For such an old geocache series, I'm surprised I've avoided it for so long. It might be because about 5 years I DNFed the first one I went for. Then, in April last year, I started it for real, and the first cache I found had no clue. But earlier this year, I heard that this series was celebrating its 20th anniversary. I hit 3 more of the series before the event but was unable to attend. Then, in July, attending an event hosted by the COs themselves, I found 7 more of the series. This meant I had 11 of the 12 geocaches found. A few weeks had passed before I had time to time down and work on the clues. Funnily enough, or not, I was at the GZ earlier that day. Luckuly I enjoy this area. This evening, I felt like a Friday night bush stroll and selected this as my main destination. Arrived and would have enjoyed a nice sun set if the clouds hadn't come in and covered the sky. I'm sure I've found a geocache near here, but it's not on my map, and it would have certainly been within 161 meters, so I'm not sure. With good coordinates, I saw the geocache very quickly. However, with half a tree falling on top of the GZ, it took a little while to get it. Certainly, it has a lot of natural camouflage now. Thanks for the cache and a great adventure, Rabbitto.Hunter
A number of years ago I sought out to do this series in one day. An early start and the majority were knocked off, in of course visiting some great locations in doing so.
But not number 13. Left that one on the list. It joined other lists as time went on, oldies, DT etc. But I still never came back.
Drove past or nearby here many times, but always short on time, sunlight or motivation. So it remained on the list.
A beautiful clear day, so why not finally close the lid on this one. The numbers were reset, the clock is now ticking and the cache logbook is now signed. A pleasant stroll in and out with Pacman. Thanks for putting this great series out, look forward to coming back to explore more of the East again, one day.

Over four years we started this series and did the bulk of it in one day. Slowly we've picked at them since, and today we were finally in the area again to complete this baker's dozen.A beautiful 'spring' day weather for a 7km walk. Thanks, Rabbitto - this series is almost twenty years old now!

**Find #5015**
**Mystery Find #938**
An event at the trig point was the main reason I ventured here today. I rode my new mountain bike but had to walk up a few of the hills. A good catch-up with several people and I finally got to meet 'The Hamfish'.
I've had the co-ords for this cache for longer than I can remember so it was good to finally find it. I had a false start though because I found a broken container which was empty at GZ. I would have brought it out but being on my bike, I had no way of carrying it. Fortunately, as I photographing what I thought was the destroyed cache, I glanced a little further away and spotted the actual cache. Phew.
**Thank-you to Rabbitto for placing this geocache**

I had identified this cache and I had found only one of the required caches many moons ago. In the area of some of the caches a while ago, I slowly worked my way through the series…even having not a girl look at one. Fast forward to last week and I visited the remaining caches. The clues were very obscure and I needed some time to mull them over. The CO kindly gave me the info from the very first cache I found long ago. I thought I had made a link, contacted the CO and I was then armed with the info. While it was a bit too hot for me to be trekking in the area, I was brave and armed myself with a snake stick that I thankfully didn’t need to use. I got to my calculated GZ and was very pleased to have found the cache, I signed the log and replaced and then made my way back to the car.
Thanks for the tricky puzzle and for placing the cache Rabbitto.

OMG. FOUND!!!
I had given up on finding this cache about 18 months ago after finding what I thought was the 13th and it ended up being the 14th? Ha.
I learned that my record keeping was only half as accurate as was needed and between that and one DNF, that was all the excuses I needed to chuck in the towel.
Last night for no reason I checked on that DNF and saw that it was back in play. It was then that I revisited this page and spotted something now familiar to me. This gave me the motivation to revisit my sketchy notes to find a more pleasing set of coordinates and Bingo. I was so on the wrong track previously.
The cruel irony in finding this container today was a note left in the log book from someone who wasn’t looking for it and they found it.
Container was slightly exposed so it now has some suitable camo hiding it a bit better.
Thanks for a find I didn’t think I would ever be making.
Fav added to the pile.

With my daughters and granddaughters went there and finding your cache Rabbitto, thank you so much for placing it.
This series of caches has been work in progress since I started caching. At the start I had no idea what I needed to do and was very ad-hoc with recording the puzzle piece information. More recently I was looking at my D/T matrix and noted that this would help towards that, and set down to work out which of the 12 caches I needed to find to start the solving process. There was definitely an eek moment when I realised I had found all of the caches... But where was the information?
After searching notebooks and my pictures I found 11 of the 12 pieces... But had no idea which one was missing. Reaching out to a friend who had found it previously they very kindly supplied me with the missing puzzle piece. The fun then started - what/where could this be? I was about to set off for what looked like a promising location when I realised it didn't match the attribute. Another look gave me something that also looked promising so I took a chance and headed off.
I hadn't realised how unfit I was until I walked to the potential GZ. After promising to myself that I would rectify this I started looking. After about 5 minutes I saw something sat in the open. On closer look I had found it - yay! Once signed I hid the cache in a spot that was less in the open about 2m from where I found it. It seemed a logical spot and a bit more protected.
This mission is now complete and a FP duly awarded. TFTC Rabbitto!

Well that's the series completed. It's been good fun. And what a wonderful location for the final. Best views around.
Thanks for giving us this fun series Rabbitto, a favourite point from me for the series.

found the megalith
this treasure has quite a history
ten finds in its first two weeks
the journey from whoa to go tracked in hours and minutes
some taking a day or less to find the treasure among the minefield
but now
only two finds for the whole of last year
ending sagas of months and years
thanks for the treasure

We have spent the last couple of months concentrating on this series. Yesterday we grabbed the 14th cache, noted the clue, and realised we were in trouble. Not the usual way we would handle this situation, however, we were not too keen on the alternative, so we reached out to BeckNmonts for help.
Beautiful area and a fitting location for the final. As SteMicMitSar mentioned, doubtful the cache is in the original hiding spot, but we too replaced it as found.
Thanks Rabbitto for a thoroughly enjoyable series, and thanks Beck for your help.

I have been working on this cache for several years now, so long that the first clues I found had changed but I continued on but today it all came to an end while out on another adventure that was nearby as I looked around, I spotted this one from afar but it was in an odd spot and visible so I went over and checked it out.
The container was opened and i Found a very wet logbook which I was still able to sign, where the cache was found didn’t seem right but as I wasn’t sure if it should be somewhere else so I replaced it where it was found.

Wanting to finish 2018 on a high, this cache was chosen.
A lovely afternoon was spent visiting the few remaining in this series, along with a couple of others on the journey.
Some great locations, scenery, wildlife and spectacular views were admired on the way.
At ground zero I sat and signed this log at long last.
A journey of epic proportions that began about five years ago.
I could have quite happily remained here to wath the imminent pyrotechnic extravaganza but duty calls.
I sat and admired the scenery and views for half an hour as I contemplated the events and experiences of the past year.
The quintessential prize was finally mine.
Thank you for all of your caches Rabbitto, the ones that I have found and also the treasures that remain.
Obviously awarding a favourite point here.
What a high to finish the year on.
Health and happiness to you and yours from both of us.
See you next year.

This was an unexpected find. I was here for another purpose and went to take a photo as you do being in a spot like this. As I did I noticed a large sistema on the ground nearby, and went to check it out. There was nothing in it, but when I looked across I caught sight of something which turned out to be this cache. I have done some in the series, but will now need to get out there and pursue some more!
Thanks to Rabbitto for the cache.

This cache has become a bit of an obsession for teen and dad over the past month.
But our history with the series goes back nearly 3 years. A full-family walk from Grants Picnic Ground ended with a disappointing DNF, but dad was hooked on the idea of “finding”.
14yo is the normal partner for these trips, and together we found 11 of the 12 lead-up caches, starting with a detour near the 1,000 steps and following that up with 2-3 at a time most weeks.
An embarrassing afternoon where we only had one set of shoes between the two of us, a couple of nocturnal trips to Sherbrooke Forest, a DNF but managed to obtain that clue and some fantastic scenery in the few daytime finds.
Dad spent a little time dreaming up possible locations, was set straight by the CO and then tonight we inserted to the park around 6pm for the stroll toward possible GZ.
Brilliant scenery on the way in, heckled by heaps of cockatoos but the kangaroos ignored us on our way to GZ. We were lucky enough to find the cache at possible spot #1. Very happy to tick this off our list, although we will need to find another series to work toward.
Dropped bug, took nothing. TFTC.

