Find #218

Found this one on a trip back from Richmond. Cute little spot pretty much hidden out of the way. Interesting to learn about the river diversion and the quarry. Easy find though I think it had been muggled so logbook was wet. I've tidied it up and let the CO know.

01-May-14
Found this one almost 12 months ago when I came down to try out the bouldering wall. I just realised I haven't logged it. I thought the area was familiar lol thanks

11-Apr-14
Bucket St James are visiting here from the US for a few weeks. This was one of the many we found today. I have admit driving to all these caches on the left side of the road is a challenge, but I safely got back to our hotel at the end of the day. Tftc!!

11-Apr-14
A good start to our day, Geo-LMP safely delivered us to the first parking spot. Adjusting to driving on the left side is quite a challenge! At least we didn't have to make any J hook turns to get to this cache from our hotel. Thanks for a fun start to our day. Interesting to see a big slurpee advertisement as we were walking back up the hill to our car. Picked up some travelbugs. Thanks!

Introducing friends to caching. Took the amethyst pig!

26-Feb-14
Found at 2235 while SirJ-Oz stood back & watched. I almost followed the GPSr compass into water before I decided it was an unlikely spot, then as I worked my way around to an alternative location a random search had the cache in hand - and only then did the GPSr say "oh, it's here". Nothing quite like retrospective accuracy in navigation! Signed the log and dropped off a maze pathtag, then tucked everything away again and moved on. Thanks for the cache caughtatwork.

25-Feb-14
I gave up on a couple of caches today because of my mugglephobia so it was great to get a cache I could retrieve and log with no muggles in sight . Removed an inappropriate item from the cache and left a GC fridge magnet . Also I didn't see any trackables in the cache . TFTC.

Found this one today. I initially was looking in the wrong place but once I reread the clue and collected the vital bit of information the cache was found in the first place I looked. This place is amazing - thanks for bringing me here. Signed log but didn't swap anything. Ziplock bag is getting a bit tired but I didn't have any with me to replace.

Thanks for the cache caughtatwork.

Found today while walking from the CBD to Kooyong. Interesting spot that you don't see driving past on the Monash. Easy find. Thanks!

26-Nov-13
My walking buddy didn't turn up this morning, so whilst I was walking along the Yarra I thought I'd see if there were any caches in the area. This one brought back memories. I used to live across the road from the park about 28 years ago!

23-Nov-13
Night hunting with Baluke and Atraversiamo. What a great place. Things were bit wet underfoot and also the log needs replacing. We took a walk and watched the people climbing the walls. TFTC

01-Nov-13
just visiting a TB on my way home from work

31-Oct-13
On a solo adventure from Mt. Waverley to the city today. This one was pretty straightforward - nobody around to distract me, a cache in pretty good nick, spot-on coordinates, and enough time to relax for a bit. Nothing exciting really happened during extraction, signing and sealing - just a run-of-the-mill cache hunt. Cheers!

05-Oct-13
DD enjoyed finding this one & swapping a teddy bear figure for Barbie staples.

No trackables to be seen.

On my way to the bridge for a climb. Tftc!

01-Sep-13
Found this one nice an easy today with no muggles due to the bike path being closed off due to roadwork (or should that be pathwork). Anyway took a trackable (the only 1 of 4 supposed to be there) and was one my way. TFTC.

25-Aug-13
With Jimmytherat after a great breakfast at Top Paddock! Never new this area existed. Great little spot! Thanks Caughtatwork for bringing it to our attention.

25-Aug-13

20-Aug-13
nice spot the trackbles weren't in the cache

16-Aug-13
On a warmer day, this would be a lovely spot to come and eat lunch. The cache was quite damp inside so might need a bit of a clean up. The hint was helpful as my GPS didn't want to settle today. TFTC.

20-Jul-13
Nice and easy one for my first ever geocache find! Lovely spot too. I swapped a marble for a little wooden Santa Claus.

14-Jul-13

14-Jul-13

Find #29.

Visited here a few days ago but was prevented from searching by a muggle enjoying his lunch a few feet from what seemed to be GZ. Tried to wait him out, so spent some time checking the bouldering walls, wandering about, looking across to Herring Island, etc. but after about 25 minutes and still no sign of him leaving I admitted defeat and headed off.

No such issues today; the area was deserted apart from a few climbers at the aforementioned walls, who were out of line of sight anyway.

Found the cache after a few minutes' searching, in roughly the place I'd expected. A number of swaps in there, but none of the three trackables currently listed were in evidence.

TNLN SL. Thanks for a most interestingly located cache, caughtatwork, was more than happy to come back here for another look around. Smile

11-Jul-13
Relatively straight forward find this morning before having to depart Melbourne. Nice little spot away form the hustle and bustle of the world. Took smiley button, left Girl Guides of Canada Geocoin. TFTC

In the area this afternoon orienteering and time now for a cache or two.
Nice easy hide but that's not how I found it. Went round in circles for some time and then I re-read the clue and went straight to it.

Found at 16:22
I was having a walk around and made my way down to this cache. What an amazing wetland area, and surprisingly little traffic noise from the nearby freeway. GPS led me on a merry chase for a few minutes but I found the cache quickly once I checked the hint. The log book was full so I added a new one in a new bag.
Thanks caughtatwork for the cache. Another nice spot I'd never know about if not for caching.

