We found Stage 1 unexpectedly on the way home from Nelson after my wife wanted to share the location. Our son asked if there was a geocache here, and after a very brief search, we managed to find our treasure. Well done, and thank you!
Staying at marble hill tonight just 20 metre's away from the first wayppint so out with the pen and paper, soon had stage one sorted (tick), grabbed the next lot of info and off we went and a short while later and standing at 0 metres according to my loaded calculations I am retrieving this regular sized cache, signed our name and returned as found and recovered. Thanks for the placement and the smiley and the multi.
Stayed at Maruia Springs last night. Targeted this cache because its 20 years old. No problems collecting the information at the first two stages. The walk to GZ was awesome but checked a number of trees before spotting the cache. Might have been quicker if I had registered that its a regular size! Thanks for an interesting multi.
This cache was a target for us this trip as we are trying to fill in our Jasmer (hidden month) grids. A lovely campsite here and we really enjoyed exploring. Was interesting learning about the earthquake information at this cache. Thanks so much for placing the cache and keeping it going for so long, much appreciated!
Loved our visit here - a great little area. Both stages of this multi were easy to find, and interesting information too. Thanks for setting up and maintaining. Found with angelic_kiwi.
As promised, I dropped in a better looking copy of the coordinates for the final, and a new container too.
This was supposed to be a family trip to Hanmer weekend but some are sick and some tired. So, what does that mean ??? Yes, a caching weekend to myself, again. I had a target of dead ones and the odd live one to mix it up.This was one of the live but very old ones. Got to WP2 easy enough then hoped I read the numbers right from the clue. Drove a bit then walked and was soon at WP3. Yay, hint matched and got the container. Nice. If I remember and am ever passing by, I could drop in a new copy of clue.
This was a priority cache for Team P&V+K and I this weekend. We bagged a lot of DNFs on this trek but it was a score to get this oldie. K made the spot and it took the rest of us a second to catch up. Everything right where it should be. Great multi. Went smoothly and was fun to find.
Stopped to have a go at this oldie. Easy enough though second stage squashed and just readable due to a bit of age and water damage. Thankfully the final is in an obvious place so guessing numbers was ok. After completion put in a new container to give some protection. Could really do with the laminate replacing though.

This is the 4th oldest multi I have found! Exciting!
Have driven past this campsite numerous times over the years, but this time finally decided to stop and check it out. An interesting experiment with the wall. I wonder if it will ever move or get damaged by a quake... Hopefully not, I guess?
The stage 1 container is very much crushed by the rock under that it's hidden. But the clue is still intact and readable. But maybe if someone has a pill container with them when they come here, they could replace it.
Final container wet inside but logbook still alright. Dried it out and rehid back.

. 1686. We got the details for stage one before going to sleep for the night and finished the multi in the morning sun. Found with eKitten, GRAkiWi, Li0npaw and Jenryellea. Signed kanoe+GeLj. TFT(fault)C.
Note: the physical container at the middle stage has been crushed and is in pieces. It still works but could use some TLC in the future.

Decided to grab this one before we moved on from this campsite. Its interesting learning about this location.
A easy find. Some people were signing a log at stage 1 which I removed to stop more people logging it as found at stage1.
Thanks for putting this cache together.

Camping here for tonight, was a pleasant evening activity to solve and find this cache.
I gathered the reqired a while back and decided I needed a wee walk today so wandered and made the find. Cheers.
Ms_KR and I are back from our wee tour of the North Island. Today we cruised home from Murchison. It was a lovely day and it was good to get home.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Lots signing a log in the waypoint container not sure they actually go to the final to Turkey claim the cache. Lovely place in the sun. Tftc
Ok we didn’t even look for coordinates that is, me and team elliott family.
Dad just scrabbled around and found it right then so we signed the cache.

