed off to camp in the National Park for the night, then enjoyed the early morning walk to GZ.
Although I don’t usually pick up TBs these days, I thought the one in this cache could be marooned for a while, so I grabbed it to move it on.
Thanks aandm for the cache.

Having decided to spend the day caching, I've ended up in Crows Nest, and this oldie was a target for me... I'd collected the required information a couple of weeks ago, and got as far the carpark, but then thought better of it as time had gotten away from me...
I was surprised at the number of cars in the carpark... quite the popular place... I made my way to the Falls Lookout and contemplated the oldie there, but as phone reception was dodgy at best, thought better of it and proceeded along to where I remembered the final of this multi to be (approximately)... Somewhere between the Falls Lookout and the cache, phone reception returned and I could compare my memory to a map.... this is also where I learnt Brisbane was going into another snap 3 day lockdown... damn "the covid"...
I don't do heights, but could still appreciate the beauty here... and thanks to spot on co-ordinates was able to find the cache with some speed.... Left Tassie Tracker to carry on...
I chickened out at Cool Views again on the way out... I just didn't want to go it alone... thanks aandm for this oldie... well worth a fave point....

The three oldies in Crow Next NP have been on my to do list for a while, just had to find someone willing to go on the adventure with me. Snickersallen agreed to join me so we met at the carpark at 9am and set off in the cold, windy weather.
We took the long way around to this cache as we got it after climbing up from the valley floor. It was a tough climb up but were happy to make a quick find when we reached the GZ.
It was great to see the tourist track and enjoyed the cruisy walk back to the car.

Out with triple turmoil this morning working our way around Crows Nest and some of the surrounding areas. I had a few target caches to get and a few as we passed by, what a nice area. I was particularly after the old caches in Crows Nest National Park, a couple for my 360 grid and then a few just because.
Three old caches in this area and I was after them all. I worked out the finals for the multi and worked out a track for grabbing the ones in this area. What a great little walk around, the water falls were just great with plenty of water flowing over them. The rock pools looked very inviting and the views from the lookout were just spectacular.
We reached the waterfall lookout and realised we had another 100 metres to go and across that way, triple t was not impressed but followed along just the same. A bit of a bush bash through the new growth and we soon spied the cache.
Back over and on our way to the next cache and a little set of rock stairs lead us to a cool little lookout, oh the views. We waited for a few people to leave and then ducked off into the rocks for a look around to find our target, bingo there she is.
A walk back along the track and then into and through some scrub, before we found our last target in the area. Thanks for placing these here, it was a very enjoyable walk with some fantastic sights.

Chamad and I had a big morning getting target and other caches in Crows Nest. Although before we arrived here, Chamad thought this was a little walk to get to the treasure. We sat in the car and thought about it for a while. We had a lot to achieve today and this was going to suck up a few hours of that time. But the caches in here were special and we were already here....so off we went. At a pretty fast pace. The view from this lookout is amazing. Nature is a such and amazing thing. Thank you for bringing us here. It is incredible.
Out for a walk in this national park today.
Good path to here.

It is great that our cache is still being found all these years later.
Oz_bean_counter and friends (see previous log) did another cache in the valley below before climbing up to this one hence the 11 km hike mentioned. Sounds like you all had lots of fun!
Just a note that the cache can be found on a set of regular walking tracks (4 km return).

Finally catching up on doing some logging I was very fortunate to have been invited to join 1MinnieMoo, oz_bean_counter, fangsoki, Pprime, Crew153 and Captain Terror to do a hike in the Crows Nest National Park area to find some of the older placed caches. I was a little hesitant due to my poor level of fitness, but I had faith in the group that they wouldn't have invited me if they didn't think I would be up to the task.
After hiking through the Diamond Valley, we knew we would be walking past GZ for this cache so those of us who hadn't yet found it, took the opportunity to add our names to the logbook while we were here.
Thank you aandm for creating the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

