Woo hoo - a golden oldie! It seemed an easy drive-by but whats all this chatter about snakes? Scared us, that is for sure. So now we are in between the golden oldie and a verge of very long grass, presumably snake-infested. Lordy, what to do? Walk through the acidic pines. Yay! There; done and so happy!Thank you Gordon Patrick Samuel, (My son's name is almost the reverse of yours... Samuel Patrick)
Did your Spelio Country today. 15 September 2024 3:44 pm Tyfc Gordon Patrick Samuel total caches now 6909 .
Find # 15905Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 7. Naracoorte to HomeA day to take in the sites of the Naracoorte area before jumping back over the border. To head for home. Grabbing the odd cache along the way. TFTC Gordon Patrick Samuel
Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.Heading out to look over the caves when we released it was a bit late. Grabbed the cache but decided to check out the caves tomorrow. Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC
Easy find on the way to Mount Gambia. Followed the Geo Trail from the road and soon had item in hand. Cheers.
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state WA. Waded through the long grass - glad it isnt summer. Thanks for the hide
Travelling with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching Trip.We are on the move, Narracoorte, using geocaching as our guide. This one looked scary, but a nice quick find was made. TFTC.
Aiming for Penola today. Weather started off alright but getting closer to destination it started to rain. In the next few days will reach a few targets I set myself.
After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 5 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the future
Travelling today to Mt Gambier. Calling into Murray Bridge to pick up a Favourite cache then on to Millicent and through to Mt Gambier.Caching with and signing as 5 for QLD. RoddyC hatzofff imbunda snickersallan and grannysmith.TFTCache Gordon Patrick Samuel
A February Mega brought us to Adelaide. Our group is travelling together and signing logs as 5 for QLD. Today we journey from Adelaide to Mount Gambier.Strangely, there are TWO Log books here.Log signed and cache replaced as found on March 12, 2024. TFTC, Gordon Patrick Samuel.
09:52Heading east on our way homeward, after the fun of the Mega, we made a number of those "stretch the legs" stops, naturally close to geocaches where possible! Congratulations! What a Golden Oldie -- 20 years on the gameboard! Thanks to Gordon Patrick Samuel for adding caches to the geo-gameboard 36620
I'm visiting SA for the LeapMega and doing a tour of the state, collecting caches along the way. I grabbed this one after doing the AdLab in Naracoorte. I have family in this area and used to visit often as a kid, and it hasn't changed much, lol! Thanks for keeping this one going for so long.
Continuing on with my South Australian caching tour and the mad collection of caches in the state. I am again part of the BOLD 7 team doing the mad assault on as many caches as we can. Today is going to be a mad long day as I am driving to Mt. Gamber and surrounds to chase some LGAs and some special caches. So glad to have finished off over the 300 of the Bike series, the ice cream cone art was fun, the anna tommy art was hot, the stayla challenges were cool. Now to move onto a different area of the state. OH the big Lobster is on the cards today. Love a Big Thing rings true today. First off today is the morning event. Was nice to see so many people turn up to the event. From there it was off on the drive. I am really loving the countryside of this state and the people are friendly while still watchful of you. We signed the caches as BOLD 7 and replaced them as we found them. Thanks for the hides and the great caches. Mum we will be late home.
How very exciting the big trip has finally arrived! Down from Brisbane with a host of other geo friends with plans aplenty, enough to almost see us needing to extend or make a return visit. With a day up our sleeves and a desire to fill our LGA grid some of the team split away to go on a massive LGA run down to Mount Gambier and back. Id love to say it was a fully researched trip, but it ended up being a more spontaneously planned trip. Some areas we sought the favourites, others the cache type and sometimes just the well maintained and accessible. I particularly loved this day as this is a region I spent a lot of my Christmases and Easter visiting my grandparents, so the towns brought back fond memories. Thank you for your cache which has added to my wonderful caching holiday.
Three of us heading to LGA hunt today. Lots of scenery and enjoying our impressive country. Thanks to all the SA COs for fab caches!
Spent the morning in and around Naracoorte with some of the family for a pre mothers day celebration (as this mum has to work on mother's day). On leaving Naracoorte, asked son if I can stop and do this one. A quick find on a beautiful autumn day.

