TFTC! 14 October 2024 1:00:16pm 8597 thanks to jaamc_3335 for the cache! Beautiful views today and notice to be the first to sign the new log sheet!
New coordinates were spot on. Had to take a walk down the beach and come back with fresh eyes to spot it though.
We were on low time but with multiple people we still couldnt find it, oh well
While observing the Aurora I managed to do a sneaky cache maintenance in the dark. It's all in good order - ready to found Happy hunting
Cache DR has been updated slightly. The cache remains the same as the last previous placement of a bison, due to the ever evolving sand dunes, this is what works best at GZ.The GPS bounces around A LOT out here.
Coordinates changed from:S 38 26.637 E 144 51.259Coordinates changed to:S 38 26.640 E 144 51.265Distance from original: 33.8 feet or 10.3 meters.Sand dunes change daily and I have tweaked the placement slightly to compensate.
This cache is now replaced and good to go in the ever evolving sand dunes of Gunnamatta beach.
I will get to this cache maintenance within the next week to get it back online ASAP

7 of us scouring the dunes and unfortunately couldn't find it. Will try again next time we are down here
We had a DNF here a while back and noticed the cache had been rehidden, so given we stopped at St Andrews Beach brewery for lunch decided to come back for another look.It was a long search and we were about to give up before I finally found it! Very happy to get the smiley here at this great location. TFTC!
Almost gave up on this one! Went out looking as the sun was setting…. Saw someone else had found it today and thought surely we can find this one! Then finally one of us did!!
Found with jackst2000

This one has a stumped this time right on Sunset,we will pop back and try our luck next time.
An early start this morning to search out a few caches in this area. Fortunately not too much rain, and after a few minutes of poking about, I spotted the little container.
All in good dry condition.

Thanks Team Crackers, second time lucky. Despite the winter rain I was able to locate the GZ after a medium length search using previous logs to assist. I used to be a lifesaver at big Gunn for a couple of years so thanks for an excuse to come back. Giddy up
It took some searching and review of past activity to come up with the prize TFTC
I could have stayed all day, just chilling with those beautiful views, but we were on a mission, a Fee-fi-fo-fum sort of mission.
A slight detour to our mission bought us to this destination and while this particular hide could have been a lengthy search, we were fortunate that as I moved some foliage, Steve spotted the cache. Obviously I’m taking credit for the find:)
Thank you Team Crackers for placing this cache and to Jaamc_3335 for adopting and maintaining this old timer of a cache. Stunning location.

Didn't want to let this one beat me.
Came back.
Scoured a 10m radius around ground zero.
Nothing.

It wasn't there we were searching for ages and if you could send a photo/video of were it is so that I know if it was/wasn't there
Although I grew up on the West Coast, the similarities in the sand dunes, terrain and vegetation are astounding!
Fortunately though, no Dugites here. In fact, other than a few birds and a school of surfers in the water, very little signs of wildlife.
Oh, did I mention the two muggles standing mere metres from ground zero when I arrived.
Soon enough they wandered off and I had this section of the dunes all to myself.
Sat down and... oh look, there it is! Stamped, photos taken, returned, ready for the next finder.
Thank you for placing this cache for us to find Team Crackers.
Thanks also to Jaamc_3335 for keeping this old cache in the game.

>Most definitely worthy of a Favorite Point!

Not sure if this is where the cache was moved to or from. Beautiful beach walk anyway.
Found, was difficult but found it, wire snapped when put back from being so brittle, tried to reattach with hair tie so it wouldn't get lost
Took a while to find but got there in the end. We had to look at some more hints to get there but we did it
Great to be out walking this way along is beautiful coastline thank you for placing
Out for the day with Xambo4u.
This one was between 6 and 10 m out from GZ.
Out in the open. No need to dig around the scrub too much.
If you're having no luck with the scrub at GZ, maybe head a little bit closer to the water.

Stopped to take photo still had 6mtr to trying to work out which direction to go and thought I'd check the hint. I looked down and it literally was right in front of me thanks for hide.
Lots of surfers out today filling in lockdown blues.

