I was looking for my next spot to stop while driving down the Hume when I noticed this little one a little way off the main road. When I saw the date it was placed I knew I couldn’t pass up such an old and remote cache.

After driving through some of the gnarliest conditions I’ve experienced in a long time I made it to GZ on this back road where I quickly made the find.

Lightning was striking trees around me as I sat in my car signing the log. Not long after I had the cache sealed back up and replaced as found.

Happy to report that the cache is in great condition (especially for one as old as this) and the log nice and dry. I also replaced the ziploc bag with a fresh one as the old one was torn and no longer in great shape.

Missed the Wagga turn-off so that I could do the virtual cache in Tarcutta, and then saw this sneaky backroad that could take me back to the Wagga entrance!

Would be rude not to stop for this cache, as I can't think of a reason I would ever miss the Wagga turn off again and come along here! So made the find while I was passing!

Thanks Rescue-201

The whole team consisted of Joolay, Kittykatch, Strangetrousers, MTrax, TikvaNZ, Barb2e, Smittengranny, cosmonaut97, Aquilus1 & Tankengine. We had an awesome time away caching in Wagga Wagga and the surrounding areas and catching up with the local cachers Baby&Mrs Gopher. Thanks everyone for a fabulous time.

A weekend trip to Wagga and The Rock with dty73, Tankengine, Kitty Katch, Joolay, Mtrax, Strange Trousers, Barb2e, Smittengranny, TikvaNZ and cosmonaut97. The plan was for 'Kengal' and then a number of caches to suit all along. Many of the caches were completed all together and others into smaller groups as our directions took us but an enjoyable weekend away with a great group. Thanks for your cache that helped lead to a fun weekend.

Cutting through to Tarcutta and had to stop for the two caches along the road. Log is full and could do with some new paper but saw names on there back to 2017 so it's done well for a while.

With another day free, I decided on heading out to collect more caches and hopefully receive another souvenir from the current promotion. Big Grin I decided on doing the loop that goes: Wagga to Kyeamba to Tarcutta and back to Wagga via Borambola. Out a possible 26 finds, I found 24 of them. It was a nice drive along the country roads and I visited many places I wouldn’t have visited otherwise. The trip from Wagga to Kyeamba had a couple of GCA finds and the first half of the W2T/T2W trail created by Roostaman. The next bit of the trip (Kyeamba to Tarcutta) were a lot of park and grabs along the highway. After a nice lunch, at ‘Joes Café’ in Tarcutta, Big Grin it was time for the final part of the trip was around the back roads of Borambola and finishing with WWBridge#6. This means I only have the final cache in the Wagga bridge series to go. Big Grin TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s for placing and maintaining the caches I found and allowing them to bring enjoyment to me and others. Big Grin TFTC’s
Today’s Totals:
20 GC Finds Smile
4 GCA Finds Smile
2 DNF Sad

After lunch, I started my return trip to Wagga via Borambola and this one was first on my list. A quick find here and onto the next one. TFTC

Returning home to wodonga from Wagga area. Close on 100 caches for a 24 hr period I had no time to log every cache individually. I would like to thank all Cache owners for there effort in placement of caches. If there was any problem regarding a cache, I would certainly inform the CO via message or log depending on the issue if any. Cheers.

What a day! We planned a drive to Tumbarumba, then Tumut and back to Wagga, but took a wrong turn somewhere. As we found a constant trail of caches, we were happy to continue. We passed through some pretty country, and stopped at some amazing places. Travelled up, down and around some big hills, and along some very winding roads. By the time we were ready to head back to the caravan, the GPS read that we were 210kms away, so we arrived back much later than planned.

Cache was found quickly, and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Rescue-201, for us and others to find.

Well this was the last day of our long weekend Albury/Wodonga Geomission with Rapidlywild and specimenX before heading back to Canberrra.

Driving home to Canberra from Albury I decided to take a little detour to get this one. Both Rapidlywild and specimenX had previously done this one so it was my turn to go solo. Quick find at this one, logging duties performed then on our way again.

Headed down the really long thin black line this time to Victoria to try to finish off the HCRT Series. And attempt another couple of series in Northern Victoria. Day four of the adventure left Myrtleford early morning and headed back to the Hoopshot series, To pick up a few more before wending my way home. Hoping to find a few more on the way. What a spectacular place here in what I suppose you call the High Country of Victoria, No matter where I go in Australia I find a place that’s got the Wow factor. Great cache. TFTC

The long weekend has arrived for us Canberrans, so what better way to spend it than to team up once again with Rapidlywild and set off for Wagga and surrounds for what was to be another epic geomission? Big Grin

RW did the driving-so we just had to make sure she was topped up with water and “Mother” from the esky to keep her going safely, whilst I provided the entertainment lol Big Grin[:O)] We had a great day’s caching on Saturday, and Sunday’s effort ended in an epic 22hr day at 7am Monday when we arrived back home with a swag of finds and big caching hangover lol. Craziness! Big Grin[:O)]

Moving right along on the 'night phase' of the geomission down the dark and lonely road and this one was the next stop. Nice quick driveby! But I didn't see any wild life-only Rapidlywild! Razz

Thanks for yet another, Rescue-201 Smile

A long weekend in the ACT, well that only means 1 thing..... GO CACHING !!! So it was specimenX and myself off again, target - Wagga Wagga, Junee and Gundagai. We headed off on Saturday morning and collected along our travels. We spent the Saturday and Sunday caching around Wagga Wagga and Junee then we moved over to Gundagai on Sunday night and didn't get home until 7:00am on Monday morning.

We visited the Monte Cristo Homestead which was awesome and also visited the Junee Chocolate Factory which was also an experience. On the Saturday, the Junee Chocolate Factory got their name into the Guinness Book Of Records with the longest string of liquorice attempt (well over 519m which is the current record) and we were advised they were successful. How cool is that? We brought some chocolate of course and continued our travels.

As we usually do on our adventures, we visited lots of cemeteries and we actually visited one that gave us the real creeps, which doesn't usually happen to us. All in all we had a brilliant weekend and we are definitely suffering a caching hangover today. Lots of laughs, lots of stupidness and an all round great weekend Smile

Onto the cache:
So we had headed out of Wagga Wagga now and decided to detour and grab this one. The drive was nice along here and the roads are in good condition for dirt, then we hit the bitumen which were pothole free. Once at GZ, cache was located quickly, signed and returned. Off we continue Smile

Thanks for placing this cache for us to collect Rescue-201 Big Grin

Found this neat cache on a trip to Goulburn.
Thanks for the reason for stopping and breaking the journey.

04-May-13
A quiet road to drive along though i am sure that night time drive would be a little more interesting due to the fauna leaping about. We liked the drive along the road that we would never have attempted if it wasn't for the cache that was here. Found easily and we signed the very full log before continuing on our trip past the trig point and into Tarcutta. Thanks for the cache.

After a flying visit to Albury we left this morning to return the hire car to Canberra airport. Having cached the Hume Hwy once before today's objective was to clear what's left. Nipped out to grab this one. Saw it from the road as we appraoched, but all is safe and well with it. Found $5 on the ground nearby, but left no swaps Wink Swapped that for a coffee in Gundagai.

Greetings from Brisbane. Thanks for placing this cache, Rescue-201. Found in good condition.
