Description

Pancake House On Gilbert Place Adelaide And That's The Flat Out Truth!

This cache started it's life as a webcache in 2007 but since the webcam has been removed.

The cache lives on as a webcam tribute cache!

Instead, snap a selfie, with or without stack of pancakes.

Had dinner here with my family.

21-Mar-18
We spent the latter part of this afternoon in the centre of Adelaide collection information and taking photos for a number of virtual and history caches. This was one of the virtual cache sites that we visited. We first visited a Pancake Parlour in Melbourne over 30 years ago when our kids were young. Understandably it was a favourite spot and they enthusiastically urged us to return on a number of occasions. We had looked to log this cache sometime ago but the webcam was out of action. Now that the requirements have changed we have returned this afternoon. The required photo has been added to the Gallery. There Thanks Master Darko for this cache.

I love the pancake parlour in Melb. Cheese and potato pancakes. Yummmmmmm

09-Nov-17
In Adelaide for the day and before we headed out this evening we dropped by to grab a quick photo. Although we have been to Adelaide on three previous occasions, this was our first visit since starting geocaching and hence is our first South Australian GA cache...but it want be our last as we will be back.

A quick swing past on my shopping adventure to the Rundle Mall and I nabbed this photo as well as the nearby GC cache. TFTC Master Darko; sad that the webcam isn't functioning anymore.

24-Sep-17
With a no longer operational web cam, and having just had breakfast, I took a pic from outside like many before me!
Cheers

Don't think this one is online any more

13-Aug-17
No pancakes today sadly.

Just a quick stop for a photo.

The cam seems offline.

TFTW Very Happy

I have in the past tried to get the webcam on this one working, but it has been off line for sometime now. Today while walking past there was some contractors who seem to be giving the place a make over. I think the new owners are making a difference it was looking good.
Best thing about the pancake kitchen is not the pancakes it is the crispy potatoes with sour cream and bacon - yum yum yum.

(its a terrible photo, sorry I was trying look inconspicuous while selfie taking - I am really bad at that)

06-Jul-17
Found on my way to train station after flying in from Perth

28-Mar-17
In Adelaide this week so made sure I found a few caches while in town. TFTC.

29-Sep-15
Adelaide September 2015 trip. Great to see the pancake place celebrated.

Thanks

I've visited this establishment many times since I started caching, and many more before my epoch, but the camera here has never worked in that time. I've taken numerous photos but never got round to logging until now. Our visit was after a game at Adelaide Oval, so the place was absolutely packed, but well worth the wait.

TFTC Master Darko!

Decided to treat the kids to 'dessert' at the Pancake Kitchen.
We tried the regular stacks of 3, with Cal going for 2 with Strawberries.
Alas it has been many years since our last visit and we'd forgotten how filling there were.
Sandy and I managed 2/3 and Bek and Cal managed 1 each.
We all enjoyed our drinks too.
Did a bit of searching to find the Cam but alas it is not available, so I resorted to grabbing a photo of my meal with my GPSr.
I have looked at the Cam previously (but not for a few years) as this GCA has been near to the top of my "close to home" list.
At least with this photo I can stop it coming into my GPSr load.
TFTC Master Darko

The cam has disappeared, so we took a Waymark style photo out the front.

Did it as a geography project, had a lot of fun

Tried with the website on my phone but it didn't like the demand Java had so it wouldn't work.
Tried a dial-a-father to take a computer shot too but that didn't work either!
So I took a shot of us. Hope that suffices!

I can't believe I'm the first person to properly log this cache (ie, actually use the webcam).
Webcam caches have generally become so much easier with an iPhone, just open up the webpage while in view, take a screen grab and save. But this one doesn't work this way because the webcam uses java.... grrrr.
Anyway, Mrs Wibble was in town, Mr Wibble was at work. So here is Mrs Wibble with a visible iphone texting "take a shot of me now" while waiting for a bavarian apple pancake.

Saw the camera, but didn't want to stay for food. Took a photo of the outside of the place with my GPSr in shot, sorry no inside picture.