Well, after the disappointment of finding the 14th cache when I thought I was getting the 13th cache, I finally licked my wounds, and got back out there to visit these caches AGAIN (some of them for a 3rd time!) I came up with a new set of coords and this morning was my chance to make another attempt on the mysterious 13th cache. During the walk doubts started to fill my head...."Do I have it right this time? What if it's not there? Will I revisit all the caches AGAIN or just give up?" As I neared GZ my confidence grew - this certainly looked like a place worthy of the final - what a location! Within a few seconds I had the cache in hand and with it came enormous relief, but also a massive sense of achievement. I have been on and off this series for over a year, but in earnest for the last month- it has become an obsession! Thankyou so much Rabbitto for this brilliant series - I'm gonna have a little rest now..............
The final is complete! I may be the king of the world; but if I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants. My second time up here and I love walking in the area.
It almost doesn't feel real that I've finally finished this series and found this veteran cache! I think I found the first of the requisite caches early on in my caching life - not really understanding the importance of note taking, storage and retrieval (oh... nothing much has changed then!... ) So I probably found half early on and promptly lost the required information within. More recently when the lure of D/T grids and other statistics beckoned I revisited and started targeting caches to achieve the ultimate (or is that penultimate?) goal. Thankfully good caching friends GJMMelb are meticulous in their record-keeping and were about to give me that which I lacked and I progressed to the 13th-err-ish cache where I stumbled, finding GZ but not the cache there-in... :-\ A revisit after CO intervention gave me the final piece and I awaited the opportunity to tackle this final cache of the series. Today was that day - although a bit on the damp, mizzly/drizzly side it was perfect for a hike and fairly low on muggles too (bonus!) While I could've (and probably should've...) taken a shorter route to GZ, I was keen to stretch my muscles, take in the fresh air, and make the most of this unseasonably cool day so visited a few other caches on my travels. Eventually, and annoyingly close to where I had previously visited caching - and ended up with a minor injury... - I reached GZ where the newly replaced cache was found and fresh logbook signed (thanks Rabbitto!) Now, by rights, this ought to be the 81st D/T grid square completed and my first loop completed - but alas due to archiving (and a little unfairness) this is - somewhat fittingly - the penultimate not ultimate cache in that challenge! a favourite point from me for a series that has been, it seems, a constant part of my caching life to date. (No, please don't make a follow-up series - not just yet at least! Let me get my breathe back first!....)
We took the walk to this spot today and replaced the cache. Thanks to the previous finders who have done their best to keep the cache going till we could get here. We had taken a walk up a few months ago and the original log book was still here at that time, which made some great reading. Unfortunately, although the cache survived since tat time (though just) we cannot understand that someone took the logbook and all that history back to 2004 went missing with it.
Perhaps I took the easy way in, but I was expecting the hills to be much worse! To be fair I was going at my own slowish pace though. However, when a super fit guy running with a weight vest (is that what they even are?) overtook me at a 100km per hour, he felt the need to turn and tell me that the views are amazing. Which was very nice of him, but made me wonder just how bad my slow pace was! Oh well, in no hurry I continued on to where my powers of deduction told me the 13th cache must be, since it wasn't the 14th. And there it was. TFTC and thanks for the series, a favourite given for the series. Rabbitto
Well this one was a long time in the making as l stated this ages ago and after eventually and slowly knocking off the puzzle pieces ( a couple l had to return to to collect the clue again...) l can now happily add my name to the log book. Out with omegaman1971 this afternoon and we eventually arrived at the gz after a invigorating walk or should l say slow stroll and the cache was soon found after a little searching about. We had to wait a little for a muggle not too far from the gz as he was keen grabbing a few pics from the vantage point, but otherwise he wasn't interested in us. Many thanks Rabbitto for the epic series and interesting puzzle, worth a fave from me for the adventure.

Out and and about with Happy pants and this surprisingly warm Wednesday arvo. Always love exploring this area. I not a fan of walking hills but couldn't pass the opportunity to complete this epic series with Happy!
And well worth a favorite point for sure.
Cheers for the cache.

The end of a journey. Great walk and plenty of Roos about.
Found the cache out in the open. Lid is brittle and broken in. Signed the log and re hid to help keep the water out although so TLC is required. TFTC.

YEEESSSSS! I finished the series....NNOOOOOO I finished the series Took about 2 years to complete this in a sporadic fashion to start with but then a little more focused at the end.
Out tonight for a bit of a stomp with trailstevo picking up 3 of 4 solved mystery cache and two traditionals. Didn't really do much planning for this one, certainly forgot to check how far we were going to have to walk, anyway 12km and 2 1/2 hours later we were done. Some good hill climbs too. Lots of Roos out tonight and we saw s beautiful owl that I still need to identify. Thanks for all the effort with these cache. Lots of fun. Back here next time to tackle the night cache! TFTC

Joined Gunks for this. He had done all of the previous legwork to get the coords, so felt guilty but I will pick up the others along the way. Tftc
CO contacted with more details, but:
1) Logbook missing
2) Cache lid broken
I logged my find on a piece of wood I found nearby and put it in the mint tin inside the cache.

From first finding #2, it was 2 Years and 2 Months (less one day) to finding this.
Although the clue in #14 didn't seem to line up with my solution, I was pretty sure where this one had to be, and as I'd been intending to go visit [REDACTED] for quite a while, this gave me the push I needed to finally get there.
Quite a walk in from [REDACTED], and as I got nearer to this cache my heart beat faster. From excitement? Well no, but it does sound better. To give myself a chance to calm down I first checked two wrong places (although they were pretty obviously wrong) and then went to the right place. The view here is very good, especially [REDACTED]. A few people visited the [REDACTED] while I was by the cache but did not notice me nearby.
The cache itself was easy to find, but not in great condition, unfortunately - so I was reduced to using a piece of a stick found nearby as the log. I can't help feeling using a piece of stick for the "log" is appropriate
Thanks for the cache, and the whole series. Great location here to finish up with, this one well and truly earns a favourite point for the whole series.

What an epic adventure!
Came across the first piece of this puzzle by accident, en route to a FTF. Put it to one side for a while until I chanced upon a second. Seeing the parallels between the concept of this series with 'The Twelve Days Of Christmas', and as the year was slowly drawing to a close, I paced myself through the remaining caches to coincide with the approaching festive season.
And then it just so happened that on Christmas Day I had a window of opportunity. So I ventured in to GZ and found the cache with perfect coordinates.
I wasn't able to perform the 'King of the World' celebration as a muggle had appeared nearby. So I opted to give the cache the Pete Samparas Wimbledon kiss of victory instead.
I grabbed a couple of TBs and left one that has been travelling with me for a while.
The cache itself is showing signs of age and could do with a new container. But I must say that the original logbook was a joy to see.
Thank you so much, Rabbitto. I have loved the tour of some of your favourite locations. Some familiar, some were new to me, but all were beautiful and local, and spun together with an intriguing puzzle.
Very well done, sir!!
A favourite, for sure.
And for the record... it took me 2 months from finding the first piece until I was kissing the final.
Merry Christmas!

