A bit of a bush bash to get to this one. Then the mozzies cart you off. All good with the cache. TFTC Crew153
Be careful as there is a lot of broken glass and other such dangerous items around. We found this lid, unsure if it belongs to the cash, but the case is absolutely nowhere to be found in this place is listed in rubbish. We searched for quite some time and found nothing. It appears that some people have been in an out of here maybe squatting or living and it is absolutely feral right now.
Today, my plan was to attend the CITO Event [Hardcore Clean-Up: Attacking the Aquaculture](https://coord.info/GC9YVBX) in Alberton, so I took the occasion of making a drive around the vicinity, as I hadn't really checked out this side of the M1 Highway and Logan River.
I set off a little earlier to find a few geocaches in Stapylton, and then arrived at the CITO to quickly understand how much work was required in assisting the clean-up. Following the CITO, there appeared to be a natural loop of geocaches (including the CDPT - Couchmen & D&Mocha Power Trail) that took me through Woongoolba and Cabbage Tree Point, and then circled around through Steiglitz, Norwell, and finally back to Yatala, where I had a late lunch at the famous pie shop. My drive did allow me to partially complete the *Our Early Settlers* Adventure Lab.
This was a cool out of the way area, and the lower area had some very nice views of the bay. I was the only vehicle parked at this reserve, so I don't think this area gets too many visitors. I took a wander down to the lower track, and then saw the cache container upon my approach. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Crew 153 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 09/2005 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

While attending the CITO in the area today, Peppa and I have joined forces with RoddyC, hatzoff and Imbunda to find a few unfound caches here.
Geocaching takes you to so many interesting and out of the way places that you wouldn't have found on your usual travels. Took the hard way down to this cache but we located it easily.
SL then returned as found. Certainly not disturbed by neighbours here.

Some people go to a psychologist/psychiatrist /counsellor for therapy. Which is perfectly fine and acceptable. I however, opt to get out and emerge myself into a spot of shinrin-yoku, also known as forest bathing. Or at least finding a spot or two in nature to find a cache. And thankfully, after a week or so of drama and stress, today I had a day off. A day to myself. Time for some much needed therapy.
And I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. Time to grab a couple more old caches over the Southside.
I picked this as the starting point, being my furthest point for the morning, figuring I’d head north from here. Well it wasn’t exactly a quick zipf from home but when I arrived at this rather unexpected spot I parked the car and headed down then across carefully to GZ, where I made a relatively quick find, before using the trees to help me make my way back up again to the flat ground.
Thanks for the cache Crew 153.

Out this way, with fng-affl, chasing older hides, this was on our list, had a slide down to lower track, then saw cache out in open, we signed our names, replaced, and camo'ed the cache, Thanks Crew 153, for bringing us out here to a well maintained
Setting out today to grab a few in the Ormeau area. Starting early.
Cache 12 for the day.

Time to start working on some challenges and today was dedicated to finding some older caches prior to attending the Logan catchup event with geo friends hatzofff, RoddyC & grannysmith1947.
Nice and peaceful down this end of the road, good hide found quickly after carefully hanging on to individual trees without slipping down the slope to get to GZ.

I came off second best on this one. Steep decent to GZ. A bit of lost skin! Lost my pen on climb down too so couldn’t sign log. Another great location TFTC
I thought I was done with old caches. Like any old person I scream at the noise leaves make when they brush against each other in the breeze. A couple of newly published challenges reinvigorated the spirit and I planned a few trips around them.
Normally when Mrs Woodyrothwell and I start on a caching mission we stop at Starbucks for a takeaway coffee. The first cache has to have the toilet attribute and when we found the cache I could see, smell and taste the toilet. I told my wife that I didn’t think these ones flushed and she needed to squeeze, and squeeze hard.
There is nothing worse than staring into a long drop when it’s dark. You can only prey there isn’t a snake ready to jump out and grab you on the old fella. There was no smell on the drop toilet but I held onto my penis like my life depended on it. tftc

Great to get a smiley for cache which is so alone. Mozzies out in force today. Found with nene2313 and Tszd4. TFTC
A definite mission to get our hands on this one. Sliding down the hill, avoiding spiders in their webs and the scrambling to reach the catch. All good fun and happy to have it signed.

We made the trek to this cache as it was thought and reported to be a good fishing spot. Nobody there today but we’re not surprised given the number of mosquitoes around. We drop a trackable to start its fishing journey. Good luck. TFTC
Quick find. Very interesting place - Will have to bring the Kayaks back here.

This was the next stop on our drive... didn’t realise how old the cache was until we got here... I was sent down the hill to retrieve the cache, which did result on my butt surfering part way down as tried to avoid a GIANT spiders web... my companions were to busy filming and laughing uncontrollably to help...
The cache was damp, so I dried it out, bagged the log and added some silica to help with the damp...
The highlight of this cache was the huge birds nest on a telegraph pole on the way in...
Thanks Crew153 for bringing us here today... none of us had been here before...