Ok, I’ll be straight up - I feel a bit guilty about this one! Mrs TEF saw the wall, read the description and was keen to solve the multi. However, we decided to tackle a traditional here instead just to give the kids a chance to stretch the legs.
On our way back from that one we stopped near GZ just to enjoy the serenity. As we got ready to leave something just a little bit out of place caught my cachesenses and I managed to ferret it out! So, Mrs TEF and NZ5 both got their multi and I got my traditional. Woot woot.

This cache has been on my to do list for years. I had the coords for the Waypoint container that contains the coords to the final. There was a log in this so it appears others think it’s the final. I signed it too before I noticed the extra set of coords. I set off to the final and parked near the trailhead for a nice easy walk to the actual cache, signed the log and grabbed the travel bug. Beautiful location too. Thanks Moneydork. Your cache is in good condition.
Team Broadbent obviously found the waypoint micro double pill bottle. The coordinates for the final should have been in there... the final is a regular size snaplock placed as the hint says.
Stayed the night here on the way to Takaka on a tramping trip with the family. After dinner the kids and I went to find the cache. We were initially given a wrong steer by the hint (ignore this - no tree root). But the co-ords are spot on. Double screw cap container found. No log sheet, so I put a couple of pages of waterproof paper in there. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 2272
All worked out for an easy find. Very interesting multi.
Had attempted this a few years ago but at least one of the containers was missing from memory so had a DNF.
Thanks

While Andy went for a long walk to a hut, I checked out this cache close to our campsite. First two tasks were quickly accounted for the I headed off to find the final. Wandered round in circles for ages as I was working from the phone while Andy had the GPS. Finally came across the cache then realised my pen had fallen out of my pocket in my meanderings. A hunt around and I recovered the pen, signed the log, emptied the water out and headed back to camp. TB dropped off inside logbook. tftc

We have passed this place many-a-time without even seeing this site. The start of this geocache took a bit longer than necessary as the family explored the area. It wasn't too long to walk up to the geocache to find the cache. Find#525
Sorry it has taken me a couple of weeks to come back and do this log but it's not really that long considering getting the cache took over 9 months to achieve. Awesome cache but it took perserverence as there is no cell coverage in the area. The first time through I had loaded it before leaving Chch and got the first part easily while eating our lunch (great lunch spot) but couldn't find the next set of coords at GZ. Reloaded in Westport and stopped again on the way back but no luck. Repeated this whole process the next time through carefully writing everything down but still no luck and we realised the 2nd stage cache was missing. This time through I checked before we left and saw someone had replaced it (thanks). We got the second stage coords but couldn't load them with no internet. We wandered around where we thought it might be but couldn't find it. We reloaded before the return trip and walked straight to the final GZ (right where we had been looking a few days earlier).
It's a beautiful short walk around this area and well the time spent.

7 Dec - stopped for an early lunch - nice to have this Lewis Pass route back to the usual lower traffic this summer now the Kaikoura road is open again. Yes, the physical waypoint was gone. Replaced it with two identical versions, 3 m apart, each hidden according to the hint. All go again.
The beginning was easy. We gathered all information for Stage1. At the coords was nothing to find. We spend half an hour searching...
We wanted to have a little walk anyway and came to the place described in the listing. We found a suspicious place and had another look. We really made it without coords.
Finally we found it. Not sure if Stage1 is still there.
Thanks for showing! Tftc

Found the old cracked container by mistake. I hope the log is accepted anyway. Thanks for hidding the cache.
Checked the waypoint on our way through. Still in place where we left it, but container had cracked and the paper inside with the coords was the worse for a year's wear. Replaced with double screwtop container and waterproof paper. Full waypoint information in the inner container "You have found a geocache waypoint", etc, with just the vital final coords on the paper in the outer container. That should last for a while, touch wood. Please replace stone gently!
Awesome bit of info, hope not to be in this vicinity the next time the fault moves! Actually found a container with cords for the final at the first cords, all worked out well as we headed into Lake Daniels. TFTC
I needed a walk to stretch my back so this fitted my requirements perfectly. Everything was straight forward and the final cache was easily found. Enjoyed the walk and a cache along the way is always a bonus. We would like to go further along the track one day tftc