This has been an amazing adventure! I found the other caches to solve this puzzle, except one which had been muggled. Once it was back in action it was a while before I could get to it. I had all my clues and narrowed down the 13th cache to three possible locations. Out here today on a beautiful sunny winter's day, I found it, at the first place I looked. Feels great! Thanks Rabbitto for creating and maintaining this amazing series
Well that made for a most excellent pre-dawn stroll! A shame really that I can't linger. [I'll type this as I walk back.] The tradition seems to be to outline the events leading up to this point, so I'm hardly going to break with tradition. The first cache I found from the series was the multi, about a month ago. I wasn't in any particular hurry, but my interest had been piqued, so the remainder have been casually picked up when nearby. [I just stopped walking for the sake of punctuation, and kangaroos have shown their displeasure. That'll learn me.] I only gathered together my photos of the clues about 11 hours ago. A small cluster of locations seemed by far the most promising and, being of the opinion that there's no such thing as a pointless walk in this particular area, I tried my luck immediately after getting some sleep. I've arrived back at my car now so this must be where I say thanks to Rabbitto for this fabulous series. Love your work!
Thanks for such an epic journey! The sights at GZ and along the way have been amazing. I really hope Rabito does another like it.

Invited on a walk with Zeus, Hera & Kids and Vanessa&Aodh today so that they could find some caches (that I'd already found) and also The 13th Cache. I'm up for a walk regardless of whether I can find a new cache or not so I tagged along, although I did suspect I was asked along as Navigational Support Crew due to some people's knack for getting lost in the bush (wink, wink, you know who you are) and the fact that the search party wouldn't miss me in my turquoise and fluro orange outfit.
Anyway, it was a lovely walk and I have signed the log book book with the intention of going back and finishing off the rest of the caches leading up to this one.
Thanks for the cache and the opportunity to get away from the housework and out in the fresh air with lovely friends. My lungs appreciated the dust-off.
Took koala TB and left thong TB.

Such an adventure! I first started collecting the clues for the 13th cache about six months ago, and then spent a lot of time with Hera going through the combinations and looking for likely spots on Google Maps. We narrowed it down to one likely spot. Then we waited until we were both free to collect the final, which took a few months with Christmas, then Easter, a spot of asthma and other ailments and distractions getting in the way.
The walk today with Hera and The Rusty's had my face turning a lovely shade of cadmium as I slogged behind those two fit types as they skipped up and down the hills. Finally, Hera pointed at a spot that looked 'very 13th cachey' and sure enough we looked close to GZ. I'd studied the photos of GZ when we were looking for clues to narrow down the possible 81 locations, and this was it.
Still there was that nagging sense of possibility that we had it wrong, so when Hera pulled out the cache, we all gave a little cheer (one cheer more wheezy that the others). It was really nice to read through the old logbook, from the days when people wrote a page about their travels. Hera did some clean-up of the cache contents and we all signed our names.
I feel a real sense of accomplishment now, and thanks Rabbitto for a fun, occasionally infuriating and scenic adventure.

What a wonderful adventure this was. The 13th cache series are some of the closest to our home so we found all (including the annoying 14th cache) last year. Vanessa&Aodh and I put our heads together and came up with a likely location - it just took us another 5 months to find sufficient kid-free time to make the walk!
Today was the today so with some great friends I approached GZ with trepidation. Oh the relief to find the blue container!
The lid is now missing a small piece but the contents are all nice and dry. I did a bit of a clean out of some gunk and mouldy/yukky swaps in the bottom of the container but the log is still dry in its ziplock bag; it might need a new container before winter sets in . . .

So with all the clues (we thought we needed) in hand and my 700th milestone one cache away, nanton34 and I set off on foot from one of the main entrances to the park that contained the 13th cache - at about 10:00pm last night. We took a track that we thought would be the easiest terrain and aside from a few moments we were spot on. This park certainly wasn't short of a kangaroo and as we got higher up the hill a few wallabies were also spotted on our way. Once we reached the top of the hill and spotted a trig point, we knew the 13th cache would not be far away. In fact, it didn't take too long before it was in our hands. A very satisfying find with an amazing view - one that will be remembered. Thanks to nanton34 for giving up this find for one of his own milestones for my 700th. Thanks to Rabbitto for a great series. tftc (on a side note, there is a small crack on the container lid that we covered with a large zip lock bag)
991 days since finding eight a picnic lunch which was my first of this series I have finally got to the famed 13th cache.
986 days ago I found my second cache in the series and I came up with a theory on how we would eventually solve the mystery of the 13th cache. This series reminded me of a teacher I had in High School who would tell tale of a fabled dumb dumb stick. In fact when talking of this legendary cache amongst caching buddies I referred to it as the dumb dumb stick cache. Of course if anyone knows the fable there is a clue there so I won't explain it here. So after recently finding a few of the last remaining caches in the series eighthknox and I had what we needed to find this cache.
I had wanted to complete all the previous 12 cache before making my attempt however when eighthknox suggested we go for this cache as his 700th I decided I would be in on the attempt. So eleven drummers drumming will have to wait but I still have the 14th cache to find also!!
Arriving at the carpark around 10pm we set off on the walk we opted to to take a less direct route to try and reduce the impact of the terrain and this seemed to be pretty effective. On the walk we saw a wallaby lots of kangaroos and even a frog. After a lengthy walk we arrived to a spot that we both knew had to be close to GZ, The view was spectacular and although it would be great to see during the day I felt lucky to get to witness it at night.
Approaching GZ the hiding spot became obvious we we a little disappointed to pull back the rocks to find the container cracked however the contents were dry and it was satisfying to read through the letter to reveal my dumb dumb theory was correct. I took the TB but left one in its place and placed everything back in the cache. Before leaving we covered the cracked part of the container with a plastic bag but this will need more permanent repaired.
Congratulations eighthknox on his 700th find and thanks Rabbitto this was a fantastic journey and a cache I will not soon forget

Having picked up the final of the clues to this wonderful old series I worked out where the final GZ was. I had been working on this series for a while now and at one stage, during a phone upgrade I lost all my old photos, so a revisit was necessary to a few of them. None of this series is too far from my home, but it has still taken me a couple of years to finish them all off. Thankfully today was the day. Sharkiefan and I met at the carpark and enjoyed a wonderful walk in. Was a tad blowy, but clear blue skies. Finaly made it to the cache, not too far from where I had passed by during Oxfam trailwalker earlier this year. Made the find easily and read through the log book. A veritable who's who of Victorian caching in that log book! A favourite from me Rabbitto. Thanks you so much for placing and maintaining this wonderful series.
Found with day1976.
Sometimes you just have to do things backwards. That is what Im going to have to do with your 12 caches that get you here.
Day had the details and were keen to get some D/T boxes filled so this was on the list.
A lovely walk both ways with oodles of nice nature to look at. I still get a buzz out of roos!
It is a beautiful location and with good company and banter it was awesome.
I was tempted to put down a cache on the way back but decided not to as I wasnt sure how I could maintain it.
Anyway, thanks for the cache. I will get on to the others asap.

Yeah finally found it. What a great series lots of fun and great walks along the way. Thanks Rabbitto
Doh!!! You really shouldn't go after difficult caches when you are pressed for time...like I did with this cache last week.
After DNFing last week, when I took my time afterwards and looked through my notes I realised that I had worked out two possible locations in the same general area. In my rush last week, I looked at one location and then rushed away without looking at the other...mostly because I was out of time and late for my next appointment...
Today, with all afternoon available, I was back to check out my other possible location. After a lengthy but pleasant walk I was at the second location that I thought was GZ...and came up with the cache . Finally I had done it...found #13 on my third attempt and so completing the series...
It only took me about 18 months but that was because (a) I had decided to find all the caches in numerical sequence and (b) I only went after the caches when I was in the Dandenongs and had some spare time.
Thanks Rabbitto for the cache and the series...in many ways I usually find the older caches are the best so a big thank you for keeping it going for all this time. I never seem to have Favourite Points spare to give away when I want to...so I will just have to put this cache on my list for when I do...