Found with Peppa and 2manytrailers. 2manytrailers and I may have laughed very hard when Peppa fell on his ass making his way down the hill
Dropped in on the way to Horizon Shores. Nearly stepped on a curlew that was laying low and very well camouflaged. Found the right tree on the slope. Thanks for the hide.
Found a smaller tube type container with a log inside added my name tgen trying to make my back down approx 2 mtrs to the left found the 1.2 l container upside down one so signed that one too not sure what the first black container is TFTC LOKKY1
Replaced the log book and relocated to where it is supposed to be. Cache is placed upside down on purpose.
Original plan was to visit the Swedish embassy but we turned around when we saw the line outside.
The landscape here reminded us quite a lot of North Queensland, flat, sugarcane and utes towing boats.
Approached from above, that worked well!

Geodog was excited to run up and down that hill but I took it a lot more carefully. Made it down to the bottom and saw the best contender for the tree I was looking for, then back through the scrub and soon had cache in hand.
I wasn't prepared today so couldn't replace the log. It was dripping wet and I had to pour water out of the container. If I'm back out here anytime soon I'll try to remember to drop in some supplies. Thanks for bringing us here... the woofa loved it

For fathers Day i asked my kids to cache with me. it was a real pleasure to find this one with them.
A day out with the lovely @Net88 chasing oldie caches. This was one of two she had achieved some time previously, and our last for the day. The area seems to have changed since she was here though as Suzee was stopped a good cache circle away from GZ. Once we were overlooking GZ it was up to me to search every tree to 25m radius. All gave me nothing, but with the helpful advice of miss knows a paperbark from a gum tree up there I returned to literally the first tree I searched ... and well, I don't need to say it do I? First law of caching (always in the first place you look, just not always the first time you look there). Nevermind, I have a smilie, and on that note, our day is done.
Thanks Crew 153 for entertaining me at this location.

The road kept twisting and turning and getting narrower and seemed to go on forever. I thought I was never going to get here. The mozzies are atrocious so I made a quick find and got out of there.

New cache placed today.
The access from the bottom now has a gate so access is better from the top but it probably makes the terrain rating a bit higher than listed but i won't be changing it.

This cache has been sitting on my map, annoying me. So, today, with a bit of a plan in mind, I added it to the list for the day. As we followed the car GPS to the closest spot, we saw an osprey nest sitting atop a power pole. When we spotted movement there, we pulled over and watched the not so little baby birds for a while. Eventually, we continued on our way and finally arrived at a lovely park. Looking at my phone, I saw where we had to go. Really? And I can see a track from here! No idea if I could access it, so I made my way down the slope. My phone kept insisting that the cache was "there" but after a search, I knew it wasnt. Hmmm.....that spot over there looks promising. I headed over and soon located the cache. Names added to the logbook, cahche returned to its spot, we headed on our way. On our way back, we saw the entrance to the track we had spotted from above. That would have been easier! Always the way. TFTC
I was out with Selva Girls caching in the area today, and this one was on Selva Girl's list to clear an area. We pulled up near gz, and reading the hint walked over to look at the slope. Selva Girls did the deed and braved the descent while I cheered her on with my pom poms from above. The container was found after a quick search and the log signed. On the way out of the park we saw the entry to the track we had spied from above. Well that would have been easier... [:O)] Tftc Crew 153!
Maybe not ideal for a spot of night caching as we can see we're missing out on presumably great waterside views...It was a steep and slippery ascent to GZ where the moisture-damanged container was found. CO will need to do some maintenance soon as the logbook is wet.
New logbook required and general cleanup of container due to water damage. TFTC!
I had a few hours spare today so decided to drive the 30 mins or so to Norwell and surrounding area to grab some caches.
I slid down the slope here and soon located the cache - the logsheet was a bit wet but still signable. I had a wander down to the water's edge- low tide here today. I was enhoying the tranquility when 4 cars pulled up and disgorged numerous passengers! I enjoyed the drive back to Ormeau - some really old properties here.

O.M.G. The mozzies just went for me even though I was covered in repellent, think it acted as a lure, frantically searched and found and signed the cache.Great discovery of a park and view though.TFTC.
TFTF, log is wet. Tried to sign but just in case I've added a photo to prove I found it.
Had a go. a bit hard to find being on crutches tho. Will be back when im better. And with Heeps of mozzie spray.
Geomum had a nasty slip in the slop. Good job for first aid kits. Make sure you watch your step
Nearly got carried off by the mozzies so you need to be quick with this one! TFTC
I needed a cache for today, so while out with Captain Terror we decided to head to this one. It was a quiet day on the roads and soon we were parking the Subaru off the road. I grabbed my phone and gpsr and headed over to where I had GZ. The Captain thought it was elsewhere so wandered off.
It took us a while of searching even though he had found it before. After about 10 minutes of looking we only had one place left and the container was just peeking out of it's covering. I signed my name in the logbook. The cache container was slightly wet but I dried it out and replaced it as found. Thanks for the cache Crew 153

Out and about in the area with RoddyC gathering a few smileys.
First we would search for the cache.
Then we would eat our prawns for lunch.
Off we headed to GZ.
RoddyC went one direction and I went another.
We all inspected several spots and around and around we go.
Lastly I headed to a spot which I thought might hide the cache and sure enough the cache came to hand.