A quick find after wading through the tall grass. Thank you, Gordon Patrick Samuel; cache #4166.
Day 2 of our road trip (me and kids) saw us start in Naracoorte and end in Tailem Bend. A quick find on the way to the caves. Nice old cache too! Thanks for the cache
Cache guardian. Who needs snakes. Finding GZ was relatively easy and am glad the CO was gracious enough to warn of the slithering things... CO failed dramatically in warning of guardians ready to launch... I know I certainly did and had to go and collect all the bits of the cache from everywhere I had tossed it... TYFTC SLTN Left the guardian... had a few of these today and have not taken one of them. I'll share them with the next finder!
Grabbed on our way back from the caves with Crowfam44. He did the signing honours.
A quick highway stop on our return journey from exiting the caves. This is a busy highway so suggest travelling a 400m closer to Naracoorte and taking the side road that flows the fence line in all the way to GZ. TFTC
Found whilst at GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent

Spent a lot of time on the road today with ilook4geo and just picked out the very occasional cache to keep us on the right road. Found all except one and were happy to get to our next camp spot. Thanks for this cache placement go to Gordon Patrick Samuel.
Had a long day driving with only a few caches to do today along the way with goingplaces2. All logs were signed and put back as found. TFTC.
Had to stop here for the find when I saw the age of this cache.
All is in good order and a well chosen place.
Thanks Mr Samuel for another find, most of which I still have to log.
Love this part of SA.

Beaut weather to be out for a drive and grabbing a few caches around Naracoorte. Great coords, we came in from the back track, TFTC!
I really haven't been paying attention... a 2004 and a regular so close to 'home'. Decided to take an early evening drive just for this cache, coming in on the road at the back made this really easy to access and all is well with the cache. Such an old cache like this so easily accessed with no fav points... That's not right, here's your first. Thanks for the cache!
So great to pick up this old cache. Thanks for keeping it alive.
Leaving Mt Gambier today after a great stay and heading to Renmark. The weather was pretty cold but managed to get lots of caches done.
On a road trip to South Australia now the border is open with Kittykatch, and barb2e calling ourselves at day Border Busters or BB. Nineth day of our trip and loving the beautiful green fields and cool day. Awesome day to be out.

Sad face right way up at last...A quick find with hevwalker, TT016 and PrincessAria and Little GoosE on our way home from Narocoorte for the last event of the weekend. A great day out with friends. Easy find after entering along the side track instead of main road. TFTC

Missed a weekend in the South East earlier this year due to the dreaded plague.
Took a drive roughly in that direction this weekend with Sebastbat to make up for it a little.
We'll be back
We found your cache Gordon Patrick Samuel thanks for putting it out here!
Nice area, full of holes in the ground though
Stay safe, sanitise, exercise, cache the regions at a distance ! ! !
Come visit the Barossa with your cache hides anytime [:o)]
Back down to Mount Gambier with Mogni. She wanted to do mainteneance on some of her caches. Day 3 saw us slowly returning back to adelaide. After taking the coastal road down we took the inland road back. I think i finally have a almost ( less than 5 caches ) clear road from mount gambier to adelaide now. Any containers that needed maintenance were fixed and any log books that needed replacing or that where almost full where replaced with the mega coming. Also any small container had extra scroll placed in it for the coming mega in 4 weeks.
After visiting the Fossil Caves we went to Naracoorte to get some informations from the visitor center and then decided to go back to the caravan park next to the caves. So we came along this cache a second time and now we decided to stop and search for it.
Found without problems,
many thanks, Bigerchen