This previous dnf was one of the closest to home and seemed like a good compromise to get at least the base camp souvenir in the challenge I cant partake due to restrictions.
The awesome location helps ease the frustration a bit and I'm glad the whole geo family joined today.
Thanks Team Crackers and Jaamc_3335 for contributing to the game and peoples mental health.

Came for a fish but no luck so decided to go for a cache or 2 instead took a bit of searching but brother found in the end tftc
We searched and searched. Hope we didn’t disturb too much of the wildlife and vegetation! Sadly a DNF but a beautiful walk anyway. And those views x
Yay! Son didn’t give up and found it on a different hilltop a good 5-8 m off GZ. Very happy kids! Tftc
Right on our Mother’s Day picnic spot! Who would have known? A genuinely beautiful place to spend some time.
Happy New Year . After celebrating the new year last night at Rye, we came down to Gunnamatta this morning for a play at the beach with the family. We walked along the beach from the main drag, enjoying the water. As we got closer we realised we were going to have a steep climb up to the cache. It was quite a climb but good fun all the same. We looked at all the bushes here until we saw something that looked suspicious, and there it was. Found at 11:22. Great views here TFTC.
An early start to the day with a short “overseas” trip from Queenscliff to Sorrento so I had time to do some random caching on my way to catch up with a friend in Mt Martha before heading to a family gathering for Xmas night This took longer than necessary as my phone led me to a wrong area. Eventually it settled so another smile TFTC Team Crackers
A bit of dune scrambling but nothing too serious, and some wicked views! Surf's definitely up at Gunnamatta for the summer. Quick and easy micro under some cache-camouflage. TFTC.
Ooh had some trouble with this one until I found it exposed on the sand. Popped it close by - hopefully safely. Cheers for bringing me to a beautiful spot!
Have visited today and found cache exposed. Replaced with a new cammo bison. Similar position. Beautiful day. GPS said 2M but was a bit bouncy
On the gorgeous coastal walk today I had to give this one a miss after looking around for quite a while both on the way there and back. Hmm, wherever it's hiding, it's not obvious and with no sign post and poor geo senses I had no luck. Still enjoyed the place a lot though, thank you very much for bringing me here.
It took a while to find, didn't seem to be near a sign unless the sign has been removed?
A nice morning stroll along the beach. Found easy and signed quickly making sure no muggles saw me

Out caching with Maceywells. Very wet windy day especially up on the dunes. Took a bit of looking for this one but my geo senses directed me well as phone was telling me different. Getting the lid of was harder than the find. Tftc.
While on a quick trip to our holiday house to check the contents of the fridge, before Australians are placed into possible lockdown soon, my husband suggested a walk along Gunnamatta Beach. I knew there were a few geocaches that I could find.
Everyone along the beach was correctly practising social distancing so it was a quick find once I got to GZ.
Thank you for this cache in a stunning location.

There is no way that I was going to pass up looking for such an old cache. What a perfect placement. Surprised it is still here when it was so obvious. Had a great view of those having wedding photos. Thanks for the original placement and the maintenance of this cache. Thank you.
Very pleased to see that an old cache is still active, especially when it is in such a beautiful place. After finding the cache, we walked along to the other one here and came back to find this cache witnessing a photography session for a wedding. Thank you for bringing us here with this cache.
Out for the day with geofriend. I had a great time finding your cache
Beautiful ocean there .
Team Crackers - Jaamc_3335, thank you so much for placing it.

Out for caching day with geo-friends after CITO and lunch events. I had a great time finding your cache. Awesome views and the beach was so blue! Team Crackers - Jaamc_3335, thank you so much for placing it and bringing us here.
Easy find, beautiful spot to see the coastline. Didn't bring pen. Took photo
Thanks
Thanks
Heading down to the South coast of the Mornington Peninsula for a Friday night caching run.
Lovely listening to the noises of the crashing waves and Hooded Plovers in the bushes.
Found after looking in the right spot. The hint helped as I had it 6 meters away, but it was probably just me in this darkening sky.
Looks like I just missed the new CO, who had been onsite sometime earlier in the day.
Thanks for the cache Team Crackers and Jaamc 3335

Moved back to its original spot- it’s to the left of the sign - but not hard against it! GPS bounces around a bit!
Please leave the bottom buried and remove the top only! Thanks and enjoy!
