Description

Hole in One - Western Ring Path

The Western Ring Path is the continuation of the Western Freeway Path along the Western Ring Road and provides opportunity for some walking or cycling along a nicely made asphalt path way.

You are looking for 200ml sistema container for this geocache.

Another micro which is unusual because what's the point of a micro. In this series along the Western Ring Path the goal is get out and have a walk, have a stroll, get some excersize, do some cycling, do some jogging or running with the occassional geocache left behind to make the activity that much more fun. While a micro is rarely a good idea for a geocache, this locagtion suited one to the millimetre, so I thought why not.

Had a bit of time to kill before heading to the airport to fly further afield and with my good wife happy to go for a walk, I thought we could grab a few of these latest ones along the here. Parked in the suburbia a few hundred metres away and managed to grab five while just enjoying the walk.

Took a minutes to realise it was here however once the nicely hidden cache was in hand the log was soon signed.

Thanks [email protected] grab the rest next week when back...again!!

Well.

This wasn't the day I'd planned, but family matters had turned the weekend on its head. Between sleeping in after the fun of caching in the dark until so late it was almost early, and staying at home to referee while the better half ran some errands, it wasn't until mid afternoon that I rolled out the gate.

So here I am, finally logging my first cache for the day after crossing the Whitten Bridge, which, while roadworks are happening, is a tad too narrow for this cyclist's liking.

Anyway, I spotted where I thought the cache should be, and feared it was missing... but a bit of a poke and it was exposed.

Let the fun begin. Thanks, C@W.

After parking the car about 200m away it was time to start this end of the path and hopefully meet up with the other team member not too far along the path. The day was getting hotter so walking conditions were not exactly pleasant. We were pleased that the fly population on this section of the path was very low.

We had to look carefully, after consulting the hint, before this micro container was spotted - not one of this CO's usual containers but one that was very appropriate for this area. The container and contents were in good condition and coordinates took us straight to the cache.

Thanks for the cache Caughtatwork. We enjoy the variety of cache containers and hides and are very pleased they are not all rusty mint tins or tiny nanos.

I am staying with my auntie 'cathlud' this weekend and we love the Western Ring Path caches. She says that they are good for me to find. I enjoy using her GPS, reading the cache descriptions and then searching for the caches.

This was our last cache today because there are workmen across the road. I hope that the series continues soon. It has been fun today. Clapping

Thank you for placing this cache for us to find.

My niece (PrincessFiona) is unexpectedly staying with me for the next four days. We had a few hours free-time this morning and I noticed that another section of the Western Ring Path of caches had been recently published. We have previously enjoyed this series so we made the 40 minute drive from home, to spend 70 minutes caching and then 40 minute drive back. Rolling Eyes
I let my niece use my GPS and find the caches. I sign the log (she can't write small enough on the narrow logs) and she rehides the cache before we are off to the next one. Very HappySmile

The cache was hidden exactly as I had guessed although I did have to give my niece some advice and help to extract it.

This was our last cache find for today and we found out why the series has stopped here at present. There were lots of workman nearby but they were all occupied in their work and didn't notice us loitering for a short time.

We look forward to the series continuing as it is getting closer to our home.

Thank you caughtatwork for this cache and continuing series. Clapping

#GA2066 - 13:23; In Melbourne with the geohoney for a few days to visit the geoteen, and today the girls had a day planned around appointments, retail and the art gallery, so I was off a caching again! The plan for today was to collect eleven new caches along the Western Ring Path which have appeared since my last visit in July. Parked not too far from the start of this section of the trail and headed off on foot. Managed to collect eleven caches for eleven *FTF* as I made my way along the bikepath. I checked the hints for a couple of the caches where there were muggles close by and I wanted to speed up the hunt to avoid scrutiny, but the majority were easily located and the coords were spot on the whole way along. Another where I thought the hint would lead me to the cache, but I did need to take a second look before I spotted the cleverly hidden cache. TFTC caughtatwork Very HappyClan Cerberus
