The road name has changed, making this one harder to solve, and it's probably time to call this a ghost of Christmas past...
Battery's need changing but this is our very first geocaching experience great fun !
This is one of our local parks so it seemed a good spot to check out for our second find. Geokid and I found the music box, but as mentioned previously, no music. The piece of paper that was in there was water damaged and if there were any clues on it I was unable to read it. This sadly brought us to a screeching halt on this one. Being so new there is maybe something we are missing, but for now we will have to pass on taking it any further. Thanks anyway, is still a nice intrduction into this strange new world
I found this one with mum (jasenjanine) ... i love ammo cans [^]. TFTC Bear_Left
Getting into the chrissy spirit this week, we had our hopes high on finding this cache... Thankfully the CO helped us out with the music & then we set about doing some homework We had come up with a couple of solutions although my calculations had us too far away! With a bit of help from a previous finder, we found out that we were onto the right spot after all
Setting out today with our kiddies, we were happy to make an easy find of our always favorite ammo tin [^] TFTC Bear_Left... A fantastic idea for a multi, I hope you can revive this one... We did find another road of the same name & also the same distance away! Only it was in the opposite direction
For the record, our Garmin that never seems to have updated roads on it, does actually have the new name? First time for everthing I suppose MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

As Janine mentioned, we started this cache the other day and didn't have much luck. After a helpful hint we were back on track. After a bit of detective work (and another helpful hint) we came up with a suitable location. 40+ degrees was forecast for today so we decided to head out early.
Once we arrived in the right area we made a pretty quick find.
Although the music box isn't working, I really enjoyed the challenge of figuring this one out.
Thanks Beat left for the cache.

Headed out with MNS13 today with our two geokiddies in hope of finding this cache... We found WP1 ok, but as reported the music gizmo is no longer working We did hope we could get it working but it seems the barrel thing is seized up... Trying to get into the Christmas Spirit was a dismal failure today, but hopefully we can obtain some more information so we can continue on to the Final
We started this puzzle on our last visit to Perth, listened to the music but didn't know who wrote it.
Today we arrived at the correct road, found the sign, went through the fence (literally), did the waypoint,
then walked the track. Thank goodness we found the cache after all that.
It was well covered (hadn't been found for nearly a year) and in good condition.
Thanks for the hunt today, Bear_Left.

Able to work it out & find final location due to previous logs, thanks for the heads up
Located the music box and recorded the music, had the family workout the tune then the composer. Now armed with the road name I headed out to find the sign. That proved more difficult than I had initially thought, requiring more investigation and a look back into history.
The music box worked with out any issues and the sign is in near mint condition and cache is likewise.
Thanks Bear Left.

Thanks Bear Left.
We started this multi last week and then spent several hours trying to locate the correct road location. I drove all around the building areas looking for that elusive sign without success. Today approached from another direction and ignoring road closed signs finally spotted THE sign. A quick bound over the gate grabbing of a waypoint and a gallop along the track for the required distance soon had the cache in hand. Cache and contents still in excellent condition. No damage in this area. Thanks for the cache.
Please note that music machine has started to corrode and required much assistance before it would give up its tune.

Found part 1 easily. Pretty sure we worked out part 2 but there is a lot of roadwork and a new development happening there. I think the sign on the road has been removed. Found the track and searched many trees but as we hadn't been able to set a waypoint it was too hard. Perhaps the clues need to be updated? Thanks, though, it's been fun and we are now hooked!
Third time back, some tell tale signs of activity but no cache. There has been a lot of new tree litter and fallen trees so may have just missed it.
A lot of fun finding part one of the cache. We really like the clue and look forward to working out where part 2 is. Thanks!
First hunt with the Family. Have found the first waypoint safe and well and still working. Looking forward to completing it next weekend! What is most fun is we didn't even know this world existed!
Spent a few weeks doing this one some research done, found the sign and I knew I was on the right path search and found TFTH TSLS SL
What a fun cache. Found the first way point no problem and still working fine. Heard the tune before but no clue either the name or composer so recorded it on the iPhone and then played it to various music buffs. They got it wrong but at least put us on the right track and google did the rest. You learn something everyday. Whilst the name of the road is indeed changed on the signpost, it still says formerly and Google maps still clearly shows the name. An old street directory confirmed we were on the right track and everything else no problem. Grabbed TB. Drop mini Lego Mini fig series 1 #3.
What to do on a 38degree day when its too hot for golf? Of course go geocaching, and choose one in the bush where we had to use an unfamiliar function of the GPS. Loved the first part and when we left, it was still playing its music. Second part got help from Kostovi3 who had a tip from ChrisRG. I'm learning this is the way of geocachers. Yes the road has a new name but the road sign says "formerly........." on it. Thanks for the cache. Loved the challenge. Took Postman TB and left Fly with me TB > Hope it does not stay here too long.
Finally found it after a tip from ChrisRG. Road has a different name in UBD and on signpost.
Finally got to this one. I found WP1 last year but then WP2 was taken out of action before I could get to it.
Took a little bit of searching but finally uncovered it.
By the way, they are changing the name of the road so you may need to change your clue.