What an awesome cache. This one has been on my wishlist for a while - it is one of Queensland's oldest 100 geocaches, and looked like a lovely hike. I was lucky enough to tag along with a hilarious mob of cachers for this hike. Half way through I realised there was a strong aversion to wearing pants. No, I'm not going to explain that one :p
It was quite the hike, with the terrain changing frequently over the 11 kms. Some grassland, some beautiful huge grass trees and prickly pear, a meandering down to the creek bed, and then rock scrambling (ok ok, they are the devils marbles... huge!), up some scree (which is more like a rock hop up a gully), along a ridgeline, and then finally... finally... finally... a compact earth path.
The views were stunning and totally worth it.
A few stops were required to get to the end. Lovely to start and finish as a united group.
If you're reading this and trying to sort out if you're going to do this cache or add it to your wish list, then do it! It's lovely and worth the effort.

Hello Ministro,
The cache has been there for so long (17 years) that I cannot find the paper I wrote the original coordinates on ! We visit the area quite regularly and will be heading that way Sunday week (20th September). I will actually have to re-calculate the coordinates again from the markers in the park.
At the time the cache was published - there was not (to the best of my recollection) a field on the cache creation page for a multi for the final coordinates which may be why they are listed as the same as the posted ones.
In any case, I should be able to update it on or just after 20th September.

Day 2 of our weekend away, more ups and downs planned with 1Minniemoo and Nyssaflutterby.
I was completely exhausted by the time we got out here so I followed the others around slowly.
It was good to find another old cache here, we didn't go up to the lookout as there were too many people and we still had more caches to find.

Being an oldest and finest cache this one has been on my list for quite some time. Happily, I was in this lovely part of Oz with wombles and 1MinnieMoo today and able to finally create a smiley.
It sure was busy, lots of muggles about but once they had disappeared up to the lookout we were able to head to GZ. Having a previous finder in our group, it didn’t take long for the container to be in hand.
Thanks for the cache and the views aandm

This was a good little multi which we had solved last year and not had a chance to finish. Shane did the final find and logged it on a beautiful day and got drenched with a sudden sun shower on his way out while Kez painted rocks waiting in the picnic area, she was disappointed not to head in today but the knee just wasn't playing the game today.
A nice multi that took us to a beautiful spot, found with bennyboppers and mnance101 today. A little search at gz but found all ok. Tftc

With Covid restrictions easing it was finally time for a getaway. Kaibrya decided the journey to Crows Nest with me, Fangsoki and Captain Terror was the go, coinciding with SaintsMadHouse’s visit, so booked us a cabin for two nights and Fangsoki and I headed down to join Kaibrya after I finished work Friday evening. Unfortunately due to family birthday celebrations, Fangsoki and I would only be able to stay until early Sunday morning, so decisions were made Saturday to change the schedule up a little and head here today to do these two caches I had not yet done, so Kaibrya could do the one initially planned for today that I had already done, tomorrow.
So after grabbing breaky at the local bakery, off we headed. Parking the car, we began our journey. Of course the two boys couldn’t help themselves with their need for a little nonsense along the way, but we did enjoy the scenery along the walk too. Although it’s possibly lucky for the Captain he’s still alive after some of the jokes he was telling along the way!
Now I had grabbed the information for this one on a previous journey here with wombles and co, but we had planned to save the final to venture to with NyssaFlutterby, but due to changing programs since, had managed to lose said info. Thankfully Fangsoki came to the rescue for me here.
An enjoyable trek and some lovely views at the lookout before we continued on to the cache to make a nice quick find.

Due to the terrible fires in the area of Crows Nest - I am disabling the cache until the danger has passed. Best wishes to the residents of Crows Nest - a beautiful town we love to visit. Stay Safe! AandM
Went along today with a friend so they could log it. Picked up the trackable too
I have walked up here many many times over the years and never knew anything about caches. Now I do
HippyDonna is still teaching me about all of this but it is lots of fun.

