Went for a walk to find this one while Mr Ambayu went to find the other one. It was a nice easy find however I did end up wearing a few 8 legged friends which were quickly disposed of! What a day to forget to pick up a spider web clearing stick! TFTC.
I was needing a traditional today for a challenge cache and Ive also been wanting to find more oldies, so this area fit the bill. I parked in Lexton St and made a nice walk of the area, finding four caches, without seeing anyone else. After finding EN2, I headed to the track rather than going across country to find this one. Needing to use my spider stick in the off track section, I quickly found the cache. Great to find an Ammo tin. All good here and tftc
Evreser Notterts 1Out with geopup today collecting some oldies for my Q500 challenge. A quick find here, log signed, all replaced as found. TFTC Crew 153# 10150CheersWillis007
I need 3 Es to spell December and the unique spelling of this series of caches meant there were 2 in this area that would do the job.I parked at the end of Lexton St and, after walking to the western cache first, I came back and headed down the walking trail. A quick look around here and I soon spotted the cache. I love finding ammo can caches as somehow they feel very authentic. Thanks for the cache Crew153. I really enjoyed exploring this little section of Karawatha Bushland today.
Out for a casual stroll through Karawatha Forest West to find some caches prior to starting work. I walked along the Goodenia and Stretton Boundary Tracks. On a mission to Plug the Gaps in my Finds by Found Date calendar and this find helps there as well. Quick find once I arrived at the GZ. Love finding ammo cans. Thanks for bringing me to this location.TFTC. TNLN. SL. TB Prado Owl and Traveling Dinosaur visited.Find # 1766.
Nice stroll through the open forest. Thanks for bringing me here and thanks for the cache
Great cache. Thanks for placing this cache type - always good to encounter them. Thanks for the smiley.
Out and about this morning to pick up a few south side caches on a brisk winters morning day in south east Queensland. Hopefully it warms up a bit
Found a safe place to park the car and made my way to ground zero to locate the cache. Didn’t take long before the cache was in hand and pen applied to the log. Returned the cache to its hiding place and trudged back to the car
A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.
Cheers

I was needing more points for the Signal Labyrinth before it resets so I made some time to pick up a few caches today so headed down this way. Continued on from the previous cache. Excellent find here. Saw noone out here. TFTC
Finding my way in to complete this series produced a few headaches until I read the old by Davidwazza. Happily I entered the forest area via an official entry point. After completing all three I have to admit that I exited under the fence as it was the quickest way to my car. A favourite point to #3 from me. TFTC’s
Gadzooks, i better log these caches quicksmart.
I was on the assualt team for this cache with the domsky's and e_smiley the other week. *gulp*
We bush bashed our way here from the other one, before heading to the next. who needs paths.
Thanks crew153 for keeping this old one alive for us all to find.

Today, the plan was mountain biking around Karawatha Forest in Logan, to celebrate the 21st anniversary of geocache *Queens Land* with a scheduled community celebration event. After attending the morning photograph and cake session, I headed out west following the Ironbark Circuit. I then proceeded in a general anti-clockwise direction visiting lat&long junkie's favourite spot / virtual cache, and then riding south on Casuarina Trail, passing the quarry lake along the way. I then rode along the Maculata Trail, completing the Holden series (HS) trail. It was well past lunchtime by the time I finished riding approximately 30 km in distance, and after making a stop in the Kuraby Bushlands, I then found a few oldie geocaches in Karawatha Forest West. I closed out the day with a late lunch stop and a couple of geocaches in nearby Jack Pyle Park.
I know that some of the official Karawatha Forest maps have the trails marked over in this Karawatha Forest West area, but it was a shame that the geocaching.com trails map doesn’t, so my initial impression was that I would be bush bashing through this scrubland. However, I was taken back by passing by the lake and lillies that were in the centre of this small section.
I parked in a nearby sidestreet (Penson Street), expecting to see a small gate to allow walkers into the parkland, but there was just a high fence, so I had to slip under in order to access the main track. Upon performing a loop of the *Evreser Notterts* series geocaches, I noted that the nearby street, Lexton Street, had better access.
I also didn't quite understand the names of these geocaches until later - was this section previously named Stretton Reserve? So why disguise this name?
I found this geocache's coordinates to be pretty good, so kudos to the CO for making the necessary update. Hence, it was a subsequent reasonably quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Nosugrefs for the cache placement, and Crew 153 for its ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this oldie 09/2006 hidden cache, which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

Having found the previous one just a little lower on the hill, we decided to just bush bash straight ahead. Fortunately the forest is not sick in this area and so we just walked off the gentle incline to GZ.
A quick find with smallwombat and E_Smiley.

15/4/21 Find #4729
I decided to head over to the Southside again today to grab some more older caches. This decision was made last night. And again this morning. And once more after a sleep in.
So yes, it took a little time to put my plan into action today, as I was still feeling the effects of yesterday’s journey - too much sun, too much speed hiking and not enough water.
It was getting to the end of the day, but I pulled up here with the intention of at least getting these two old caches.
Having found #2 first, I decided to brave the bushbash directly from that one to this one and cut off a little time, as it was fairly open bushland to trek through.
This worked well, with me only spooking one kangaroo on the way.
As I arrived at GZ I instantly made my find - and another awesome original logbook here in this one.
Then it was time to head back to the main track which I could see from GZ and back to the car.
Thanks for the cache Nosugref, and for maintaining it Crew 153.