After finding my motel for tonight on the picton-detour i drove back and easily found stage 1. Number 2 was a bit more difficult due to bad gps accurancy. Thanks for showing these nice places!
Yet another one off "the list"completed today with extra special thanks to BigglesNZ and Daywalk. I'm never sure if that is a good thing or another step closer but it felt good either way. A lovely day for a walk on the track and stunning views around GZ. A very satisfying find all round thanks Moneydork. TFTC # 10,191
Journeying back from ChCh in our motorhome, we stopped over for the night...great spot, a lot of people. Figured this cache and made a quick find...tftc.
My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. Toby is booked in for a nose job in Christchurch, then body work at Ashburton. Today is Springs Junction to Akaroa.
We were here last night and grabbed the info but darkness desended so its back this morning. Got to the end of the road and the
Seagnoid says over there - lets go down that track to the river bed. So off we go, through the fords to the river bank - but no its over there - the other side of the river. So its back, find the track and go for a walk. A hunting we will go at GZ but no luck so I head back for the Seagnoids cell phone for a hint. Of course the Seagnoid finds it. TFTC. I love this beech forest walk. Ok back on the road playing tag.

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip! Day 2: Springs Junction to Akaroa.
Spent the night in Springs junction after coming out here for a couple of caches. Last night we came out to the DoC camp and found a couple of caches and and solved this one. A fascinating structure this. But it was getting dark so we came back this morning to find the final.
We a re delivering a 4x4 to Chch for repair so took it down the track from the end of the camp, only to find it goes the wrong way. At GZ we fumbled around for a bit and then gave up. As I only had the waypoint in my GPS Taybeedragon went back for the cellphone to get the hint. And a minute later I found it! Ran back to catch up with the dragon.
Stopped off at the loo afterward, surprised a weka. Lots of tui around too.

All in good order with this cache.
Replacement WP2, 50 ml pill bottle. Clue: base post, under rock.
We didn't try this cache the last time we had lunch here 8 years ago, although we had walked to see the Sluicebox gorge, so it was on the to-do list these holidays! Came prepared with notes from previous logs, the spoiler photo of GZ and a replacement WP container.
Couldn't find the plastic bag WP2 placed by BigglesNZ - the rock which seems like the original WP2 hide spot has shattered into several chunks. Worked out a likely area for the final and when we got close, Mr D looked at the terrain and led us unerringly to the cache. Much satisfaction signing that logbook!
Took coordinates of final and put in a replacement WP2, a few metres from where we think the original WP2 was, but a hide which will be obvious to any cacher. It's a 50 ml pill bottle with an inner 20 ml pill bottle, so should be fairly water-resistant.
Checked on the way back and the new WP2 was still in position. I see the cache was found on the 23rd, so all in working order again. A fun, scenic and educational cache - only a short stroll needed - and the parking area is an excellent lunch spot with toilets and picnic tables.

Like the previous two loggers, I couldn't find anything at the WP indicated by the clues in the listing. I thought that's that then, no way to find the cache. Kind of disappointed we headed on to Lake Daniels. Overnight I had an inspiration as to the area where I thought the cache would be. On our way back out today I reread the listing and when we got to a significant feature, I headed off track to have a look around for things that fitted the hint. After a bit of a search and close observation of the surroundings I spotted the hide and the cache! Whew! Very relieved. I took a reading on my GPS of the final coordinates and wrote those down on some paper that I double bagged and placed back at WP1. They may not last too long without a proper container but that's the best I could do. Hope someone passing by might be able to provide a more durable and waterproof solution. In the end it was a cool multi. TFTC, Biggles.
Well, you need the one DNF, don't you? Nothing near WP1 - we just hope that you make this either a traditional or find someone to replace the container or hope we were just blind.
Am absolutely sure we had the right info for Stage 1 and did a really good search but could not find.
On the way from Hanmer to Reefton we found this box.
Wat a strange story with this wall!!