I had started off this series aiming to find them all in numerical sequence. All went well up to #12 and then, no doubt like others before me, I found myself at #14. Well, after a bit of a rethink I thought I had it worked out...but after walking a couple of kilometres each way today it was clear that I still have something wrong.
Oh well, looks like it is back to visiting the other caches again to find out what I have got wrong. This is fun...really...well at least that is what I keep telling myself .

Well, firstly, thanks Rabbitto for the journey. It's been over two years now since I found my first cache in this series back on the 20th March 2012, a mere 4 months since I found geocaching overtaking my life.
I have just been reviewing my logs from the previous 12 Caches, all completed 2 years ago (it took a while to get to the puzzle), and the memories come rolling back. It is all about the journey.
This cache and the puzzle pieces, what the hell do they mean, blowed if I know, time to muscle the coordinates. Using my geosense (acquired over the last two years) I narrowed the possibilities down to about 3 locations and then reviewing previous logs I had one good probability. Out for a pleasant walk this afternoon it was time to test my theory. What a magic location, I have been all around this general area chasing other hides but never to this prize location. How does one do justice to describe this place without giving away any clues, I guess I just have. Anyway, it was a quick find and the correct calculation and I was "the King of the World".
Thanks for the journey and thanks for bringing me here Rabbitto.

What a thrilling conclusion to Rabbitto's series, and a wonderful way to bring up our 100th cache!
This series has taken us to a number of pretty places around the Dandenongs that we would otherwise never explore. Having retrieved 11 of the 12 caches (one DNF) I feared we were missing the crucial part of the puzzle. But persistent messing about with co-ordinates, reading through logs, analysing photos, and an ounce of canny deduction, I calculated the likely location. The puzzle pieces that I did have narrowed the search down to a line of around 200m. Given that the previous finds in this series have not been too tricky, I took the gamble of heading out to the location to see what I could find.
Thankfully the threat of rain, a flat phone/GPS, and exhaustion were all averted. Upon making it to the desired location it was like coming across an oasis! Features in the photographs started to click and after a few minutes to catch my breath, punched in coordinates to start the search. A few seconds later I had found the calling card of a geocache, and, just like Morgan Freeman in The Shawshank Redemption, peered over to make sure nobody was watching. The the 13th cache was finally firmly in hand
The walk back to the car wasn't nearly as difficult, grinning all the way at a most magnificent outing. With GeoDee stuck working for the next few weeks we will have to revisit here again in the new year and make a picnic out of it. Maybe take the walk-in a little slower as well. This was a tough one, but a good one.
Thanks Rabbitto for the series and taking us to new places!

Found after 14 months. Love the views! Thanks for the puzzle. Flukey71 and I found the last 10 of the remaining 12 pieces 4 days ago in a caching spree after we found 2 pieces on Father's Day last yr. He got to GZ 3 days before me, but I cracked the code!
Many cute mammals about and some sweaty MAMILs as well!

Wow, what a cache!
I guess overall it's taken me 14 months to do this, but 10 of the first 12 caches were found yesterday and I picked up No 13 today. I thoroughly enjoyed this series, I was taken on some really good walks not far from home. Good places to visit and not too much searching once at GZ, that's the way I like it.
I wish I could say I solved the puzzle properly, but I can't. In retrospect, I was so so close in figuring it out and I'm kicking myself that I didn't do it. I actually used good ol' Google Maps to find what I thought was the most likely set of coordinates and went there today. Despite grey skies and light rain, and some locals that were eyeing me off for a boxing match, my spirits were high as I got closer to my presumed GZ as the area looked like a likely spot. After taking in the surroundings, I pointed my iphone in the direction of the last 30m, saw a good hiding spot, walked up to it and there it was. I was very happy to open the cache and find it was the real thing, not a decoy. Sent a photo to Flukeywife who helped me with the preceding 12 caches but had to work today - I'm sure she'll be here soon.
Thanks heaps Rabbitto for this series - you put alot of work into it and it is much appreciated.

Well, here we are some 3 years and 2356 caches later, standing with the 13th cache in our hands.
Wow....don't know many kilometers we have done, but its a lot. Our journey has taken us many places and we have done a lot of walking. Anyway...done.

My caching buddy mentioned this cache near his house a few months ago so I checked it out and noticed I'd already found one of the series a while ago. He had found 3 I think. So a couple of weeks ago we headed out and found the final 9 that he needed. In the next few days I picked up the other 3 that I needed to get all the clues as well.
After gathering and arranged the clues and not making any sense I started typing all the combinations into google maps and found what looked like a hard location to get to based on the Terrain. We headed out today and found it right where I hoped it would be.
This was an excellent series, really loved exploring the dandenongs for all the clues and was very happy to find the final cache today. I'm about to lay on the couch and recover from the hill climbing now so have to finish my log... TFTC Rabbitto a favourite from me for sure and for making me not be so lazy. Probably lost a kilo just today.

Started on this one when I first started caching a couple of years back. The last month I made an effort to collect the remaining clues and today we made the assault on the final. A little investigation and luck helped us narrow it down from the 81 to a possible handful. We arrived at the first point and bingo.. the tell tale signs of a hidden cache. Spiffy-, IsThisIt and I signed the log and gathered our breathe, before continuing on our bikes in check a further 8 spots for that 14th cache....
Thanks for the cache Rabbitto. A favourite.

It was the 13th day of a month not being the 13th (dunno why) in the 13th year, which is about 8 centuries after the 13th century. I did not plan for this to be the case but we realised the situation after we had found the cache. We even set out on this final hurdle at 13 hundred o'clock.
The 13th cache the series is now complete after a bloody long time. Actually if you add 13 months to 13 months and then add it again to 13 months you get the start date of when this series was started. the first attempted in the series was my 45th. Now finishing it is close to 3045 finds in total this will be. Apart from the 14th cache my last attempted one of these was about 13 months ago. But decided to complete with ross47 and emerald flame, who have been on this series a little longer. But when we where talking about the different combinations, ross47 piped up with that it would be easy to map and that he was happy to do it. Well after many months of bugging him about it. I told him that I was coming down from Sydney where I now live, and we where going to complete this cache and he had better get his act together. I had lost the clues in a previous house move, so thanks for rabbitto for filling in the gaps.
When the combinations started coming together a couple of areas looked likely. But due to the mapping being slow I started searching in other avenues, especially when I realised that I only had about half a day. I suggested to a previous finder my idea of where it would be. They said no it was in this park, which I thought was irrelevant as it was so far away from a lot of the others, but when we got their, we looked across and there was the map point for this cache which in the notes states that the final location is visible from.
Having lived in the Dandenong Ranges most of my life, I loved most of these caches, eventhough they where at the southern end. Some of the caches where also located in weed infested shit holes. . But I think my love of this series was plainly obvious after a did a copy of this series related to the bushfires around kinglake. It is called So Close and it is currently gc46r6x
These caches also involved some great spots and I think Puffing Billy might have muggled me on more then one occasion.
Anyway it came to this 13th day. We set off up the hills and discussed how sore we would be tomorrow. I had just been up to the gz to collect a clue for a multi, gee would have loved to have killed 2 birds with one stone then. Passed a few walkers and lots of skippy's cousins and long lost relatives and 1 lone wallaby. At this stage we only knew which park it was in, so the first gz checked brought nothing and then we came to the second and we knew we had the jackpot. Took about a minute to find.
It was so awesome reading the old records. Sadly the days of an essay in the record books have gone, and in the record internet page, it appears to be going the same way. There was certainly some history upon the pages.
The view was admired in some directions depending on the housing density and then we went back to the cars, all with our injuries in the very light rain. A foot, a knee and an eye. But hey I wasnt going back to sydney without this find.
Another favourite awarded.

