Logs
Update: The fake rock is hidden at the base of a stump, lh side of track roadside not canal side under greenery.
thanks for the cache robtas (RIP), and to whitewebbs for keeping it in the game.
happened to be in the area today, with some spare time before my next pick-up, so I parked almost on GZ but no luck finding - wondered if I'd parked too close!
so I went and found two other nearby caches and then returned. parked a bit further away and read some logs.
AH! Found as per whitewebbs log of 14 April 2021 except that the tree is now a closely cropped stump! Watch out for rubbish and doggy doo
Cheers,

out and about for a fun run in Launceston and this was the first GCA for the weekend TFTC TNLN lig new and dry. a wet cool day so far.
Thanks for replacing and maintaining this cache whitewebbs. I only realised this had been replaced yesterday, and today RLD4963 and I were driving past on our way to drop off the GeoGSP to his doggy resort for the long weekend, so we were keen to stop and search for this one.
Nice quick find on a very grey gloomy morning.

At long last I can log a find on this cache, I have searched many times before but today thanks to whitewebbs I can at long last log a find
RIP robtas ☹️

Vale Rob. I have replaced this cache as it is such an old cache. I live nearby and will maintain it. It is now a fake rock, hidden at the base of a tree lh side of track roadside not canal side under greenery.
As part of GCA's May-ntenance Month can the CO have a look into this one please, I have searches with a past finder now and still cant find it.
I have searched a couple of times while passing and only yesterday me and Mrs SSR searched for 10 minutes with no joy.
Stopped in today whilst visiting South Arm.
Beautiful day to visit a lovely area.
Mr Felix found the cache. The lid was no longer camoed but it went through the Felix workshop.
Newly camoed and all ready for future finders.

Stopped but when we saw the rubbish, including toilet paper, we soon lost interest.
A quick find just before dark. Still kids at the skate park just across the creek though. TFTC
Stopped by about a week ago, but as I was in a real rush and didn't have time for a proper look I didn't log a dnf. Stopped by again today. Cache wasn't visible at all, but I went almost straight to the right spot and a quick shuffle around revealed it. A bit of water in the bottom. Tipped out what I could, but it was starting to rain so I wasn't real thorough. Log was pretty dry.
Apparantly it has been 72 weeks since the last find! Pulled in to have a look on the back to the in-laws. We had no trouble finding it. Tipped out the water inside -logbook still dry. TFTC
Expected to be looking for this one for a while considering all the logs saying they needed a lot of scratching around and co-ords being off, but neither of these were a problem and I had the cache straight away.
I do agree with others though that the contents were wet, and the log paper quite damp.
Glad to have this one because I've been aware of its existance for a while, but never had the coords with me when I've been there.

Was a few weeks back we did this cache after putting the model boats on the channel.

i rode from my house(roaches beach) to here and was worth the ride(i got a whistle ) i proped my bike up agaist the boulder and after 5min of looking, found my bike wheel was about 10cm away from it unfortunatelly forgot to bring something for the cache so just went over to hill street and bought something (i also found a good spot on for a cache on my way back be on the look out for it)

I looked in completely the wrong spot for a few minutes, having thought I remembered reading that the coords were out.
Then I decided to trust the GPSr, and had the cache in seconds.
Uncovered again (I have mostly recovered), but the camo is probably good enough.
Thanks.

A nice quick find on this, been a while between drinks for it but it is still there safe and sound. Covered it over a bit better as it was uncovered. Thanks robtas.
Had to scratch around to find this one. Cache hunting with whitwebbs

Stopped at the balls on our way down to the beach at O'Possum Bay, took a little searching but then looked further and found the obvious spot. TFTC
Stopped to take a picture of the sunset and thought I'd give this one another go. Found it fairly quickly with a bit more experience, hint from a friend and of course, the title gives it away!

ps, might need a new container as while the log itself is dry the contents of the box were soaked through

Couldn't give up on this one. Had to o back and look. Took five minutes and I had a wet cache in hand. Got a zip lock bag and record sheet from the geo mobile as nothing was recognizable as paper any more. Cache needs maintenance urgently.

Had a spare half and hour in the area and thought this would be a quick find - well after 25 minutes of searching with no luck we decided we better go otherwise miss the appointment.
GPS had us slightly into the car park, next to a VW combi van that was empty, but there was no sign of the cache at the nearby obvious locations.
Any hints accepted!!!!

Nice spot here, Hubby found this one, eldest kid was basically right on top of this one, she just didn't look in that spot. Log & contents was very wet.. TFTC

Looked there. Felt there. Left there. Went back. Don't know how we didn't get it the first time. In severe need of maintenance - sodden contents. Perhaps the next visitor could come prepared with a new log book in a zip lock bag. Thanks.
Found after only a couple of minutes searching around the only reasonable hiding places near to GZ.
Searched this area for what seemed like ages until our geodaughter couldnt take it any more, co-ords placed me near some bushes, after many scratches and im sure some migrant bugs I couldnt take anymore and had to give up, but am determined to find, especially after looking at previous comments and perhaps wont rely on co-ords so heavily!
UPDATE: Looked again today, still no luck? Is anyone able to confirm that this site hasnt been muggled? Im pulling my hair out with frustration trying to find this!!