By this time today we have discovered ten of the CDPT series and a further five of mixed lineage.
We parked at the TOP in the picnic area, and began the search. We slipped and slid, particularly Mrs RoddyC.
To cut a long story short, Team Benders found the cache a LOOONG way "on the slope", Crew 153! It would have been easier to come up from the fishing road below. The muggle fishermen didn't seem too interested to see the three of us going up and down this slippery slope either banging into or closely hugging the trees as part of our antics. [:o)]
Mission accomplished after some 30 minutes of hunting, it was time for us "gatherers" to supply some lunch in this very pleasant mound of dirt overlooking the river delta. Earlier we had purchased some huge fresh prawns, so we enjoyed eating these, much to the curiosity of the Magpie and another smaller bird whose designation escapes me at the moment.
Found at 12.00 on 9th January 2015. TFTC.

No luck for us today, could not locate the cache & no fish either! Lots of mozzies tho.... Used our repellant liberally. Lovely drive in here.
Normally a good place for fishing. Wind wrong direction and too strong so caught a geocache instead. Nice one
Found the cache felt like the terrain should be up a bit more, found from a distance ty got as I have injured toe but I still have done terrain 2 while it's been broken.
What a lovely part of the world this is Out for a caching ramble on a sunny Friday and found myself here. Sugar dust all over my dirty little black cachemobile
Parked up top and stumbled up and down the slope more times than was necessary Cache located and took advantage of the cool breeze in the park at the end of the world to write in my notebook and drink lots of water Loved the drive in here with mangroves on both sides of the track!
Dropped off the little orange man TB! He wants to be by the sea.

I loved the road through the mangroves.
I enjoy driving down little roads to see what is at the end. Only a few mossies today as it was slightly cooler. Thanks Crew 153.

Had to go for a climb for this one lets just say cowboy boots are not meant for step hills.... But we did come out the other end with the cache signed and on our way again found with diamonjs. TFTC
Not sure I wanted to go down there so I elected to drive the car down while Rusty85 went down, then well you know the rest, we had to go up again anyway. Log was replaced with the CO's permission so all good to go again. TFTC
Looked and looked but did not find. We'll come back another day. There were a few people around.

We took some time getting the phones to settle in on this one. Then I read previous logs and decided there was no way I would venture into an area with resident snake. Mr LHE Duo did not hesitate but found the terrain challenging and slippery. Thankfully the log was soon signed and we were out of there.TFTC
This is one spot that I had never really thought about making my to. Seeing the cache and that I was exploring this area inspired me to make the drive. I quite like the little road on the way in, and did not take long to find the cache.

Definitely mud crab territory here and a lovely spot. The McDonalds trash bandits left a nice mess for me to tidy up :/ I might return for a fish one day. TFTC
Last time I was out this way, looking for this cache, I really didn't get to give a proper go. Before I had even stepped one foot from my vehicle I was being devoured by those pesky little blood suckers. I think I gave it a very poor effort at trying to find and then with no Bushmans at hand, abandoned my quest.
Today as Captain Terror and myself drove closer and closer to this location I was having flashbacks and was questioning my sanity at trying it for a second time. I did however have Bushmans at the ready if need be. Thankfully when we alighted from my mighty Spangle, the nasty flying creatures were few and far between OK, let's find this beasty before they sniff us out!
The Captain had taken the lead and was half way up the hill, as I walked through the low shrubbery I heard a bit of a rustle and turned to see the tail of a black snake disappearing into the undergrowth. I very quickly retreated up to higher ground. We wandered along the bit of goat track and I happily spotted the cache. YAY!!!! This is about the time the winged demons cottoned on to our presence and started the relentless war on us. The log was signed as quick as possible and we retreated back to the safety of my vehicle.
Thanks for the cache Crew 153

Out and about with teamdfl for a Freaky Friday, gathering up some stragglers around the Gold Coast After a brief stop at the top we headed down in Bumblebee to make the search a little less precipitous It still took a search in a few different spots before teamdfl called out she'd got it. TFTC, and for showing me this lovely spot, Crew 153.
I had a DNF here a few years ago. back with assistance today ;-P Out on a freaky Friday with IolantheK. Doing a mad tour collecting stray caches here and there. The water was a beautiful green colour today. One fisherman, but well out of sight of GZ. Had a bit of a hunt, but found it eventually.
We made this find a lot harder than it should have been. We got there eventually and found the cache. The cache log book is very wet. TFTC.
Was able to get out for a half day and grab a few finds, almost 20 in the end, including a bit of bushwalking. Good day, wish I had been able to get out for longer.

Thought we would grab this one as we were in the area. Cute little park with beautiful water views through the trees. Coordinates were off about 10 m, so we readjusted our search and soon the cache was in hand. TFTC Crew153!
This is a beautiful area. The day we visited there was a family of Eagles (not sure what type..maybe Wedge Tailed?) circling for about an hour above us. They were diving into the coastal waters grabbing their fish...spectacular. Took a while to find the cache as the coordinates are a bit off. The log book was very wet. Thanks crew 153