Stayed overnight at Crows Nest and Plan A was to do the newish Ravensbourne Falls cache. Even had a rope in the car. That was scotched by my ever-present bronchitis and, well, no desire to rush it as anticipating a visit out the paddock by the mower mechanic early this afternoon
Plan B found us at Crows Nest N.P. with this multi and a nearby trad to hunt down. We wandered over the other side to log the trad and decided not to venture on to the far-flung cache. Back over here my buddy headed to the lookout while I scooted up to GZ. At most this is a terrain 2.5 An easy find and dropped off a trackable to enjoy the scenery
aandm This park deserves more walkers, spectacular spot.

Gathered the required co-ords whilst at the Rural Safari in Crow's Nest but didn't get time to make it out for the walk. Another weekend we hope to. Thanks for the fun gathering the info and for the history lesson.
Attending the Rural Safari 2019 event at Crows Nest, and travelling and caching with Susan and Uve of TBU.
We recovered the required information at WP1, and then made the trip to the parking area and then the longish but reasonable walk to GZ, where the cache was quickly located.

We are staying in the Caravan Park for the Rural Safari 2019. Looking forward to the challenge tomorrow.
We met Mickeyspikey here and took off on our arrival day to get some smilies.
Having finished the lovely track circuit, we decided to continue the walk to this Multi. Not long, and we had the answers. Oh, what is waiting now for us?
Another lovely walk... Okay. Let's go, it's early enough, the temperature is beautiful and suitable, so we walked up and down and down and up.
Yes, got it.

We collected the information for this a few years ago but never got out here. Today, while my geowife slept in, I decided to go for a walk. It was 4 degrees and the windscreen was iced over.
When I arrived at the car park, the temp had dropped to 3 degrees. I was surprised to see a couple of camels by the side of the road, inside the national park.
I began my walk and kept my hands in my pockets because it was so cold. After a few ups and downs, I was starting to warm up. I even stripped off a layer or two.
When I got to the end, I went up to view the spectacular view before making my way to GZ. This one definitely deserves a favourite point even if just for the view. Thanks for the cache. This was my 200th multi

Very enjoyable walk to get to this one after working out the WP, beautiful scenery and a good hide. All well with this old cache and log book dry.

Visited this park on two separate occasions trying to find the memorial to the pioneers. We found plaques commemorating war heroes, the Red Cross, community minded folk but nothing about pioneers. We resorted to contacting HippyDonna who was the last one to find it and asked for some help. She kindly pointed us in the right direction and today we did the walk to find the cache.

Lovely cool day so decided to head out and grab some TBs. As a local I have been here many times and it never gets ‘old’
Took my daughter along to show her a bit more about this weird hobby mum has!

After the Rural Safari, we decided that and early morning walk in the National Park would be just the thing to clear some cobwebs and stretch the legs. So after sunup we took ourselves off to have a look for The Diamond Valley.
With the rain the night before the scrub was smelling fresh and the sky and views were clear of dust. It was lovely and cool and very tranquil as we managed to first on the track.
All good with the walk, cache and views. Thanks for adding to the weekend.

As this years Rural Safari winners, the party at our accomodation went late into the night (OK - truth is we were tucked up in bed by 10.30 pm after a hard day searching for a cactus growing out of the top of a fence post and other such assorted items).
It was the morning after the night before. So, courtesy of tonight's roast dinner - a rooster that can't tell the time and crows at 3 am - we were up early and headed to the National Park for a walk.
This cache was at the top of the list. As I hadn't visited the first waypoint beforehand, the previous finders in the group provided some directions. Later in the day, I stopped at the first waypoint and took a look around for the clues.
This was found in good order.
Many thanks AandM

