Description

Are you a Geocacher? Scouter? Going to the Jamboree?

Bought to you by Partic, Roundcircle & Pothole34

Many a cacher is a current or past member of Scouts Australia.

The National Jamboree is on in Victoria at the end of the year, and so where better to meet up with cachers from around the country!

Not to isolate the wider caching community, we'll be having the Jamboree Caching Event on Visitors Day, so those wishing to travel to Elmore (between Bendigo and Echuca) in the heat of summer, will be more than welcome.

Future Scout Day / Market Day / Visitors Day
Entry Fee (to Jamboree Site): Gold Coin Donation
Event Location: Roadkill FM Radio Station, Jamboree Market Place
Time: Drop by the station any time during the day, and we'll have a specific time set before Christmas.

Logs

Archived, finally.

Thanks to all who attended!

Thanks to all who swapped bugs during the Jamboree. I hope they've all found their way onto other caches now (I was worried about a few for a while there).

See you all in 2010 perhaps?

Thanks guys for a great event cache!

Apart from all the dirt that gets kicked up its a great area!

Steph (Little Miss Muggle), was one of the many scouts at the Jamboree and will be attending the Sydney Jamboree in 2010 with her sister!

Thanks again for organising this great day!

Dicko and Little Miss Muggle!

Briefly dropped into the area on Market Day, but with thousands of muggles milling about I despaired of finding any of the faithful.
Came back a few days later, slipped into the secret entrance and tripped over a man-mountain. "Geocacher?" said I; "That would be me" was the smiling reply. Paid my respects, swapped a few TB's, returned to the job at hand.
Thanks to all,
Rathard

I'm nominated as an organiser, but it doesn't show on my cache stats, so I'm logging as attended. I hope that's Okay.

It was great to meet other cachers at the Jamboree. Thanks to Partic for seting the event up.

Dropped by while at the Jamboree...

We had been at the Bushwacked off site activity since Boxing Day and made an occassional trip in to the main site.

We came in late on Market Day but Partic ws not around at the time.

We had hoped to call back later but these events are so taxing we prefered to use our spare time to relax back at Bushwacked.

The whole event was fantastic with all members of Team_Diesel having great fun.

The Scout amongst us had the most fun while the two Venturers and two leaders enjoyed providing the fun.

Thanks Partic for cache.

12.00pm
Visited by Roma and Max.
What a spectacle, so many tents, buses and people of all ages.
Getting here was a challenge in itself with cars banked up in all approach directions.
However these minor difficulties were well compensated for by what we found within the complex. This event has provided an enormous boost to the economy of this local drought ravaged part of rural Victoria, and what an exciting and beneficial experience it must be for all the participants.
Thank you Partic, Roundcircle & Pothole34 for providing us with the incentive to become involved, if only in a very small way.

Solomonfamily came by today at lunch time - could not find anyone Sad Asked at the radio station, looked around Snowgum (where my GPS was pointing) - oh well next time. I had intended to swap a TB (Mr Bouncy) and give someone Diabetes but ended up with a fist full of Market day funny money instead. Thanks anyway.

I'll tell Mr Socks about this tonight. He's done one cache, the day before he left for the duration of Jamboree. Any particular time?

05-Jan-07
There is a possibility that the solomonfamily will come up for a visit - what time are people meeting ?

01-Jan-07
Will be there

31-Dec-06
Another NSW cacher with a few TB's looking to visit and then move on. I won't have my GPSr on me so I suppose I can just go to the Radio Station and look stupid. It should attract a few Geocachers.
See you there.

22-Dec-06
Mrs Bundy will be there for the duration, and will drop in when she gets a chance, hopefully on the day of the actual event.

21-Dec-06
We will drop in during the Jamboree as well as on the event day.

Look forward to cacthing up again.

Clip_Clop should be there. However, I would envisage that this will depend on what Jamboree activities are organised for the day.

20-Dec-06
Obviously, I'll be there Smile

Please log your "Will Attend" status so we can work out whether we'll need to make a designated area for the event.

Hi Partic, will try to get there, depends on what the fire situation is at that time. Have been in Scouting for over 40 years, including youth sections, held a Warrant for 31 years. Now retired except for being a friend of Clifford Park.
