"Marawhara Memories Piha" now back and upgraded and restocked, has a travel bug in ready to be carried to a new location. Hope we didn't inconvenience any fellow cachers while we did maintenance.

lovely walk glad we went there tftc

24-May-11
We were invited to contact if we had queries but as we have had no reply to 2 emails sent to Greensprout we have no option but to archive this cache.Hopefully if the notice is ever restored we will redo

04-Apr-11
really enjoyed the tramp to the falls. We were unable to get to GZ it was too difficult getting up the rock wall We had our fit 18 year old grand daughter with us, and she found it hard getting up the last rock wall .The Gps was all over the place so she was not able to find cache.Im sure we would have found it had we been able to get up the last rock wall. It is one of the more difficult ones we have done, mainly because if you dont walk up the stream bed ,bush crashing is not that easy. anyway enjoyed the challenge, TFTC

Unfortunately the Powers that be have removed the sign where you will work out the co-ordinates, not sure why they have done this, but will endeavour to find out as it was an interesting sign to read of local history. Hopefully we can restore at a later date
3 Nov 2010
Have made enquires about the missing sign, apparently was damaged and has been removed to be repaired. All money has been frozen while the new city sorts itself out, but it will be returned. At that stage we will reinstate the cache

16-Mar-10
nice walk, although the bush is suffering badly with the lack of rain. cache easily found alhough not good gps coverage accurate to about 19m. cache was damp. plastic bag had popped open so we replaced it with a zip lock, hopefully may stay dry.
word of warning to dog owners and children, we discovered piles of a creamy substance at the edge of track at base of trees, every 10 metres or so.We checked with the appropriate people and they said it wasnt there yesterday and they didnt put anything down.
Could be the work of a dog hater who knows, but the ranger was going to call pollution people to go see if they can identify. In the mean time be vigilant. it may be nothing but it definetely had been put there.TFTC. Droped off TB Bad Andy

15-Mar-10
solved the first part of puzzle quite easily, but not able to finish it, in spite of 2 trips out there.Without giving the clues away,we have decided things have changed in the last year, so we were not able to get the correct coordinates.Would be interested to see if anyone else has had a problem. It appears no one has done it for a year.

What a great place and lovely views. We loved the inscription on the memorial. Cache was one of the best we have found with its contents, thank you. Took travel bug and did some swaps TFTC

Great look out nice easy find TFTC

We went in from the Huia Road end of the Farley track, not sure why we did it that way, but it certainly turned out to be quite a walk.Looking at the map the Parau track there and back would be the shortest by far, anyway a great challenge accomplished, Great place for a cache, and the Castle good talking point. The cache was easily found so we covered it so it wasnt so obvious to muggles

Thanks for giving us the challenge to walk this track again after 20 or more years. A good cardio work out for sure 600 + stairs for the whole track there and back. There were muggles around but generally we find they dont take any notice of what you are doing. Took Jandal Travel bug put in KIwi Sliver fern Geo Also bracelet

Good cardio workout, quite tough on a hot day. We counted 600 + steps there and back. Unfortunately not able to fill in log as I thought I had forgotten pencil. Found one in my pocket when I got back to the car. I will put a pencil in when I return to fill in log as Im sure it will fit in. TFTC

19-Feb-10
Thanks for reinstating the cache. Didn't start out too well, found we had left the copy at home so didn't have the clues.fortunately able to call another geacacher who was able to read us the clues, so all was well. Once we had the correct co ords was a quick find. Our GPS was accurate to 2 metres which made it easy. A good spot to hide cache, and a very enjoyable walk. The second time in 3 weeks for us. TFTC

30-Jan-10
A great walk down to the dam with lovely views. Unfortunately due to extensive alterations to the dam we were unable to to complete the cache as some of the information required from an information board was not there.Hope it will be able to be restored in the future, because it is a great place for a cache and a good walk to it

17-Jan-10
What a huge amount of effort went into this very clever cache. Thanks so much. A very enjoyable day had with the Blackman family. We miscalculated the domes for the Meer cats which threw our final co-ordinates out, so we had to get a bit of help. Made it in the end, very challenging and enjoyable. It seems that the zoo staff havent a clue what it is all about which is a bit of a pity.Never seen so many people at the zoo, but basically muggles dont even take any notice of what you are doing.TFTC

This was a clever hide .With the only thing in sight ,the lone pine not the spot. However we were very glad to find a nest with baby birds chirping away in the hollow tree. We rebuilt the" stone wall below "that seemed to have scattered .TFTC

Well done Julian. Great spot to sit and watch the busy wharf. Cache well hidden FTF

interesting place, found cache quite easily in good order.didnt take anything,It is shame that we do not respect our beaches the rubbish is unbelievable. We try to do our bit by picking up bags of rubbish about 4 x a week.We all need to be aware of what the rubbish is doing to our oceans, and do our bit to help keep them clean.

really enjoyed the quite steep walk up. Very Happy to find 3 variety of native orchids on the way up. Our GPS died when we reached the top,but was still able to find cache quite easily. The wind had made it fall, but put it back.TFTC

Found it very easily on way back from Coromandel, lots of Muggles coming in from fishing but not a problem. TFTC