I started getting the clues for this one at last year's Rural Safari, but time constraints meant we didn't have time to come get the rest and the final. But thanks to a couple of Seff's PiL's roosters who take their job descriptions *very* seriously, and some crows who were disgruntled at the noisy intruders and decided to respond, we were up super early and off for a gentle stroll in the National Park. The final for this is a great spot, thanks for a very nice walk and cache.
It was actually some months ago that we visited Crows Nest to calculate the location of this cache. That day we were headed home after a night of inequity in Toowoomba and decided we would come back another time after buying some soft drink. As we had another night of debauchery planned in the Woomba we headed out to rectify things.
I had to pass in on the other old cache and feared the same result would eventuate but the walk was really cool. It looked like we would be able to get this one and pressed on like an iron.
Up we went to GZ and I knew a favourite point was mandatory for the location. This could have taken us a while to find but as soon as I told my wife about the cache hide she was digging it out. We continued on to the lookout for the briefest of looks because all of a sudden we were keen to get into town for dinner and to prove we were still young at heart and in the cot. tftc

Beautiful spot. Late afternoon hike in stunning Aussie bush after big parmy lunch at the local. Staying over for date night. Tftc and the challenge
Dora the Explorer!, Phil Serenity and I took a trip to Crows Nest today to grab some particular caches today. Dora the Explorer! had been here before but wanted Phil Serenity and I to find these caches and to enjoy the magnificent views that were on offer. We were not disappointed.
We stopped in at the posted coordinates and we able to obtain the information required to produce a set of coordinates. The check sum worked. We then headed off to the National Park.
After finding a traditional in the area, we headed off the calculated coordinates and fairly soon had the cache in hand.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.

The kids and I planned a day drip to Crows Nest National Park and stopped in town to get a bite to eat so i thought i would grab the clues while WillPunkey and his little brother played in the park. After a swim in the creek it was time to do a couple of caches so it was back to the solved cords. The walk to the cache was great, it was busy out here today but no one noticed our detour to find the cache. I left a small TB. thanks aandm. FP given #1650
A great multi cache. We had intended to take a walk here while we were in town and this was just the ticket.
Gathered the required information in the morning and set off after lunch for the final.
All going well until we got to Gz and then the rain started. Rained all the way back to the car park.
Saw a couple of tree snakes and a platypus along the way.
Cache is in good condition
Thanks

Heading westerly today for an event and I wanted to nab this ye olde cache on the way (so to speak). Fangsoki kindly offered to drive and after an early start, and coffee, we were soon enough arriving at posteds to stretch the legs, dodge the chooks on sale and read some plaques. One of them was rather faded ... but a little dirt ingenuity and all was revealed. And soon enough we were off again, skipping along the road down to the car park. It was still early enough to be cool in the shade, but the sun was quite loverley. We trundled off along the pathway and were nicely warmed up by the time we reached GZ. Easy find in the right place. Hadn't spotted another human out here, but voices (I never saw them) passed us by while log signing occurred, and then we saw many many of them on the way back. The walk out was better.
Thanks for placing this cache, aandm. Found in good condition. A definite FP

Did the walk to the Lookout which was great. For some reason our calculations did not give the correct coordinates. So despite looking in likely locations, we came away empty handed.
Spent yesterday winding my way to the park for an overnight camp. Joined by IolantheK, T-Tech and Brother Colin for the camp and walk today to the caches out here. With only a short walk we had a lazy start with bacon and eggs for brekkie. [^]
I am not sure when I started this mutli, but is was a little while ago. I would guess about 7 years. I collected the info on the way home form a mountain bike orienteering event in the nearby forest.
The walk was planned for last year, but rain stopped play that weekend.
Finally made it today.
The views are spectacular and the walk is quite easy to this point. [^]

Up from Brisbane for a over night at Crows nest National park with IolantheK. We joined up wi[h teamdfl and Brother Colin to tackle the caches in this area
Solved this one with IolantheK ages ago but time restraints meant the finding of GZ had to go on the back burner
I enjoyed the rock hoping and challenge involved in getting to GZ

T-Tech and I camped last night with teamdfl and Brother Colin at Falls Campground, and today we are taking the walk to gather the caches in this area.
T-Tech and I started this cache back in May last year, but on that day we had neither the time nor the gear to tackle the hike teamdfl and I have planned to take the walk out to Perseverance #2 for quite a while, and when we finally set the date, of course this one got added to the list for the journey.
It's a lovely part of the world and this morning the weather was glorious! The wander out to GZ was rather pleasant, then a little up to reach the exact spot, where I made the find. Some lovely views out here. TFTC, aandm.

