It had me buggered why I hadn't previously found this geocache. A nice explore through GSAK shows me the first time I set foot on the Southern Moreton Bay Islands was a week after this one was archived. And this was before the days I was quite interested in researching and searching for such things. Yeah, that's why I hadn't found it.
A couple months back a plan was hatched to get into a boat and find some water-borne geocaches with Crew 153, Fangsoki and Pprime. In the days before we were due to set sail, Mr. 153 identified this archived beast and suggested it worth a look. Yeah, we'll have a crack at that! The hired boat did us well and I navigated us to an appropriate jetty to launch a hunt.
Prime scouted first and reported a fence. Fang and I followed and it was noted this new fence has been erected for obvious and unquestionable reasons and not going away any time soon. Utilising two pairs of eyes to keep look and the early hour, prime offered to hop over for a look.
Beyond the fence was gross and he wound up sifting through all manner of rubbish. A suggestion or two of other places to check and what's that he's got? Generally the geocache was in good condition, but the container did not have long left to live. The three of us agreed nobody else needed a reason to jump the fence, so the geocache was tossed over and then Prime made an ungraceful flop over the top too.
Once more in the boat we checked the logbook matched the online logs and sure enough, 3129 days since the last log. That's the second most unloved geocache I've ever found! Heck, it feels a lifetime ago since my first visit to the island on 25 February 2011.
Now though, this one has been removed as it was definitely no longer needed, but a pretty great start to our day on the bay - now toff to our main target! One of four 2006 era finds we made; thanks for this geocache ozcymru

Out for a day on the bay with our Captain Terror, the Crew 153, First Mate Fangsoki and me as ballast. This one had popped up on the sonar, so we parked nearby and I was sent to walk the plank to see what needed to be seen.
Now, first, it should be noted the fence is still there. It's a nice sturdy, rather permanent looking fence on the edge of some works with less permanent fences around it. But the fence of relevance to this cache - that's here to stay for the foreseeable future. It is also rather - clear - on why it is there. So .... there is no valid reason to go beyond, and being somewhat dangerous nobody should.
So I did.
I looked in the wrong spot initially, found some rubbish and a rusty tape measure. But my oh-so-helpful shipmates pointed out an alternative only a metre or so away, and .... voila. One cache for consumption Crew. Well, turns out not for Crew, but for the rest of the crew - you know what I mean.
Cache was in near perfect condition, logbook sure was. We proudly signed off on some 3129 days since last find.
Now it is not how we roll usually, but where a cache is a problem we need to do what is right. One idiot amongst us is enough. Cache has been removed and is no longer in location.
Thanks for placing this cache, ozcymru. Found in good condition.

Captain Terror, Pprime (P`), Crew 153, and I were off on a nautical adventure of the bay and this was our first stop for the day.
All props to Crew 153 who spotted this one for us in his "homework". An archived that hasn't been found in 8.5 years? Don't mind if we do...
We examined the situation from our boat. Not looking too good - given the construction around. Pprime decided to have a look and indicated he was hopeful. Soon Captain Terror and I decided to join him.
With an "unorthodox" manoeuvre, we were soon at GZ and found the cache safe and sound. Inside, it certainly looked like a cache that hadn't been tampered with for 8.5 years.
Normally we leave archived geocaches alone once found (unless they're totally destroyed). But we debated removing this one or not given its "precarious" position. Wasn't so much a debate as an agreement. We decided on removing it.
Turns out poor Crew 153 actually had already found it. But we thank him for letting the rest of us know.
The cache was found - the log was signed. I am very happy we managed to get that
With the geocache removed, we hopped in the boat and headed to our next target. TFTC ozcymru

Please see the last cacher's comment. Had to archive this one as new fence been built around it.
The council fence looks permanent so this cache is definitely out of action. Please archive
This cache is unavailable at the moment as the council has erected a big fence while removing asbestos from the area.
Island hopping with Ozymru for the day.
Lovely sunny day to cycling around.
Found it nice and easy.
Thanks for the hunting.

An easy find on our day trip around the Bay Islands. Found with the help of friends and workmates from Hong Kong. TNLN.
We had skipped Macleay Island to allow tide to fall a bit further so now doubled back. 7 of the group stayed on Karra to enjoy a swim and some food while MrPiggy and Mrbee headed off. Located cache reasonably quickly. TFTC
Found this one on our big day out for Island Time. Quite an easy find - now to tackle the big hill beside us!
Saw two cachers walk towards the other cache in the area so hurried to grab this cache before following them. Quick find, TFTC.
Mongy found it while taking part in the Island Time day. A quick sign, and on to the next cache

Found on a Bay Island caching day with Lat&Long Junkies. Mrs Lat&Long had the honours here. Afterwards we headed off to lunch at the pub with jabes7. If your after a good feed of steak I could recommend "The Slab".

Found on our way to lunch. Cache was a quick find for Mrs Lat&Long as Bedmaker and I were metres away. TN/LN/SL and had to dash up the hill. Only just made the 2pm cut-off at the pub - whew! Had a great view of the water and eyed off Karragarra Island (our next destination) while enjoying fish, prawns, steak etc. Geez these island folks know how to live.
No GPS needed for this black duck!! I found it while the boys were 10m away!!! I noted Jabes7 looking smug from a distance as she didn't want to give any of us a clue!! Good thing I found it or the boys may still be waiting for their lunch . What a nice lunch it was too from under the tree at the pub watching the world go by.

Found easily in the company of my 8 yo nephew who now wants a GPS. Took bubble liquid and left 2 superballs. TFTC.
I have been very remiss at logging this trackable. It came for a visit to this cache a little while ago.
This was a nice quick one. Jumped on the vehiclular ferry to get from 1st island to this one. Cache was so quickly found that we could have almost jumped back on it. TFTC.
Out for a rather warm trip around the islands today. Easy find, TN left wine stopper TFTC

Today was the day to sail the bay with a real Pirate - how excited Denise and I were !!!
We've had this planned for a couple of months now and have been looking forward to our big day out very much.
Yowie series 4 was our ninth find of the day aboard the Black Skull.
Aaaarghh - We plucked up the courage to call Denise 'Galley Wench' and delegate the securing of the Black Skull while Pirate and I dashed to find the cache.
(I think we got away with it !!!???)
Thanks to ozcymru for the cache.

The fourth caching experience of our excursion to the islands with THENANKS and Broc today. We found this one in record time so had a bit of a look around "town" and a snack before getting back on the water taxi. A really great day out.
Is it up or is it down? THENANKS scaled the rise and found a set of keys and then found the cache. We have been enjoying this series and the fact that it has encouraged us to enjoy what is almost in our own backyard! We retrieved the geocoin and put a toy wagon in.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Yowie, another island cache to find on a beautiful bay day
It was just a quick paddle across from Karragarra to Macleay today. Had to dodge a few ferries [:o]
The cache was found in a nicely muggle free area
I grabbed Sebavo's April 2006 geocoin and drobbed in Deco's 2005 Compass Rose Geocoin #2.
TFTC.