On an epic caching mission with Surveybase to North canterbury, Waipara, Culverdon, Springs Junction, Reefton, Greymouth, Arthurs Pass and back to Rangiora over two days. Final count for the weekend was Saturday 124 caches, Sunday 80 caches. not a bad weekends work. sorry for the cut and paste but it would take forever to log them all. Surevybase had the info for the first waypoint the off to a quick find at GZ. Loved this place, very scenic, TFTC
On an epic caching mission with Shannonp1 through Reefton to Greymouth over the Lewis Pass, cacheing in Greymouth then returning to Rangiora via Arthurs Pass over two days. Final count for the weekend was over 200 caches. This is a nice quick multi with some interesting history and science. The final was a quick find and as I was signing the log got nailed by a wasp. Please take care retreiving and replacing as there is a wasp nest close by. Grab and take away for signing and then return should be all good.
We had set up camp for the night ready for a day walk to Lake Daniells next day and still had some daylight left so off we went to "do" this cache. It didn't take long to find the numbers required so it was off to GZ. Future finders, beware, there is a small wasp nest about 1½m from the final GZ. The nest is just a 3cm hole in the ground. Thank you Moneydork.
We'd set up camp for the night but there was still plenty of daylight left so what can you do but find a cache? Stage 1 numbers were soon found and the coords assembled. Funny how we earlier visited that very spot. With the final coords now in hand a pleasant walk led to GZ. The find wasn't hard but attention needs to be drawn to a wasp nest at about 1.5m distance from the cache. Traffic through the hole in the ground the size of an old 50c piece seems to indicate a sizable population. Thank you Moneydork for placing this cache.
We stoped here, to recognize that here were also a beautiful campside. Furthermore a very old cache is located here. The listing of this cache was quite interessting, so we decide to stop and to sea the geological feature. We went to the fault and found something, but no box. Following the trail we could recognize some of the features, which are described in the listing. Due to we hadnt any coordinates of the final, we tried to find the box with our geocaching instinct. Furtunately we found the box after five minutes easily. Thanks a lot for this interessting cache.
We stopped here today and did the little walk. Cache was easy to find. Thanks for the Multi!

Finally knocked this one off my list. I've driven past here many times since I started caching, but not had the time to get the final for this multi. I first stopped at WP1 and collected the initial information way back in 2011. It was raining and the kids didn't want to hang around, so I left stage 1 for another time. That turned out to be 19/12/12. Again the kids didn't want to hang around while I shot off for the final. This weekend, I jumped at the chance to join a Rangiora Tramping Club trip to Lake Daniells, somewhere I'd always wanted to visit even before geocaching. I took up a position a the rear of the group so that I could easily duck off and find caches then catch up again. This cache was easily found. The lid hadn't been shut properly and so was very wet inside. I drained it as much as I could. The log was dry in its bag, but my pen wouldn't write so my log is scratched into the paper. Took TB. Really enjoyed finding this cache. We had a few little tits accompanying us along the way.
We passed this one on our way up to the hut for the night. We completed the challenge the next day. Great spot for the final cache!
This a very nice place to stop over. Good walks and scenery.Spent 3 days here and picked up these caches. Good hide for 2nd stage co-ords. Bagged as container broken and I did not have a replacement.2nd stage was a sight to see in flood after 3 days of rain.
Stopped for this cache before a walk to Lake Daniells and back this afternoon. An interesting bit of science and history, and the scientist mentioned on the sign was one of my university lecturers for a short period, a very interesting and knowledgeable person. No problems with the questions, and both the waypoint and the final were quick finds. Signed log, TFTC
Fun multi, found as we started the walk into Lake Daniel's for the night. Container 1 has a cracked lid and a few slugs have made themselves at home inside
Stayed the night here in a little tent on the way north to hike the Abel Tasman for a week. Very cold morning but it was Justanurse's 1000 cache and she only started this year. She has been a wonderful caching buddy.