Finally found it at 1122hrs as the 2nd of 9 for the day and my 293rd find. Had looked for this one on previous occasion with a TomTom but it was all over the shop in this area. The Garmin put me right on top of it today. Thanks for the fun!!! Merry Chritmas and a safe happy New Year to you and yours. Cheers OldSaint.
Started this one and had to run off to answer a call of nature. Once I came back and had a bit more of a think about the name, it was an easy find with spot-on coordinates.
The cache was sodden, and the log sheet rotten, but was able to be logged. Unfortunately I didn't have any spares with me (and I was once a girl guide - a bad one) so the cache is still very wet, sorry RobTas. TNLN Thanks for the cache.

Hey guys!
It is I, Sonic the super bird (again)!
I knew my team would have another go and they found it!
DaBoss & Junior went down to Kmiatae's for a sleepover and did a couple of caches with her.
It was all thanks to team kmiatae who went online and had a look at the gallery. (Thanks robtas! "wink wink.")
The team didn't get occupied by the bushes again, which was good.
Team Kmiatae's GPS was about 7 metres off which was weird and ours was about a metre off (as usual).
TFTC! Nice hiding spot!
Over and out,
SONIC THE SUPER BIRD.

This is the first cache my owners have not found. But I think they are pretty determined to find it. (They did only spend five minutes there as they were in a rush and as usual, BAD WEATHER.)
The second oldest team member is not really that happy to stand out in the cold while junior team member & Da Boss looked around.
This muggle pulled up in his ute near us and seemed to be secretly watching us. He was very mysterious and I'd like to find out exactly why he was there... "Gasp." HE MUST BE A SPY!!!!
Our team will have another look when the weather is more comfortable.
STAY TUNED FOR MY NEXT LOG ENTRY ON THIS PAGE.

15:05 Yesterday, as is usual for me when out caching, we didn't stop for lunch at all and were starving by the time we got back to Snuva HQ at the end of the day. This time we stopped at the Hill St Grocer (not that there are that many hills right here!) and grabbed a beautiful lunch. We stopped a few metres away from GZ and had our feast, then I made the grab between muggles.
Have changed the co-ords slightly as suggested thanks.
I should not place caches on cloudy days. Then what others do they have in Hobart????????????

Found it almost by accident. I decided not head back into the same rubbish filled bush that preoccupied me last time, and happened to notice the cache very quickly. Coordinates more like S42 54.754 E147 29.164 I think.
I bounced around the bushes for a half hour, but didn't spot a cache anywhere between the beachballs..
Sounds like it's a trick hide

Couldn't find it where GPS said. Stood back and did there 'where would I hide it' search and still didn't see it. I for some reason always struggle with a robtas placement - I don't think our brains match up very well
Found by GeoKid#2 with Turbo Chickens. All the grown-up cachers were very despairing - it certainly isn't in a typical geo-spot but it's pretty much where the coords say it is, (not under the bush). Take a hint from the name. Great fun. Good spot. TNLNSL TFTC.

Found while on way to town from our home, this is our first Aussie Cache. Really had to think about the meaning to get the cache. Thanks from the Turbo Chickens

In the company of redtag and 3dg we made a sucessful find. Log book was wet so note duly signed was added to the cache. Nice spot by the canal Thanks

Had looked for this a month ago, but didnt have the balls to log a DNF.
Tonight, Neribil and I as Redtags security guards on the way to a possible FTF (but sadly a 2nd to find) had the balls by the horn and found the box without a problem.
Good stuff Robtas

2008-09-21 16:11 Took a while but I got it in the end. Contents wet so I dried everything, log still damp tho.
Thanks robtas.
Thanks robtas.
Mr red tag had this one found before I even got to GZ. A beautiful day by the water.
Thanks robtas
Thanks robtas
Something for everybody, hey? Especially if you enjoy a spot if CITO... (-: Anyway, no joy today... but thanks for the opportunity because I'm now only one log away from my anti-milestone of 50 unique DNFs!! Woohoo!
A straightforward find - no time to explore the area as we were running out of time after our extended visit further south & had to get back to Hobart for a meeting. TNLN TFTC.

I pass by here quite regularly - kept forgetting to go find it till finally, this weekend! Thanks robtas.
We stopped for lunch, but only after we found the cache of course.

Great balls of stuffing around under a bush instead of where we were meant to. Left some squashed pennies.
Cheers robtas.

Another FTF to me, Gspblu theatened to leave me behind, we were in his car. The name of the cache is the hint here.
Thanks for the cache Robtas

Rebulus beat me to this one also. Guess it pays to take the name literally.

Yes I agree with you, that this place was crying out for a cache. A great location. But this one had me beat. I'll give it another go when the weather is a bit more favorable.