Found with Goldielover and a previous finder. We had another few caches to grab out this way and it was suggested we make a dash for this great cache. Love the area up here. Pity the swimming hole near by is blocked off. I would not like to jump from here any way.

I managed this find by 'riding on the coat tails' of my brother's hard work. It's a beautiful place here, one that I regularly visit. We live in a very lucky country. TFTF.
Almost two years ago I was up at Crows Nest and gathered all the info needed to locate the GZ. Unfortunately, there was no time to do the actual find. Well, this week found me back in the neighborhood and my sister and I did the walk out to the very beautiful location for the most satisfying of finds. TFTC!
A day out was planned with Slow Puncture to find as many of Queensland's oldest caches as possible in a single day trip around the Darling Downs today.
We passed through Ravensbourne, Crows Nest, Carbalah, Meringandan, Kingsthorpe, Goombungee, Haden and Yarraman on our adventure, finding 8 oldies and a total of 26 caches during the 540 km drive .
We arrived at the first waypoint with a guest being cuddled by Slow Puncture... after hitting a bird with the car (or did it hit me), Slow Puncture picked it up off the road and nursed it until it felt a little better, a kind gesture.
We crunched the numbers over morning tea in the shade, after overcoming some shortsightedness obtaining the info from the second object. Then it was off to take a walk and collect the final.
The walk was pleasant, I spotted a rock wallaby at one stage. The final is a great spot to be, I really enjoyed the view and the breeze, I was feeling very sweaty by now . The container is in top shape, and was nicely hidden.
This cache is in good condition, and makes smilie #2857 for us. Thanks **aandm** for showing us this spot. Discover our code TGQNRV, and mention where you saw it.

Thursday. It was an early start for both Orange Crew and Slow Puncture as were out today to collect some of the Oldest and Finest as well as other caches that came along our way.
We obtained the co-ords for this one with an injured bird in tow (having come across it from collecting our previous cache). Part of the puzzle clues were found quite quickly and the other part did involve a short look around for the answers. Eventually we found what we needed. We decided to stop for some morning tea here as well, so that we could work out our final numbers and check that our little bird was going to be ok. Lovely green area and nicely treed too. After having our tea and fruit, we headed off to GZ for this cache.
All I can say was that I loved this whole area and I will be heading back again with Mr Slow Puncture for another look at this area. Although we didn’t leave at the spot mentioned in a previous caching note (we left the track a bit earlier), we had no problems navigating our way to where we needed to go. A favourite point for this cache for the spectacular area and beautiful views. We were rather hot and sweaty after getting this cache and were in for a weather change later today when we were driving around with storms in the area.
This was the 9th of 26 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***aandm***, for showing us this place.

Wow my mobile phone has dreadful GPS, lol! Punching the coords into google maps was much better. Great fun scrambling and enjoying the views though... TSLS, TFTC!
We drove into town and found all the clues. We didn't know anything about Jimmy previously - how interesting. Worked out our GZ then off we went.
The overcast skies today made it pleasant for walking. We saw a few wallabies on the way.
Made our way to GZ and soon spotted a likely hide. What a nice big cache.
The log book was a bit damp so we replaced the torn zip lock bag.
Thanks for this enjoyable cache aandm. A Fav Pt from us.

Nice stroll to gz. Quick find. All the information to get to this cache is available at the first waypoint. Saw a rock wallaby nearby. Then continued on to the next cache.
We had done some home work and visited the listed co ords before attempting another caches in the area. We had also done a bit of googling and came up with a likely GZ within 50m of the final. We had limited time so it was a brisk pace and we managed to stay on a path most of the way. Some good views near GZ and once we closed in on the co ords we headed to a likely space for a quick find. Great to see another old cache still going. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.