[font=Verdana]Slow work through this cache series but worth savouring.
Josiey and I started this series with a big day in October 2011. I had almost forgotten about them but went back bit by bit last year to collect the remaining clues.
Eventually I massaged an answer this morning that seemed a most likely spot. I had a big gap at lunchtime, and GZ was near a way point for a large multi that I am working on so I headed out to that locale.
The winter sun was mild and the sky clear, excellent walking conditions, and although I have a bad cold the fresh air did me a lot of good. I walked and jogged a little to just get back to work on time (3pm). The route that I took to walk took me to some great viewpoints and was interesting in its own right. Thanks for the great series Rabbitto.

FINALLY found this thing. So I need to pull my head in and retract some of my previous "didn't find" post...as it seems I didn't notice some of the "clues". I dunno if they're so innocuous as to be unnoticed, or if I was wearing my derping-hat every time I visited these caches or what...
Fortunately, I grew up in this area, so was able to make a pretty solid guess based on the terrain and Flora/Fauna in the photos that people have uploaded. I even found the exact rock that Tank47 is sitting on (dude in the red fuzzy jacket). While that sounds impressive, keep in mind that I did actually map out the 81 possible combinations onto google maps, and then make sensible choices from there. (14th cache being one of them)
/phew. Great view. Nice hike. Yanked the K9 trackable out of the cache, seems it's been sitting there for almost 6 months since Lemmy dropped it off (actually his was the last note that I saw in the log-book....which is pretty full !!! )

(14th cache being one of them)
/phew. Great view. Nice hike. Yanked the K9 trackable out of the cache, seems it's been sitting there for almost 6 months since Lemmy dropped it off (actually his was the last note that I saw in the log-book....which is pretty full !!! )
Thanks Rabbitto.

Well I gotta say there's something not right about this cache. I've done the 12 precursor cache's, and the clues clearly point to what ultimately becomes the 14th cache. Anyone who immediately jumps from the 12-clues and successfully onto the 13th is clearly cheating. There are NO CLUES in the 14th cache (as of today...checked again) to re-direct to anywhere sensible. Some clowns have dumped trinkets into the 14th cache which make me wonder if there USED to be clues in there that have been swapped out!!!
Other members logs, which note the distance of the real 13th from the 14th, don't actually yield any cache.
...I'm at a loss. I also don't know if the 4.5/4.5 rating is genuine or not. None of the 12 previous caches have been difficult (tourist/casual-walker difficulty), and it makes no sense to put the 13th out of reach. (a 4.5/4.5 in my opinion is underground caving or advanced cliff-climbing!!! )
Could someone please clean-up the photo-gallery and get rid of the gratuitously FALSE photos that have nothing to do with the 13th cache !!!?!?!?!
- grumbly-pants....

We found this one long before there were favorites to give to caches and have finally remembered to give another well deserved favorite to this great adventure.
Another great TDC / LLTRA caching night. About 30 or so finds for the night, including some big caches needed for the P81 combinations. The bikes were out for these caches. The night ended up heading down the Mornington Peninsula cleaning up a few more unfound caches. As always, a great night, lots of fun and great conversation as always. Beautiful weather coupled with nice cool temps made a perfect caching night...
This was an adventure. Had a great time doing the other caches in the series. Now, that I have been able to complete this one, it is fantastic. One of my favourite series. Most of the ride up wasn't too bad, but the last bit was pretty crazy for me, but very much worth it indeed. Thanks Rabbitto for the cache and series. Fav point given.

Tonight I headed out for a bit of a short cache run for me before heading off to work. I met up with Trailrunning, Blacklegend and Rebel Acts just north of Dandenong where we picked up a few of the recently published hides as well as a P81 cache. From here we moved south through Seaford where I departed from the gang as they continued on to find a bunch of caches I had already found.
This was a cache I've been meaning to get for ages, and as it turns out so have some of the other guys. Not needed for my P81, but great to collect all the same. With the other caches collected over the years, taking me to mant different places in the ranges, and with final calcs worked out with the other TDC team members, it was great to now be able to make my way to GZ and sign the log.
Finally and well worth the effort. A fav point from me.
Thanks Rabbitto.

The Demolition Crew and the Rebel Alliance (LLTRA) teamed up once again for a night of caching fun on bikes and foot. The early evening was focused on gaining two more squares for the D/T matrix by bike which saw us climb a few big hills in the Lysterfield area. The remaining part of the night’s caching saw us in an area where all could bag a fair number of finds. I must say is getting harder to find such areas with all of us having cleared large areas of Melbourne. This time we headed south to the Mount Martha area of town. And finally I can put this one to bed. I had finished my calculations for this one ages ago, but given the distance, and the fact I'd cleaned out all the caches nearby here, I left it until now. We jumped on the MTB's and rode fast to the base of the hill. The hill took a little longer to climb, but climb we did, and finally sign another cache for the D/T square. Thanks
Whoops, forgot to log the TBs that I dropped in this cache.
Also, I am uploading some photos to my found it log

I have been eyeing off the 13th Cache series for a while and I have never been able to find enough time to do it, or any company to do it with. Exams had just finished so today was the perfect opportunity to come out and do the series with gmj3191. We started at around 9:30am and we were signing the logbook to the final at 5:45pm with a grand total of 17 for the day. Though the predecessors could be in random spots, each brought us to a unique location in spots we never would have visited if it weren't for the series. All hides were located fairly quickly and there was only 1 DNF for the day. While on the trail, I quickly worked out a theory behind the puzzle solving part of it. It turns out I was right, but not how others have solved it.
Well, what an absolutely outstanding series. What else can you say? Our stories for the other caches preceding this epic are in the individual logs, so if you want to read about our adventures before this, go read them .
We sat down for lunch at a bakery in Ferntree Gully and enjoyed a nice pie, while plotting our plan of attack on my special iPad. (Sidenote, I don't know if Android can do what I was doing...) Anyway, a few coffees, a few pies and a few taps of the screen, we soon had an interactive _ _ _ of what to do next . We planned out where to go and after some debate, we were on our way.
About 45mins and 2 caches later, we were close to our first port of call. We parked and began our journey. Little did we know, it would turn from bright light into pitch black while we were out and about.
Along our walk, we got up close and personal with many kangaroos. They were so tame and we were so frightening. I didn't have the greatest camera on me (just my iPhone 4S) so I couldn't get too many good photos. Nevertheless, I shall post the few that I got here.
Soon enough, we came up to our first spot. Hmm... this doesn't look quite right. Nope, nothing here. Lets move on. Little did we know, we were actually 1km from the spot I predicted it to be.
We visited the next WP and yet again, nothing. We then debated over whether darkness was going to fall too quickly and whether we should come back another day. After my persistence (most useful tool a child cacher can possess), the adults decided to keep going .
It was amazing to see how quickly it got dark. We set off in bright daylight and in less than 40mins, we were under the cover of darkness. We continued our walk with a glimmer of hope in the back of our minds that we would be successful after a long day of hiking and caching.
Around 15mins later, we arrived at a magical spot. Could this hold the cache...? No! Well, the first one anyway. I took a few snaps and we then moved on to our final location. This was it. If it wasn't there, we would be unsuccessful in our quest for the 13th kind of domination. Would it be here?
After another quick snap, we closed in on the GZ. Here. Is it here? I turned around the corner and there it lay. The final to an epic day. We had found the 13th Cache! Woohoo!
We took our commemorative photos and read everything we could. Wow Rabbitto, what an evil mind you had at such a young (caching) age! I can't imagine how difficult this would have been back when it was first released. And it was only the second cache you had hidden!
Thank you for an absolutely brilliant day Rabbitto, this one will be going into my top caching days ever and will remain there for a very long time. Of course, a favourite point will be awarded.
Thanks again

Today Lemmykc, his dad James, and I set out to tackle the 13th cache series.
It was fine but cloudy, a little chilly in some parts during the day. We had success with all the preliminary finds finds, although we had a little trouble parking at times, and there were a few muggles out today walking the paths and tracks. The paths through the parks were very muddy in some places. In the more outlying parks in Victoria, the tracks are often made more weather proof with boardwalks or gravel, but in the Dandenongs they seem to be neglected from this point of view, which is a shame as, being so close to Melbourne, they are probably more heavily used than those in the other parks and could stand some improvement.
At each cache we signed the log and photographed the clue, for later use.
After gathering all the clues we adjourned to a hot bread shop in Ferntree Gully for lunch to see what we had.
We came up with a number of possibilities but eliminated all but four. After lunch we drove to a suitable parling location to investigate the four options.
Again we experienced muddy tracks, but not as bad as earlier in the day. Here there was abundant wildlife (trying not to give away the location). and the going was a little easier in the most part. We struck out at option 1, then at option 2, and then at option 3.
When we reached option 4 we were very confident, as it was the perfect location for a cache. The views were terrific, and, since by now it was dark, the lights were gorgeous. We laughed when we saw how the clues were meant to be interpreted as we had no idea, and just bludgeoned our way to a solution. After starting at the first one at 9:30am, we signed the final log book at 5:45pm., a total of 8hrs 15mins, including lunch, two other cache finds, and a DNF at another. Then we trudged the ong walk back to our cars.
A very full day thanks to you Rabbitto.
Please accept a favourite point as your reward.

