Description

The Plenty Link Rd, dubbed the Southern Explorer, is about 40km long and connects the Glenfern and Glenora roads intersection on the outskirts of New Norfolk with Lonnavale Rd near Judbury In the Huon Valley. It was intended to provide a valuable tourism link for both regions but was found to be unfeasible in a report by consulting company Jacobs Australia in May 2015. Today it is mainly used by locals, log trucks and wood hookers. There are some amazing views of the surrounding hills and mountains as you traverse this link, and don't miss a stop at the wild rivers that flow under narrow one lane bridges along the way.

Thanks for the cache stainless-steel-rat. Out today with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP. Neither of us had ever driven along this road before, so it was all a new experience for us (the GeoGSP is not allowed to drive, but he is very good putting his head out of the wind with his tongue hanging out Very Happy ). Starting to get a few good views on this southern section of the road. This was another nice quick find, Cheers.

Two weekends in a row. Who would have thought? It was nice knowing the correct road to take this time and we were able to zoom thought without hesitation. A quick find with Alby Dangles and 1toolman with SSR looking on. Another sunny day thought here, we're very lucky. Thanks stainless-steel-rat

We had been use about how long it would take us to find these caches but as the light was holding we decided to continue on. This section of the road was very quiet so we were able to stop in the intersection and admire the view before pulling off to look for the cache.

Using the name of the cache and the hint we did not have to use the GPS to locate this cache. Container and contents were in good condition. The hardest thing was getting it back together in the confined space.

Thanks for another cache on this road Stainless-Steel-Rat. Unfortunately we didn't have time to explore the other roads today.

Hey weren't we on this road we have never been all the way through from South to North on Saturday? Today we decided to travel North to South, another 200 km round trip to find more newly published caches and this was the sixth on our list. Accurate coords and hint led to us to the nicely hidden cache container. All these great caches to find on the Plenty Link Road now. There was more traffic being a work day, especially closer to Huonville where there were roadworks. TFTC

Had received notice that one of my caches may have gone so went to check on it today - all fixed now
However, the truth is - some new caches were available and the temptation was too great!

Sainted at 1039 hours with a quick find.