Having a few hours to kill, before picking our youngest grand-daughter up after school, we decided the best way to fill those hours was with a spot of caching.
#21 of 21 found today.
Having just found this one's sister cache it was refreshing to locate this one in excellent condition!
Seems you just can't beat this type of container for longevity! [?]
Happy to report that all is good here and safely tucked away out of sight.
Made our mark and replaced as found.

As miss 9 said.... Such a satisfying container.... Until she opened it and say my saw limited treasure, so we added a heap of treasure to make the walk worth it for the next child.
I was out today up on Southside of Brisbane with grannysmith1947 and Miss Millie the geodog. We targeted a few caches today.
21 finds today. 9 Traditional, 3 Letterbox, 2 multi, Earthcache and 2 Adventure Lab with 6 waypoint.
We had a good day
So for the generic post.

Cache 3 of 20 today! I was on the southside of town, generally hunting QLD's oldest 100 or oldest 500 caches (with a few slipping into the list because they were so close, or filled in a DT hole).
After a very stressful week of work, it was good to expend some energy, push my lungs a bit harder, and suck in some fresh air. GZ is beautiful, as to be expected, and I really enjoyed the walk and solitude.
Cache and log are in good condition. I now have my "E" for February, thank you!

With so many fires alight we were very mindful to watch and be aware here. A bit of a bush bash on the way back from #2 to an easy find here!
Had a hand full of old caches targeted today for a challenge than I'm slowly ticking off. This spot managed to contain two oldies within a short walk of each other. Decided to do this collection numerically and get EN 01 first. On the whole, very civilised walk via good tracks then a short bush bash. Noted that another cacher was here earlier this morning. Thanks for maintaining this oldie Nosugrefs.
I spent the last two afternoons in the Karawatha Forest to visit the geocaches hidden here around. First time beeing here I was fully concentrated to get the 2k geocache only. Now it was time for the remaining stashes. Few of them seem to be muggles (dnf was logged there). All the rest could be located and the logbooks signed.
Many thanks to all the owners for hiding and maintenance on their caches!

The sound of an old ammo canister creaking open in the calm of the wilderness!
Got this one’s twin a few months back but couldn’t get to this one due to pouring rain and severe lightning. Decided to retreat that day and get this one another time. Back here now on a blue sky day and the cache was quickly found.

I remember having this cache and its mate on my todo list in early 2012, and again in 2015 and perhaps three times so far this year. Every time it was towards the end of the day's plan, and darkness hit first. So I have never even driven to the gates, nor spied this little forest landscape before.
This morning it was stop #3 - the overnight dew was still drying - and after finding #2 I've gone cross country and another quick find here as well - oh look a path .... don't mind if I do thankyou very much!
Thanks Nosugrefs for entertaining me at this location.

A scorching summer morning was spent riding the trails of Karawatha, Stretton and Kuraby seeking solved puzzles, older hides and a new virtual.
Unlike the sister hide nearby, this one is in remarkably pristine condition, with an original logbook that looks better than many placed only a year or two ago. Nice to see an older ammo can in play, well hidden too.

That was a nice sized cache. Easy find after a pleasant stroll up the track, had to dodge some puddles along the way. Signed log and replaced cache as found. TFTC
I knew there was a trail in here somewhere but we couldn't find it and so went trouncing through the scrub. The satellite image showed a clearing which I hoped was a track and we headed that way. Not only did we find a track but also what appeared to be the remnants of about 20 cars. Not the complete car but a piece here and there like a surgery gone wrong. If I ever need a part I will be back.
When we started our search I told my wife to avoid sticking her hands in the end of logs for a quick game of handies. Grab a stick and stand back in case something is in there having a nap. This kind of freaked her out a bit and I suddenly noticed her checking out logs from 20 metres away.
I need to take her caching more often because she will rarely go looking around a suspicious pile of bark but will instead focus on the areas she wants to search. I know she isn't that excited about caching but just wants to hang out with me and look busy. In fairness she isn't that spatially aware either and after we found the cache she started walking off in a direction to a place where she would never be found again. The car is THIS way. tftc

I headed over the bushland to the the GZ. easily walk through and no bush bashing. A couple of spots which you could place this. After signing the log, I dropped the dogs lead so had to retrace my steps back to the GZ to get it. A nice little walk with the dog. TFTC Nosugrefs

I am running out of caches close to work that I can find and have started looking at caches on the way to work that I can just pop off the motorway to find. This one and its sibling stood out because of their unusual name. It was a bonus that they also fill a gap in both my hidden months and hidden dates.
I parked at the end of the street after passing a tai chi convention in the park nearby and wandered in. I keep to the path until I was about 40m from GZ. Once at GZ, with the hint in mind, I quickly found the cache. I was surprised how close to the path it was.

Being the last day of the year, needed to find a cache. Found this cache after doing Evreser Notterts 2 first. Thanks for bringing me to this location. TFTC
Easy one. There is no pen inside so bring your own. I ended up signing by charcoal from nearby burned forest.
After tackling Evreser Notterts 2 first, I was not sure that there was going to be any easy way in to this one so I went as the crow flies. At GZ it turns out I could have gone up a perfectly nice ? fire trail and in 30 metres instead. However, my aim was to pick up "The Key" travel bug and so I was pretty happy that it was sitting there waiting for me.
A pleasant walk even in the rain... and five months since it was last found... that's what you get when everyone seems to like the new kids on the block.... tftc... left some English coin and The Key tb...