Hooray. Found it!
I'm pretty new to this game and I found the first piece on the 3 March. Didnt even know it was part of a series so took no notes. Then found the second piece on the 30 March which when I started to get all the pieces.
Mapped it out on google maps and picked the spot I thought most likely, and yes it was! Arrived around 21:30 Sunday night and shouted out "I'm the king of the world", or did I, you may never know.
I'm still not sure if there was another way to work out the correct spot, but I had a fun time finding all the clues anyway.
Thanks for the cache.

Find # 1543
Well, this cache (and series) has been my biggest adventure in Geocaching. I found my first one of the series on 6th Feb 2010 along with my first puzzle piece. I recorded the info on a piece of scrap paper and basically did the same with the remainder of the series.
After I found the last of the first 12, I realised I had several of my pieces of paper missing, so I went back and re visited them all taking photos at each one. This was a big help in working out where the final GZ was (or at least gave me reduced possibilities.
This morning I got up and the weather outside was not looking good, but I needed to find a cache today for my project 366 ambitions. So off I went to the set of co ords I thought were the most likely. packed the bike in the car and off I went. I arrived at GZ after a short ride, I arrived, dropped the bike and a short walk later I had the cache in hand. This was so worth it, what a fantastic view.
Thanks very much to Rabbitto for the cache and fantastic series. TNLN.

YES!!! We finally found it. We have seen some amazing places on the way to this epic finale. The sun was setting and I thought it appropriate to derobe and dance upon the rocks naked. It sounds excessive but it felt necessary. Photos were taken, memories were had. Thank you again for this adventure.
Yay! What a great afternoon to achieve this cache! We saw lots of kangaroo's and watched the sunset
Thank you for the adventure

Still can't find it 13th cache! Saw lots of animals today and a few too many spiders. Please send me a clue!
It is 769 days from the day we first commenced this series!!!
Or 2 years, 1 month, 9 days or
109 weeks or
18,456 hours or
1,107,360 minutes or
66,441,600 seconds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do we take the prize for the longest time???? lol
Anyway it has been a great series that had been left on the back burner until we were close to clearing out our 10km zone and looking for other caches to do. GMelb started getting serious about doing the rest of the series from late last year and today was the day to make the final trek which turned into a Marathon but he cant really elaborate on that!! lol
Once he did the 14th cache earlier today he realised he didn't have sufficient information to absolutely positively solve the puzzle, however he had already managed to narrow it down to 3 likely options which had been confirmed by Team &others whilst at Cape Patterson. The cache was found easily at one of the locations TNLNSL
He wasnt able to hold the cache above his head and shout I'm the King of the World as there were Muggles quite close by ..... I doubt he would have done it anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL He stopped for a while to rest, enjoy the view, listen to the cricket and ring home to celebrate the find lol
TFTC Rabbitto, GMelb has enjoyed the whole series and we are favouriting this final (the real final )
GJMMelb
Edited to add .... ok not the longest, we just read the previous log to ours lol

Finally found after 2782 days since I found six o'clock is stumps on the 23rd May, 2004. Thanks to my daughter who found all the caches again with the new pieces. Put our heads together and still came up with the wrong co-ords. A bit of sleuthing and she found it a couple of weeks ago and I visited today.

The car was full of kids, the trailer also full, so when we pulled into the Walmart car park I was very happy to know that this would be a simple LPC find, drove the car up to the lamp post and leaning out of the window I lifted the skirt and grabbed this cache. So good to be able to do this without even getting out of the car... who in their right mind would want to do complicated caches involving 12 preliminary caches, some requiring a good walk? Who would be happy to find a cache that had a nasty (yes, nasty!) puzzle directing you to many red herring caches? What person of sane mind would do a cache that most likely required you to return to many of the preliminary caches to gather further information? No one would want to do that!
So.......
61,077 hours since we found our first 13th Cache preliminary cache (Four LL’s) on 8th Jan 2005 (2,544 Days ago) I found our 19th Rabbitto cache, and our 54th Mystery cache (surprised that we have found so few!).
It has indeed been a long road, our first 13th finds were opportunistic as I turned on the GPSr while we were enjoying a walk in the hills. My first real attempt to complete the series was almost three years ago when I found 10 of the preliminary caches and was beaten by the puzzle. It wasn't until a discussion with Rhinogeo at the cricket a couple of days ago that I decided to pull the puzzle back out and finish it off. I set out this morning with a hope that my deduction was correct, the rest of the Facit-Family declined to join me in case I was wrong as they weren't willing to spend all day wandering from possible location to possible location!
Luckily my theory was sound and I arrived at GZ to find a nicely hidden large cache. Sat and enjoyed the satisfaction of knocking this cache off my list and to achieve a milestone with this cache marking our 1000th find. So more stats (I know you like statistics Mr Rabbitto!) We started caching 2796 days ago and today was the 305th day that I've gone caching, we have found lots of fantastic caches in the almost 8 years of playing and have rarely had a bad day. Caches like The 13th Cache are what we look for in caching, not so much for the puzzle, but for the overall experience.
Thanks Rabbitto, a cache worthy of it's reputation.

Three weeks ago, almost to this hour I called my muggle friend in want of a catch up. I asked her if she had heard of geocaching and if she was free the next day. What better way to catch up than a day out, finding a geocache series?
What started as a enjoyable day out, became an obsession, for the both of us, we spent tireless hours trying to work out the puzzle. We went to two red herrings before I did some sleuth work, decided where the cache ought to be and then manipulated the coordinates to fit the ideal location.
On our last attempted coordinates (before we threw in the towel and gave up forever). I spotted something that looked like plastic, and there it was!
Thank you Rabbitto, for taking us on a wild goose chase, for the aching limbs (and lungs) and the breathtaking views. What a well thought out series, I would have never guessed the approach to solving.