Out with easty115 and the geokids on this fine Autumn day. What a great spot, until today I didn't even know it was there. Caching is so good for finding and exploring new places. Unfortunately the 3 trackables listed in the cache are no longer there.
SL took Kere Kere badge left Anzac poppy. TFTC

I have come to the city from Cranbourne Today (04/05/13) to see Melbourne storm play with my sister who has come down from Tungamah in Victoria. We had a couple of hours to kill before the game so we decided to do some caches. I have driven over this part of the freeway many times and would have never known this place was hear. Thanks for bring me to this spot caughtatwork and good find by the geokid.

Finished a job around the corner so, I thought I would do these 3 caches along the Yarra. Its a nice walk along here but you do need to watch the lycra wearing mugglers as they come along very offen.Sl Dropped a tb that had been stuck in a cache for 2 and a half years, so hope it moves on a little faster. Thanks Caughtatwork for the cache.

Find 589 at 23:44. It was time for another evening caching run with Burge. We had a number of caches on our list tonight and overall it was a successful evening with 15 finds for the night. This was find number 8.

We headed along the Yarra Trail from Graffiato to GZ and once there we quickly located the cache. I haven't actually been down this way before so it was an interesting stroll along under the Monash. I was surprised as to how much obviously goes on down here! Thanks for the cache, caughtatwork!

^ found this cache with my cousin, love the spot I would certainly go back there again we were looking for the Spirit of our Anzacs listing when we decided this one was better. Glad we did.

There was a path tag from tankengine in the cache so I took it and will download it onto path tags.

Thanks caughtatwork for the cache

Quick visit from Canberra via Adelaide, and found a cache or two as well!
This was a more peaceful location. Nice to get off the bike path - those cyclists are mad! Nice quick find, copped a couple of mozzie bits - sneaky buggers. Thanks caughtatwork!

I almost missed this one as I continued my run along the Yarra through Richmond and Burnley, but caught it in time to double back and collect the smiley. I managed to find it in a couple of minutes scouting around. With the container in hand heading over to a nearby table to sign the log and inspect the treasure, I was almost muggled as a tourist came out from under the freeway directly towards where I was, camera in hand. I employed my geo-thespian skills to cover any suss behaviour on my part, pulling the bike pump from my backpack as the container was put down under the bike. He must have bought the idea that it was a puncture kit, as we chatted for a while and he didn't look twice. Once he had left I quickly did what was required of me, and rehid the box before I had anymore company.
The activity under the freeway was a surprise. I knew for years of its existence, but now I know where it is!!

Thanks for bringing me here, caughtatwork, A far more relaxing area than you would expect here... especially if you were buzzing past above.

06-Jan-13
Out with my mate Two Drews for a bike ride and he told me of the find he had made beforeat this spot. After a look around it was found even though my GPS had it in the water, lots of action going on under the freeway, who would have thought. Thanks for the search.

05-Jan-13
Found on my weekly caching expedition thru the 'burbs. This week I decided to pick up a few unfound caches in the Richmond/Burnley area. After getting a train into the city I jumped on a #70 tram. This was a quick find in a very interesting area. There is a surprising amount of activity going on under this freeway that I'd have never have known about. Thanks for bringing me here C@W!

26-Dec-12
Boxing Day Caching Spree. Only found 3 for the day. But i spent awhile at the Bouldering Wall around the corner from this cache.

So many times i have come and sit on the seat here after a hard nights climbing and not known there was a cache around. Not sure why but until my last update of caches in the area. This one had been excluded.

Great to finally knock off another in the area

Find #1619 Big Grin

Having booked a boat to clean up some terrain 5's today, Happy Pants & I decided to make our way up the river today... We made our way to GZ, tied up nearby & made the find... Took a little bit of searching but came up with the goods in the end... Turned out to be quite a warm day on the water... I was glad to be able to add my stamp to the log prior to heading up the river...

A great spot for a cache in an area I haven't explored before...

Thanks caughtatwork for the cache... Cool

Found in the first place I looked. You do get lucky sometimes.

Have ridden past here many, many times without looking in here. Thanks for taking me here and for the cache.

No sign of the three trackables.

02-Dec-12
I bike this way often and never noticed the wetlands. It's nice to see things from a new perspective. Thanks for the background info.

02-Dec-12
After finding the rail ride series cache, walked off to get this one next. There was an art show going on under the bridge so spent quite a bit of time looking at the interesting variety of paintings on display (didn't buy any of them though!) then walked through the sculpture part of the show which went almost to GZ! Fortunately was able to find the cache quickly and sat down at the nearby picnic table for the signing. Had to wait a few minutes for sculpture viewing muggles to move on before the cache could be replaced! Thanks to caughtatwork for this one, have never been in this area before.

Short-stuff wanted to go to kindy by bike, so the trailer-bike and my ten-year-old hybrid for dragged out of the shed and washed. Wonder of wonders... all they needed after that was some lube and air, and we were ready to go.

So, this morning, after a slightly wobbly ride to childcare, I ditched the attachment and rode south with the wind for a few finds.

This was a good place to start. Previous visits here had been unsuccessful due to the number of people about, so I was rapt to have the place to myself for a quick find.

T Tee-rackable.
