One last find for this geocache!
Sometimes I go out to find archived caches that may have no been removed before archive.
Today I set my sights on this one.
I solved the puzzle, found the container and I am collecting the container so that it’s doesn’t become “geo-rubbish”!
Sorry to read about the CO passing. Was a nice spot for a cache. Hopefully someone else places one here in the future!
Thanks!

Cache owner has passed away. Cache is being archived at the request of the cache owner's family.
No problem in finding this one. It is a bit muggly. The container was a bit wet, but the log was dry enough to sign it. Tftc says Mafrika from Germany
Got the clues ok, but finding the cache took a bit longer with a few muggles around on this wet and windy day! Beautiful view as well! TFTC xx
Looked for this a while ago, nice to see ots been replaced and findable now. Bit wild a windy today but worth the hike. TFTC
Mr B had been here before several months ago and after realising the cache was long gone sent a message o the CO asking if they were okay with replacing this one - but they seem to be long gone as well as there was no reply?
Today with Mrs B and Tinytree along for a Waitakere adventure this was the first port of call after seeing it had been replaced. Still took a few minutes to find after muggles setting up watch on a structure nearby we took a bit of a walk around and looked at the views before getting back to find the well hidden cache where I first expected it but needed a second look to spot it.
Thanks Urbangypsy for replacing this - a month on the Jasmar calender that we do not have.
TFTC.

Went up and did my maths, nice and quiet there. Knowing there were several DNFs I made prior contact with CO to see if he objected to a replacement being left, I had no response but left one anyway after confirming my co ords with a previous finder, happy to have log removed it CO is not happy. Previous notes say there was alot of rubbish but this has now been cleaned up. Beautiful spot with good views, would be a shame to lose this gz.
2nd DNF for the day!
Found the original GZ and got the corrected coordinates but unfortunately think the cache is missing!

This has been on my to do list for awhile and as I was in the vicinity today I decided to come and get the information I needed. After finding that and sitting down to do my calculations I watched in amazement/horror as a car who had somehow made their way further up, came back down and proceeded to drive over the bollards, though the broken one (which is probably how it got broken) caught on the undercarriage of the car and made a lovely graunching noise but that didn't deter them, they just backed up and tried again until they got over it!!! Idiots!! Anyway back to the cache, after working out where GZ was I made my way there, spent a bit of time checking out spots then PAF'd who told me I was in the right spot, in fact I was standing right next to the cache, I just hadn't spotted it
This was our 3rd visit here and only then were we keen to have another go after talking to rustynz. This time we widened our search and found something of another way to access this area. Finally found the cache some distance from where our GPS wanted us to search.
Found on 15/05 with dr. C. Took a bit of detective work and cache hunting skills but we found it in the end. TFTC.
Quick find once I finally worked out the gps. No pen do I attached a picture of the container
Had to make two visits, the second time bought some bodyguards - rebel98 and Gorby. Thanks for the hide and the puzzle
#11714. A great viewpoint that is well worth a visit. We had to extend the search area to find this one; maybe we made a mistake in calculating the coords. TFTC.
Tomorrow we leave Auckland for Mt Maunganui, so it was our last chance to head out to Piha, a first visit for me and a second after many years for StreetWalker. We thought a weekday would be a quieter option than a weekend day, and so it was. What a beautiful part of the country. Many thanks to the COs for taking us to some interesting places.
This was the first stop of the day. When we arrived at the parking area, there was already a car parked there, with a couple of people sitting in it but luckily they weren't in a position to see what we were up to. We quickly gathered the info, sorted the final co-ords and then set to work looking for the cache. In the end, we had to ignore the GPSr and just go by the hint and the cache was found about 16m from our calculated co-ords. Maybe we had bungled? Anyway, a great location with fabulous views which warranted a cache placement. TFTC.

8 months later, I thought I better come back here and have another go. Thanks tramper2 for updating the necessary WP issue. Nicely done, at least the geodetic fixing isn't going to disappear!! I worked the numbers into appropriate co-ords and wandered off to a search, the co-ords suggested 'that' tree but the correct tree was further up the walkway, a bit out but I got there in the end. Good to have this one bagged!
Then I see all these young hoons come up the summit in 3 cars, looked like they were getting up to no good, one of the guys got out of his car and took a pee right there on the carpark!! No shame....

#173 Quick little puzzle to solve. Phone GPS had me way off the solution but a look at the hint and a quick scout around easily solved it.

As I work my way through the DGSc Challenge (GC30AD8) I find myself needing a whole lot of caches of differing of both Types, D/T Ratings to complete the requirements of the electives that I have chosen for the degree.
As I don't like puzzles but have chosen that particular elective (so as to push myself (as that's what tertiary study is all about) today I am going to collect another few to keep the numbers chugging along.
A Little Hint for fellow cachers , Unless you're a narcissist, I wouldn't even be starting this degree.
Managed to arrive here just as the most recent shower of rain had passed. A little Maths, take in the views on this stormy day and soon the cache was located. All was right with the world
THanks for the placement and the fun

Out and about today waiting for paint to dry. So a wee caching trip was in order. I had to head to New Lynn to grab an order made on Monday and then headed out from there.
I had grabbed some lunch and headed this way to enjoy the view. After my lunch I headed to posd coords to grabthe info. I took some photo and then sorted the final. Took me a few trees to find the final. Lovely spot.
Thanks for the cache.