Found the waypoint but wasted a lot of time looking for the cache. Didn't find it, kids very disappointed. A lot of roadwork and building in the area, perhaps cache has been disturbed?
We did the first part of the multi on the way up to Perth yesterday, and did our homework last night. We were very happy to see the final was going to be in the vicinity of a couple of puzzle caches we wanted to do today. We just about missed logging the find as the container was very well camo'd with no evidence of disturbance - because it hadn't been found for nearly a year.
Back in action, just in time for Christmas! (Well, just in time before the shops start displaying their Chrissy stuff...)
We've replaced the intermediate waypoint with a projection, at least until we get there and put a new container in place.
I was working in the area this morning and the clue is indeed gone from the sign. It looks like the sign has been reset as it is very loose in the sand unlike when I was here before.
A note of warning. You need to park quite off the road as the trucks don't like you being in their way.

Finally tackled this one, but sadly only got as far as the sign where it appears that muggles have taken the next clue.
after finding the name of the road we were in this area trying to find other caches. found the sign and the next waypoint to an easy gz. thanks for a excellent multi.

Snuck in early for this Christmas cache. We jumped the fence and managed to find the cache before the rain started. Thanks Bear_Left
Finaly went back to get cache, the 1st time we were in a rush with grandkids. Found ok however as previous log mentioned it is necessary to jump the gate now as all the entries are locked.

I came back for another search, to look for the replacement box, and after searching for a little while I found... ... ... the original box
Oops, seems it was there the whole time! Tricky hide.
Got the information I needed and headed off to WP2 after a little research. Quickly found the final coords and walked up to the cache for an easy find.
Cache box is in great condition and some of the original pressies are still in there, wrapped and all! No swaps for me, thanks for an interesting cache Bears!

Just missed Christmas, but it's still within the 12 Days!
If you should happen to find a nice little wind-up music box instead of a silly-sounding electronic one at or near the listed coords, please let us know!
(We think that one's gone missing, but you never know...)

Yes, the grass tree is no more.
Bother. Memo to self: for caches that rely on a specific item, always BUY TWO OF THEM while you can!
I've found a replacement, albeit a horrible electronic version instead of the lovely tinkly mechanical one, and will have it in place nearby, hopefully before Christmas!

Well, I didn't even get out of the starting blocks for this one. Searched the area at WP1 unsuccessfully and didn't find the music box.
GZ had me in the middle of an open area where the remains of a grass tree were laying about.

Found wpt1 after a long search last week. We had given up and on the way out Mrs AusTrackers jokingly said "have we searched here?" about a place we had both searched numerous times, and with one last quick look the waypoint was exposed. Found wpt2 and then the cache without any problems today, although there is now a fence around the parkland and a gate with, would you believe, six padlocks on it! TNLN. Thanks B_L for a most enjoyable puzzle and cache.
Managed to get back to this one, almost a year after coming here for the first time. Works in the direct vicinity of GZ have finished and the cache was an easy find in a very natural hide.

Came to grab the geocoins that they have been sitting for a long while - to move to the other caches.
Visited the cache at 6:40 pm to leave a couple of Geocoins here. Maybe that will entice some cachers to come and find this nice cache! Took nothing.
Left - Gigglygeckos 'Suncatcher' Geocoin to move along.
Left - Ursulas 'Dahemm im Saarland' Geocoin. This is Ursulas 1st Geocoin she has released. We hope it travels well. Cheers! Mal

