Found Our 2nd trip to Yerranderie. This caches container was too burnt and melted together to be opened so we attached a photo. TFTC.
Floating around while the others use their amazing skills to search for the cache. Log signed and replaced and the scene evacuated TFTC
Found -- 12:08 pm -- Thanks for bringing us to this location and Thanks for the hunt *geost170*.
**Cache Condition:** Good.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
**Trackables:** None seen in this cache today.
**The Cache**
Walkies! An easy walk. Signed the log with our caching names or some scrambled form of *TOC, DJJ, LP* or even attached a cache name sticker, and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found.
**The Adventure**
A group of us wandered off into the rugged wilds from the safety of suburbia. *DustyJapserJet*, *AstheCrowFly*, *10011010*, *Bonfire7*, *Muppet95*, *Mr TOC* and *Little Panther* somewhere in the mix met up at *Mt Werong* where we camped overnight - a nice campground! We enjoyed the company of two wallabies with babies in pouch, that came extremely close to us.
Travel in was via Goulburn and then up *Jerrong Road*, a very pretty road to travel and in good condition. On the way we saw two kangaroos stuck head first in the fence - dead - poor things.
Next morning we cached into *Yerranderie*. The road was in pretty good condition a majority of the way and my 2WD faired well, although there were half a dozen rough sections. At *Yerranderie* I took time to reflect on those who have gone before and the lives that were lived here, a strange feeling difficult to explain overcame me. I love *Yerranderie*. My companions remained in the village overnight while *Mr TOC*, *DustyJapserJet* and I went back to *Mt Werong*. On the way we saw a *Cavalier King Charles Spaniel* dangling dead by one leg from a tree right near the road, recent it appears - who would/could do such a horrible thing.
Next morning we packed up and moved on, but I got side tracked by *The Road Less Travelled* series. Probably a poor choice chasing these down on dirt road - we popped a tyre. With the tyre changed I decide to high-tail it out to the main road. With 2.5km to go all was good and then !@#$%^!!!! - pop - another tyre gone, and no mobile reception. We had no choice but limp to the main road. Even then mobile reception was sketchy, but we eventually found some and contacted the NRMA for a towie. It's Sunday too! A very boring and wasted day spent in a hotel room. It was raining by lunch time. Monday arrived - tyres replaced and we're on our way - HOME!! Many caches collected and a midnight home coming straight to bed. We still had a terrific weekend considering the drama and even though it ate $300 out of our budget to go to the *St Arnauds* Mega.

Arriving into town just about the first thing we did was take the walk down to the old mine, down at GZ we had some troubles locating this one but then it was muppet that came up with the goods. The mine looked interesting but ill pass in going down there.
I was most impressed with our little geobuddy dustyjasperjet on this one for hiking the entire distance on his own!
Thanks geost170 for the cache

Spent the weekend outdoors with friends. I had a very rewarding time - reaching #5000 finds, clearing more of my 50km radius and collecting a range of caches that work towards different statistics/challenges. Thanks to all Cache Owners for their contribution to the game.
We found the caches along the Colong Stock Route and in Yerranderie on Saturday. Made our way down to the mine to have a look. Found the cache after a bit of searching. Coordinates are pretty good. Thanks geost170.

A great weekend camping out with Bertie Lissie, checking out a town I hadn't known existed. Nice walks, interesting history, abundant wildlife, peaceful camping and a couple of geocaches thrown in for good measure.
Another interesting find at isolated Yerranderie while visiting with Sheree63 and Steve.
Don't fall down that hole!!

While Canary & I idled away our morning strolling up the hill, bikerbuddy and the other canaries packed up camp. It was nice to get back and find all the work done. All that was left for us was to go find the last few caches around town.
Coordinates were a bit out, eventually bikerbuddy got tired of watching us not find it, and gave us a pointer.
Thanks

The eleventh of twelve finds on our trip to Yerranderie with Toriaz, bikerbuddy and NickoHeap.
This was found on Day Two after a night in a tent at the campground.
After climbing the peak, Toriaz and I were greeted by a fully packed up campsite!?!
Then it was off to do three quick caches before we left. This was the second and the longest walk. We had to pay to access the private township but it was worth it for the lovely weekend we all shared here.
At GZ a longer then expected search revealed the cache not where I thought it would be!?!
TFTC.

After descending yerranderie peak i drove on in to town and let myself get talked into a bed and shower. I then went for a stroll around the scenic ruins including the mines.
The clue and my GPS both had me looking in one spot where i kept drawing a blank i then expanded my search zone and just as i was about to throw in the towel i spied a little something out of place and was soon signing the log.