Find #1000 at 7am
We wanted a notable cache for our 1000th, so over the last few weeks we've considered which one to do. The 13th cache certainly was on the shortlist, but being a bit worried about doing the necessary preliminaries and puzzle solving, and matching that up with our climb to 1000 meant I wasn't to sure about it.
However, a day off work last week meant that the alpha male and female Happy Chappies could enjoy a lovely day in the hills, exploring the preliminary caches. This was done joyfully and much appreciated, even if we didn't get them all done on the day.
The next 3 were finished off later in the week on a pre-work training run in the hills. Then it was a matter of the puzzle......
Can I say, I had (and still have) absolutely no idea how to do this puzzle! I tried a few things which gave a set of coordinates, but that was TOO easy and the coordinates just didn't look right... Plus people's logs of red herrings, multiple visits to caches and other bits of information had me completely bewildered and worried that I wouldn't be able to find this for the 1000th.
However, some bits and pieces of info out of the logs started to give me some ideas so I engaged in some further sleuthing. Examining logs, the cache page, other caches, tracking cachers patterns and soon an area stood out which looked terribly likely. A few sets of coordinates matched with that so I plugged in a grid of them and planned an adventure.
So this morning, up at 5.30 for another early morning training/cache run. Parked the car at 6.30 and headed off. Had the park all to myself except for MILLIONS of muggles - but fortunately they were of the furry, bouncy variety. (And heaps of butterflies too) Said 'morning' to many and continued the jog/walk to GZ. As I approached GZ some things started to feel familiar from logs and photos and I knew I must be onto a good thing. Followed the arrow down to a likely looking spot and after a very short search, there it was!! Found on the first go No red herrings for us....
Signed the log, did the necessary triumphant cheers and experiencing of smug feelings, and took a celebratory photo... Then some time left to enjoy the glorious view on this quiet morning. Thanks not just for this cache and the whole experience but for bringing me here - I've always considered coming here but never had an excuse to - But this has been the perfect excuse and a great experience to enjoy this park with.
After enjoying the view for a while I headed back, finding the park much busier (about 30 cars in the carpark now!!!) as I returned to the car. Now home for celebratory croissants and vodka/orange... Well, why not You don't get 1000 caches every day, and you certainly don't experience caches like this every day!
TFTC Rabbitto...
Great to finally finish this series.

It all started with an email from Myles 10 days ago: "Are you doing anything next Sunday 24th July. If not do you want to have a crack at The 13th cache series"
Sure why not? Caching in the hills and having lots of fun along the way sounds like a brilliant idea. We started early from Elwood and arrived at the first cache-site around 9:15. Clock is ticking! Right after the first puzzle pieces we had a suspicion how this will work out. We kept on caching during our lunch-break we were quite sure that we found the solution. So we kept on searching till the last PVC-tile to confirm everything too easy.
A few minutes before 16:00 we arrived at GZ and Myles did the honours to retrieve the cache The whole adventure took us 6:40 h, left Myles with a very dirty car and us with completely soaked feet.
I really enjoyed this series and spending a rainy but nice Sunday with Myles caching!

Well Rabbitto, what can I say or where do I start.
An intrepid day of mud, km's, rain, hiking, mud, lunch, puffing billy, kangaroo's, mud, creeks, bridges, rainforest, mud, cockatoos, rocks, muggles, oh and did I say mud.
The morning started of grand and ended with a lot of relief and a great sense of achievement.
Every little aspect of the day was great.
The climax was worth every minute of the effort.
Highly recommended series that I'm glad to have conquered.

Found @ 1.20pm Find #570
Once back at home I started to crunch the numbers and everything kept pointing to the first set of Co-ords that I had discarded. Well I would have to rule this location out before rechecking the muggle infested caches
So today the whole of Team Oaky decided to come along for the ride, GeoMTBs loaded on the car and lunch packed we set off in search of the 13th cache
Really enjoyed the ride to GZ and to my surprise the 13th cache was found in the first place searched while the rest of the team caught their breath. After much celebration, dancing, and tears of joy while the rest of the team looked on bewildered the log was signed over lunch on a lovely sunny afternoon.
So glad to have left this find for another day as this place deserves a full day to explore
30 hour after finding the first puzzle piece I can now lay this series to rest.
Excellent caching experience Rabbitto
Thx for all the hard work that must have been put into it over the years
Ps I think this makes Team Oaky the FTF of the re-worked puzzle

Coordinates solved, but bad weather and limited time ment no suitable opportunity to find it before returning to Sweden. Next time, probably in 2 years

Yay!!... Found it on my first attempt/guess of the GZ coordinates.
This has been a epic cache series for me which has taken many hours would say at least 20.
I started collecting the clues when I first started caching in Sep 2010, and was actually one of the first caches I found. So completing this series has been on my radar for quite some time.
There were a few revists to check and recollect the clues along the way and many thanks to Rabbitto for sending me the missing clue details for Two Passing cars.
What can I say but an excellent cache to complete the series.
Many thanks Rabbitto for such a clever cache series.

We have found it AT LAST!!!!!! .................................
After many many kilometres visiting each cache at least twice to check the details, two false caches, lots of walking especially in wet and muddy conditions, picking up the odd hint from pevious logs, and in the end just some plain guesswork (deductive reasoning), we finally arrived at the 13th Cache - what a journey.
Enjoyed all the wonderful new parks we didn't know existed. Do we really thank Rabbito OR NOT .......................

The 13th cache…. an epic task was completed today! What a relief!
I came across this series a while ago by pure chance, when exercising on the 1000 steps trail with friends, and when feeding the birds at Grants Picnic Ground with the kids. Both were prime locations that we visited regardless of the caches. Collecting these first two clues made me curious about the other 10 caches. Would any of the locations be able to keep up with my first two? And how tricky would it be to find the bonus in the end?
A few weeks ago I specifically toured the Dandenongs to collect all the missing clues and – yes, some of the locations were truly amazing. Unfortunately there was no puzzle piece in Two Cars Passing. But Rabbitto generously offered the missing information, and even a little bit more. The chase for the 13th cache could begin. Only had to make the puzzle pieces fit.
I had a pretty good idea where it should be, but ran into 2 red herrings first. Managed to shortcut another mean dead end in the search and finally came up with coords for a place which I certainly hadn’t expected to be the final location. Today’s weather was not ideal to complete this search for the ultimate box, way too hot. But I was determined and had brought the bike with me. I’m sure Rabbitto and previous finders can appreciate my feeling of victory when I finally reached the spectacular hide.
Thanks for the whole series, and especially for the grand finale. I enjoyed (almost) every minute of it.
p-boro
P.S.After completing the weekend logs this turned out to be #1300, how very appropriate.

We all really loved this series, thanks Rabbito, you led us up the garden path at times but on the great journey we discovered some fantastic places, saw some native animals and shared great times.. Along for our journey at various times were LeanneH, TopThat, Mr_X_02, StreetO and Diablo1234.. TFTC SL TNLN dipped TB's Find # 400..
Great locations to get to this one. What a challenge. Help from a friend StreetO. Found as a group StreetO, TopThat, Mr_X_02, Spaldem, LeanneH. TFTC
A wonderful journey on the way to getting to this one, Saw a lot of native wildlife and had some nice walks. After the first 2 guesses to the location of the 13TH cache turned out to be incorrect I plotted out all the possible locations on a map. After looking over the map for a while I was fairly sure of the location and I was correct this time.
Thanks for the great adventure.
Thanks for the great adventure.
Well how interesting was that?
As a novice and having done around only 10 caches before the start of this epic, it was a tough learning curve. I had to visit each of the 12 caches twice. The first time round I had my family with me and it was a pleasant day out with a picnic to get the first 9 pieces, the other 3 I did on my bike a week later. Figuring out all the options for 12 pieces gave me a matrix of 18 x 18 with duplicate numbers removed = 270 possible coordinates. A bit of common sense and off I went blundering through the bush for days with a batch of co-ordinates. No 13th cache but I did find two of the false caches and I did see places that I would never have gone to in a lifetime.
After a re-think, a few hours going over a map plus Google Earth and I had a new batch of coordinates to go at. The first co-ordinate today was correct, I had my kid's with me and we were all delighted with the find and the trip to the cache. Unfortunately I didn't have a pen with me and there wasn't one in the cache to record in the log book, so I've added the photo I took of my kid's holding it up in the air as proof.
Great, active fun, I've loved this last week working on the logistics of the location.
I'm looking forward to the next multiple cache.
Cheers

A quick, easy find. TNLN, SL TFTC.
Nah.... cache deserves so much more than that.
727 days it took from go to woah on this one - that is 3 days shy of 2 years. We knocked the 12 others off in about 5 hours way back on 5th Jan 2008 but, as correctly predicted by The Waskly Wabbit himself, we assumed the 'hints' were this and that and basically got the whole thing wrong, confirmed by the discovery of Rabbit scats at places we thought were GZ. However the slightest of hints followed by a few hours of detective work and here we are.... signing off the log for the 13th Cache.
BTW we are staking claim for the FTF..... for the decade that is. Where's our $10 Bunnings voucher?
All in all, a great walk with great views to cap off what is a pretty great cache. Now to spend the next few hours picking the grass seeds out of our socks!