T-Tech and I have spent the weekend camping at Crows Nest for Xixau & Shenzi's 2016 Rural Challenge. Today we need to leave for Brisbane about 2pm, so there's plenty of time to grab a few caches in the area. Rothy6 was able to join us too [^]
I like doing multis, but the previous log had me a little worried, so we decided to make our way to the start to see what we could find. Ummmm.... well... everything IS THERE. We had no trouble getting all our numbers sorted! Our checksum agreed first go, but when we plotted our GZ, we realised we weren't going to finish it today We just didn't have the time required to drive there then take a 4 km walk Numbers saved for another day...

Found with Gaz'n'Kab after a lovely long weekend at Bunya Mountains. What a fantastic walk! Thank you for bringing us to such a lovely area
After a superb few days away up at Bunya Mountains, it was now time to head back home along with catscatscats22, but of course we had to grab a few caches along the way This one was next up for us, so we pulled up in the park where the markets were just kicking off, and headed over to grab the information we needed We soon had all of the numbers and a projected final GZ which was perfect, as that is where we were headed next anyway!! We set off again headed off towards the final GZ, where we soon arrived at the carpark, and with water packed we set off to grab this one! A lovely walk out towards GZ, where we followed the trail for about 2km where we headed bush. We were certain we got the coords correct so were getting excited as we made our way closer, as we got to within meters, Gaz spotted the cache [^] We added our name to the logbook, before heading off to have a look at the lookout, before heading back tot he carpark via the other nearby cache [^]

We stopped and enjoyed the view for a while before heading back.

Day 4 of the mega caching tour of Queensland, and the week leading up to the mega in Stanthorpe was largely spent finding some of the states' older placed caches. Having stopped by WP1 last night, I had trouble with trying to read the information needed by the torchlight, and so left it for the following morning just to be sure. I returned here after completing 'Cool View', only to find out when I calculated GZ of this cache, I would have to walk back out along the same track. Bugger. Oh well...I was already expecting to go for another walk with having to find this one, so I wasn't at much of a loss. Once at GZ, the cache was soon discovered, and I had the joy of seeing another quality view point.

Had started this a couple of years ago but had not been able to complete and had lost the relevant information. As it came up on the "oldest caches" list we returned today and worked out the final cords. Off to the location and then the walk. Trail deviation persuaded us to look for more direct routes but this proved disastrous so we eventually stuck to the track and arrived at GZ to happily claim the cache. Area appeared to be very dry. As the last cache for the day it was quite an effort to return to the car. This was our 7500th cache.

Out for the day with Mrs Esky, Kestal and her young adventurer. Having just completed Perseverance Pays No. 1, this was a very pleasant stroll through the countryside, with paths and steps and even sign posts to guide us on the way. After collecting the clues and calculating the correct numbers we drove out to the parking spot. I reminisced along the way about how I camped out here for a week with uni friends after our graduation.
Had a great time being out here again, and I think we will need to come back some time with our own little eskies as this is a great walk and easy for geokids.

Ticking off a couple of old time caches in the area, this was the second on the list. After tackling Perseverance Heights, a quick stop in Crows Nest to collect the answers to the questions. I (Mrs E) was doing the calcs on paper and verbalising the answers as kestal & Mr E peered over my shoulder. I warned them to "check me". All was silent and I get to the checksum...out by 7! What!? Fat lot of good my checkers were . Quick scan and the error was fixed. Off to the final. What a lovely walk. GZ found and the view taken in and that was us done for the day. Thanks aandm. Fav from me.
I had grabbed all the information and derived the final coordinates over 12 months ago but have never had the opportunity to go out to the final. Up at Crows Nest again this week end and events panned out well to allow an expedition out to the final. Myself and 3 young teenagers made our way steadily along the path to GZ. Grizzle guts geodaughter plonked herself down "resting" after her walk while the rest of us searched. After she enquired moodily whether we were even in the right place she turned around to spot the cache hiding less than a meter from where she was sitting. Log signed and we all made our way back to the car. Tftc