#3 of 3 finds on my last night in Perth. I was cleaning up caches that I had made a start on earlier in the week. I found the preliminary cache last night, so I was keen to finish it off before I went home. I now realise that I had not driven down this street last night, but had seen a similar sign on another street bordering the park. I don't feel so bad now. Anyhow, I found the right sign tonight, extracted the coordinates for the cache, and headed off. I had an easy find at 1955, because the cache was partially exposed. Loved the 'camo'! [^] I hid it better before I left, so the next finder won't have it as easy as I did. I made no exchange. Thanks to Bear_Left for another enjoyable cache. Only one question remains: just who is Mr Smith? Cheers, dak.
Work in Progress. I visited the advertised coordinates, found the music box, and identified the tune. I didn't know the composer, but I expected that. Later in the night I actually passed a sign that looked suspiciously like the one I remembered from the cache page. However, the road had what I thought was a very unlikely name, and I concluded that such signs were probably common for all regional parks around the area, and I had no reason to suspect that this would be the one. Now that I'm back at my hotel room, and I've identified the composer, I realise that it was the correct sign! Aaarrgghh! If only I had checked the big red arrow, on the off chance . . . [B)] Oh well, at least I know where to go next time. Cheers, dak.
A great little puzzle cache. After working out the co-ordinates to waypoint 2 last night, we went looking for it today. Found waypoint 2 at the sign, then enjoyed a short walk to GZ and found the cache easily in its cozy little hidey hole. TNLN. Thank you Bears for the puzzle and cache.

After an afternoon of caching, we searched for this poor unloved cache on the way home. The listed co-ordinates were a bit out for us, but we found the hidden waypoint after a short hunt. The container and contents (musicbox) are still in great condition. Had a listen to the tune and Ursula knew what it was, but it was back home to good old Google to find out the required information!
Back at home we soon worked out where we think it must be, and it's certainly within the 9kms mentioned if that's what Urch meant. Unsure of this until we actually -find- the cache! Time will tell. Hopefully we can finish this one soon. Thanks for the great little puzzle Bear_Left.

Found with little difficulty, other than wondering about the distances mentioned. Great to have a relatively 'simple' find after tackling, with no success, a shocking one elsewhere...
A very pleasant early Christmas present. TNLNSL Thanks very much for the hunt.

Found this afternoon, I was able to go out and find the next set of co-ords which I did then it was off to the final location.
I found that one and had a look at the items inside but left them for the kids to come.
Thanks

The puzzle stumped us for a few hours over a quiet meal but then google came through. Always thought and even got taught londg ago in school that it was someone else, but now I know different. TFTH T cards L Australian penny.
Ok so "The artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince" wasn't the composer. Anyone could have made the same mistake. Luckily alls well that ends well.
PS. Did it just happen to me or did all surrounding background noises cease the second the tune started playing thus making me feel extremely conspicuous and hastily reboxing the offending item and making throat clearing (covering-up type) noises?!

Found the cache. I think it was great idea for geokids I am sure the geokids are so happy to receive a present. My great nephew will come to Perth this weekend. So I will take him go there and exchange present. Dropped TBs. Thanks for organised the cache.
This is something we learnt as who was the author – although we know the verse of the song except its author. Thanks for the lesson. Found it on the spot straightway. These surprised presents for Geo kids are wonderful. No swaps. Thanks for great cache, Bear_Left.
Since I had no idea what the 'seasonal tune' was, I thought I would be clever: Download a list of tunes and who wrote the music. That way it would be one trip, wouldn't have to come back – Listen to the tune, look at the list, find the author and thus find the road! Brilliant! Well, that tune wasn't on my list – I think I'll just stick to putting the coords in the GPS and following the arrow! TNLN Thanx B_L for another interesting cache.
Found the first waypoint easily. Needed a little clarification from PBL before moving on to the second waypoint and the cache.

18:20 Well, the things you learn. I didn't know who I always thought was the composer is infact not so. Anyway, after learning this I found the rest easy except I left my bloody glasses somewhere around the cache and it was dark by the time I returned but I think this actually worked in my favour as they lit up when the torch beam hit them. Last week 3rd generation(Amy) went Christmas shopping. We went to the 1st waypoint then called a friend who gave us the wrong info. With the help of a hint I did the research again. yesterday Amy found the cache and swapped her present. She was very exited about this cache. Thanks Bear_Left.

Christmas came a little early this year (yay! finally notched up my 150th cache) but I left the presents for all the other little good boys and girls. I'll reward myself later.
Was very thankful for the location of a public library with free internet access not too far away from the first musical waypoint so I could research the tune otherwise I might have had to come and finish this one another day.

I called into the 1st waypoint yesterday but didn't work out where waypoint 2 was until after I arrived home in the evening. A short drive this morning proved my guess to be correct and the cache was mine after a short walk. On the way back, I sussed out several local spots for new cache sites. TN-LN-SL. If this had been published just a few minutes later then I would have missed it until later this evening as I was going out to fill the car with fuel and then onto a couple of local caches.