After collecting all 12 clues today, we turned to each other and said "let's go get the 13th". It was then we realized we did not have the cache notes for the last in the series. Very disappointed to have not completed the series in the one day, but did get some good exercise on a rather hot day.
It was time to make that final assault on the 13th cache - armed with a set of co-ords that I was confident with, a torch and an umbrella, I was ready!
We’d found the first piece back in June '06 (our 11th cache find and first geocoin discovery), with the final two pieces being found in March '08 (480th and 481st cache find) - so it's been well overdue finding the elusive 13th! Have we set a record? - 1119 days and 4 hours from first to thirteenth. Anyway, thoroughly enjoyed all the preliminary caches, and despite the threatening weather tonight, absolutely revelled in finding the final. Cache and contents in excellent condition considering they hadn't seen fresh air for 6 months. TNLN & SL at 9pm.
Thanks Rabbitto for the cache - I've purposely made this one find #999, with find number 1000 being reserved for the cache that effectively started me on this activity (No Bull - GCT2TX), after which I will not be caching for some time. So it was with mixed emotions that I walked away from my 2nd last GZ for a while, and it was at that moment I spotted a fireworks display way in the distance over the city lights. Quite fitting.
Wishing you all the best, and of course, TFTC’s
Regards, Dean (38 degrees south)

Nice easy find, TFTC.
Ha! I wish I could say that.
2 days
1 tank of gas
1 pair of trousers (split)
1 marriage (just kidding, but I was on my own on day 2)
6 litres of water
but I still think it was worth it in the end.
Rabbitto, your ears must be burning!
Phrases such as "myxomatosis is too good for him", and "I never liked South Sydney" were often heard over the last two days.
This was a very well put together cache, and I enjoyed it immensely. No swaps, thanks for the cache.

After spending the day around the area collecting clues I sat down and came up with a potential final location. Upon arrival, it was clear that I was mistaken..... another location calculated and again buzzzzzzzzzt.
Some more traveling and thinking and buzzzzzzzzzzzzt
By this time I was wishing I had a vial of myxomatoses. You are evil Mr Rabbitto
Time to head for home so with my head hanging low I declared that I was beaten and the 13th would have to wait until another day.
Thanks Rabbitto for twelve lovely caches and one nasty piece of work
I will return (in a new pair of boots as those too were casualties of your caches) it was fun.....for the most part

We found it!! We found it!! Yay!!!!!!!!
It took us a week and 2 days, to visit all 12 caches, figure out the puzzle, and find the elusive 13th cache, all in between little kid afternoon sleeps and rainy weather. We didn't have to revisit any caches and only had one misguided search for GZ (should have known better ), before we solved the puzzle.
GZ was a great spot, as were many of the other locations throughout the series. Thanks for taking us on this tour of the area. This was an incredible puzzle that was well worth the effort and provided great fun. Thanks heaps for your amazing work Rabbitto!![^]
Took Christmas Tree decoration to hang on the tree annually to remind us of our conquest.
Left Ceramic Teddy Bear figurine.
Definitely signed the log book!!
Thanks again for all the fun.

Oh boy! - done it AT LAST after driving & walking countless k's over the past month. I hate to think how much time I've spent even after getting a little help. On reflection, I was my own worst enemy on this epic - too many initial assumptions and not enough care taken! - it became a bit of an obsession in the end.
I really admire the people who seem to have managed to complete the 13th cache in only a couple of visits.
Hats off to Rabbito for a lot of fun and even more frustration and many thanks for introducing some terrific locations.
GZ is truly spectacular- though funnily enough I walked thru the area only a couple of months ago (If only I'd known!)

Maintained some parts of this cache today. Thanks to Tank47 for bringing this to our attention
Wow! At last - what an effort. I found the first 12 caches between May and July - mostly on foot on Saturday mornings. Must have walked a few hundred km all in all! Having collected what I thought would be all the clues, the solution seemed obvious. Unfortunately, it was a dud as were the next half a dozen possible but wrong solutions. Fortunately, along the way I got a good hint as to the approximate location, and armed with the collected data and the usual tools, I was able to assemble a short list of possibilities. Got another good hint from a reliable source and finally nabbed it. I never quite solved the puzzle as Rabbito intended, but I recon I paid my dues.
The first 12 caches were all great, but the 13th was as one might expect, was the best. Thanks Rabbito

The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, could have done with a rainbow today. It was a touch warm today(Bloody HOT!),for a walk to GZ.I enjoyed finding the first 12 caches, then when it came to this one, with it's up and downs,I thought, I should just be happy with those 12 caches(You're joking). With all that blood & sweat(No Tears)there was no way I could just give up,even with a red herring in the mix. Even spending 3-4 hours in the wrong spot on Sunday(17/02/2008),I was determined not to give up. It was finally great to find this cache,I am the king of the world for now!!!!!
Took Travel Gnome & Civil War Series Geocoin. As they have been in this cache for 24 days, who knows how long before the next find.(besides the were getting bored).
Left the pigs and the big pineapple magnet.
The hint for my fellow Geocaches is determination, then you too, could enjoy the rewards.
Found at 1620 hours.

Found at 1200. Having had the Australia Day weekend off, I decided that some caching was in order, and the cache that was at the top of my list was 'The 13th Cache'. After finding the 12 puzzle piece caches in about 5.5 hours yesterday, I thought things were going well until it came time to find the '13th'. After thinking I had the coords correct, I set off for 1.5km which looked like it was leading me to 'no mans land'. After sitting down again and trying to work out a logical set of coords, I rang Pprass to confirmed that I had probably not worked out the right coords, and that a revisit to most of the caches was in order. So after I picked my heart up off the ground, I set off to revisit as many caches as it took to find 'The 13th Cache' before it was time to head home. So at 1200, 'The 13th Cache' was in hand, which was made even better with the walk to get to GZ and views up here. They were fantastic.
Thankyou Rabbitto for making this Australia Day weekend a memorable one. Not only did I get to complete a fantastic and clever cache, but I got to see some beautiful and interesting locations that I would have never of seen. No wonder this is one of the most recommended caches.

I refuse to put this as a did not find - it ended up being out of our control!!!
We decided to do this before the fire-bugs got in and killed off our chance of doing this epic cache. We didn't start til 2.30 and had all 12 under our belt by 9ish. We were pretty impressed.
Both of us had a different theory on how this worked so we followed Geo-blokes theory first - with varied success!
We then went and got pizza and had a bit more of a think about it and decided we knew where the cache was. WE got to the place and low and behold the road we needed to go down was cut off with fire engines and police due to - you guessed it a fire bug who had started 5 fires in the space of 1/2 an hour.
Once we got home and read a few more of the entries -I reckon we were probably in the wrong spot anyways - back to the drawing board (or google maps more precisely!)
Our wish of completing this in a day was not for filled, but we had so much fun on this stinking hot day (better then sitting at home and watching the cricket (Geo-chick still had to endure it on the radio though!!!))
Really looking forward to working this out and it's kept us a wake for half the night thinking about it!
We decided to do this before the fire-bugs got in and killed off our chance of doing this epic cache. We didn't start til 2.30 and had all 12 under our belt by 9ish. We were pretty impressed.

Found with Bewilderbeest in the fading light on our last day in Melbourne. What an experience. Despite my cursing I was secretly pleased that the 13th wasn't straightforward. One of the most challenging parts was finding our way back to the car in the dark having forgotten to pack the torch. I do enjoy a challenge and this series certainly delivered. Thanks Rabbitto for the unforgettable, epic this turned out to be.