I can't believe people don't do this one more often. Two great places to visit and a favourite from us. Took travel bug as the poor thing has been here for ages. Great walk on an awesome day and interesting wall too.

We decide to stop here for the night in our camper and were fascinated with the fault line wall so figured a cache 'should' be here and what do we find, but a multi! Brilliant, as we had arrived early enough to leave the Grandparents in the camper with their wine and go for a wander around on the last day of the year before dinner. WP1 lid is broken through but the co-ords although waterlogged were fine to read. Loved the walk into the beech forest and found GZ with no trouble although it may pay to note there are a few stoat traps loaded close by so watch the juniors . thanks Moneydork for another interesting location.
An interesting location to visit, with the coordinates quickly found, and the cache also a quick easy find after a lovely forest walk, although everything was very wet. TFTC
Crazy times - when master three requested the hiding place of wpt2 to be rolled over to see what was under it I just refused to be sucked when my wife duly rolled it over and said there's a cache here!
None showed up on my list so I figured it must have been an archived cache. I've figured the reason now: my PQ was for only a few hundred meters from the road. Birdland qualified but not this multi.
Fantastic spot - piqued the interest of two strings of the science teachers bow - geology and ecology. Just wish I could've got to GZ.
Container lid is quite cracked but the coords for what I now know to be the final are quite legible.

Glad we stopped by and found the wall. How many of these interesting places would I have gone to before geocaching? Not many! Cache took a bit of finding as GPS was dodgy. WP1 has a cracked lid and the contents is wet but still usable. TFTC.
A stop for a feed for the little one here finally allowed me the time to finish this off, having started it 18 months ago. A few campervans and tents about with campers enjoying the evening meals as the sun was setting, a great time to go and enjoy the view from GZ. TNLN Thanks
Caching with gracie7 and Mum on the way to Hanmer Springs, 9/18 for the day. Loved the colour of the water. TFTC
Tried before leaving Moneydorks Easter Event earlier this year but couldnt find it. I now understand that we were trying to find the cache without first going into the track which puts you on the wrong side of the river. I really dont know how I missed that but glad to have the chance to come back and find it. TFTC
Well it's about time I finished this one started at previous cache events. Wasn't planning on completing it today but arrived early and ADV had a printout in his hand. Didn't need any encouragement to join the hunt which turned out surprisingly easy. Why was it so hard a couple of years ago? Loved the bridge and views of the river so much I had to hide my Easter Egg nearby. TFTC
Solved stage one last night but left the rest until just before the event. Arrived back near stage 1 just before the event and spotted Hello Mrs and ADV heading back from the waypoint. They waited for me to catch up and then I tagged along to the final. A quick find. Loved the colour of the water under the bridge. TFTC
Like some others, while waiting for Moneydork to arrive,we decided to find this one as well.A nice little walk to the bridge with Bonnie our Geodoggie in tow and just loved the view from up there.A nice quick find.TFTC
Not sure how I missed this one in the past but all prepared for it today. Was doing the initial maths when Hello Mrs turned up for the event and promptly joined me, then minutes later Kiwiexplorer did the same. A rather interesting cache and a very nice walk to the final.

It was about time I caught up with this cache. I have known about that feature for over 30 years and what it is there for. Now I have been to it.
Normaly caches in the environment that the final is in terrify me, but I got this one straight away.
Cheers and thanks,
S.t.

gps lead us to 1st container, where of course we found (not having the info) it was a multi. So noted cordinates, as we were running out of time, then called in 6 days later on way back, and , whew, next container was the log book ! Nearly got caught retrieving the cache by passing DOC workers. We run the track often when we are passing thru. good one. thanks
Did this cache while at the easter event. Passed by some photographers on the way to the cache. TFTC.
Well it's about time I got this off the list, have been to the cache events here and driven past it, so great to sign the log at last.
Thanks Bitsprayer
