Gallery of log for Bendigo Bushfire Memorial

25-Feb-18
As we travel around the country we have come across many memorials dedicated to people who suffered and people who worked tirelessly and selflessly to protect the community and to help the community in recovery from catastrophic natural disasters. The Black Saturday bushfires in Victoria impacted on so many parts of the state and the extent can be partially gauged by the number of very sensitive and significant memorials built in the aftermath. The Bendigo Bushfire Memorial is quite different to the majority we have had the privilege of seeing. To us it acknowledges the disaster but also the hope for the future in a serene and respectful way. Thanks The Morris for bringing us here today. There were no people in the immediate vicinity when we visited enabling us to take time to read the information and ponder the reflective art works. We also took a number of photos, one of which has been added to the Gallery for this cache.