After saying our farewells to the Webguys, we walked down to find this cache (they'd already done it a few years ago). It was an enjoyable walk, and with all the signage everywhere, it makes you wonder how many shafts must be in the area. TFTC

After our adventure in the rain climbing Yerranderie Peak on Saturday afternoon, we decided to leave this other 4 terrain cache until the following morning. It turned out that we needn't have worried too much. It may be rated the same, but this cache is an easy walk from the camp site, with only a gentle slope along a well defined track being the most challenging terrain aspect of this cache. The cache took us to another mine site and we found the cache amongst the historic detritus of the area. Thanks
No 3251- While some of the other visitors to Yerranderie last night camped out in the rain, we enjoyed the luxury of a room afforded us by the caretaker who I think thought we may not stay otherwise. With a combustion heater, hot showers, a gas stove to cook dinner, we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 stat stay. Having taken the key back to our new best friend, Ton, the caretaker, we wandered off down the track to do this one, wondering why the terrain rating was so high- we are still not sure, but found the cache easily before we headed off from our overnight, snuggly stay at Yerranderie. Thanks
A lovely hike down to an interesting location. Found with The Trio and Snow.15
Found while on a 4wd trip deep into the Kanangra Boyd National park. Excellent location
Find #1503 - 1 for today. Found on 20/04/2014 10:31 am

I've been wanting to visit Yerranderie for a while now. I finally got.my chance after a trip through Colong Caves. We made camp at Batsh camp from Friday for an early start to the caves and recovery afterwards. Today was a reasonably late start with some people having to go straight home while the rest came to visit the old town.
The short walk from the car helped to stretch our legs before attempting the peak.

An event weekend is all about sharing, meeting and experiencing. This weekend at Yerranderire (GC49DZP) has provided all this and some special caches to enjoy as well.
This cache is a concentration of elements at the centre of so much history.

A great walk in a beautiful area while on the Yerranderie 4x4 Event Weekend. Love the cache name and the hint! TNLN Thanks for the cache!
Found with the group of geocachers camping at Yerranderie after our guided group tour of city, thought we would check out an old mine. TFTC
Having walked around the private town we wandered down to this out of the way mine where after a short search someone in the group came up with the find.
Its hard to imagine this area supporting over 2000 people at its prime.
Thanks

Our fourth one on the trip. Found at 10:04. TFTC, what a nice area full of history.
After an interesting chat with the camp warden and the permission to drive towards the cache as far as we wanted, we quickly headed over before daylight was turning its back on us!

Found this cache while on a scout 4WD camp. The cache did not reveal itself once we got to GZ. Looked at the danger signs about the place and wondered if we will ever get out of here alive. The GPS shifted GZ to another spot and we soon had the cache in hand. On the way back to camp we spotted a Goanna living in a hole in a termite nest. Wow! Never seen that before!

We skipped and we skipped and then skipped it all over again before Fasthopper had found it. Once back at the town the decision was made that we would camp here for the night. We had the whole place to ourselves besides caretaker Tom, who came and sat with us for awhile and had a chat around the fire. Good times.
Found while trekking from mine to mine in this fascinating , historic area... Almost got lost a few times tho.. Lucky was with Edge Creeper who eventually got us back to base camp ghost town where we camped for the night..Tom the caretaker was very welcoming and joined us for a chat while cooking dinner on out camp fire.. Cemetery visit nearby at night is a must if your brave enough
Found it! This was a great little walk on what had been a killer hot day! I tried the most obvious spot first and came up empty. After reading the clue, the find was quickly in hand. Took a plastic carrabina and left a pill box. SL. TFTC

This took a little scrounging to find but it was there and in good condition. Lot's of fun!
Forewarned by a couple of previous logs we relegated the GPS to the pack as soon as we got to the general area. We considered the clue. We considered the surrounds. Soon thereafter we were considering the (very small) cache. Made no swaps here.

After a weekend walking over Vengeance and Axehead Mountain, ventured to this cache on the last leg of the walk. Dipped down from the town after chatting to a family hunting for silver ore. Was about to give up after a small search and had one last look before finding the cache. Unfortunately couldn't spend more time looking around and walked back to the cars for lunch.
A brisk walk in to this one in the company of Webguy from our parking spot in Government Town.
The shortest distance between two points is a straight line and this led us past some interesting artefacts in the bush near old mine workings.
On arrival to the GZ we were confronted by two friendly muggles with mountain bikes, looking for a good track to take. After sending them off on a bit of a wild goose chase, our hunt began.
Never take hints verbatim!
After adjusting our search, Webguy turned this one up pretty fast!
Thanks for a fun cache!

A nice easy walk on some of the trails had us arriving at our destination without incident, nobody fell down any mines, or got stung by killer bees or ants, because after all, the aussie bush can be a scary place.
Arrived and waited out a couple of mountain biking muggles then started our search, hmmm, gave the GZ the box of tricks a thorough checking, then decided it was full of @#$% and looked elsewhere and had it in seconds.
Signed the log and checked out the mines nearby and the nice stone retaining wall and other things.
This one is not that hard, it's just not at GZ.
Cheers

This is our first find in Yerranderie. What a beautiful place. So glad geocaching has lead us here. We had to search a long time to find the cache. It is such a tiny box and we had to use a long stick. Sharpened the pencil.

With signs saying don't molest the sheep, I sent Jumbuck forth...and what do you know, she came up with a virgin. Swapped one of the trinkets for 2 glass balls.
Walked down to the cache location looked all over the place including the skip but failed to find the cache. Looked under, inside and all the bushes around the skip trying not to damage anything. We passed a sign on the way in saying you can be fined for interfering with historic artefacts but not quite sure what interfering means as we passed another sign saying you can be fined for interfering with sheep.