Please note that original iron flange has gone This had the clues to find the cache. To overcome this I have made small changes to the sums which should lead to the final W/P
Found with Ann-So tftc! Bit of a disappointing nz Christmas tree not many flowers
Found once we got the correct co-ordinates. A gorse bush took out miss 10yr old in the process
I thought I might be able to get away with a quick calculate and grab today but not to be. Unfortunately it seemed to be a 'Couples' Day Out and I had to wait until they all moved off, perhaps for lunch or somewhere more secluded...who knows. Soon managed to get relevant info for calculations and cache was too to hand...cheers Roger (V).
A wonderful lookout. Dropped in to do this one on my way home from work. Used to come up here lots when I was young and in the Titirangi scouts. I still remember when Henry Atkinson's statue stood here now by Lopdell House.Drpped of geocoin.
Colour of flange in hint no longer orange.

Quick & Easy Puzzle Cache, Thanks for bringing us up here again, haven't been here for Ages !! Great Views. Have taken GeoCoin.
Exploring Titirangi and its geocaches today What a great view. Left a TB to enjoy it for a while. TFTC
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We spent this afternoon clearing a few caches around Blockhouse Bay and Titirangi. It was the first time we've been up here - a nice spot! The maths was easy and the final location soon worked out, where the cache was quickly found. Thanks for the cache!

Been meaning to do this several times, so finally did the maths and success. TFTC.
I finally got the hill to myself so I could find the cache without being watched!! Tftc
A pleasant evening out with Zenith08, and relatively straightforward and simple puzzle in a great location. TFTC
Nice puzzle find with TuisReturn.
We enjoyed touring around the area from cache to cache.

Back in area today to pick up my daughter after 2 days of tramping/camping at Huia. Had the extended Helefant team with me, my parents. Doing a few caches on way out that filled the requirements for the GeoLicense series challenge.
Enjoyed a bit of sun while up here, which was great considering rain was forecasted (I think must fell during the night, glad I wasn't the one camping). TFTC

Managed to find it in the pouring rain, the little puzzle to start with makes it fun
Another good hunt in my hood! First puzzle cache too which was cool - solved the clues and found the cache easily. TNLN

A nice find once I worked out what a flange was! Always enjoy the view up here and the weather today only helped. TFTC
Our son loved the maths although he was under pressure with his times tables. This was our very first cache and were delighted to find it pretty quickly! Added a pink snapband.
I've been sitting on the coordinates for months now after not being able to find this one a while back. It's a beautiful spot, obviously, and one popular with the locals. On one of my previous visits at nighttime I stumbled onto a romantic camp-out with candles all over the place and a couple concealed in their sleeping bag. I beat a hasty retreat that time, but I had the place to myself this evening. I received the recent notification that it was back in place and I've been chomping at the bit to get out and find it. I've been out twice previously and so I was pretty certain of my coordinates. Thankfully they were spot on and I was able to find the cache quickly. TFTC!
FORGOT TO LOG!!!!
this is cache was cool first riddled cache but no match for the DA CRIP

Think that this has been taken as I went with supermanallstar and we cnf. Possibly need to be checked by the cache maker
I had to google what the hint meant (Sorry, American! ), and solved the puzzle on-site, but had no joy with the hunt.
YUS!! FINALLY FOUND THIS AWESOME CATCH! Theres only one Supermanallstar! (thats me by the way)
WOOOH! you KNOW I slap it on hard!

Spotted this puzzle a while back and managed to solve from afar, in the area today for a quick retreival, lucky out of view from the muggles close by.

Did the sums at the top and ran into some fun guys just hanging out at the summit (see pic). A bit cloudy for the great views that I imagine you get, but a really nice spot for a cache. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache. Guitar GC out
This was a cool little puzzle! Really nice spot, easy find. Dropped in the guitar geocoin, after learning that they have band practice/music lessons at the nearby Lopdell Gallery!
No problem with the numbers, only a couple of people out to avoid but wasn't having any luck nailing the find. Angeshirl wanders over to see what's taking me so long and picked up the cache from in front of me and handed it over. Love it when that happens... [xx(] Great views up here today, thanks for bringing us here!
There was a group of four lads clinging to the site where the geodatum codes were, so tried hunting for cache intuitively using the hint. When I later found the cache it turned out that I had looked at the right tree but not thoroughly enough. Eventually easily unravelled the puzzle which didn't help much as my new Garmin 62s was having a surprisingly bad day in spite of the nice fine weather. It was pointing 25m into the dense forest. I later checked tramper2's coordinates on Auckland Council GIS viewer web site and found them to be perfect.
Finally nailed this one. A whole lot of used fireworks left for someone else to pick up.

Amazing views from here. Found the required information and then quickly located the cache T4TC.
What a fantastic place, with amazing views. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.
Wonderful views. Nostalgic journey as Mt Atkinson was named after my great grandfather. We looked in the wrong place at first because the compass was swinging but found it in the end
Had a few problems with GPS which initially sent us in the wrong direction, but after rechecking co-ordinates found cache without to much trouble. TFTC
Mt named after our ancestor. Three generations helped find the cache. Took the gingerman, He was dying to get out of that cold wind.
Out with Geo kids been up here many times before had cache cords but never the time now we have it good location but watch for muggles Tb in spider in ball out
A nice easy on-site puzzle with spectacular views of both harbours. Why did we never notice this mountain existed? Thanks for showing us this spot.

The new cache location is considerably more accessible than last time we tried this one, and now we reckon this is one of the must do caches in Auckland. Great view today from the top. TFTC!!!
A cache that satisfied a late sunday arvo urge to get out and find a cache with the kids before the light faded. Out: speed racer tb, rubber and balloon, In: toy car, pink pen.
I liked this puzzle - very straightforward. Cache was exposed so we hid it away. Log also damp. TFTC
